Anyone who proclaims that they have heard God after the Bible was already completed is already contradicting the Holy Bible. There will be many false prophets. It's funny how people try to defend her plagiarism by saying that "she didn't know how to write well what she saw in her visions", but the same people believe that Moses, who the bible say was not good as a speaker, was empowered by god to lead a whole nation and gave him the words to speak to the pharaoh. Couldn't god give EGW the right words to write avoiding this whole plagiarism problem?

It's as if God's revelations began with the ruckus of Charleston Heston leading the children of Israel out of Egypt with all of its divine supernatural display, and yet His revelations end with the whimper of a woman taking from the world around her, copyrighting her books, and yelling "Get Ready! I have seen the future".

I am so sick of people telling others that they have the light, beeing rescued, have the answer, knowing the only way, throwing verses from the Bible at you, eating the right food, dressing right, judging others in the name of God, exclude you from the eternal life, making your life miserable because they „ know“. I am sick of all who are useing verses and not simple words what they think, believe and experiencing and feel. The fear, the uncertainty, the doubt, the hope, and the doubt. The anger beeing stuck and not getting further. And can not except that this all is the way we learn. Perfectionism is the goal. No, I do not want that. Was grown up in SDA and left with a lot of drama when I was 19years. EG White was for me as child and juvenile a daily horror. No other books than the Bible and here’s . I still want to scream out loud. I am sick of „ the only right way“. How outrageous for human kind to explain God. We are all are sinners. Who knows what is going on in the heart? Using manipulative techniques to expose you in the name of God is actually narcissistic. Like the the scriptures of Mrs. White. Because she was putting herself on the the self level as the the Bible. Actually over. What a fraud.

As a child, we had photo presentations in church, at home at the devotions, in sabbatschool, in the preachings, in the callings for prozeliytice, in my education, what I was allowed to do, keeping me back from contact with children outside the church, not even Ice scaring, skiing, not even sommercamps with school, because they maybe would have given me unclean food. How to dress was very important. Make up was from the devil. Juwellery even small and almost unseen, the people in church saw it. And you were brought to ask how you dare you put some decent mascara on. The parents of all us grown in SDA tryed to control everything. When I asked for a book I could not have it. Only the Bible and EG White. I never believed in her visions. She was a bogeyman ( woman ) ruining my life, keeping my parents away from me. Natural joy and fun was only accepted under her watching eye. And love was always combined with right doing. Eternal life? Never to reach for my sinful little soul. Waiting for the Judgement day to get it over with. This is EG White. Destroying people’s harts and minds. What a fraud. My dying sister told me, that the only thing to believe is that Jesus Christ dyed for our sins on the cross and this makes us free. No EG White with maipulative wordsalad . I can not feel or accept what this woman was making up in her rules and claim to have inspiration from god . I am not going so far to say that she is satanic. No, but I do not trust her and believe that she was attention seeking, trying to be special and admired for her spiritual experiences. We see that with many other spiritual leading humans. My research makes it clear to me that EGW was an avid reader from her youth.
She read and made her own the ideas and doctrines of leading Millerites after the Great Disappointment, using those ideas to create her supposed "visions".
Later she acquired a large library of Christian books which she devoured and plagiarized from to create her books.
In her later writings and letters she takes on an intellectual and rational tone as if she is of a higher level of reasoning and understanding than all of the Adventist membership.
She was quite a talented con-woman.

@@remnantime3672 Did you know that the Torah (Old Testament) was and is considered open source for Jews?
It was for the use of the community and could be repeated for the benefit of the community.
It was also assumed that the readers would know that the statements came from the Torah.
The writers of Matthew and Luke borrowed from Mark which was written first. John's Gospel is of another order entirely and does not borrow from Mark.
Again these were open source writings for and of the Christian community and were not published books being marketed for money and having protected authorial rights.

