Werewolf by Night just did something incredible. This under-the-radar special created something new in the MCU.
On top of this being one of the most unique and imaginative projects the MCU has ever put on screen - it’s also an introduction to a whole new side of the MCU.

And Werewolf by Night is an incredible jumping-off point for this Monstrous supernatural world.
We know that Blade is coming. And the Midnight Sons is something that has been floating around for a while. Midnight Sons is a team of cursed anti-heroes who fight monsters and supernatural threats.
But up until now, we had no idea what this new corner of the would be like. Well, now we know, Werewolf by Night gave us a delicious first taste, and now I’m ready for the full feast of horror and blood.
There’s more to the Midnight Sons than just another MCU team.
Because Wereworlf by Night is more than just another entry in the entertainment conveyor belt known as the MCU.
This is the shot in the arm Marvel needed.
This tone is exactly the way Midnight Sons need to be. The black and white is a gimmick. The real importance of Werewolf by Night is it’s creative and gruesome style.
It’s a promise that the monsters world is going to be tonally and visually different from anything else in the Marvel cinematic universe.
So let’s enter the world of the monsters, and explain the briliance of Werewolf by Night. How it opens the door to something truly special, and what it means for Midnight Sons.
Also, be sure to stick around to the end, cause I got one hell of a pitch for the Midnight Sons movie.
Alright before we get to the Midnight Sons and the larger monsters world, we first need to talk about Werewolf by Night.
The very first frame of the special is of the Avengers. But as the narrator says…[clip].
There are things in the darkness, dwelling in the shadows. Monsters.
The Avengers deal with aliens, criminals, terrorists, multiversal threats, and everything in between.
Everything except the monsters. The only ones who can handle those, are the hunters as well as other monsters.
Werewolf by Night gives us our first taste of this world, which already feels lived-in,
rich with history and lore.
There monsters in the MCU, and more of them are coming. Meaning that the Bloodstone monster-hunting cult is far from being the only ones who battle the forces of darkness.
Jack Russell has been around, and he’s really proficient in monster hunting.
I guess him being a werewolf kinda gives him an edge.
Then there’s Elsa Bloodstone, who will surely take a larger part in her family’s legacy. And of course…. Ted.
And let’s not forget about the most bad-ass vampire hunter alive.
These characters are the building blocks of the monsters world, and there are plenty of others to come. Like Ghost Rider! Please give us Ghost Rider. We need Ghost Rider to be part of this world.
And I’m not sure what’s the plan for Moon Knight, but considering that he already deals with the supernatural, why not throw him into this pot?
Anyway, all of this is probably leading to a crossover movie or another special.

I don’t think Mephisto should only be in one movie though. He feels more like a character who should stay alive and pop up again in other projects.
Yea, he can steal dr dooms mothers soul, terrorize Strange and Peter Parker, and provide Wanda an illusion of her kids with them actually being shards of his soul!

Could be an inversion of Thanos' run where Mephisto is introduced and "killed" in the Midnight Sons movie, only to pop-up in the end credits of another movie because "you can't kill Mephisto." Maybe even pull in Doctor Strange to finally banish him from their dimension or something.
Yeah. Even in comics, mephisto basically the evil behind all. He even had Harward Stark serving him as an acolyte. So he can't be behind the shadows. He is behind every shadow.

I loved how they went hard on the "wolfman" look and not the more animal like werewolf look. You can just see it's a suit and I love that. Also that one lady got a damn sword to the head!

Not my favourite look but since they where going for a more old school style warewolf it works.

