- Today I share a detailed range comparison both with and without long barrel on every SMG in Black Ops 3 to see if it's a worthwhile attachment. I hope you enjoy!

Suppressor range would be great, want to see the official numbers for these on SMGS and ARS. We know they're bad for LMGS so don't bother with these, but for sure, suppressors on SMGS and ARS and their ranges that are affected.

I think you have officially become my favorite COD youtuber. Not necessarily because of the quality and uniqueness of you videos; but it does play a part. I would love too see this for the ARs and shotguns. You're tip bids are the best because of the visual presentation, please do not stop making them
I've been using QuickDraw, grip and stock on my vmp in competitive and was toying with long barrel as a 4th attachment, this video helped a lot

Thank you for the breakdown and the way you put the shots to kill by distance and color. Made it super simple and a better understanding of the in game numbers compared to the map distance
As an additional bonus for the HG 40, it really improves the iron sight. It's much more clear and open with the long barrel attachment

+Steve the ar class is much more cookie cutter though. If i recall right every AR damage first drop off is like 30 ish meters (except kn44)

For Hardcore game modes..Long barrel on SMG has no change in shots to kill except on the HG-40. 1Shot kill ranges are: kuda=25m, VMP=13M, Weevil=20m, Vesper=8m, pharo=19m, Razorback=28m, HG-40=31M (39m/w LB)

You are doing in depth just as good if not better in videos like that, and even when you are doing the same, the fact that you are 2 different people does you approach it different, and therefor by watching both we end up even smarter than if he only watched you, or only drift0r!
Long story short - This is great - please make more if you are up for it :)
I made a video just like this, comparing no attachments, long barrel, AND suppressor, but only for maximum damage ranges for the sub machine guns. Like you mentioned, you should try your best to only use your weapon where it is most effective. Good video though. I also find a visual representation better than reading numbers on a chart. I went even further and showed myself using each weapon first-person, so people can see exactly what the distances look like when they play. Just a suggestion if you do decide to make another video like this, which you should. People find these helpful. :)
Good stuff Ace. I had a couple guys swearing by long barrel in hardcore on SMGs (even I used to use it before I knew the stats) and had to tell them it was a complete waste.

The minimum damage is decreased by 25%, not increased. An increase in minimum damage range would extend the 6 shot, or lowest damage range out to X, which wouldn't make sense because SMG bullets don't disappear. Long barrel on shotguns works this way, because the range at which the pellets disappear is increased by 25%.

Yes do AR and shotgun videos. I had this argument with my buddy about the lb on the kuda during 2xp weekend with him trying to level it up. We play hardcore so the graph will be a great explanation. Keep up the good work
Fantastic video. Would you create a similar video but show how suppressor impacts ranges on the SMGs and ARs? I really enjoy looking at the visual representations of each of the guns ranges. Your guide videos go above and beyond any other RUclipsrs guide videos. You actually take the time to provide us with visuals of the ranges, where as other RUclipsrs choose to give the range in yards. Much easier to follow with in-map examples. Great job!

Great video, noting that I much prefer this sort of visual representation far better than having a screed of numbers flowing at me. Matching the distances to a relevant map really helps me to "see" what I can reasonably expect from an attachment, and think of situations where it would be/not be useful. +1 Vote for doing a similar treatment for the other weapon classes!

Long barrel doubles all ranges on assault rifles. No video needed.
Apart from the KN. For some reason the suppressor and long barrel have very small effects on the kn44, so suppressor is excellent, and long barrel isn't for the kn only from the AR class

Added bonus for long barrel on the HG 40; for some reason running ti changes the iron sights to something much clearer so you get the extra 4-shot range and better iron sights which is a win-win. Now if only I could get that gun :(

+Doihaverabies yea I know that but I'm using long barrel for the challenges etc and I like using long barrel to cancel out the silencers negative affects on the range, before the silencer buff there was no point using the L barrel with the silencer but now after the silencer buff I wanted to know what the new statistics are and how much better the benefit is compared to the original statistics. Just saying :3

I think it helps alot because turns your gun into a all rounder.
Long barrel should increase the second damage ranges atleast for SMGs. I personally think it should just curve all ranges like it does for the pistols.i mean ARs get their ranges doubled using long barrel basically turning them into Lmgs.

I'd be interested in seeing the shotguns in the visual format you did with the SMG's. I think the AR's would be a waste IMO, since LB doubles the range of all AR's except the KN-44 if I'm reading the stat chart right. I think it's safe to say that LB on AR's is good!

Basically if the weapon has a high rate of fire, long barrel helps, otherwise drop it.

I'd like this see this for the shotguns, the two Brecci and the Haymaker mostly. Doesn't do much good for the other two.
Maybe the pistols as well for kicks. Kinda helps those going for Diamond on the pistols and wanting to know what kind of attachments are worthwhile.
I would like to see for shotguns, I haven't played BO3 yet but I have to imagine that long barrel can be a tad useful for the KRM seeing its always at most a 2 shot kill, could just get a long hitmarker on a uncespecting person at a longer range and drop someone with ease, especially in FFA with mostly one on one battles.

Does long barrel increase your accuracy at farther ranges? If not that's what it should do. Is increase your range for smgs and stuff with long barell so your more accurate in a longer firefight

Yeh do for assault rifles too, they are also very popular.
I knew Long Barrel didn't do anything. I kept convincing myself that Long Barrel increased damage in range up close but when I'm playing, I didn't notice anything different.

I still use Long Barrel on Argus though there is a good chance that the person you are in a gun fight with at that extra range has already been damaged by simething

i would really like to see the long barrel on AR video. I know the one burst range on the XR2 and M8 is 38m , i would like to see that actual physical distance on a few different maps
