This may sound crazy, but what if they just gave us a piece of paper and a pen.. When we get tired we can draw a line in sleeper and when we are not tired we can draw a line on driving. That way a computer can not tell us to drive when we are sleepy and to sleep when we are wide awake.. I can get some crazy ideas sometimes.
How could you? You mean to say that a human being is smart enough to know when they must rest???? 🤣

Don't haul loads for TQL - solves two problems. Cheap freight and a million check calls.

Garmin elog one time fee of product. Then it's free, you just have to carry usb drive to keep downloading records, witch is easy.
As an owner operator, I don't like the fact that the company has access to the computer of my truck.
One of the trucks that I maintain was having issues with his truck. But everytime I would plug in the computer, no problems would show. As soon as I plugged in the eld, the truck would start randomly shutting down. Tech support argued the problem wasn't on their end. Company finally swapped it out and problem solved.
I love motive loging system thy can’t be misused or company gost loged very reliable system way better than many✌️keep it real😊
I’ve had same issue with them on restart and they told me to sleep another 10 hours after I’ve spend 9:58 minutes already. I’ve used hard language on them being frustrate that I am controlled by the people who had no glue about industry. Right after that completely removed motive from my truck, used paper log and switched to over provider. That was two years ago
I keep a trip sheet for my ifta for a backup, and every time I compare with Motive, they have been exact.
Nice job. I think the added content of product and services reviews was a great idea. I hope it expands your channel. I trust your unbiased opinions. But if you are the administrator with your motive, you can login and edit that drive line to personal convenience yourself if your driver makes that mistake. Once you edit it it will still show on the drivers log on the drive line, but it will be marked PC so it won’t count against his/her drive time.

We had the same issue on a 34 where the driver moved from a reserved spot to a free one. Motive will allow you to change it now.

I just got my eld thanks to your recommendation and let me tell you that you nailed it with the cables 😂 Wrong ones were sent and no matter how much I told them which part number I needed from their shop to include emailing them pictures of my unit connection, they still messed it up.
I've been using Motive since 2014, when it wasn't even an ELD yet. I totally agree with you about the software quality; however, it is a completely different story when it comes to changes in that software. I've been waiting for fixes for almost two years now. Another thing I like is their public API. I use it a lot to automate my business processes
Miranda, I have to agree with you in everything you mentioned about Motive ELD... especially and more specifically!!!! They(Motive) ALWAYS manages to send the wrong cables!!!!!😂😅

I totally agree with your opinions including the fact that they sent me the wrong cable. However, as your company's administrator, I believe it is possible for you to edit your driver's log from driving to PC

🏴☠️Other than paper logs, and boy, those were the days... I've only ever used Qualcomm and have no complaints other than, like you, Miranda. The price! Everyone got their hand in the truckers' pockets.

Miss Miranda!!! One big important issue i had lately in GA with DOT giving us violations to drivers that did not know how to put ELD motive in inspection mode and send DOT officer the 7 day log!!! Please drivers!! Make sure you all know how to send your logs on inspection mode to officers!! Lately they will help you as before but come back with a fine!! I found that shady!! Those drivers got a DOT fine but i do not see on green book a violation code for " not knowing how to send logs" look it up Miss Miranda!! Maybe i missed something

@sjfk1306 I totally 👍 agree with you!! Specially older drivers that are not so up to date in technology. But the trap was that DOT acted friendly assisting like if everything is cool but come back with a fine!!! Low blow!!!!
@@carloscortes5570 yea, that happened to me as well. Dealer drove my truck after some repairs and he got me for unassigned driving even though I had the receipts and service statements with me that showed dealer had the truck during the unassigned time.

By the way motive change now you can change driving to personal conveyances. The administrator is the only one that can change it. So this is great news because mistake do happen.
They are super expensive I have two trucks with them and I pay $720 a year ridiculous amount.
I wanted to get motive keeptruckin on my new company last week and they told me $70 a month for the most basic one they have for one truck and i was paying $30 with the company i was with before i started my own company and yes it was keeptruckin, they said it's expensive because my company is new, what does that have to do with getting eld? That's crazy I'm still looking around.
We prefer MY20. We haul AG products and they are perfect for that.

Motive quoted me 100 a month i told them no way i got abetter quote and theyre like best we can do is $85 a month thats double than what you mentioned in just 2 months difference
Can't thank motive enough. I tell my driver how to check in and where to turn 5 mi before he tries to get to the facility because some of them do not have numbers or signs. Motive is great!
It's not bad when you use it in US, however it's getting confusing when you use it in Canada and US, specifically when crossing the border , other than that it's OK
A good eld is the eld you can play around with if you know you know

Miss Miranda its true what you say about the safety aspect of motive butnyouvcant rely on that for accuracy!! I have had notices of events that say crash detected and there's nobody no vehicles around the truck.pot holes.big bumps.activate false warnings.sometimes you need to brake a little harder like if a light suddenly changes to red .then it says accident detected when it was not..in another truck you could hit a cow and u would get no notice!! So that part of motive is wack...about your interruption in the 34 hr reset and drivers not choosing PC before driving there's a way to fix that but i am not going to expose that in public..i can email u and tell u..that way u guys won't have that problem again.
Bed experience with Motive. IFTA miles were always wrong . Some quarters we had over 5000 miles difference between their system and odometer. Customer service is horrible. Got violation because ELD showed two different cities were I went to sleep and woke up. Too many issues to list I would not recommend them at all.🤷♂️👎
I had motive since keep trucking.only had 1 issue in 5 yrs due to an update.app kept freezing.also after driving it would not allow you to change status.its a good app after all.specially because u can " do a few things"😊 to make it work on ur favor in case of "urgency "😊 ill leave it at that.
Have ran motive the last 2 years without issues. How do you view the telemetry? On the driver side of the app i cant view any of that except for mileage on the ecm
Miranda, I use motive and You can definitely edit drive time to PC from the carrier dashboard, just have your driver sign the log first and You ll be able to edit. I ve done it more than once.