I enjoyed Werewolf by Night. It really captured the spirit of old black & white monster movies. I would be happy if this was a series and not just a one-shot.
I think Blade, Black Knight, Moon Knight, Werewolf by Night, Elsa Bloodstone, Man-Thing, & Agatha Harkness would make the perfect Midnight Sons team.
Wong can be the guiding figurehead who assembles the team while Blade leads on the battlefield. They can introduce Ghost Rider or a mutant presence like Nightcrawler or Magik when one of the members gets killed off.
Nightmare, Mephisto, or the Scarlet Witch would be a great horror villain & the MCU having an R-rated section of supernatural anti-heroes would be fire. Wanda, Jake Lockley, WBN, Man-Thing, & Blade could especially benefit from the mature/gory setting.
A TV show with
Blade, black knight, werwolf by night, Elsa, man thing, Ghost rider (Robby Reyes AOS) moon night I and possibly Daisy Johnson helping in the first episode and final episode of each TV show would be great (would be fine without quake if aos ghost rider would be a team member)
And I think Scarlett witch as villain wouldn't come back and probably Will rather try her best to do things Right
And ghost rider also could benefit from more gore

Cloak and dagger(revealing the energy blast in the TV series was power of mephisto what gaves them Powers similar like in the comics where it was a experiment on street kid's with a drug) new seasons and in the final season they get swallowed by mephisto and the midnight son's save them

Agatha is bad and doesn’t play well with others. Scarlet Witch is canon to be harbinger of Lilith. Mephisto is just the most popular to pick.

Gotta give props to that one guard. Got thrown into the closing door and as his friends are all getting murdered, he collects himself and tries to stop the wolf. The entire scene I was expecting him to try and dip out.
I took the 100 deaths thing as Jack bluffing to keep the masquerade. He was only there for Man Thing and he didn't seem the least bit aware of anything within the Bloodstone organization.
I was thinking the same thing, though, after seeing werewolf rein hellfire on the guards, I'm sure his kill count is well above 100... Just maybe not all monsters.
I took it as the bad monsters he took out as his werewolf self cause in comics he fights bad monsters as well but could be wrong

After Werewolf by Night, I’m convinced they need to give Michael Giacchino complete creative control over this section of the MCU. If we could get a MS team with WBN, Man-Thing, Elsa Bloodstone, Blade, (Ryan Gosling as) Ghost Rider, Moon Knight, , Black Knight, and the Punisher, that would be sick.
And I know based off recent violence and people using the Punisher’s logo as a hate symbol, it makes it more unlikely for him to be featured in the MCU. But what if the Jon Bernthal version had a change of character and instead of hunting down gang members and criminals he hunts monsters now? I think that would dissociate him from being a hate speech symbol to a monster-killing machine, and it would give the control of his image back to Marvel.
I wouldn’t say that the Punisher logo has been co-opted as a hate symbol so much as it has been co-opted by individuals who don’t feel that they have enough masculinity and need to compensate l.
Or, the Punisher could go on a rampage killing those who coopted his symbol as a hate symbol.

I like that plot idea, but Nightmare instead of Mephisto and it can be a Nightmare On Elm Street type thing where they’re literally in a nightmare. Also a good way to keep it isolated, even black and white still, and they can kill Nightmare and have end credits scene where you find out he was working with Mephisto. Kinda like Thanos at the end of Avengers 1.

These clips made me remember how badass and cool Wesley Snipes Blade was.
I still think that Dracula should be more than just a Blade threat, since I am aware of a connection to Jack's curse, and I know at least memes with Moon Knight. And Mephisto be a threat beyond, like Thanos was with Loki.
So Dracula have presence in Blade, he will become the main villain of Midnight Sons, with some new power, and after he is defeated we some new villain finding out about the failure on his throne.

I kind of want them to do Alejandra as Ghost Rider, Acknowledge that Johnny passed the SoV to Robbie, and then have Robbie be dead. Then allude to the Cage movies and AoS as canon, like TIH does with 03 Hulk.

