I'm so sick of this stupid fucking argument. No one needs you to tell them to use something they're more comfortable with. People look for this kind of information because they want to know what equipment to invest all those hours into GETTING comfortable with, because it has an objective edge in one situation or another.
I love how open elo is but hate you can't change dot color (the red/orange can be hard to see at times, prefer blue our green) if a gun has open iron sights, like kn or dingo, I usually don't add a sight.
+Nitua Maybe an extra hour or two. Doesn't have to be great gameplay, just some in game visuals to show what your talking about. I think it would add a lot to the video.
+Jamie Stingmore When you work 12-16 hours a day and have a schedule to maintain an extra hour or two simply isn't practical. I agree it would've added a bit to the video but I would've had to skip a video for today and upload it over the weekend which I'm not willing to do because I have a very strict schedule that I like to stick to.
I prefer the BOA 3 sight because if I am playing on a game like fringe, where there are snipers in each Windows, sometimes I can not see them, and with the BOA sight i can tell if they are in my sight. Very helpful, and I also think the reticle is cool.
As a HC player, I almost always use the BOA sight. It doesn't give me much of an advantage, and can be misleading at times when it lights up Red and you aren't on target, but I like the Sight Picture and the clean reticle. It's also saved me on numerous occasions from killing teammates.
My staple gun is the gorgon with full attachments for accuracy. I'm more of a range shooter but I hate sniper rifles, hence the gorgon (plus it's a two hit kill :p). Because I usually keep a distance between myself and the enemy team I go for the BOA, just to give me the edge with identifying enemies against the background or those camouflaged well. I don't really go for sights on assault rifles, SMG's and handguns.
The thing about the BOA you missed is that if you are looking from a long distance away, it easily picks up on people headglitching AND sometimes it picks them up before they come around a corner, alerting you just an instant before.
Just a little tip: BOA is great for Nuk3town on LMGs... got a lot of wallbangs with it, because if an enemy is on the crosshair even through a thin wall (window rooms) it will show red, so it's a practical way to wallbang campers.
I pretty much only add sights if I have an extra spot available. Great video Ace keep up the good content. I'm going to watch some more of your twitch streams now btw I'm villaed1026 one of your subscribers on twitch.
Great video, thanks. One thing you mentioned is the color change that in Hardcore is sometimes helpful. Another thing I notice is that for me, meaning my low skill level and experience, is the BOA will turn red and I don't actually see an enemy, dark corners, head glitching or the like, and I'll just start firing and I've scored kills, not that it happens often but it actually has helped me on occasion to learn the maps. Not as much as your Maps Exposed series of course but still.
Despite its negatives, I've found myself liking Thermal sight with the single shot sniper rifles and the Sheiva. I find it easier to get those precision kills, and being able to lob out smoke with the Sheiva and just start nailing headshots on enemies that can't see you is quite satisfying. I often use the Recon for long range assault rifles like the X8A7, and I use it for the Drakon and P-06 just because I like the amount of zoom it provides. Close range weapons get the ELO or nothing at all.
I mainly use the recon sight on assault rifles and light machine guns; the red dot sight, elo sight (if I have it unlocked), or iron sights on sub machine guns; iron sights on shotguns; and the thermal sight on sniper rifles... It changes based on the gun and my current mood, but that's what I've gravitated towards over time.
For longshot medals I always use the Thermal, helped with the Man-O-War and KN-44 when getting them gold. But other than that and my XRX-20 (XR-2 variant), I don't use Thermal ever. And I always use the BOA 3 for finding enemies that are camping in a clever spot. But usually I'll go Reflex. I never use ELO or Recon. ELO was just harder to control, plus I'm making progress with the Reflex, I need to get 5 more black market sights, and then a campaign one and I've finished Reflex.
There isn't any sights I would consider my favorite but I would say that I like using the BOA sight on most mid to long range weapon (mainly on LMG). The color indicator really helps when people throw smoke grenades, the sight still picks them up.
Nice video. It would be good if you also compared the FOV to the iron sights on each gun class. Iron sights FOV stats: SMGs: FOV = 55 ARs: FOV = 50 LMGs: FOV = 45 Pistols: FOV = 60 Shotguns: FOV = 61 (Argus: 55) This is why I like iron sights on SMGs, to get higher FOV. I play on PC though, so it's easier to control accuracy, and my "hipfire" FOV is 100. Edit: Forgot to mention that these FOVs are from the Marvel4 spreadsheet.
+TheXclusiveAce Just want to clarify, I know you said there are no other statistical changes, so aim down sight time does not change? I think it did in AW when you would use a sight, would be slower. Just want to make sure.
