I’ve been a truck driver for 21 years and have seen some unnecessary complications over the course of time. This takes the cake. If you ever wonder why you can’t seem to get good, experienced, dependable drivers. Just show them this video. They will says “Thanks” and find a job somewhere else.

I don’t see what’s so difficult about it, it’s pretty basic and straightforward.

If you don’t see it that way. Then, this must be for you. I can’t explain it. Gear jammers that have trucked their whole adult life just don’t do all this technical garbage. They drive hard stay prepared, know their equipment very well and get the job done without excessive contact with middle management to babysit.

How can we put split sleep in thus log book please explain

From what I have seen it auto applies it. When you rest 7 or 8 hours on SB it will give back what you had before sleeping, then after completing the other part of the split on SB or OFF your 14 hour clock will be adjusted to start at the end of the first SB period (the large one)

Have used both those models. The Samsung tablet model is way faster than the other one

The company I work for had Peoplenet equipment for years and recently decided to move to another provider. I don't know if the newer Samsung displays have solved this but PD5 were riddled with issues, mainly random disconnections from the PMG (all reds on the signal icons), data/gps signal drops (logs not updated back to the portal and missing location/odometer issues on the logs, not being able to transfer log on a roadside inspection) and even random shut downs. Drivers had to pull over to disconnect and reconnect the PMG and display to get to work again. I was taken out of bed in the middle of the night many times to troubleshoot those things.
