Yes, they do have ELD solutions for semi trucks as well. The plugs and connections for semi trucks can be different, but there are ELD systems specifically designed to fit those configurations. Make sure to choose an ELD provider that offers options for semi trucks and ensures compatibility with your vehicle's system.
Great video, to make the pre trip a little easier you can go into your motive dashboard and make it mandatory to do a pre trip before going on duty, that’s how I have it set up I find it easier,
Is it possible to manually change duty status once you stop or do you have to wait until it automatically asks if i want to stay in driving? Getting on duty manually saves vital minutes traveling big yards
Yes, you can manually change your duty status once you stop, except for the driving status-you’ll need to wait for the system to automatically prompt you to switch out of driving mode. Switching statuses manually when you’re stopped can save you valuable time, so it’s a good practice to stay on top of your logs.
What do you do if you arrive at your shipper or receiver and run out of hours for the day. What status do u choose when they give you a door? How do u get offloaded or loaded when ur on ur 10 hour reset?
I would PC to the nearest safe place to stay but notate what happened. Typically that’s bad planning but if there’s no choice then that would be your only option and hope you don’t get a DOT officer that will trip about that but some may.
When your using your phone do you have to keep the app open or i can go off it and use other apps in my phone like gps or make calls or text messages etc ?
Your welcome. It doesn’t have to be connected to the internet but it’s highly recommended so that your back office, in any besides yourself can keep track of you.
Getting ready to start my trucking non CDL. I’m confused on the whole plate situation. I need to register my plates and vehicles registration to say 26000lbs or under ?
Alot of useful information. Still have questions I use this same vehicle for work and home and I work 3 weeks on 1 week off. On my week off do we still need to have eld connected. I have forgotten to update my status and have gone into violations.
Glad you found the info helpful! Two ways I do it when Im home and used to run my other truck. I'll either go off duty and go into personal conveyance when moving around town, you just have to remember to go back off duty break when your done. Or ill just go off duty and unplug the eld while home. Ill do that if I'm staying within 125 miles of my home base.

What's up, Tim! I've been subscribed to your channel for a while now and I've learned a lot here.
