Hey man so enjoy your videos. I passed you the other day in GA on 285 in my Semi because of your helpful information I got my little brother doing hotshot
Blessed
That’s what up bro 🙏🏽
Yo! Do you have fam in Cincinnati!? That’s where I’m from! Yea man I follow yo channel closely, I did everything you taught us! And you got me out here gettn it!!!!!!
You did it man😄👍
Gotta do what ya gotta do!
Thank you for the content. You give me a escape. Thank you
Thanks for supporting!
Thanks for the great vid! Keep it up!
🙏🏽
I can't wait to start my journey
Positive vibes bro, I'm new trying to get in the game. Got to love the exhaust brake lol. Mine is a 16 exhaust brake stay on
Seen you pass by in Charleston. Great videos. Working on starting my hotshot Cdl trucking soon
That’s awesome bro! I was definitely rollover through Charleston the other day! Good luck with everything!
❤❤❤awwwwhhh that’s sweet
West Virginia can be aggressive on the brakes..
Family FIRST! good decision
🙏🏽
Stay safe brother keep the shiny side up
Most definitely my guy!
Nice video! The fuel usage is CRAZY through there and there is never any fuel stops. I had to do the same thing once to carry a load that paid near $4 per mile. I gave up my tote with spare fluids, spare tire from the trailer and a chain that was old.
Yeah! It was crazy but also a lesson learn
Great video
Glad you enjoyed it
If you get in a bind, your trucks spare should fit the trailer.
The suggested speed on off ramps and curves is the speed recommended for trucks
Brooo, if we couldve communicated you couldve dropped that stuff off at my house in va and i wouldve either held it for you to make another trip through or shipped it out to you. Sucks you had to get rid of those items but i am glad you were able to make the trip on time and didnt have any issues so that ud need that spare! Hope the holiday was a great one with the family
Man I had no time to think at the time. But now I know for the next time 🙏🏽
@@HotshotMacc i believe it, its all good! If theres ever a next time just reach out. Merry xmas to you and your wife bro
Thanks for all the good information we are out of South East Houston looking for work 32 Pj non cdl.Any help would be appreciative
Loved the video… I don’t think tho I would of driven that fast up the hill tho.
I know now for next time
Back when I was non cdl I had similar situation. Was in Washington, picked up a load going to Oklahoma (from Arkansas) so was going home for something, holiday birthday I forget. Tarp went, dunnage went. And ran without fuel in aux tank. Part of the game I guess. I was able to keep my good tarp. Got rid of a big 8’ drop I picked up on side of the road that was good but did have some holes in it.
Dang bro that’s the same thing I did!
Nice video bro
Thanks bro
Good video, next time get a mini storage near truck stop, usually $1 first month. You don't make it back you can then take a loss. Just a thought. Keep it rolling, thanks for sharing.
Thats not a bad idea at all! Ill keep that in kind, however on this run I literally had no time time to do anything other than lose the weight immediately and continue running lol
I really enjoyed watching your video and I would like to learn more about oversized load. I’m very interested in hauling oversized load I never did it before even though I been doing non CDL hotshot trucking over a year.
They pay pretty well and are a nice challenge to do every now and then. I may do a video on Oversized Loads explaining process
Dang sorry to hear about loosing your 14ply...I drove like 7 hrs to replace one because how limited supply they were. Luckily it was in same route as my drive.
Man it happens. I just had to be resourceful at the time 😩. Yeah the supply is low
Wish I was still out. Some how my frame cracked. Both I beams. 2022 PJ 40ft torsion axles. Right where the axle brackets are weld to frame. And never even got close to max weight.
Wow that’s crazy man, sorry to hear that! Hope they take care of you and give you some kind of incentive to get you back on the road asap!
Great Video on how you used your head to play with that weight..
Thanks brotha! Has to think fast man.
Fuck DOT! You gave up important stuff including a spare trailer tire 😳. That’s fucked up!
I would have taken my stuff, items cost to much and are getting harder to find, you just cost yourself some cash young brother.
Try renting a U-haul storage. Thats what I did before crossing Canada 🇨🇦. Came back for it days later or ask manger to store back of building .
Did what u had to do. Maybe it will still be there
I wish I had the time. That day time was of the essence since there’s driving restrictions with an oversized load during the holidays
Maaan where’s that spare and Tarp lol I’ll go pick it up and put it to use haha
Lol man I’m Virginia
Can we get a breakdown of your first weeks with own authority:)
I might be able to do that bro! Just need some time, been very busy lately. Thanks for the support.
Do you have to have a twic card for the port freight
Yes!