I usually like to use the reflex on longer range guns like ARs and LMGs and iron sights on short range guns. The reason I like the reflex over the ELO is just that I'm more used to it because it's same thing we've had in every other CoD game so trying to switch to ELO all of a sudden just doesn't feel right.
I only use ELO. I don't know what it is, but when I put it on my gun it makes me feel like I'm moving faster for some reason. I think it's because the top of it is cut off, but I don't know.
I play a lot of HC and I typically run iron sites. However, if I find I'm playing a match where people are simply camping head glitches, the BoA is beast. It's a great "check sight" for those. I can sweep over a head glitch and if I get a flash of red on the sight I know to avoid or come at it from a different angle. (maybe even spray a few rounds at it)
I Use the iron sights or varix most of the time, with occasional thermal, because on PC it doesn't have as much of a disadvantage. I never touch the BOA or ELO, because I like custom recticles too much.
+TheXclusiveAce I'm the same way. I think sights are a waste of a point in your class. I only use Red Dot and Elo once in a while. Sometimes it feels like the sights give better hit detection. Only time I use sights is if I can't stand how the iron sights look. Even if I can play with them, I'll still put a sight on. I'm wierd, I know.
I almost never use sights on my guns. The only real exception is Varix on my MX Garand. My favorite sight would have to be Varix. It's so versatile and being able to change zoom levels gives me more of a chance at many different ranges of gunfights.
I like the red dot on most guns. The weevil and vmp are the only exceptions I can think of now. This might be a bit tinfoil hat-ish, but I feel like the red dot reduces recoil a bit more.
The recon sight is my favorite sight and I think it is the best for the LMGs or the snipers in my opinion. It reduces recoil and sway for all guns. But on the snipers and lmgs it makes your ADS faster along with the other effects. So on my lmgs I always run the recon with QuickDraw and laser sight attachments. Perks fast hands and gung ho. Since this game has ADS accuracy delay after sprinting use this set up to get my first shot off and recover from the accuracy delay as fast as possible. This works really well on the dingo since it has ADS spread.
I like the Recon on the KN-44 and the Gorgon, ELO is also one of my favorites to put on a lot of guns, and for me, the Locus is best with the default sight :D
+L The Almighty Destroyer of Worlds and Bringer of Rectal Fissures on all of them I run with the iron sights. Xr2 is a bit crap but once use to it they are fine. Saves a space on all those guns then
Picula No. I mean the Varix 3 scope. It's a placebo effect I know, but I feel like I can hit more shots on-point with the scope over other ones in the entire game. I'm also aware that the Recon sight gives you 6% less recoil due to it giving you extra center speed, but it zooms in too much for my tastes, especially for the SMGs and the ARs.
I watched this video 5 years later just to see if he talked about the Varix sight giving you no recoil, and I guess it wasn’t a thing at this time or he didn’t know about it. Because recently I put it on a Dingo with Rapid Fire and no Grip and literally mapped people with no recoil lol
i usually use AR so i feel reflex better for me Because reflex Has Faster Aimin My mean is ; When U use Thermal you neeed A lot of time for rottate a littel Your aim, But when u use reflex Your Aim switch faster between enemies that Is very useful when ur enemy Are moving very fast Your aim can follow him Very well But when u use thermal Its look like U have One chance to shot and kill enemy if you miss that You cant aim that again (cause slow rotate speed ) I prefer Reflex how about You guys? what is your Fav ?
you should also mention peripheral vision. when zoomed in too much your peripheral vision will be reduced hgely and you wont see a lot of enemies because they are outside your field of view but with a different sight you would be able to see them
i have 4 hvk30 variants. one of them has a recon sight, one has a reflex and the other 2 have iron sight. i really only use 3 of those variants though. There is no ONE way to make up a gun. try a couple. my Recon scope hvk30 is friggin amasing. recon is great for controlling recoil ( a custom reticle will help you see where the recoil is going)
In complete honesty. Is netduma r1 worth buying? Or what other products work better for purchasing. I'm getting a new place in a few months and would like to get my setup straight.
How do you feel about scopes on PC, because mouse is more précise and there isnt the analogue stick son we could turn faster would love to hear back :) great vid btw
The accented E makes you look like a douche and so does the bragging of precision on PC. Then again I don't have the money to use a PC because it costs more than it's worth.
The Onyx Eclipse 1. The é is my mistake I was using a french ipad keyboard and auto correct. 2. I'm not bragging just stating a fact, look it up homie :) 3. If you'd like more information I'd be glad to help you get into the PC world. It may seem expensive, but you can easily get a great PC at better than console graphics for the same price. Plus with PS4.5 coming out, may be worth a look into PC. TLDR : Anyhow sorry if I seemed douchey and reply if you'd lilke more info on affordable PC gaming.
