3 things I want to point out: 1. In Sonic Unleashed, Eggman didn't want to control a beast that was beyond his control, he didn't want to control Dark Gaia, he just wanted to harness Dark Gaia's energy to use on his things, at the end when Dark Gaia was whole again, he just told Dark Gaia to crush Sonic but that didn't work at all 2. And in Sonic Frontiers, Eggman ALSO didn't want to control a beast that was beyond his control, Eggman came to the Starfall Islands in search of the secrets of the Ancient technologies, so he could study it and create better machines, weapons, etc. The Cyberspace is where all the Ancients knowlodge and memories are stored so Eggman wanted those for his own selfish reasons, but during the process he accidentally activated the entire archipelago's security system made to protect anyone from freeing The End, making everything be activated on the islands, the guardians and titans appearing, Cyberspace locking everyone in, the Chaos Emeralds being locked in vaults, etc. 3. It wasn't Sage who locked up Sonic's friends, she was helping Eggman on the outside since he couldn't leave Cyberspace, yes, but Tails, Knuckles and Amy were locked inside of Cyberspace for the same reason Eggman did, the Island was trying to secure The End from being free, Sonic was the only one not locked because he was the only one who could freely travel in and out of Cyberspace, that's even the reason why The End called him "the key" and wanted him to do the dirty work by defeating the titans, which would open the Cyberspace making everyone being able to get out of it, freeing Tails, Knuckles and Amy like Sonic wanted (and Eggman too by an extent), but also freeing The End in the process since it was also trapped in there just like Eggman, Tails, Knuckles and Amy Sage KNEW about The End and wanted to keep it away from being free, that's why she tells Eggman what he did was really silly, and that's the reason she is telling Sonic to leave the whole game while constantly attacking it, while she also is trying to find a way to free Eggman from Cyberspace without freeing The End aswell

Despite this apparent success however, Eggman is enraged, saying: "The hedgehog is MINE to destroy! I could carpet bomb him any day! That's not enough- that's NOT THE POINT! I have to BEAT HIM! Notice how all of Eggman's "elite" games, involve him winning for someduration of time? I feel like that's not a good enough metric for his threat levels given that he is just as clearly a MAJOR threat in games like Sonic Adventure 2 and Sonic Adventure. I think there needs to be another tier that reads something like "Just Shy of Success/Elite" cause a lot of the ones that got placed in the "A Major Threat" tier feel like they range in threat levels. I guess I'm saying that the "A Major Threat" tier needs to be separated into 2 tiers so that the stuff that would qualify as "more likely to end the world" could be properly separated from the stuff that "is only threatening to x specific character".
Actually you gotta shoutout eggman from the boom show even if heres a saturday morning cartoon villian and sometimes does weird shit he just so unbelievable lovable and his design is so good and quotable like "The soup is cold and Salad is hot HOWS THAT EVEM POSS-" "SONIC YOU HAVE TO HELP ME , Or else ill comeback and destroy you again" "Shut it down or ill smash you into next Tuesday" "Im business next tuesday"
Sonic Rush games for Eggman boss are really crazy for me that I really loved. The egg wizard & egg salamander being Multiversal+ power of the stars, having magical abilities The sheer force of its power can create earthquakes and when channeled, it can destroy entire planets. On its own, the Egg Wizard is capable of flight at speeds matching that of Super Sonic and Burning Blaze. It can also launch excessively large missiles and restore itself at will. I believe the egg wizard is also Eggman's most powerful weapon besides the time eater, final egg blaster etc. I love the Eggman bosses so much:3
Remember to NEVER buy a third party switch dock. There is a chance that it gets bricked every time there’s an update and to this date it hasn’t been resolved.
Gotta Say Eggman in SA2 should be Elite. Though he ended up having to help save the world, he destroyed half the moon and got away with it, WITHOUT Sonic beating him up. Instead, Shadow almost paid the price. He's also the only rendition of Eggman who would of killed Sonic if it weren't for an Ex Machina moment.