Yes. Ponder how significant the world has transformed since the 1800s. If she saw the future (our time), or further--why did she not notice it looked completely different than the Victorian era? You would think airplanes, submarines, automobiles, computers, modern housing, space rockets, satellites, telephones, and technology in general would all have clued her in that she was not going to be translated because it was so different from her era. Look at what she wrote in 1888 (134 years ago!):
"The hour will come; it is not far distant, *and some of us who now believe will be alive* upon the earth, and shall see the prediction verified, and hear the voice of the archangel and the trump of God echo from mountain and plain and sea to the uttermost parts of the earth." - Ellen White, Advent Review and Herald 7/31/1888
Source: adventistdigitallibrary.org/islandora/object/adl:350407/datastream/PDF/view (page 482 middle left)

It’s absolutely miraculous that God gave her 2,000+ visions, so much information from The Thrown Of Heaven that God then had to direct her to human author’s to source the words for her writings - how convenient that human author’s had written these things that could later became inspired and carried apostolic authority……🤢🤮

She believes it is the work of the devil. All I can lean on is that she does love the Lord and accepts that he died for her sins. I am the one who may not be saved because I don’t worship on Sabbath. The way you share each step to follow the tangible evidence alongside your thought process is already more than sufficient to make a fair, diligent and convincing case. The way you sum it up, repeating only a selection the most solid and irrefutible facts that became abundantly clear during the examination to end in so much understatement not only leaves the slain elephant levitating (for the listener to pick up resp. pull down in his own time and manner). To me, it also stood in stark contrast to the grueling crescendo of ever more vague, yet all the louder claims to authority and veracity and ever broadly sweeping and deeply overreaching condemnation, unsubstantiated threats and accusation on part of the subject of investigation.
The rest of my personal impression is very tangible on an experiential level of pattern recognition, morally and also down to visceral reactions, but I won't repeat here what I shouted both in my head and in my kitchen while following the trial. Not because I regret any of it, but because it is up to each one to reach their own convictions and to judge rightly.
There's a terrifyingiceberg, and you clearly located, demonstrated, proved just the very tip of it. Imho, the admittance to at least that is vital, inevitable and overdue. To fathom what lies underneath and how that has been impacting us individually and a church (or even broader society as touched by both the narrative and the strivings) is up to each individual in the audience. I pray that they allow the Holy Spirit to lead and convict them in His own precise and gentle way so they can repent, flee to Christ and heal.

Hi thanks for the question. It is one many SDAs have. My dad has been asking the same when he is confronted with information like what's on this video. I will share what i tell him. I say Dad I don't think the way to go is to START by asking which is the true church. Start where you are by asking is the evidence about Mrs. White and the cover up of the SDA church factual or not. Do not make the question if its not this one then which one your next move. This is about you and GOD. God requires faith. ACT on what you have discovered as the truth of the SDA and THEN ask God the next question - where do you want me to worship.
When you sit in the SDA expecting God to reveal MORE TRUTH when you are not prepared to act on what truth is has ALREADY provided then you can rest assured it is not likely He is going to reveal more until you TRUST AND OBEY what He has already shared with you.
My advice is take the next step of faith. Act on what He has given you and He will reveal the next step to you but not before.
By the way not everything that egw and the sdac believe and teach is false. Of the 28 fundamental beliefs don't forget that about TWENTY THREE OR FOUR of them is basic Christian teaching. So no one is saying there's is not truth in it. But they have lied, covered up and deceived for well over a century and there is just too much to PROVE that for any genuine seeker to be still be wandering around trying to "figure it out"

To the person who originally asked I would say that there is no reason to avoid testing the prophet. Jesus warned against the rising of false prophets, clearly because there would be true prophets. The thing to remember is: Who provides the tests or criteria to determine who is a true prophet?
      The Bible does:
      Here they are:
Make predictions that “come to pass” (Jeremiah 28:9)
Glorify God rather than themselves (John 16:13)
Do not give their own private interpretations (2 Peter 1:20, 21)
      Point out sin (Micah 3:5-8)
Warn of coming judgment (Isaiah 24:20, 21)
      Edify the church (1 Corinthians 14:3, 4)
Give messages that harmonize with the Bible (Isaiah 8:20)
Teach that Jesus came in the flesh (1 John 4:1-3)
      Have a Christ-like character (Matthew 7:16-20).
Are obedient to the will of God (Deuteronomy 18:18).
      Let these be your guide.