Tim, congrats on your success with your biz. I was wondering, what is the specs on your truck? I am debating between a dually and a 2500 like yours, concerns with the 2500 is tow capacity. Can you help me out w/that bit of info please?
(Breaking into the biz in GA) Stay safe out there sir.
If you gonna be non cdl with a trailer no longer than a 32 footer then a 2500 is going to be fine. Anything longer than that then you gonna need a dually. Also once you start hauling Heavy stuff with HS fuel economy becomes bad. You might as well go with semi.
I use a 3/4 ton for non cdl hotshot. I'd recommend getting a dually if you can find one. That way when it comes time to make progression you atleast have a good truck.
If you don’t get a dually on the first go around at least make sure it’s a 1 ton and a long bed with a larger size stock fuel tank.
I say if your running NON-CDL...use a 2500 so you can plate the trailer at 16k. If you use a dually, you can only plate the trailer at 12K..that means, when you go through the scale house your trailer cannot read over 12K on the axles. 2500 is the only way to go in NON-CDL. Take it from the guys that have bought Dually's for non CDL and highly regretted it, like myself!
Hey bro there’s definitely some good feedback under your comment but I would add if you have no plan to get a CDL (which I think you should consider getting before starting bc there’s a lot of changes happening) the 2500 will do the job, of course the dually has more tow capacity but for the weight that you pull non cdl you don’t need it. It also depends on what kind of trailer your planning on having as well. The tow capacity on my truck is 19,680 and I’m hardly ever near that. And its 4x4 with a 3.73 gear ratio.
Hey man. Tell me please. What was your MPG on this RAM 2500 at the time you worked? Thank you!
I was averaging loaded 11-12 MPG
Dang man if I got rid of a tarp, spare/wheel and dunnage I’d be close to a grand 😳😳😳
For what I paid for mine I was at like $540 for everything
@@HotshotMacc Your right man I was exaggerating in my mind there, had to check the actually numbers😂 I do have a new 14 ply on a brand new black chrome spare. Not sure why it’s the only black chrome wheel I have but it came with the trailer 😅
Y esas botas de vaquero lol
Ahhhiiiii 🤣🤣
Liked this video. Seen the Sharon dawes exit and my old church. Born and raised in cabin creek. I have been following you for a while. I just quit driving a little over a year ago and really miss being on the road. Message me your tire sizes and I will see what I can come up with.
You got extended warranty bro? I see you’re close to the 100k mile mark.
I’ve always wondered what it be like as a hotshot..
nice. i haven't come across having to get a permit, where do you get them from. are you able to make a video on that to explain
The permits are for OD/OW loads
@@HotshotMacc that I know. Question was where would you get it?
@@fatimarosedispatchingservi2753 hey my bad I missed your questions but wifey gets them from a 3rd party company ill have her DM you on IG about it. And I think I am gonna do a video explaining the OD loads process.

How Long is your trailer?
This one was 32ft
Great video as usual. I have a question as I run a 3/4 ton also and max GVR on truck is #10,000. What did they say with you still being over on truck 120lbs? That’s the situation I’m always fighting as my truck is too heavy to begin with with loaded aux tank, gear, and dog etc
I had to get rid of things in under to be in compliance
What size / type of tires are you running 👍
On the truck or trailer?
Truck , I'm also interested in doing hotshot. Just gathering info 👍
Do you always drive in 4 wheel drive when you taking a load? Also, do you have e a weighted license plate?
How much is the maximum weight u can haul with CDl?
It all depends on the set up you have and the GVWR
How do you get a permit and when do you know you need a permit?
You’ll need a permit for all Oversized Loads for each state your running through with it. You can either go directly through the state to get the permit or you can pay a third party company to do it for you.
@@HotshotMacc And what if it's a non-oversize load, do you still need a permit for the States that you will be driving through? Thank you for your answers and your time.
Have you replaced your atf fluid yet?
Yes I recently did a full service on my transmission a while ago.
Hey man i recently leased on to a company whats the average wait time for them to give me a fuel card. and when i signed and stuff said there they had them but i asked and they said oh umm we dont got them yet. Whats that mean?
That sounds a bit dishonest bro, you should have a fuel card on the day of orientation before you are dispatched on your first load. Maybe they just don’t have a system in place yet for their owner ops.
Don't trust them, every company I worked 4 gave me a card on day 1, or get your own.
@@kelvintorrence5994 thanks man I did end up getting one before I started RTS seemed alright to start off with👍 appreciate the advice
Hey my friend, you running a 2500 Cummins? I’m looking for a truck trying to stay at GVWR 10K. What trailer you running and it’s rating?
