Dawg I had a load that was a 90 mile drive. Worst load ever😂. It was 4 Mohawk mobile column truck lifts that were heavy and tall and needed to be tarped!! Loader said once they’re on the deck they won’t move! BS!! Had it chained, strapped and everything! Stopped about 5 times because 2 lifts were about to roll off the sides and they were too heavy to pull back. Turned into a wide load! Then I had to be there at a certain time which I didn’t make because the stops and traffic. And I was in them New York streets! When I got it off my trailer I said thank you Jesus😂😂
Broooo 🤣 I know that feeling!! Never heard of them not moving it after it’s on the trailer, thats some bs for real! But damn in NY too! Glad you made it safely but I bet you had some serious weight off your shoulders when you made that drop lol
@@HotshotMacc Let me tell ya!
Respect the movement.
Whats the most weight you can carry?
@@kemaredwards2703 About 9,500lbs
We’ve all been there haha
Thanks Bud for continuing your videos, they helped me focus on my goals. You are truly inspirational. And I appreciate you sharing. Thanks.👍😎😎😎
First week I started hotshotting I picked up 2 20 WM yard dumpster containers one stacked sideways in the other one going from ATL to NJ was a hectic drive but after that I knew I could haul anything lol
Top of the Morning Big Macc. Hope all is well and happy to see you still hustling. Big up....
Big up!
Hi Tim love the channel I’ve been following you since day 1. Great content. Future reference next time you have freight with doors that open without explanation just use 1 or 2 straps around it to hold the doors close. Remember D.O.T. Officers do not consider bungee’s as securement always use some type of ratcheting securement for ladder, 7 tarp securement. Keep up the fantastic content, and keep the positive vibe going and shout out to your rock the Mrs. Respect!!!
Love your content my Friend. No drama just the boring stuff that is everyday Hotshot. Please keep it coming!!
No time for drama, only time for the grind 💪
Appreciate that! Thanks for watching
agreed I did a big roof top ac from missoula montana to Tampa Florida and it needed tarped. I was going crazy wanting it off the deck the relief i felt when they lifted it off and signed that BOL brought so much joy to me. For me, in general, whenever i get that BOL signed i get a lil happy inside knowing that's more $$ to add to the war chest immediately after that is I got to find another load.
Ive done one of those but didn’t have to tarp it. That had to be a headache to tarp ! But hell yeah bro when you make that drop and get that BOL signed and confirmation of that money coming through is everything! Thanks for sharing 🙏🏽🫡💯
I live about 3 hours north of Houston. This weather has been crazy this winter.
Keep looking for the positive because if you're looking for negative you can sure find it.
Be safe out there
Most definitely bro, it’s all a choice 💯
And yeah man Im ready for this weather to be gone for good. Seems like it gets worse every year.
I live in Austin County tx...I'm out of the city and the Brazos river was pretty high level...
Stay safe out there...!!!!
Good to see another video
The rain has been non stop and I’ve definitely seen some high rivers and bayous. Im surprised we didn’t get more serious flooding but thankfully it wasn’t too bad 🙏🏽🫡💯
Safe travels to you bro! Successful loads after loads is what its about. Always be safe on those ladders in those wet conditions too...anything can happen at any time so we gotta stay mindful of our safety bcuz its our livelyhood
That's a fact. You take care too brother.
Dawg your channel is soo inspiring 💪🏾, making a career shift from owning my own landscaping company for the last 8 years, you’re bringing our dreams of financial freedom to reality, keep it coming for us underdogs
You inspire me too. You got this, brother. 🤜🏽💥🤛🏽
Look good to see you back
Appreciate fam 🙏🏽🫡💯
One of my top THREE hotshot channels. Great content. Great spirit. You’re inspiring. Taking my first load today - Ohio to Fort Worth. Stay frosty.
It’s been some years back back I to drive a concrete pump truck from Baton Rouge to South Georgia it weighed over 132,000 pounds!!! On edge the whole way one of two of largest pump truck on east coast at that time!!!
Love that setup. 😎
I know your pain MACC. I’m here in San Antonio and carry those a lot. I’ve started putting two of the two inch staps together around the generator to hold those doors. Thanks for inspiring so many of us 💪🏾
I'm in San Antonio also. Just here trying to learn as much as I can before I get started. I'm leaning towards rv tow away just to get started. I'm a complete noob to this entire industry.
I had many days like that in the early 2000's when i was doing hotshot delivery ... i had an extended ford E-350 van with a 16' dump trailer hauling pipeline valves...
