It is rather strange how Nintendo tried to add this FOMO of "If you don't get this it'll be REALLY rare and expensive later :D" but it ended up selling millions and millions of copies, which means that even if some are gonna sell it for ridiculous prices, there will be people who will sell it used for cheap anyways, and the money of those copies isn't even going to Nintendo themselves XD

The funny thing about Galaxy not having normal non-pointer menu navigation is that this is an issue that was FIXED in Galaxy 2. In Galaxy 2 you can just use button controls to navigate all the menus, but since that wasn't in Galaxy 1 it wasn't in here because they barely made any changes. The funny thing is, I can almost guarantee that if Galaxy 2 was in this collection, Galaxy 2 wouldn't have the issue but Galaxy 1 still would which would be hilarious.

Fun fact, I bought this so I could play Mario Sunshine, because back then Sunshine was going for $$$ on ebay. Not long ater, I found Sunshine for $3 at a thrift store, unopened. Another fun fact, with Mario Galaxy I'm so used to waggling to spin-jump and collect star bits that I have to play that game docked with joycons in my hands.

Oh man, watching this video, it took me back to almost 3 years ago. I will never forget the day that this game was released...Friday, September 18, 2020. I was so looking forward to its release on that day. About a week prior to that, my doctor had arranged a CT Scan at the hospital for me on the same day of this games release, Friday, September 18, 2020, for some head pressure that I'd been having, and had gone to the doctor about. That early Friday morning, I went to the hospital for the CT Scan, then hit Dunkin' for an iced coffee, and finally, made my way to Walmart to pick up a copy of Super Mario 3D All-Stars (and even picked up some Super Mario socks as well!). I was so happy on my drive home, and was so looking forward to playing my new game/games on my next few days off from work. Unfortunately, as soon as I pulled into my driveway, I got a call from the hospital (they'd been trying to reach me, and had even called my emergency contacts, too), but I had the music blaring in my car and never heard my phone ringing...lol. They proceeded to tell me that I needed to pack a bag for a weeks possible stay, and immediately get to the Emergency Room to see a Neurosurgeon. To try and make an already much too long of a story shorter, I had to end up having emergency, life or death, brain surgery because I had a d**n cyst that had grown on a main blood vessel on my brain, and it was causing the blood to stop flowing, which, in turn, would eventually have caused the blood vessel to rupture, and I would have immediately died, right there on the spot, whenever, and wherever, it did happen/occur at. Unfortunately, due to that surgery, it had/has ruined my short-term memory for the rest of my Life and I hardly play any games anymore, at all, unless it's stuff from the past because my long-term memory is all good, but I just can no longer remember much from 30 minutes ago anymore, which makes playing anything new completely impossible because I cannot remember anything that I've previously done when I stop playing, and then go back to it later. It's completely impossible to enjoy anything new now because I can't remember anything; what I did, what I need to do, that sort of stuff. Ironically, and sadly, too, my copy of Super Mario 3D All-Stars has never been opened, and still sits on my shelf, almost 3 years later. 🤷

Some days though, I wish that would have happened unfortunately because of how bad my memory is now. I had the best memory before, the best, but not anymore. It has made everything more difficult since then, and how I've even managed to hold onto my job since then (had worked there for 3+ years prior to my surgery) is completely beyond me. Lol. The worst part is waking up most days, forgetting that certain family members that have passed, have actually passed away, and having to remember s**t like that again, over and over again.

@@KiwottI’m not too sure. COVID was a thing, sure, but it did not cause THREE YEARS worth of delays.
At the very least, a Dark Moon remaster and Super Mario RPG remake should not have taken that long after the pandemic slowed down, meaning they most likely started development after the anniversary. And considering what they showed of the Peach was SUPER teasy (they literally had nothing to say beyond “a Peach game is coming”), that could not have been in development for over two years. The only way these could have been meant for the anniversary is if all of these games had VERY troubled developments, and they just didn’t know what they would be by the time the anniversary rolled around.

Back in June of this year I finally bought a Nintendo switch, it was a dark grey switch lite. (Better 6 years late than never). And I went to my local game store to look for some games while also turning in a bunch of ps4 games I didn’t want. Those games gave me exactly $50 in in-store credit. I went over to the switch games and was initially looking for 3d world, but they didn’t have it. So I found Mario odyssey instead and right next to it was a physical copy of 3d all stars. I was honestly mindblown from this because initially I thought I was gonna have to buy it online but no, it was here in the store. Both games costed $50 and since I got $50 of credit from the ps4 games, I practically got a free game!
And regardless of all the problems this game has, I still genuinely believe that 3d all stars is one of the best value pack games you can get on the switch. Now I can legally play Mario 64, play sunshine for the first time, and relive childhood in galaxy, a game I have not played in nearly a decade.

Everything they do is this horrible blend of decent effort and half-assing it, which IMO is worse then them full half-assing it because then it becomes difficult to say whether or not to steer clear from their work. For example, their recent work on Pikmin 1+2 is a hodgepodge of QoL improvements mixed with downgrades and new glitches that weren’t in the originals or the NPC! versions.

Mario 3D All Stars... bothers me. On one hand, it is great to have these 3 distinct Mario 3D Platformers on Switch, especially in the case of Sunshine and Galaxy, which have never been re-released in their life (save for Galaxy's Chinese NVidia release)! On top of giving us the rumble re-release of Mario 64 for the first time! Definitely worth the 60 bucks.
However, on the other hand, the only bonuses we get are the soundtracks... which is just lame! There could have been so much more to the bonus features such as a history section, an art gallery. But nope... The art for the collection is just lazy, as are the title screen and game selection menus. It doesn't feel like a modern update of Super Mario All Stars... just the bare minimum...
