- A few weeks ago I was invited by Bungie to check out a preview of The Final Shape. Now everything shown and what we got to play with was a dev build and is subject to change but for the most part, we got to experience a lot of what The Final Shape has to offer. Today I wanted to give you a little preview of what's to come and discuss some of my first impressions.

just watching everything melt on this gameplay footage is mesmerizing.
You can see also the hesitation in some spots where you seem to be in an "ability overload" situation where you're struggling to choose how to execute everything out that's available to you. It's like "why can't I carry all these abilities!?"
Yes and no, because most of this looks to be footage from down on planets where the easiest mobs are. It's cool to see it, but I want to know what the overall difficulty arch is going to be. If it's like Lightfall and there is no real divide between casual and hardcore, then I'm out regardless of how cool it looks. I want to be able to build to a point of doing a legend lost sector, not have them be so overtuned they are virtually impossible for any but the 1% minmaxers.
The ability overload is how bungie are balancing this

Since the prismatic reveal I kinda assumed that red subclass leak was just an early version of prismatic, especially because it had the icons from existing subclasses
Yup though it seems people got their hands onto it early and created something that wasn't really built yet somehow and then showed it off
does anyone else already feel like this seems half baked?
I'm not tryina doomer or anything but the concept of giving this new subclass all of the abilities of the other classes with hardly anything new of its own seems like a copout, and after lightfall I'm pretty skeptical of anything at this rate. Lightfall story trailer looked awesome too, and we know how that went.
@@mickthick6170No new stuff of it’s own? There are two whole new mechanics being implemented solely to support the new subclass, exotic class items and the transcendence meter. They’re also re-tooling/rewording multiple aspects and armor pieces to make sure they interact correctly. Finally, they’re also changing around some of the aspects to make them synergize better or just plain buff them. It’s actually really well thought out.

the exotic class items aren't exclusive to the new subclass so I would rule those out of the equation, they have function beyond that, and they're not exactly a new mechanic either
Aside from that we have the transcendence meter but even if we put both of those together, is that really more substantial than getting a whole new subclass, complete with new animations, abilities, subclass verbs unique to it, and all the other stuff that would come with a new, totally unique subclass?

Glad that everything seems like it’s going to be solid for final shape overall, can’t wait to experience it next week. Really do hope we get a third darkness subclass at some point to balance them out 3 for 3 and prismatic at the center point. Excited for the stories to come.

I hate this meme. It’s not random. It’s grenades and melees. It’s literally just 2 things and neither of them are randomized in either effect or aesthetics.
I like the idea that transendence is Bungie's way of giving titans and hunters the ability spam that warlocks have been enjoying for years... Heart of Inmost was almost there but not quite... we've been doing stuff like this for a WHILE now... it's why they're nerfing sunbracers cause they don't want us chaining it and being actually insane...

It makes sense that Bungie let CCs talk about the Final Shape, at least from the Prismatic side of things. As Cross said in the vid, if Prismatic isn’t feeling very powerful in the first week before getting access to all aspects and fragments and exotic class items, it’s like to cause a fair few people to publish negative reviews. So having CCs impresses upon their audience that it’s for the sake of raid balance, might reduce complaints to a certain extent.

Hers hoping the rumors (that came out pre showing of prismatic) that in one of the first two mini dlcs were getting is when we’ll get the third sub class. I need that third for the even ammount of light and dark 😭
Crazy to think that the Witness used Resonance(Darkness) to heal and empower Rhulk while we Guardians devoured, made volatile, and stole life energy with Void 3.0(Light).
Maybe Resonance is just paracausal energy as a whole? We’d then need to explicitly use it like the Witness or Precursors did for it to be like Darkness.
I think prismatic is supposed to be a darkness subclass, based on memory. Since the darkness subclasses are based on a state of mind or ideal. But that's just a theory that will easily be proven/disproven soon

At 0.25× speed you can see the Axe flying in as cross looks a little left then right suddenly like he's looking for a way out.
The Axe flying in at that speed looks phenomenal, flipping end over end.
There's a bit before it where it's from a Titan's perspective of throwing the Axe's, also looks brilliant at this speed.
I have seen the gameplay and info of the new exotic items, the one that interest me the most is the Warlock exotic chest. With that, arcane needle, and electric surge, you cover all champions with just three equipped.

Bungie releasing the raid on the same friday the expansion releases is finally them acknowledging the cleverness of the destiny community and how quick we can find broken/meta combos to become very strong.

11:46 - The two colors that make up Prismatic's dual color theme represent Light and Dark. The Light's pink is made up of blending the three colors from Arc, Solar, and Void. The Dark's blue/purple hue is made of blending Strand's green, Stasis' Blue, and Red. The exact hue of Red from the leak that was covered.
If you believe the "It wasn't real" line, I've got a bridge to sell you.

I certainly hope that people enjoy this expansion. I started Destiny in Jan. 2015 but quit in Dec. 21 & there's literally nothing whatsoever about Destiny that makes me personally want to re-install it.
I was in the same boat and decided to reinstall it. Right after title screen I went through 30 mins of can not connect to server so I gave up.
That footage from the old tower was nice.

Planning to throw on Vexcalibur as well for Void overshields and it's soon to be synergy with Stylish Executioner to be a walking wall.