I hear that! I think we all have experienced those days lol if someone hasn’t then they aren’t really working 🤷🏽♂️
good to see you still on this grind... How is the health stuff going? Stay well!
Still at it brother! It’s going bro, still working on it but it’s been a bit better. Breaking habits are a challenge but we not giving up. Thanks bro 🙏🏽🫡💯
Thanks for the videos 👍🏻
Thanks for tunning in!
Should’ve just wrapped a ratchet strap around the old compressor and it would’ve secured the doors. Nice video though. I’ve been driving 18 wheelers for 8 years and finally bought me a hotshot setup and my authority just got approved so I’m starting in the next couple weeks hopefully. It’s nice seeing positive videos like yours because most nowadays are talking about how you can’t make it in hotshot anymore… not everyone is the same though so I think with the right mindset and determination you can achieve things that others fail at, like you said keep the good positive things on your mind not the negative things because they will drag you down. I hope you keep getting blessed and I pray I’m working towards my blessings.
Love the videos! I’m looking to get into hot shot trucking with no experience but RUclips videos and was wondering if you be willing to say the company you first leased on with when you started out? Or if you have any other company recommendations. Planning on starting out non CDL but eventually getting my CDL once I have some capital built up
The beginning of this video made me have a flash back to my high school coach in Alabama. He said “the only 2 things in this world you can control is your attitude and effort” I love getting the game from you OG’s man keep doing what you do and being positive ab it. This video has inspired me and ways you wouldn’t imagine. Definitely ab to sub to the channel ASAP!
Thank you for the kind words my man. Keep on keepin on 💪
@@HotshotMacc 💯💪
Hay when you had 32ft how often did you use the ramps looking at doing hot shot with flat deck no ramps what you recommend
Man I know the feeling.
Moving some 10-11ft water tanks through the Bay Area . It was windy and they just had an awkward shape to them had to stop multiple times to tighten straps and going under a few overpasses was sketchy AF. I was tense every second of that 3hr drive lol
Where yall at, my boi!!!
Mac, I have watched a lot of your videos, and you seem to be very experienced with the hotshot industry. I live in Texas too. I am very interested in doing what you do. What do need to do to get stared?
❤One thing i know about you killa, you both stanz on bizness.Keep pushing
I appreciate it brother.
It was actually 1-31-24 last haul load of the month 9.5 hour drive from the home base in Va- to Philly area . 3 hours alone was dead stop traffic , just letting this 10hr rest time hit so I can get home , that something to talk about how traffic kills the time , being so close to home but can’t make it , that was my 1-31-24
Definitely got to hustle harder now days. With these rates a lot of people dont know how to adjust to this market they expect to make 4 bucks a mile missing opportunity to make small steps. Small steps will get you to a mile
Fam, I had a boat I hauled from VT to Cali last summer, and that joint pulled me the whole time 😅😅. Worst ever! Made it, though! 🙌
Had a load of old rebar cut and put in bags. Crazy to strap down kept moving around and cutting straps left and right. Had scratches all over the place. Plus every time I looked in my mirror seemed the bags were 2 feet outside the trailer rail.
Man that definitely sounds like one to get off the trailer asap! Hopefully you weren’t going too far with it!
Ive got a load right now that im beyond ready to have off the trailer. Its 8000 pounds heavier than the rate con said it was. Im maxed out. And got 8.9 mpg the entire way to Tennessee from Florida. Im at a quiktrip half a mile from my drop. 8 am cant get here dast enough
Hope you renegotiate your rate since load was way heavier than expected.
@@deephouse2 was able to get a little more but not much. They said I could take it back, but I really didn't want to do that because it was already Friday evening in Florida. I was lucky to even have a load out
I love your videos but I’d love to see a little more of your load securement how and why you chain it the way you do. Great video I love your channel
We occasionally hold in-person cargo and load securement classes. If you're interested, you can learn more at www.macctransportandlogistics.com/training
What spread sheet you use to keep up with expenses and load pay
All right seen your RUclips channel on this why not getting a gooseneck trailer with rubberized sightings like the semi truck have, would this be better for you to get what I am talking about.
I think in my opinion it could work out but this is an idea for you to think about
Bro, there's been a hell alot of times when I'm driven with some lumber that don't want to stay together the hell off my trailer, some messed up ass pallets to Midland fr San Antonio lol you know what I'm saying? 😅 So trust me, I feel ya man.. that sheet sux 😂
It do be like that sometimes, but we gotta do our best always.