New game idea Title: Sonic: Warped Realities Story Outline: Dr. Eggman, always seeking new ways to conquer, creates a wormhole that leads to an alternate reality where time flows much more slowly. In this alternate world, he spends what feels like decades building up his technology and army, while only an hour passes in Sonic's reality. As he enters the portal, Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and the rest of the gang try to stop him but fail. Eggman detonates the wormhole, sealing himself inside. While the gang is suspicious, they believe they might have foiled his plan for the moment. Exactly one hour later, Eggman re-emerges with technology far beyond anything they've ever seen and an army of advanced robotic forces. His new empire spans cities, with massive battle mechs, towering fortresses, and legions of robot soldiers that seem invincible. Now, Sonic and his friends must scramble to stop Eggman before he fully invades their reality. They will need to gather allies from across dimensions, harness the Chaos Emeralds, and maybe even explore fragments of the alternate reality to find weaknesses in Eggman’s new technology. Gameplay Features: 1. Dimensional Travel: Sonic and his team can open small rifts into Eggman’s conquered alternate reality to sabotage key structures and weaken his forces in their world. 2. Time Manipulation: Certain stages could play with time, with slow-motion segments allowing for intense, precise platforming and combat. 3. Advanced Boss Battles: Each boss battle would incorporate Eggman's futuristic tech, with massive, complex robots that require new strategies to defeat. 4. Multiple Playable Characters: Players can switch between Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and more, each with unique abilities suited to different stages of the game. Tails might focus on tech hacking to disable Eggman’s systems, while Knuckles could focus on brute force combat. 5. Chaos Emerald Power-Ups: Harnessing the Chaos Emeralds will be more critical than ever. The characters could access new, powerful forms to battle against Eggman's new high-tech enemies. 6. Massive Army Battles: There could be epic sequences where Sonic and his friends have to fend off hordes of Eggman’s advanced robots in large-scale battles, similar to war scenarios, where strategy and teamwork are key. 7. Post-Eggman Invasion World: As the game progresses, the environment becomes more hostile and warped by Eggman’s influence, with high-tech fortresses replacing once-familiar locations. Final Battle: The climax of the game could involve Sonic and his friends launching a final assault on Eggman’s ultimate fortress, possibly involving a reality-bending fight where they have to defeat Eggman across multiple dimensions and timelines to prevent him from conquering both realities. This could be an intense, fast-paced, and visually stunning Sonic game with a unique twist on time and dimension hopping.
Hard disagree on Sonic Rush. There may have been two Eggmen, but they weren’t fighting just one Sonic. Blaze was there too. The two Eggmen almost ripped apart two different dimensions, Rush absolutely deserves higher.
I love Sonic Heroes. It's one of my favorite games ever. But dang was Eggman secretly a scrub the whole time. Also, big props to you for not letting your dislike of Sonic Forces color your judgement. I've never played it but it looks like the mustachioed nutter had a good plan.
Hey to be fair in Sonic Generations the two Robotniks had to go against two Sonics. I mean if one Sonic can beat one Robotnik, how could two Robotniks beat two Sonics? So I don't exactly agree with you on this one. The other one I don't quite agree with is actually Sonic 4 episode 1. I think he should be kind of dumb in that because he is literally doing the same bosses all over again with the third one actually being a little different but that's it.
Sonic Chronicles: Elite -> Gets quite far in pre-story -> Gets mugged -> Joins the gang -> BTFO's IX in Chapter 5 -> Is OP in Chapter 5 -> Creates a working Spaceship in Chapter 6 -> Takes over the world during 2nd half of the story
I think there's a case to be made that Sonic Rush Eggman deserves at least a Typical Bad Guy. I mean, look at him there compared to in Boom or Lost World . He even kidnapped a child (Cream) just to force Blaze's hand. Not to mention the Egg Salamander mech is one of the more difficult bosses in the series.
Now I want a video like this for Dr. Wily because of how often the games portray him as just pathetic. I genuinely want to see if even a single Wily appearance would end up in Elite tier.
Eggman Nega is confirmed to be from Silver's future and as Eggman's descendant. It's never clarified well in the source materials. But in all likelihood, Eggman Nega poised himself as an alternate counterpart of Eggman to make sure he doesn't… you know… get written out of existence by accident by revealing he's his descendant. Also, speaking of Rivals, Eggman actually plays a crucial role in Rivals 2 because he's always in communication with Shadow about Nega's plans. I don't know where he'd be ranked here seeing as he doesn't play the villain here. He's implicitly in Rivals but he's been into a card by the start of the game, so he'd be ranked Worthless.