Remember, I am an Atheist now, but her claims of being the only one to share God's light sounds like some prideful boasting and bullshit!
People love to point to Steps To Christ as such a groundbreaking work. But, having read that....how the hell could she possibly know what Christ was thinking? Oh yeah, she was a prophet and of course you just can't question a prophet of disprove them. Most of what she writes contradicts established scripture, but hey, she was a prophet/s. NO I am not bashing on women. I also think that pompous man that is Saint Agustin is just as bad. I am sure that introducing the ideas of City of God vs City of Man was totally helpful to the movement and didn't hurt the ideas of us actually having agency in this world. Great video BTW. I feel like a massive idiot for ever believing SDA bullshit and lies. Not everything was a lie, but the more I learn, the closer to cult status I am going to put that church. The so-called prophet was very much "touched in the head" as they used to say in the 19th Century. The end of the world is still waiting because Jesus clearly operates on an Intel 8088 processor that is moving so slowly that in a few 1000 years, he might finally come back, maybe, if we say please? This is mostly sarcasm, because that prophecy is NOT in established scripture. Not the way she wrote it. Food for thought.

Ok, I got through your series and I have some criticisms, despite it being well-made.
    1. Did you address the actual test of a prophet from Deut. 18:20-22? I didn't catch that part. It seemed to me that you spent the vast majority of the time highlighting plagiarism, which is tenuously linked to "thou shalt not steal", despite quoting others not being stealing (or we'd all be guilty).
    2. Just a question, but did you get the impression that a certain percentage of her work could be said to be plagiarised, and what percentage that might be? If we imagined it was 50%, let's say, although I would start off guessing it was a much smaller figure, what do we do with the remaining 50%? If she has the ability to write that much, and so well, why would she have a need to copy? If she didn't have a need, then what other reasons could there be for the copying? You did address the possibility here, but I don't think you addressed the above implication.
    3. If most or all of the authors she copied from have been forgotten, and yet their work has survived to the present largely because of Ellen, would you say that's a net benefit for the reader or no?
I'm not certain we have the correct approach in judging prophets. Look at our experience. We have none. Apparently there hasn't been a prophet for 2000 years. Are we correct to use only our preconcieved interpretations of how to judge whether a prophet is true or no? Maybe, maybe not. I think you've done some solid work here, and I don't want to take anything away, but some questions remain.
I'm currently looking into the calendar of the bible, and trying to figure out if the Sabbath is tied to the calendar or not. So far, I find the sola scriptura approach to be fairly straightforward: There is no way to tell which day is Saturday from reading the bible alone that I can see. There is however a fairly straightforward way to figure out the Sabbath based on the sky calendar that God made and Gen 1:14 references. Ellen didn't write about this, and if she was wrong, I wouldn't necessarily blame her. No one human has been given all the truth, that I know of.

      Just a quick comment.
There ARE prophets. MANY. Both legitimate and false still very much in operation. What you're looking through when you made the comment are STILL 7th Day Adventist LENS. THEY have made claims to one alone AND it's kinda appalling to see that they think the promise of 1Cor 12 about this one spiritual gift could possibly be LIMITED to one single solitary woman from the 1800s. Did God limit the gift of healing, faith, wisdom, teaching, administration, helps, discernment to the 1800s? And why has this one gift been practically singled out and worshipped by this "church"?
Regarding the matter of a thief keeping the original authors books alive I'm curious as to what point are you trying to make? HER "books" taken together have done far more damage to the human soul than being a blessing. And have their work "survived to present"?? A few seventh day adventists on the planet make reference to them in their online discussions and you think that translates into "survived"? Come on.
And it is more than 50%. Do some research on the two SDA scholars who were hired by the church to investigate the accusations - Dr Fred Veltmam and I think the other is Ronald McAdams.

Hanukkah is a celebration to remember the cleansing of the temple as prophesized by Daniel, the same day hijacked by SDA to be about a imaginary heavenly temple.
If we in modern time have a day to openly celebrate Jesus, (even if it was not his birthday) why should we reject to spread the gospel and celebrate with a nativity scene on display ? As you said in your introduction, there is a type of "reverence" about "Sister White". Many will try to say she never called herself a prophet.... this usually comes from a twisted interpretation of Selected Messages, where she called herself a messenger, and in the Review and Herald article July 26,1906 she called her work "much more than a prophet" and also called herself a medical missionary. This is double speak to avoid being called a false prophetess, by saying she never said prophet... no she called her work "more than a prophet". Christ warned us about false teachers and false prophets on more than one occasion, so I would say it's an important topic. Thank you for your research, this would make a good documentary.