Hey Mac, could you tell me what the monthly might be if I get trailer from Hotshot107 after sign lease with them?
I hope you guys are OK... haven't seen any new videos from you guys....
I have lots of questions...I'm ready to get on the road and I'm hoping you guys can help me find a company that I can work non cdl hotshot...
I have my own equipment all paid for and I just want to work...
Hey Macc I can’t ever get a straight answer when it comes to federal and state inspections. I’m from TX but I do run out of state so do I need both a federal and state inspection ?? I get people telling me I just need a federal inspection since it cover all states and other people telling me I just need a State inspection.
Had to transport giant paper rolls... (Smh)... Immediately felt the weight! The company wouldn't let me go to the shipper to take any of them off either. Super upset, so heated! I always got it back to the yard safely (Fortunately...) and I only had to drive just under a few hours. But that was a very uncomfortable "just under a few hours" every time and couldn't wait to get away from that load as soon as I picked it up.
U should've put straps over it to keep doors from opening
Cant leave la casa with that energy bro… love ya but if you want move a side I’m come grab that load for you.
Saying it with respect and love… #Motivate #Elevate
Who do you order your merch with?
How do i get started?
Not a comment but a question I have a class a CDL I am a local tri-axle dump truck driver. Also have lowboy experience in dump trailer experience in town driving highway driving rule, 2 Lane Rd. driving but I don’t have any over the road experience do you know of any companies that are looking for just drivers I’d really appreciate it if you could help me out. Thanks I love your content and continue to watch.
What's going on with hotshot youtubers not posting videos anymore...???
Great video. What size tarp is that?
20x27 Lumber tarp 14 oz with 6 foot drop : www.myteeproducts.com/?acc=cf9e7c5f147d43b44d34d6e45d516725
Allentown pa. Had 2 big signs made out of pressed foam. Super light should have been a gravy load. An absolute nightmare. Wouldnt stay put couldnt tighten straps down too tight as it would damage the signs eben with edge protectors. Worst 300 miles ever!
Awesome vídeos ! Would u recommend this as a side gig ? I am a small business owner and I have a truck capable of doing hotshot. Would it be something I could do when my other business isn’t as busy or is it something you need to dedicate 100 percent of the time !
Truckin's overhead its a bit much to do this part-time or as side gig base on my personal experience it will required 100% of your time.
Just got my dot number last night now waiting for the mc to get approved
Slowly but surely 🙏
I see you got the good Peerless binders
Yessir 💪🏽
Say Mayne how old a truck got to be to start hotshot because I got my CDL and I'm not trying to work for no body but myself if I have to I trade in my car to get a truck
Nice Rig 👍👍🇺🇸
Thank you!
It sucks but it’s easy to be positive while your trucks running, once it takes a shit (and it will) the whole story changes
Pickup up a load of ADS pipe in WA state in route to Saltlake City UT. Booked it at 5000lbs, ended up weighing 9000lbs. Snow and ice storm the whole way. I called up the broker and got $800 on top of original rate. Still wasn't worth it.
I see ya Yawdie!!! You should have ran 1 strap all the way around for them doors
Man that’s the exact plan I had in kind but they wasn’t with it 😤 but yuh dun know already 🙏🏽🫡🇯🇲
Good man dont cut corners it is what it is I know it sucked to tarp that thing
Most definitely not cutting corners, then next thing you know we have a claim. It did suck tho lol
Probably my worst feeling load was a small freezer shipping container and a 72 chevy truck that came out of a fence row where it had been for 30-plus years. The container door would come open, and the truck was falling apart. I almost turned this load down when I saw it, but my word is all I have, and if people can't depend on it, my business won't survive. That trip was 1800 miles from KY to AZ. By the time I got there, the truck was tarped to keep it together and straps on everything. It was a great paying load but along trip of worries.
Hi Guys My husband have a Ram 3500 Diesel 8 feet bed. He wants to haul Vehicles, and freight. He was th😅inking to get. 35’5 PjJ Gooseneck trailer. We heard that there is a certain length that has to be. Any feedback on that?
My husband is asking would that be too long?
Thinking about getting into Hot shot trucking…I’ve driven everything short of a semi so seems like it’s the thing for me to do. Any advice? Tips?
Absolutely, hotshot trucking can be a great choice if you're experienced with various vehicles. Start with proper equipment, know your routes well, and stay flexible. But remember, make sure to do a lot of research and completely understand what you're jumping into. Good luck out there!