I was surprised that the hunters were killing each other. That would be like the Avengers fighting it out to decide who gets to fight Thanos.
I think it's interesting that a show that was so innovative and did new things was directed by a composer.
It's always the low key weird different properties in which I think Marvel is at its best. Right next to the serious Winter Soldier, Civil War, Secret Invasion style. Blade and Secret Wars are what I'm excited about mostly. I really wish they would do a series that was movie length for each episode. Maybe have just three episodes.
Are you excited for Deadpool 3? We will finally see Hugh Jackman as Wolverine again in the movie.
The 1950s, prosthetics Werewolf look worked very well for this movie/special/whatever, especially because it was in B&W but I'd hope they go CGI if Jack Russell makes it into a movie.
I feel like they can always brush aside any changes to the werewolf costume, as the one we've seen is a forced transformation Vs what his regular form is like. Or maybe his wolf appearance is fluid as he goes in and out of it frequently.

Imagine if they did a silent tease with mephisto being the bunny in WandaVision feeding off the chaos and amplified grief that Wanda shared with the people in Westview. And he morphed into Ralph Boner, a doppelgänger of a multiverse variant of Pietro to trick Wanda. Agatha could have been either controlled by him or controlling him. Kind of like they’re feeding off each Other. He promises her chaos magic and she gives him a beacon to use the Darkhold and trap Wanda. They defeat Agatha Then he’s the main villain of MOM where Wanda is corrupted by the Darkhold and it’s like Chthon verse mephisto vs nightmare or a grander level and Wanda vs Strange as the main plot. You can have all this cosmic and dark magical warfare building up to a human, Kang, who realizes that Mephisto has been using him to stir of more chaos and he defeats Mephisto in Kang Dynasty by doing the only thing that can stop him which is destroying the multiverse and creating battle world to be the real ruler. This wouldn’t do too much in each story and have the Spider-Man 3 problem either. Would have been historic though. Then Doom become the big bad leading up to a second secret wars.
All this talk of Midnight Sons overshadows the much more shiny piece of this puzzle. We now have 2 out of 5 of Nextwave!!
Wong stated in Dr. Strange they guard against mystical threats, so there has to be some connection to the main MCU through Kamar Taj. It could be funny if Wong just sent some minor functionary as he was "too busy" and you get some brave middle manager type out of his element as who Wong sends.
He could send Madysinn. Although probably she wouldn't be fazed at all, still funny but in a different way.
This may be how Dr voodoo gets introduced.
I love the idea of the movie Ryan pitched. But I feel that could be a sequel. I agree that Mephisto should be in multiple projects starting with one introducing Ghosr Rider. I think the first big bad of the Midnight Sons should be Lilith. I mean the game is already doing it right, movies should follow. Also, if Doctor Strange being apart of the team feels too much like mixing different corners of the MCU, then bring in Doctor Voodoo who’d be perfect for this team and the horror/supernatural corner of the MCU. He also was referenced in the first Doctor Strange with his Brother being there.
Jack, Man Thing, Elsa, Moon Knight, Blade, Ghost Rider, Black Knight and Scarlet Scarab. Punisher would be cool too but you could keep him in a more realistic realm.
This could be a way to bring the divergent timeline of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. back into the 616 continuity. Something occurs that requires that universe’s alternate Darkhold to be brought-in by the Robbie Reyes version of Ghost Rider as played by Gabriel Luna & Daisy “Quake” Johnson, etc. could tag-along (probably accidentally).

Jack Russell is tied to the Darkhold. Jack is a descendant of Grigori Russoff. Sometime prior to May 1930, Grigori's descendant, Gregor, obtained the legendary Darkhold scrolls, binding them back into book form. Reading lycanthropy's origins in the Darkhold under a full moon triggered the dormant curse, mutating Gregor into a werewolf. Gregor further transcribed much of the Darkhold into Grigori's diary, essentially creating a Darkhold copy, which he used as his own diary. Gregor sold part of his estate - including Wundagore Mountain - to Jonathon Drew, who shared it with partner Herbert Wyndham (the future High Evolutionary). Who is making his appearance in the MCU.