Just examining ADL's "refutation" of your videos. Some very basic observations:
1.) God the father (a valid biblical concept, hard to deny)
2.) The son (a valid biblical concept, hard to deny)
3.) The holy spirit (a valid biblical concept, hard to deny)
4.) The testimony of Jesus IS the spirit of Prophecy (a valid biblical concept, hard to deny)
    5.) 3 & 4 ARE synonymous (suspending judgement)
#5 - Yes, the holy spirit moved the prophets along... but this is not the only endeavor of the holy spirit (open to discussion)
6.) Ellen was led by the holy spirit, just like biblical prophets... so, she possessed: The Spirit of Prophecy
#6 - It's a great semantic argument. Also, a problematic one. Because of what it implies.
This claim imbues her with a certain kind of authority. What kind of authority? The same kind of authority that Abraham had. Or Moses... or Paul... or John on Patmos.
If she has the same "kind" of authority as the prophets in scripture, she has A LOT of authority, to shape doctrine... and give new revelations. (really stretching the promise of Sola Scriptura)
In order to determine if ANY aspect of #6 is valid, we have to consult scripture.
Is scripture sufficient to tell us?
    IS SCRIPTURE SUFFICIENT AT ALL?
When something is sufficient, we can only add components (parts, pieces, words, pages, predictions, pontifcations or policies) that are non-essential.
When something is non-essential, it is frivolous.
Is Ellen's work simply frivolous, or something far worse?

    • @TesttheProphet
      @TesttheProphet  Год назад +6

Your questions are valid. If she was the lesser light pointing us to the greater light (scripture) why the fight to keep her in the game? Just be happy everyone is returning to their Bibles and the Bible alone! Of course, we know it is more complicated than that in Adventism. We were never by the Bible alone. EGW has been publishing her testimonies in one form or another the entire time, and as I pointed out in Part 5 if you believe them to be her opinion then you insult God. How does one just brush over that? The Bible has authority....but so does what she wrote? How can I go by the Bible alone but then also have to keep Ellen's admonitions in the back of mind to make sure I do not overstep a new boundary she wrote about? ADL would likely argue that she was a non-canonical prophet and thus pointed to the canon instead of replacing it or stepping above in authority. But why would a non-canonical prophet write such an exhaustive retelling of the Bible? Why do people take her word as to how to interpret a passage/concept in the Bible? It's not as though she wrote a short pamphlet and handed that out at the early camp-meetings reminding people to read their Bibles. She wasn't the gentle old grandma rocking on her front porch reminding kids walking by to read their Bibles either. No, she rewrote the entire Bible, inserted new details, claimed to have visions, called peoples sins out in public to avoid a frowning Jesus, and then wrote that God wants them to buy her books.
As I mentioned towards the end of this video, she wrote:
"Many are going directly contrary to the light which God has given to His people, because they do not read the books which contain the light and knowledge in cautions, reproofs, and warnings. The cares of the world, the love of fashion, and the lack of religion have turned the attention from the light God has so graciously given, while books and periodicals containing error are traveling all over the country. Skepticism and infidelity are increasing everywhere. Light [contained in her books, is] so precious, coming from the throne of God, [and] is hid under a bushel. God will make His people responsible for this neglect. An account must be rendered to Him for every ray of light He has let shine upon our pathway [such as her books], whether it has been improved to our advancement in divine things or rejected because it was more agreeable to follow inclination." Testimonies to the Church Volume 5, Ellen White.
If she is simply pointing to the Bible, why are Adventists responsible for neglecting the light in her books? Who wouldn't buy all of them and study them like mad to make sure God would not hold them accountable?
As you said, "Is Ellen's work simply frivolous, or something far worse?"

I really don't think so. It can happen but here's why I don't think so. If she owned these books what is more likely. She had the books in her library. PLus Mrs white was asked many times if she was copying and never admitted that she was reading these books. We were told she wsa not literate and so the beauty of her writing had to be God Given. It is a well known fact that the very White Estate will now confirm that she employed THIRTEEN literary writers to help her write her books. For over a century this was known but if we were told we would not be as easily led nor would we have spent as much MONEY buying the books AND the church woudl not have made the significant funds it did.