Would give extra point for Eggman by aiming and shooting Sonic like an insane supersonic bullet at The End on the Sonic Frontiers DLC. Yeah it wasn't evil but it was useful for everyone and that scene was epic as fuck
*The most moustachioed villain ever, Eggman. I love him, not only on the design level, first he gets divinities, I help Sonic and then he also has a daughter.*
Let's appreciate Sonic's sneaker quality. This guy run so fast and never wear out his red sneakers. The company that created them are did a well done job.
Some things with S3&K: Robotnik torches Angel Island in the intro stage, and destroys Marble Garden along the way. I think it contends only with Sonic CD in the early games at how ruthless he can be overall. In Sonic Chronicles, iirc, he takes over while Sonic and Co. are away (in another dimension?) towards the end of the game, and the final cutscene is him greeting him when he comes back.
As redundant at Robotnik is at times, there are those moments where he does show off a more menacing moments in the mad scientist's career, like how you pointed out here. - Blowing up half a moon just to make the humans of Earth to bow down to him (Sonic Adventure 2) - Creating at least two backup plans in his evil scheme just to ensure Sonic's defeat (Sonic Forces) - Draining all of the Chaos emeralds of all of their power (Sonic Unleashed) If it weren't for his moments of stupidity, he'd probably be the scariest mad scientist in video game history.
Also Sonic Battle pretty much re-tells the story of Sonic games once you read the journals. Eggman had the journal entries all along and it's why Sonic and co. even met in the first place. If it weren't for Eggman's meddling and trying to follow in his grandfather's legacy, no Sonic game would have happened.
Unleashed Eggman is the *single most dangerous* Eggman we have ever seen. A lot of people focus on the fact that he shattered the world into pieces. But consider the incredible power that Super Sonic wields, and the fact the this Eggman not only captures him, but *forcibly rips* him out of his Super state, and tears the Emeralds out of him. The only other one who has been able to force Super Sonic out of his Super form (excluding comics) was Knuckles in Sonic 3; and that was most likely only because he used the Master Emerald to disable them.
In Sonic Chronicles : The Dark Brotherhood, Eggman got very nice abilities and can even be the best solution when put in the same team as Tails, as they have a tag team attack that oneshots certain enemies. He even achieves world domination at the end of the game
in SA2 you forgot several things Eggman did. He blew up an entire military island, infiltrated a base in the first place to get shadow, threatened to kill amy at gunpoint. But of course the ARK wasn't Eggman's plan really, it was moreso shadow- or most rather.. Gerald robotnik.
You forgot to mention he didn't give up after being beaten by sonic in sonic 3 and knuckles, and instead sends mecha sonic to attempt to steal the master emerald immediately after sonic and tails leave, leaving only knuckles to fight the robot with the ability to go super... Hey wait a god damn second, HOW DOES THAT NOT IMMEDIATELY MAKE IT ELITE? HE'S MANAGED TO MAKE A TEMPORARY SUPER SONIC WITH LASERS, BULLSHIT THAT AIN'T ELITE!
Love the ranking, but you actually did forget about Sonic Colors for the 3DS, which does have a mildly different plot from the other versions. For instance, I don't know if this is a thing in the main game, but on the 3DS version, Eggman was making a mass mind control device and even used it on Tails successfully, though the item was still experimental and failed shortly after. I believe some other cutscenes involve him messing with Cream and Cheese, but it's been a while so I can't say for certain. Also can't forget the fact that he was turning Wisps evil and making them act as black holes...yeah those levels are nutty.
3:33 hey I don’t know if this means anything to you but the reason of why sonic goes after Eggman and why he’s slow is because egg man replaced sonic normal shoes with his own designed slow shoes that have a chaos emerald in them and they look exactly like sonic shoes except for the fact that egg man put his face on the bottom of the shoe so sonic immediately was so he goes after him and gets the chaos emerald along the way😅
Poor Eggman being the Eggclown almost all the time Bowser and Eggman were defeated, now it's time to see if Ganondorf or Ridley can give a better fight
When I played Sonic Forces for the first time, it was honestly pretty hype. Not because of the levels or story or music, but because, as you say, Eggman was on the top of his game the whole time. It was refreshing to fight a more threatening Eggman than a more comedic villain
I understand why you put Eggman in Sonic Frontiers as Kinda Dumb, but the one thing that I loved about him in that game is that he feels something that he’s never felt for with any of his creations in the past, and that is love. The fact that he sees Sage as a daughter rather than just an invention to him was very heart felt.