Why black and white?
The story of Midnight Suns involving Mephisto needs to end bitter sweet. Like you said we already have multiple world ending threats. Mephisto should be presented as the ultimate evil thats literally helping them solve their issue. The ultimate temptation, every interaction needs to have the characters and the audience wondering "Will he strike now?". Even display how evil he could be but for some reason he is helpful to the Midnight Suns.
Until the rug gets snatched from under us with something so gut wrenching we finally get a measure of how evil he is.
Mephisto doesn't have to be a physical battle, true horror is in the mind, what we expected not happening, and in the slight moments of comfort as its looking at us from the dark corner of the room.
I can't wait to see what they create!

That's a perfect use of Mephisto. But the villain is eternal, invincible & immortal. So the best way to do it is for him to be defeated as a deception. The Prince of Lies does not go down in a superhero brawl. So the best ending to that scenario is a trick that's later reveals that Mephisto NEEDED the Midnight Sons to form in order to accomplish some larger dark plan.

I love that Marvel is willing to try various visual styles and storylines, and introduce comic book characters that did not have the mass appeal compared to Spiderman or Xmen. Never heard of the "Midnight Son", but now after this movie, I am going to see if I can find the comic book. Keep up the good work.

Midnight sons, sure, that would be pretty cool, but I'm far more excited about the fact that we're one step closer to Nextwave!
I honestly think that they're saving Mephisto for phase 8 and sadly, I think that's what they're thinking for the Midnight Sons too. I can really see maybe Blade assemble the Midnight Sons for a single cameo in his solo movie and end their involvement in the mcu for phase 4 there. Then they could spin it off in phase 7 after the entire kang storyline where the big disturbances caused will alert Mephisto, causing him to think the universe is at its weakest and attack , the remaining heroes being required to fight him, so they consult the Midnight Sons for advice on how to fight supernatural threats.
Basically I see Mephisto as the big bad for Phase 7 and maybe the entire saga could be him creating challenges for the Avengers who are now all incredibly similar to the Midnight sons, including the X men and fantastic four which joined the mcu in the entire kang madness

Punisher would be perfect in Midnight Sons. No doubt Marc Spector knows Frank Castle somehow.
There are some characters we haven't seen yet, who haven't even been suggested yet as existing, who are perfect for the Midnight Suns. These include Brother Voodoo, Dr. Druid, N'Kantu, and Hannibal King. I think Moondragon (Drax's daughter) could also work.
Nice hearing so much excitement in Ryan's voice and great script, but once again. NO DOUG? Common man!
Actually since Marvel Studios is looking for a new Director and screenwriter for The Blade movie, then I have a few ideas.
So here it goes….
First of all, we all know that the Darkhole book was destroyed during the end of Doctor Strange 2, but before Wanda ever had possession of The book there were several pages that were ripped out from the book, that are scattered throughout the world. One particular page contains a spell that can cover the entire world in a dark layer of mist, blocking the sunlight. Dracula, who is the main villain wants this spell.
Incomes Blade, our main hero here to stop Dracula from getting the Darkhole page. The beginning half starts off as a chase movie. With the Darkhole page as the McGuffin. Unfortunately Blade loses and Dracula ends up getting the page with the spell.
Since Blade lost this battle by himself. He decides now to put together a team of other hunters in order to help him stop Dracula from performing that spell. These other hunters could be new characters from the comics that have not been introduced yet or returning characters from the MCU, like Werewolf by night, Elsa Bloodstone, Black knight or even Moon Knight. This can be a back door introduction to the midnight Son.
Dracula has the Darkhole page, but now he needs ingredients in order to perform the spell. One of the main ingredients happens to be the blood of a LIVING day-walker. Blade and the rest of the hunters know this too, so they all decide to make a pact. If Blade happens to get captured in the pursuit of stopping Dracula then they have agreed to kill Blade. Remember the spell can only work with the blood of a LIVING day-walker.
Here comes the twist. Blade is not the only day-walker alive. There’s another one, an easier target for Dracula to kidnap. A teenage girl that happens to be Blade’s estranged daughter. Here’s the thing. Vampires cannot reproduce, but Day- walkers can. Years ago Blade fell in love with an another hunter. That Hunter left and disappeared after they knocked boots. The reason being is that she gave birth to Blades daughter who he never knew existed until now.
Now we have a dilemma. Is Blade willing to kill his daughter, The only family he knows in order to save the world? And if he doesn’t, then that means he must fight off his fellow team of other hunters. Because they all made a pact to stop Dracula from achieving his goal no matter what costs.
So now we have a third act, where Blade must fight his teammates and Dracula’s legion of vampires to save his daughter as well as stopping Dracula from performing the spell.
The movie would take place somewhere down south in New Orleans. It will be a combination of horror/action and The soundtrack Will consist of 80s era style horror synth dark wave music.
Ghost Rider be like, "I could solo but I just wanted some friends"