+The Onyx Eclipse You know what, I understand your point, but you have an Xbox now, you don't have to sell it, but the thing with PC if you're big in FPS it's better. I find it more enjoyable, btw if anyone else is reading this, you can reply too and I'll help you out :) Have a good day.
i usually go with elo on Assault Rifles like the M8A7, KN44,or the man o war but Probably reflex on the HVK,XR-2 and the Shieva, i feel like the ICR doesn't need a sight
+King Swagga Personally, I run straight Varix Somehow, he didn't mention it in the video, but the Thermal, Varix, and the Recon all do recoil reduction of 15%. (Opposed to grip doing I believe 7.5) If you wanna try it, don't use grip. grip counteracts the sights, and you only get the grips 7.5. It helps me a lot personally, which is why I don't run ELO and red dot anymore(I used to use ELO)
+TheXclusiveAce ace i nkow its a bit of a nit picker but there is a slight diffrence of 1% as long as driftor said between the elo and reflex sight [he said he checked the game code but still thats barly noticible][sorry for being so picky]
Does the boa site make an audio cue when an enemy lights up red or a friendly lights up blue? As a blind gamer this would help me know when my shots will hit my enemy.
There are lots of long range engagements and lanes. Even in the smallest maps, combine and nuketown. It just depends on how to play if you're close or not
+Superior Acid sort of yes... We know that there will be a 10th Specialist (gauntlet) if you search 10th Specialist BO3 or just go to BiblicalReapers channel he has something on there. Look at it for yourself
Either way I wonder what it's like playing on a monitor with good internet and a headset.... I use a old TV, broken muc Apple ear buds, and like 10 downspeed internet
If I haven't unlock dark matter yet, and I unlock the new weapons. Do I also need to get diamond for those weapon in order to get dark matter? Please help, thanks you
the "best" sight is the sight you're best or most comfortable with.
That is true mate. Think the iron sights on most guns work well. Don't have many class set ups with sights on
I'm so sick of this stupid fucking argument. No one needs you to tell them to use something they're more comfortable with. People look for this kind of information because they want to know what equipment to invest all those hours into GETTING comfortable with, because it has an objective edge in one situation or another.
agree
amen bro
I love how open elo is but hate you can't change dot color (the red/orange can be hard to see at times, prefer blue our green) if a gun has open iron sights, like kn or dingo, I usually don't add a sight.
BOA 3 is my favorite. I can scan the whole area and if I see red I know to take cover.
Good point
although they could be hiding behind somerhing
Joshua Street boa 3 is my favorite also
boa has helped me get alot of kills because I didnt see anyone thru the sight but it turned red so I knew there was someone there somewhere
G. A. B. Plus it increase your center speed by like 15%, so it helps with recoil control, like a Grip, but a little less so.
Incredibly informative video Ace, thank you for putting together and sharing!
Great vid Ace! Also I have a question: Could you please do a breakdown on the afterburner perk, that would be nice!
When talking about a sight, why not show gameplay with it?
+Jamie Stingmore Takes more time
+Nitua Maybe an extra hour or two. Doesn't have to be great gameplay, just some in game visuals to show what your talking about. I think it would add a lot to the video.

You're the man. Love the elo - maybe fav all-time

In my opinion longshot ranges should be decreased if you use a Varix or Recon sight. It encourages people to use them and make good use of it.
+TheRyansLion yeah true
varix does nerf long shots
+Cody That was patched quite a while ago.
For longshot medals I always use the Thermal, helped with the Man-O-War and KN-44 when getting them gold. But other than that and my XRX-20 (XR-2 variant), I don't use Thermal ever. great informative vid. I gravitate towards the elo mostly but it is hard to deny the advantage of the recon
Nice video. It would be good if you also compared the FOV to the iron sights on each gun class.

BOA 3 is definitely the best
I'm surprised I don't see people use it that often
+TrueWarrior I love the BOA 3, I use it on most guns except for most SMGs. I like it on the Weevil and Pharo tho.
play hardcore every sweaty kid uses it
Damn man you need more subs. Great vid again
+TheXclusiveAce Just want to clarify, I know you said there are no other statistical changes, so aim down sight time does not change? I think it did in AW when you would use a sight, would be slower. Just want to make sure.
+Stevio2175 Correct, there's no change to your base ADS time that I'm aware of in BO3.
+TheXclusiveAce Figured, just wasn't sure if you tested it or not. Thank you, hope you're doing well!