I will start off by making clear that I am a Seventh-day Adventist. One who was not "born" in the faith, but one who came to the faith later in life. I don’t intend to enter into debate with anyone, but simply to address this series of videos from a perspective differing from that which seems to prevail in this comment section.
Like others in the comment section have noted, the speaker in this series maintains a calm, relatable tone and manner of speech, which I appreciate. However, I have to say that this series, while apparently extensively researched, fails to address the primary topic for which the producer claims to have made series in the first place. The title of the channel is "Test the Prophet", a clear reference to 1 John 4:1 where God's people are told to test the spirits to determine if a prophet is true or false. The speaker starts the series by asserting that this is what he intends to address, but his entire series discusses plagiarism and the intent of Ellen White and the SDA church. To me, the logical question when attempting to cover such a topic would be, "How do I know if a prophet is true or not? How does one test the validity of a prophet?" Does the Bible provide any information as to how one can make such a determination, or does Jesus warn us against false prophets without giving us any way to know? The answer is, ‘yes’, the Bible does give us criteria by which to discern the nature of a prophet. Does the Bible, as does this presenter, assert that one of ways to tell if a person is a true prophet would be based on whether or not they quote from other sources, or earlier authors? The plain answer is no. The Bible provides several tests of a true prophet, but this is not one of them. In fact, we would have to dismiss some of the canonical literary prophets (prophets whose writings are included in the Bible) if we were to use this presenter's criteria for veracity of a prophet's claim to Divine inspiration.
Another interesting thing that I did not hear this presenter address surrounds his assertions of plagiarism directly. In a previous video, the speaker discussed the attorney who was hired to investigate the claims made over the years that Ellen White was a plagiarist/literary pirate, etc. The speaker goes into great detail in the video, reading several definitions of plagiarism, literary piracy and so on. Personally, I believe this detail, which ultimately proves irrelevant to the stated assertion, is little more than a smoke screen designed to conceal the weakness of the position taken in this series. I believe a few reasonable questions to ask in light of the information provided are:
    1) where are all of the successful lawsuits brought against Ellen White and the Adventist church? Indeed, the speaker asserts that most of the works from which she 'purloined' her material were beyond copyright timelines, but not all of them were. And, if she 'stole' work from so many, where is the line of plaintiffs to unmask this charlatan or, in the very least, collect their checks?
    2) How many pages, of the 100,000+ pages written by Ellen White over the course of her ministry, were ‘purloined’ from other authors? Surely, one who was so destitute of inspiration as to need to steal the frame, photos and substance of the work of others, as this speaker claims Ellen White to have been, would be found to have much of these pages to be the work of others. 50%? 25%? Even 10%? Surely, if 10,000 pages of her work were stolen from the works of others, the White Estate would be accountable to quite a few people.
    3) What does God expect people to do with the warnings, writings and counsels of His prophets? This question is perhaps the most important of the three. If God expects His people to believe and obey the words of His prophets (a point I will assume everyone who reads their Bibles will concede), then our only task is to determine whether a prophet is true or false, as determined by BIBLICAL criteria. The speaker muses as to how to best deal with the ‘doublespeak’ of the Adventist church in claiming to believe in sola Scriptura, yet also advocating the importance of the writings of a proclaimed prophet, Ellen White. Well, I would encourage this speaker, or anyone, to put her and her works to the Biblical tests and determine whether she was a true prophet, or not. Then you will know what to do.

Excellent response! The “fruit” of Ellen White is a church that gravitates toward Christ Jesus. And one that is willing to follow the Bible to some places that make living in this world difficult.
I will say that the Bible wars against the “Sanctuary Doctrine” and that EGW’s positions on the state of the dead are not fully supported by the Bible. Also her interpretation of Genisis 6:1-4 is flat wrong.
And the Bible authors continually quote other Bible authors and some outside books. Peter and Jude quote 1 Enoch.
I am honored to be able to say I know Jesus Christ, so while I can see the problems with EGW and the church she was a part of, I’m not going to hate on the sausage factory that led me to Him.

I must say that the state of the dead was one of the more plainly Biblical doctrines I found even before I became an Adventist. This doctrine, while I do understand how it is problematic for many (especially today in the midst of such an ecumenical climate), I have found to be Biblically and logically sound.