I feel like one people forget is Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood. Eggman is a playable character for a while up until the game's final level, then takes over the world while Sonic and company are gone. They definitely wanted to set up for a sequel, and then we just never got one. So... Eggman wins, the end.
Underselling Colors Eggman, a bit. You look at his plan, and it's actually very close to Black Doom's, as he's effectively using the Wisps as cattle. Forces Eggman is also surprisingly on point for the doc, actually having back-up plans, being more tactical than normal, and literally the only reason he loses in the end is because Infinite is more a burden than an asset.
Robotnik is literally one of the most useless villain's if you count the Mike Pollock era. Before that, he is more of a villain that is worth mentioning

I love the Eggman bosses so much:3
Yeah Egg Wizard went super overlooked in this video it should at least be one tier higher for sonic rush adventure imo
Hey Jeremy it's me the guy who won the gamcube, I love your "how useless is" series

You forgot to mention in SA2 Eggman also blows up GUN's military base/island.
Next how useless is Sonic in EVERY Sonic Game?

New game idea
Title: Sonic: Warped Realities
Story Outline: Dr.
Gameplay Features:

In two of the DIC cartoons, Robotnik was NOT useless. He actually CONQUERED Mobius.

Now ranking every metal sonic from useless to elite
Sonic heroes elite
Everything else typical bad guy even sonic riders which is big sad
7:17 that got me💀
Nice vid question can you rate how useful sonic character tier list?
Sonic Chronicles: Elite
-> Gets quite far in pre-story
-> Gets mugged
-> Joins the gang
-> BTFO's IX in Chapter 5
-> Is OP in Chapter 5
-> Creates a working Spaceship in Chapter 6
-> Takes over the world during 2nd half of the story
That's not a dock, it's a passthrough connector. A dock wouldn't require laying the switch face-up exposed to open air.
I think there's a case to be made that Sonic Rush Eggman deserves at least a Typical Bad Guy. I mean, look at him there compared to in Boom or Lost World . He even kidnapped a child (Cream) just to force Blaze's hand. Not to mention the Egg Salamander mech is one of the more difficult bosses in the series.
putting frontiers eggman in “kinda dumb” even though he’s the main catalyst for why the story even happens to begin with is hilarious ngl
Now I want a video like this for Dr. Wily because of how often the games portray him as just pathetic. I genuinely want to see if even a single Wily appearance would end up in Elite tier.
I honestly expected rush to be the middle because he shares his villain role 50/50 with alternate timeline eggman
Perhaps you could do How Useless Super Sonic is in Every Sonic Game! That'd be a really cool one to see!
Sonic 1 loses
Eggman Nega is confirmed to be from Silver's future and as Eggman's descendant.
It's never clarified well in the source materials. But in all likelihood, Eggman Nega poised himself as an alternate counterpart of Eggman to make sure he doesn't… you know… get written out of existence by accident by revealing he's his descendant.
Also, speaking of Rivals, Eggman actually plays a crucial role in Rivals 2 because he's always in communication with Shadow about Nega's plans. I don't know where he'd be ranked here seeing as he doesn't play the villain here.
He's implicitly in Rivals but he's been into a card by the start of the game, so he'd be ranked Worthless.
the cunning bald egg finally got a video
Would give extra point for Eggman by aiming and shooting Sonic like an insane supersonic bullet at The End on the Sonic Frontiers DLC. Yeah it wasn't evil but it was useful for everyone and that scene was epic as fuck
*The most moustachioed villain ever, Eggman. I love him, not only on the design level, first he gets divinities, I help Sonic and then he also has a daughter.*
9:20 so you mean when i keep going in the fridge hoping there is food i like💀
Im insane guys😵💫
To be fair for Generations, he was dealing with 2 Tails, and 2 Sonics. Kind of hard to really say that's on him even with 2 of him.