I usually like to use the reflex on longer range guns like ARs and LMGs and iron sights on short range guns. The Varix helped a lot with lmg's head shots
I'm either iron sights or BOA. The BOA in HC provides a huge advantage in my opinion.
BOA is also good at picking out enemies behind obstacles as long as you can see a small part of them
wow a RUclips who actually responds to comment good job ace
I Use the iron sights or varix most of the time, with occasional thermal, because on PC it doesn't have as much of a disadvantage. I never touch the BOA or ELO, because I like custom recticles too much.

Irons for pistols, SMGs, Shotguns, and some ARs, Red Dot/ELO for some ARs, LMGs, Recon/Varix/Default Scope for Snipers
I like the Recon on the KN-44 and the Gorgon, ELO is also one of my favorites to put on a lot of guns, and for me, the Locus is best with the default sight :D
Reflex just ain't as good as elo for me against smg players
Why?
+Leon B it allows me to play faster well it feels like it
i like reflex more on certain guns, like the xr2 and hvk. The only guns i actually use elo on are the weavel and pharo.
+L The Almighty Destroyer of Worlds and Bringer of Rectal Fissures on all of them I run with the iron sights. Xr2 is a bit crap but once use to it they are fine. Saves a space on all those guns then
NEARLYLAST only guns i always use a sight on are the pharo and weavel. I usually don't on the rest, but sometimes I like to change it up
keep up the great work. very helpful.
My favorite sight is the Varix 3 scope. I don't know why, but I feel like I can be a lot more accurate with it as opposed to other sights.
I prefer the FoV of the BOA and thats why I use it on most guns (SMG, AR, LMG)... Love thermal for snipers though, and prefer Irons on the shottys
reflex is the best cuz it feels more accurate and it's actually more accurate and the bar on top gives us a frame
I'd still choose either iron sights or ELO just cause of my play style (rushing). I might try recon because it has more benefits
I watched this video 5 years later just to see if he talked about the Varix sight giving you no recoil, and I guess it wasn’t a thing at this time or he didn’t know about it. Because recently I put it on a Dingo with Rapid Fire and no Grip and literally mapped people with no recoil lol
Just remember that equipping the Recon and Thermal sights on Sniper rifles do change inherent gun handling negatively!
amazing video. thanks for making it!
I use the ELO more than any other sight I do however like the varix as well. Between the elo and red dot sight for me most of the time.
Let's count how many times he says 'field of view'
Take a shot
+Jacob Nikitas its over 9000
+Jacob Nikitas don't need alcohol poisoning
Reflex sight always. Better than the Elo. Trying out varix sight on LMGs, and recon on my shevia always!
I really like using boa-3 optic because I play hardcore, but it can be kinda constructive so I do use the elo optic quite a lot as well
I like the Varix and the Thermal.
Great video very detailed
What about the Laser SIGHT?
😆
L
W
BWAHAHAHAHA good one m8
W
That's my sight. Lol
Elo sight for most guns except for the ICR or VMP. Thermal, recon, or normal sight for snipers.
BOA on the KN-44 and VMP.
ELO on the Kuda.
Varix on the SVG-100 and PO-6.
I think boa is better on kuda and vmp elo
great vid great channel great youtuber
I really like the Varix.
this is a great channel
Iron Sights are usually great, Reflex is good and ELO is amazing.
I agree with that
Nice videos will be using the reflex on my lmgs... What do u think?
needed to learn this
the recon "try hard" skin makes your scope immune to ep grenades too so its the best !
Recon is it for me, I don't mind the bulky part of cause I hit people from far most of the time. No idle sway for me equal more bullets on target.
Man o war recon precison recticule :P sooo good
i usually use AR so i feel reflex better for me Because reflex Has Faster Aimin My mean is ; When U use Thermal you neeed A lot of time for rottate a littel Your aim, But when u use reflex Your Aim switch faster between enemies that Is very useful when ur enemy Are moving very fast Your aim can follow him Very well But when u use thermal Its look like U have One chance to shot and kill enemy if you miss that You cant aim that again (cause slow rotate speed ) I prefer Reflex how about You guys? what is your Fav ?
Look at you going all driftor on us....p.s love your vids
you should also mention peripheral vision. when zoomed in too much your peripheral vision will be reduced hgely and you wont see a lot of enemies because they are outside your field of view but with a different sight you would be able to see them
i have 4 hvk30 variants. one of them has a recon sight, one has a reflex and the other 2 have iron sight. i really only use 3 of those variants though.
Either your wrong about the BOA or is bugged because the main reason I use it is the fact it eliminates idle sway for me.