It would be so great if marvel could keep this its own separate vein in the overarching universe. I just want to see small scale monster hunting adventures with Jack Elsa and Ted 😭

I think it was really good for a special, but I think it being so heavily stylized might make it hard to transfer to the mcu proper. It looked like a 1940s horror movie and it worked really for the special, but could look extremely silly in a big budget movie.
Blade talking to Falcon, Dr Strange, and Spider-Man was hilarious "You amateurs are supposed to be helping me, you're not ready to roll with this. I mean look at the way you're dressed, what is this?! A fucking sitcom."😂

I’d like to see future projects be created with similar characteristics and MCU originality than that of WWBN AND I like your idea of having a dark, monstrous underworld largely detached from the rest of the MCU; however, we’ve already had multiple vampire references in projects like Thor: Ragnorok and She-Hulk.
In actuality, the only evidence of vampires existing in the MCU to date though was provided via the TVA so assuming they go everywhere maybe it’s still possible to have two non intersecting universes within the same universe? 🤔

I think the Midnight Suns is going to be a film. That what Marvel seems to be doing with it’s major crossovers. Hopefully it comes out in October. The only one who should crossover is Doctor Strange or Wong it be extremely dumb if they didn’t know about monsters.
I would like Dr voodoo to be introduced into the mcu and be the magic wielder for the team and report back to strange and Wong, or bring back Wanda and she can be that face, kind of like a you do good here and you can be an avenger again sort of story line.

So happy the supernatural and horror type things will be a big part of the MCU, if human Kevin is to be believed. I love that genre and it'll be a lot of fun to see the MCU go further into that world.

You wouldn't need Dr. Strange, if you have Agatha Harkness. Ghost Rider, Black Knight and Blade, maybe even Warewolf and Bloodstone are pretty likely. Moon Knight... hmm he still needs to get his _lives_ in order. As much as you want to keep the Supernatural separate from the main MCU, the fact that you have crossover potential is kinda the point of a connected universe so there has to be at least one character they need to explain new concepts to. Honestly, the fact the Strange kinda boarders a lot of that means he should still turn up from time to time.

Midnight suns roster: bloodstone, jack Russell, blade, moonknight, ghostrider, man thing, black knight, and Agatha. What I think the mcu is setting up is all these teams of Heroes from different sides of the universe. You’ll have the midnight suns (which will essentially be the dark avengers Bc I doubt marvel will do both so it doesn’t get confusing), young avengers, thunderbolts, fantastic 4, mutants, and then a return of the remaining main avengers (hulk, Thor, falcon-captain American, ant-man, dr.strange, then any other remaining heroes) who will be like the leaders of the teams when the inevitable build up to the avengers kang dynasty movie then secret wars. They want all these teams all these different heroes to get together have a civil war type fight then realize who is the main enemy (kang) then secret wars happens. The midnight suns I think are going to deal with the lesser hidden aftermath of MoM. All the dark holds were destroyed and it appears even Dr.Strange seemed concerned when it happened toward the end of the movie. I think they will deal with someone dark like mephisto, death, nightmare, chithon, someone really dark and sinister that is and had been lurking and pulling strings under the radar for some time and now that the dark hold is gone and destroyed whoever the bad guy is wants to wreck even more havoc on the world