If you're staying primarily in TX, why not run the TX hos clock instead of the interstate clock? When you go off duty with the TX clock, the clock stops unlike the interstate clock. Plus you get 1 extra hour drive and 1 extra hour shift.
Because I don't only stay in Texas, and most of the time i go over the 150 mile radius that the FMCSA allows
@@HotshotMacc I understand that. Whether you stay within 150 miles or not, doesn't mean you can't use the TX clock. Within 150 miles means you don't have to run a clock. As long as you don't leave the state more than 8 times a month, you're allowed to run the TX clock. If you leave the state, you switch to the interstate state clock and after your back in the state for 8 consecutive days, you can then switch back to the TX clock. And that is per the fmcsa. Been doing that for years......
Why you do not use a Atego 1523 M. B ?. it is a lot better for the driver ( more space, webasto heater nice bed )...😊 and bisc air brakes...
No idea what you’re talking about bro
Had a big ass grinder i picked up in Iowa going to South Carolina. Thing was awkward as hell, 8 foot wife, 10 foot tall, it just completely destroyed my gas mileage 😂
Man those are the worst! Feels like your driving against a wall 🤣🤣 Im dodging those type of loads unless the money talks 😎
@HotshotMacc yeah man, learned my lesson the hard way. Stay safe out there brother
Bro where did you go
If it’s so good where you been?
How and where can I get a twik (or however it's spelled ) card..?
TSA website will have a list of places you can apply for a TWIC at.
We have a link on our website under resources that will take you to the website to apply.
They also have pop up trailers where u can run right in and get it by appointment of course and identigo does it as well
Looks like the shipper was right about the doors. I would've pulled the bungee cords out and wrapped them all close!
The shipper was talking only about the one that was requested to be tarp for that reason. The one coming back didn’t matter so I paid it no minds. Doors open then they get closed.
Every load! Get it off!! 😂
Nah for real!!!!! 💯🤣🤣🤣
Glass 😢
Everytime I load shipping containers I can’t wait to offload them
I agree on that! Super easy to haul, but that wind drag is a killer, and if you have a head wind, say goodbye to your profits, its going into your tank..
Only thing worse then a shipping container is a ISO tank, thats just a damn parachute behind you..
@@JasonM-yg7kd I’ve hauled those too catches wind in every corner I’m from west tn so I’ll pick them up out of east St. Louis and bring them down to Memphis when I’m trying to get to the house doesn’t make much profit but it pays fuel home
You don’t have an auxiliary tank?
Yes I do. 100 Gallon
@@HotshotMaccgota have it. I didn’t have one for awhile, killing me, but even that extra tank does nothing in them west coast mountains , burn through it. Do you have it gravity fed? Or you pump it?
@@HotshotMacchow do you feel about taking loads to Mexico? That’s where I live, but I’ve never ran over there. A little nervous but we talking about 5$ a mile all day.
I’d just wrap a strap around that machine to keep the doors closed
Anything cardboard boxes and shrink wrapped. I hate em🤦🏾♂️ especially in the rain
Man thats a fact! Im tired of cutting off shrink wrap bc I’m looking wild going down that road! And boxes definitely don’t help 💯💯🤣🤣
Shipper know that wooden crates would be more sufficient for shipping on a open deck but that would be to much like right. But I did see the cargo nets with ratchet ends work pretty good with keeping things like that intact for the most part. So ig it’s up to us drivers to do all the critical thinking for the cheap 😂. Praying for better days for our trucking community @@HotshotMacc
Is your hot shot cdl?
Yes
Two 20ft ISO tanks (like containers) from Chicago to Houston. Worst f load ever. Never will I move them again NEVER.
Those ISO tanks are pretty awful, and the fuel efficiency while hauling them is not great at all. I know the feeling.
Was. The title of this aimed at baby lion hotshot
None of what I do is aimed at anyone. That’s not my style. But I’m not even sure why it would be.
@@HotshotMacc sorry on my feed it was him title hots shots dead then like 3 hours later your video with that title
Imma be honest Tim probably should have just thought that and not wrote it but I'm tired and got a 40' and 2 Kaufman 3 cars I can't fill so is what it is.
Had load of plastic pipe.
I’ve always stayed away from those bc they just look sketchy. Why do you hate them?
Most def not "hotshot" tho
Why not put a strap around the unit to keep the doors from opening?
5min job.
The second one that I picked up I didn’t really care about bc they didn’t. And honestly just didn’t wanna take the time to do it. It was nothing of possible harm.