Yes I am running a 2500 Cummins.
I made a video about the current trailer I have here is the link. Hope that helps bro
ruclips.net/video/w7a4u32mWDY/видео.html
Went shopping today. Anything over the 2500 puts me overweight. Now to find a used truck and trailer. Appreciate your info and learning from you
Just get your CDL ,
I have my CDL now
I've been overweight twice...first time they (18 year old kid) loaded the wrong mobile crane. Wrong by over 11K! I stopped at a CAT scale, saw 31,600 and brought it back for the correct crane. Second time I had 9 pallets for a total of 1,600. After the first one hit the trailer...and it shook the truck, I knew something was way wrong. After he finished loading me, and before I threw the first strap, I pulled it on their scale and it was over 28,000. Apparently it was 9 pallets at 1,600 each! Nope...take it off! Tow Piglet posted a video last year about getting caught OW by DOT...he got another driver to take his spare tires for him. Have to be careful out here. And I'm sure you know about the CDL changes coming up in February...get that thing even if you take the test in your HS truck with the automatic and no air brakes restrictions as that changes it from criminal charges and OOS to overweight fines!
Once I got rid of some things I was good. But yeah you right. CDL coming soon ! 🙏🏽
Yoooooooo
Down '71
Gotta keep movin. I get it
Yessir!
CDL....
Almost done with training.
My guy, you were still over weight on your trailer axles. 7k each right?
he is non CDL he was over 26000 thats over weight.
@@rodmyers5187 yes I know he is Non CDL since day 1, however you can be under 26K in total weight and still be over weight on your axles. One thing has nothing to do with the other.
I sure was bro but the goal was to be under the Gross weight and hope for the best bc there was no turning back on this one. But my axles got worked for sure.
@@HotshotMacc 💪💯
Bro you weren't over weight. You just had too much weight on the trailer and trailer axles. You could have had some place or someone with a fork lift move the load to the front a foot or two and you would have been fine. Happens alot with semi's when the loads are not balanced sometimes your total weight and some axle ends up being overweight till you slide the axles or 5th wheel.
He was still over the GVWR on his truck so he couldn’t adjust the load or move it forward any further. He was under on his rear axle but still over 10K for his truck even after the reweigh. Ditching items was his only choice.
Dude gross weight can not be changed by moving it around, no matter how I stand on my scale I weight the same. He has no CDL his max gross weight is 26k #. Gross is the total weight of everything so you have to dump stuff to lower your gross. I think he only has two 7k trailer axles I could be wrong and he has 8k, but he is still very heavy for a 2500 might even be over the GCVW and risking a lot by doing it.
Yeah I was definitely over on my trailer axles and that was my fault on where I had them place the load. I miscalculated trying to avoid having my drive axles overweight. But my total weight was over 26k so I did at least get under that to somewhat be off the radar. But if the right officer got me and looked at my ratings, i still would have been overweight on the axles.
@@HotshotMacc I'm glad things still worked out for you and kinda sucks that you had to get rid of expensive supplies. You live and learn.
Get a CDL, problem solved.
That’s in the works. But until then, this is what I’m working with. Also have to get equipment so its more to it than just getting a CDL.
hey man love the content you put out ! keep it up and grinding brotha ! if you need a helper feel free to shoot me a message or sum . i got a 2020 GMC Sierra 2500HD with a 30 ft trailer ready for the road ! im based out of dallas texas so not far from you . hope to hear from you soon & stay safe patna !
Hey dude! I’m heading out to Austin in 2 weeks to start hotshoting best of luck! Pm me would love to work with you
Hey bro appreciate the love and support! I have a link in the description to fill out a lease on inquiry form if that’s what your looking to do.
Just curious: What would have happened at a weight station if you're slightly overweight? Don't they have some tolerance?
No they don't! I will explain-- if he were to go thru the scale house 1 pound overweight, it is a complete bad day! 1) huge fine 2) out of service for 10 hours. 3) being that the trailer is overweight, he has to get a CDL trailer to that scale house. Move the load to the CDL trailer and repower the load. He can't just hook another truck up to the trailer and go. He has to move that load to CDL trailer. This is an EXPENSIVE mess!!! Trust me!
Great explanation! Thanks!
They have no tolerance. Check the other reply. Great explanation.
They have tolerances for semis cause the drivers hold a CDL license but not for non cdl hotshot drivers
Can u please share that company you used to study for your cdl permit?
I used an app called CDL Prep to study for my permit. Its free and has all the questions and answers. I used the blue one