Kinda hate when people get to play stuff early. That being said I know they had to build hype after light fall but damn the most fun thing about a new expansion is everyone discovering things and working stuff out.
100% agree. Spoils the excitement when everyone now can know about all the new stuff that’s coming out and what’s good and what’s not. Dnt get that launch day excitement with everyone trying all the new stuff and seeing what’s good

@@ihavestds394 Did they really reveal that much? Enough to ruin it? I find that to be a huge stretch. All they did was standard procedure when launching a new expansion and content really. Here is this new thing, this is kind of what it does. We still have no idea what the overall interactions will be like, what the builds will be like, what the story is. We don't know anything about the new planet. You guys are like the .001% of gamers then if you are disappointed with what they have shown so far. This is also marketing 101. You can't release a new product without showing some of what it can do or no one will buy it. They did nothing out of the ordinary at all here.
Plus...you didn't have to watch this, and you don't have to learn anything about the expansion if you want to go in knowing nothing. That is always an option. Instead you watch content about the expansion, and then complain the content about the expansion gives out information about the content of the expansion....I can't believe this is the world we live in right now.

I can’t wait to rebuild my consecration build with prismatic. Prismatic is going to ascend it to another level. Plus synthos is part of the combination exotics. They even buffed the ignition damage for consecration.

Bungie probably is going to disable aspects or the entire subclass before the raid so it doesn't make an impact
Except you can't use prismatic for the raid or you won't be because you don't unlock exotic class items nor the aspects etc until week 2 which is after the raid so it's pointless everyone us going to be running the usual raid gear.

From what the gameplay looks like, they were probably given special press accounts with everything unlocked and ready for them, and only allowed to play on maps that aren't in the traveler
They can't get their own hype train going, so they're trying to get others to do it for them.

2:08 You know, I think it would have been nice to have the Diamond system be integrated into the current fragment/aspect thing. We could have had each diamond focus on a specific role for each subclass… A Warlock Solar set of diamonds could have a diamond that focuses on healing yourself and other players, a diamond that focuses on scorching/igniting enemies, and a diamond that focuses on improving air movement and ability spam while in the air. Or for Void Hunters… One for shenanigans pertaining to invisiblity, one for debuffing enemies, and one for finishing off enemies with precision kills and finishers. And so on and so forth.
I want them to bring it back ngl, like a swap or sum, cause I liked the diamond system a bit, new system is WAY better but still.

Guarantee transcendence is going to come out hot and then nerfed into oblivion
From the visuals I dont see why you would ever use any other subclass again, which kinda sucks cos I like the variety of switchin between them

Oh, glad to know that the Renewal + Cytarachne combo does work. I saw that and thought it'd be great, but was concerned that Frost Armor and Woven Mail wouldn't stack. Also, Song of Flame looks like so much fun.
I hope they make it cannon that the 3 were there fighting inside the traveler with some lore pieces of cayde meeting them before parting ways

Sounds cool but my game purchase for June and days off dedicated to a game release is still going to Fromsoft and the Elden DLC.

Take the weakening of Voidwalker and mix in the buffing of Dawnblade.

He's probably just trying to watch what he says about it. That can come across as not excited when you're just trying not to spoil stuff.
Under NDA is hard, if he says one thing out of place or a hard leak/spoil he could be taken to court for literally everything he owns. Datto mentioned in his video he played some of the legend campaign but didn’t mention any story beats/ characters etc, he’s most likely just watching what he says

I'm not feeling a whole lot of excitement from a dude that got to play the supposed pinnacle of the light and dark saga early. That says it all. Lightfall 2.0 inbound.
He didn't play the full campaign so I feel like this isnt the correct takeaway.
I'm not expecting it to be life changing tier, but let us exercise some level of listening retention lmao.
@JihoonJKim compare this reaction, and others, to past instances when the youtubers and streamers got early access for marketing. Their actions speak louder than their words.
The majority of fans feel this way. These guys only still play/cover the game because it's their bread and butter. Speak to most at guardian con last year and most attendees hadn't played seriously in months. And those are the super fans. Many more have been lost in the last few years never to return. Bungie has dropped the ball over and over again. So much potential, and it's been squandered.
So were gamespot lying then? They said in their preview report that they played a majority of the campaign, just not the final mission.
Side note, I noticed in the Pale Heart, enemies are to your level but back on Neomuna they are still locked above power, why is that?
This is why cross can be a shill to Bungie.

@@hhaste Lmao. In all fairness everyone should get a shot at the beta since after all the players are the ones buying the dlc and if they are inviting content creators then all the players should also have the right to also give it a shot at least to play test and give feedback on the game.

The change from lights and beautiful to dark and dreary has to represent the Witness and Traveler having this battle of wills against each other. I'd assume it represents the Travelers struggle to keep the Witness's darkness from overtaking it. All the back and forth is shown to us in real time since we are indeed inside the traveler.
This is why I don't believe anything content creators say they are all bought by companies then act like they are on your side

-no legendary class item for raid
-prismatic won't be available during the campaign(only 1 time uses)
-Prismatic might have an abillity spam meta.
But overall, none of these are to serious

Bungie isnt about games they're trying unbelievably hard to be the most woke inclusive studio in the business. Its gross 🤢 and the game and story have suffered tremendously. Childish theme dumb down dialogue its really disgusting and sad. So in the vidoc these are some of the best humans male or female you have access to for creating and delivering content. Speaks volumes to me. Its easy to see where their intentions/interests lie 🤡 😢 🤢