@@navion1946 First, let me say again that I appreciate your response and respect your God-given right to believe as you choose. That being said, rather than disproving the sanctuary doctrine, the chapters in Hebrews which you mentioned (6,9,11) reinforce rather than disprove the sanctuary doctrine. It is a broad topic, but I will try to respond with brevity.
      1) Jesus is referred to as our High Priest throughout the book of Hebrews and you, yourself, said that Jesus entered into the Most Holy Place (MHP) before 1844, indicating a belief in a Heavenly sanctuary. So I assume that your objection is not to the idea of there being a Heavenly Sanctuary, but rather to either the nature of Jesus' ministry in this sanctuary or the timing of His entry into the MHP.
      2) We know that the earthly sanctuary was modeled after the Heavenly (Heb. 8). Not only the structure, but the services were God-given and were to represent Christ and His work on our behalf in the plan of salvation. So, when the author of Hebrews makes reference to the sanctuary, we would benefit from studying the services in Exodus and Leviticus in order to learn the duty and function of the high priest and all the associated services (Isaiah 28:10).
      3) Once we have an understanding of the order and services of the sanctuary, then we have the appropriate context by which to understand the sanctuary in Hebrews. For example, Hebrews 6:19 uses the phrase 'within the veil', which, out of context, could be taken to mean, within the MHP. However, the word, veil, refers to both the curtain that separated the MHP from the HP, as well as the HP from the courtyard, or outer sanctuary. Since this word is generic, then we need context in order to determine the author's meaning here.
Verses 9&10 in Hebrews 9 tell us that the earthly services continued to function until Jesus died and, by His death, put an end to the earthly services (and, I would assert, at that time began the heavenly services).
If we consider the context, in conjunction with the author's assertion in chapter 9 that Jesus did not enter the 'holy places' without blood, but with His own precious blood, then we understand that 'within the veil' in 6:19 refers to Christ's entrance into the HP at His ascension, and not the MHP. After all, He could not have entered the HP prior to His death and resurrection because He could only minister His blood after His sacrifice on Calvary.
      4) Hebrews 9:8 confirms the above statement. Admittedly, there is confusion concerning the term 'ta hagia', which is translated as both 'holy places' and 'holiest of all' in Hebrews 9. However, reference to the MHP is clarified in verse 3, where the phrase 'hagia hagion' is appropriately used, which literally means 'holy of holies'. The correct and literal translation of Hebrews 9:8 would be, "that the way into the holy places (ta hagia) was not yet made manifest while as the first tabernacle was yet standing." In other words, the way into the Heavenly sanctuary was made open after the earthly services came to an end of their purpose (i.e. - Jesus' death put an end to the efficacy of the earthly temple services).
      5) Regarding Hebrews 11, aside from the last few verses talking about the cleansing, or perfecting, of the saints, I am unsure how this disproves the sanctuary doctrine. If you are willing to share your thoughts, I am willing to listen. God bless.

I am a year late to seeing this, but I will give my 2 cents.
Some things you will not understand when first hearing or first reading. As the bible says it the just shall live by faith. Faith is believing something that you don't know for a fact.
I will say my story. I grew up going to the seventhday Adventist Church, got baptist at 9 years old. I had a unique disposition, I was not the brightest but I was the type that was willing to try stuff that I read even though I did not understand the material initially. I look back and I would like to thank God for allowing me to be like that.
So I could remember reading the Bible everyday for many years and I also used to study Ellen White writings. I understood to a degree what I was reading but I did not have a deep level understanding to see the bible and Ellen White writings as material to be taken seriously.
Fortunately for me, because I read the stuff so much it was deeply rooted in my mind. So being aware of what the Bible said and what Ellen White wrote, I was able to observe life and draw the connection to see the reality of the bible and the reality of Ellen White writings.
With my experience I can just smile to myself, when people doubt what Ellen White wrote and whether God is real.
A lot of people have been blessed because they used Ellen White writings as a reference for guidance.
I will say this, a lot of people have rejected Ellen White writings and the Bible and think they are ok. But what they don't know is the day will come when they will find themselves in a spot and had they read and accepted Ellen White material they would have had the knowledge to work their way through problems that they find themselves in or totally avoided certain mistakes.
I considered myself highly bless, thanks to heeding the Bible and Ellen White for the most.
I am not saying I am perfect and everything is perfect for me but I am in a real good position.
I can also say when someone accepts the lord and apply the light that they receive the Lord will give that person more light and by applying the new light you will grow in knowledge and some have seen how the lord works miracles for them.
I have experience the supernatural on many, many occasions so I know what I am talking about. I am talking stuff that if you hear them you will think that cannot be, I must be imagining things. Example I remember it was raining and I as the lord to stop the rain, and within a minute the rain stop. Then another time I was praying for the lord to make the weather be a certain way for an event and the Lord made the weather be exactly how I requested for the event and when the event was over the weather changed.