As much as I have a bias towards certain games, I agree with the ranking. Nice job.
Honestly i actually liked being able to play Eggman in Sonic Chronicles.
He was a good character i feel like.
Sa2 eggmans deserves elite tier, he pissed on the moon for goodness sake
1:34
I saw an animation that better explains this being Sonic gets tired from fighting Silver Sonic. Which is why bro gets away so easily.
2:19 You forgot to add the "Yes" 1-Up sound for Elite
Let's appreciate Sonic's sneaker quality. This guy run so fast and never wear out his red sneakers. The company that created them are did a well done job.
Some things with S3&K: Robotnik torches Angel Island in the intro stage, and destroys Marble Garden along the way. I think it contends only with Sonic CD in the early games at how ruthless he can be overall.
In Sonic Chronicles, iirc, he takes over while Sonic and Co. are away (in another dimension?) towards the end of the game, and the final cutscene is him greeting him when he comes back.
13:20 small nitpick, but Eggman doesn’t lock up Sonic’s friends in Frontiers. It was Cyberspace that did that
I am glad you brought that up... Every time Sonic chase Eggman on foot, he never catches up to him so this makes Eggman faster than Sonic!
If you want to be funny technical, Frontiers was a legit Eggman Victory.
Sonic was at the time part of the Eggman Empire when he saved the day
Awesome Video Bro! Eggman's Nintendo counterpart is Master Kohga Leader Of The Yiga Clan.
As redundant at Robotnik is at times, there are those moments where he does show off a more menacing moments in the mad scientist's career, like how you pointed out here.
- Blowing up half a moon just to make the humans of Earth to bow down to him (Sonic Adventure 2)
- Creating at least two backup plans in his evil scheme just to ensure Sonic's defeat (Sonic Forces)
- Draining all of the Chaos emeralds of all of their power (Sonic Unleashed)
If it weren't for his moments of stupidity, he'd probably be the scariest mad scientist in video game history.
Definitely should have included Sonic Battle!
4:53 he pissed on the moon you mean
🤣
5:39 this is what I came for
Love the ranking, but you actually did forget about Sonic Colors for the 3DS, which does have a mildly different plot from the other versions.
In eggman's defense for the Rush games and Generations, there WERE two sonics, so...
How does the first Death Egg Robot LOSE points for being so hard to hit? If anything, he should be gaining points for that cause it's more threatening
8:51
I love how Eggman just casually has a Dreamcast in his EggMobile lol
There’s one game missing, at least from the top of my head, Sonic chronicles the dark Brotherhood for the DS
SA2 Eggman should be in Elite for the airlock capsule scene alone
"Because you just told me, Fox boy!"
You barely touch his actual plan in Frontier. It’s not elite, but I will say its menacing.
4:48 I’m sorry, but whenever I see this scene, I just think of the fandub lmao
It is BURNED into my brain
3:33 hey I don’t know if this means anything to you but the reason of why sonic goes after Eggman and why he’s slow is because egg man replaced sonic normal shoes with his own designed slow shoes that have a chaos emerald in them and they look exactly like sonic shoes except for the fact that egg man put his face on the bottom of the shoe so sonic immediately was so he goes after him and gets the chaos emerald along the way😅
Why you look like Stay-Puft

Poor Eggman being the Eggclown almost all the time
Bowser and Eggman were defeated, now it's time to see if Ganondorf or Ridley can give a better fight
This was a great video, keep up the great work!
The fact that he sees Sage as a daughter rather than just an invention to him was very heart felt.
love the vid! idk if you misspoke but iirc the robots weren’t “controlled” by flickies in adventure, they were powered by them

Sonic Battle not being here is a crime.
Plus it was Eggman's greatest win!
he did this with shadow and he's gonna do it again because it's not mainline
@@OSHAIO123 Sonic Battle directly leads into Sonic Advance 3 (& Sonic Chronicles if you count that) so Sonic Battle should be considered mainline
@@ionryful Exactly! Counting Advance games but not Battle makes no sense.
“He kidnaps animals, but this time, some of them are BIG”
I don’t know why it came off as funny as it did for me
Underselling Colors Eggman, a bit.
2:36 kitsune moment
Lol