Remember the supreme court restored chevron law from 1984 and earlier stuff in chevron. Trucking has at least a year for new admin trump to fix any department related to trucking thru chevron. Surpreme court has saved chevron and this is great. Try to learn what its about.
Iam using since last 3 years I have fuel integration thru fleet one once my driver takes fuel it reports automatically in motive fuel purchases
Motive was caught reporting violations to FMCSA. Besides it’s not suitable for small carriers and operators who not willing to go for 3 years contract (that’s why not using them). Besides it does its job well in lane with same level players Samara etc.
I like Motive alot. Lots of features. Simple to use. I am a fan of both the admin side and the driver side.
Anyone here using the Garmin elog?
I do, It works but error codes did show up when I had it sit for 2 weeks and with power cut off to main batteries. garmin claims it disappear after 24 hours of use, it did disappear the first time that happened afterI installed the app and started to use it.
Call me old fashion but the JJ Keller paper logs are pretty cheap especially by the month lol.

I’m a little surprised that Tesla hasn’t come in and taken over this market. ELD’s all have one thing in common. They are amazingly bad at what they do. My company is testing about half a dozen different ones right now. I’m glad we are changing but I have no real hope that what we end up with will not suck. I am grateful that we are trying but I have no hope. I think there’s such a disconnect between programmers and the real world.
I just got to the part where gave the price… OMG! That’s criminal! Tell them you will pay their price minus $30 every time it crashes. You will make a fortune!
anyone know what cable you need for a 2019 Freightliner I'm getting one in a few days and I'm using motive and don't want to have the wrong connection when I pick it up
The bad, in my experience with fuel stops being generated by AI is,
Most of the time it doesn't make sense. And it seems like its and extra non paid stop that disrupts the flow of the day. Now for drivers looking to find reasons to stop, they might agree with the AI telling them where and when to stop.
That's my 2 cents.
Let me plan my fuel stops, however, I will consider the suggestions AI provides
Unfortunately, you can’t use Personal conveyance to go to truck stop by your driver.

We use motive. I have had no issues with it in 3 years. Pretty good ELD
U can ignore those times now. I have done it many times and continue to hit reset.
They don’t let you cheat cause they got caught… well that’s what I heard when it was keep trucking…. A few buddies of mine had it …

We use geotab. Im leased to kaplan trucking and they said its easier to keep track of what they need. Its also easy to use.
One big issue with e-logs for drivers is the company sets the rules on how they can use certain features. Such as personal conveyance.
The FMCSA clearly states that a driver needs a FULL 30 hours reset after a cycle. Recap is illegal and should not be allowed. Broker fees happen when a carrier isn't effective at communication. 🤷🏾♂️
Milehigh I don't understand ur 30 hr reset comment?? Not contradicting u or being disrespectful. I do OTR always worked with 34 hr reset..Been ( unfortunately) trucking for 17 yrs since completing my enlisted time in the Army😢should had stayed!! Anyways always 34 hr reset but I learned to avoid that by never driving over 9 hrs a day..always get added hrs..use eld on my favor not against me.like using agricultural exemption. HDC etc when it's legal to do so.i have drivers that get exhausted driving long hrs trying to make money just to have to park for 34 hrs to reset.
Yeah it’s 34 hours and recaps are legal
I think he meant 34 hrs, but there are a lot newer drivers who have only worked at companies that get them home weekly. Some companies say you have to do a mandatory 34 hr restart, thus some drivers assume, or are told that it's the law. Kind of like the myth that it's illegal to have a firearm in a commercial truck. Some companies inentionally lie about that, instead of just saying it's against company policy.
Big Road ELD is good
Motive does not allowed to cheat. Hence it does not work for carrier running on the spot market.
The ELD from the Russians are the best, can always edit and add extra hours.

You are 100% right My opinion Its BS , I use 2 years this motive … have level 1 inspection in SD and put me out of service because of the motive doesn’t work properly and officer can’t send online transfer to his computer … contact motive and ask to do something about this problem and said sorry I can’t do anything about it I said will put me out of service for your loog book Sorry sorry and hung up!!! NOT recommend this Loog book for anyone

Motive is better for me, because it tells me when and if I could do a split. Big road qouln't do that for you
motive increases their prices as they please whenever they want and they won’t let you cancel even if you are not using their services anymore. stay away from motive.
Motive is not a good Company, very predatory Business practice. Their contract renew every year, without warning, without email or letter.. Tried to cancel after 3rd year. They told I would have to pay for the whole year which was $1600, I Just stopped my card, now my contract is auto renews next month, I have written emails to Billing, no response…..
Motive customer service is the worst I already gave one year Advanced I just wait to complete my paid plan and I trust this machine I don't know why you promote this keep tracking fake ELD

Motive is honestly the worst eld I've dealt with.
I hate to admit it, but I do like the product. N, I'm not an eld fan.
I wouldn't go to any other ELD,Motive has been EXCELLENT to me since 2020. The customer service is never in a rush to help you,& even knows my concerns before I ask the next question. Only issue is SOMETIMES understanding the broken English. HELLO MIRANDA !

How to find out fuel station location in motive ?
There isn't such an option as far as I know. I use RTS for fuel