Does anyone else just completely zone out when ace is talking in huge detail
I prefer the elo but I do find the reticle hard to see against certain background colors, were as the red dot stands out and is a tad bigger.
do you play any hardcore games ? if so, do you have any tips ?
How do you feel about scopes on PC, because mouse is more précise and there isnt the analogue stick son we could turn faster would love to hear back :) great vid btw
The accented E makes you look like a douche and so does the bragging of precision on PC. Then again I don't have the money to use a PC because it costs more than it's worth.

Thanks, ditto.
i usually go with elo on Assault Rifles like the M8A7, KN44,or the man o war but Probably reflex on the HVK,XR-2 and the Shieva, i feel like the ICR doesn't need a sight
oh and the only SMG i use a sight on is probably the Razorback or Sometimes the Kuda
Only use a optic o. M8 and sometimes the xr2. The rest I feel the iron sights are good enough
Yeah I agree most iron sights are pretty good
Iron sight whenever possible. If not, I choose the elo
Yeah I think the iron sights are pretty good in this game. Not many of my class set ups that I run with a sight
Yeah me too
+King Swagga Personally, I run straight Varix
Somehow, he didn't mention it in the video, but the Thermal, Varix, and the Recon all do recoil reduction of 15%. (Opposed to grip doing I believe 7.5)
If you wanna try it, don't use grip. grip counteracts the sights, and you only get the grips 7.5.
It helps me a lot personally, which is why I don't run ELO and red dot anymore(I used to use ELO)
+Brady Hettinger before update
+Tyler Reiss I'm still getting better recoil reduction off the varix
I use the Recon sight on the Kn-44 in my opinion its like laser.
For snipers (every thing besides locus) I like to use recon or elo
Try the pharo with varix and see how it looks
Bobbytrap what?
For sniping the varix 3 is golden
In the description after "(zoom levels)" I think you meant "as" instead of "and"
+JasonBeKillin Thanks as always!
+TheXclusiveAce :)
+TheXclusiveAce ace i nkow its a bit of a nit picker but there is a slight diffrence of 1% as long as driftor said between the elo and reflex sight [he said he checked the game code but still thats barly noticible][sorry for being so picky]
+TheXclusiveAce + thx a lot for the vid it helped
+filip kotarba I'm pretty sure it was 0.1% or 0.01% even, but there is a very slight difference. But it is unnoticable anyway so doesn't matter!
Does the boa site make an audio cue when an enemy lights up red or a friendly lights up blue? As a blind gamer this would help me know when my shots will hit my enemy.
Iron sight or reflex/ELO ( changes with gun class)
FEEL THE POWER OF THE RECON SIGHT!!!
in a game with 99% close quarters engagements a sight is useless unless your gun has terrible iron sights. id much rather put the point toward a perk
There are lots of long range engagements and lanes. Even in the smallest maps, combine and nuketown. It just depends on how to play if you're close or not
The 10th specialist looks like the Guy on the BO3 cover. Do you think we could have Sally and Mustang in Multiplayer as the specialist weapon?
+Franklin Neal (FrankieFrank47) What are you talking about? Did something get leaked?
+Superior Acid sort of yes... We know that there will be a 10th Specialist (gauntlet) if you search 10th Specialist BO3 or just go to BiblicalReapers channel he has something on there. Look at it for yourself
im on pc and i always play cod with the highest fov available in options (90 in bo3) :3
oops sorry its 120 not 90
must be nice playing with such good hit detection
The gameplay footage was from teather mode so it looks fucked up
Either way I wonder what it's like playing on a monitor with good internet and a headset....
I use a old TV, broken muc Apple ear buds, and like 10 downspeed internet
So for the Locus sniper rifle. what is more zoomed-in; the iron sights, or the thermal sight?
I mostly use recon on the vesper, other than that I barely use it
I use reflex because I like the eclipse reticle
You are actually wrong, the BOA makes less recoil
+EJ REVIEWS this was made before that patch
Are you sure the varix sight zoomed out doesn't change center speed?
If I don't use iron sights I use the recon sight. It's is very good
thats why I miss all the time with thermals on snipers
If I haven't unlock dark matter yet, and I unlock the new weapons. Do I also need to get diamond for those weapon in order to get dark matter? Please help, thanks you
Elo on the Man O' War and KN-44.
Thank you always thought the elo was better than red dot
Clearer field of view for me
it still us better than red dot. I go 40-20 with elo... the game before i went 15-40 coincidence? I think not.
I normally just get used to the iron sight for every gun, but in bo3 I can't really do that
what attachments were you using on the kn-44?