Ellen White maintained extensive diaries or journals. Not only did she (generally) keep daily records but often she amplified her thoughts, seemingly without any particular reason except to let her mind flow out on paper. these entries included both personal impressions and thoughts from her reading. At such times, without any attempt to organize under specific headings, Mrs. white copied or paraphrased those items from her extensive reading that she wanted to remember. From these journals her editorial assistants would gather material from periodical articles. As time passed, many of these early jottings became part of her published books.

Understanding Ellen White, chapter 5 (more information is listed there as it relates to these main points).
God will not remove doubt. Don't confuse doubt with error.
How many of you are honestly following these guidelines?
    Just a thought...be well...
First, begin your study with a prayer for guidance and understanding. The Holy Spirit, who inspired the work of prophets across the ages, is the only one who is in a position to unlock the meaning in their writings.
Second, we need to approach our study with an open mind. Most of us realize that no person is free of bias, no one is completely open-minded. We also recognize that bias enters into every area of our lives. But that reality doesn't mean that we need to let our biases control us.
A third healthy mind-set in the reading of Ellen White is that of faith rather than doubt. As Mrs. White put it, "Many think it a virtue, a mark of intelligence in them, to be unbelieving and to question and quibble. Those who desire to doubt will have plenty of room. God does not propose to remove all occasion for unbelief. He gives evidence, which must be carefully investigated with a humble mind and a teachable spirit, and all should decide from the weight of evidence" (Testimonies for the Church, vol. 3, p. 255).
"God gives sufficient evidence for the candid mind to believe; but he who turns from the weight of evidence because there are a few things which he cannot make plain to his finite understanding will be left in the cold, chilling atmosphere of unbelief and questioning doubts, and will make shipwreck of faith" (ibid., vol. 4, pp. 232, 233).
**If individuals wait for all possibility of doubt to be removed, they will never believe. That is as true of the Bible as it is of Ellen White's writings. Our acceptance rests on faith rather than on absolute demonstration of flawlessness. Ellen White appears to be correct when she writes that "those who have most to say against the testimonies are generally those who have not read them, just as those who boast of their disbelief of the Bible are those who have little knowledge of its teachings" (Selected Messages, book 1, pp. 45, 46).**
    ...the list continues....

    5. Account for Problems in Communication
    6. Study All Available Information on a Topic

Well. Jeremiah also said that all should hold fast to his words and since it is their own fault if they do not. It was the same with Samuel and many other prophets. Above all, even Paul copied from others. I don't know if you are aware of that. Jesus quoted so many passages from the Old Testament without saying whether it was to whom. It was natural at that time that all good things were copied. According to this view, Paul must be called a liar and godless, but anyone who does this has already received his reward, namely the lake of fire and the second death.

I know it helps to compare what Paul did but it is important to note the huge difference. Paul used A LINE. Ellen copied copious amounts from many books. Please see the studies done by two adventist scholars. Their work was commissioned BY the church and PAID for by the church. Dr. Fred Veltman and Dr. Ronald McAdams. Here's a quote from one of the reports from Dr. McAdams ""If every paragraph in The Great Controversy were footnoted in accordance with accepted practice, giving credit where credit was due, ALMOST EVERY paragraph would be footnoted."
Paul also never LIED about using a quote of another person. He never PRETENDED it was his. He simply quoted someone. Mrs. white her son Arthur and the Conference executives DENIED for decades that she was using the work of others.
Paul never instructed anyone to never depend on the work of others for your writings. Mrs. White did.
Did Paul and the others benefit financially from their books after taking the work of others to make that money?
it is not reasonable at all to not compare Paul's and Jesus' time to Ellen White. When Mrs. White was first accused she and her publishers ensured the second version of Great Controversy used quotes in SOME places. It was certainly not all. Why would folks accuse you of something that did not exist? Why would her publishers response if copywriting did ot exist? Why did she continue to take other writer's content AFTER that experience. Why did was her first book on the apostle's pulled from the shelf after being released in 1883? Because she stole so much from another book, their publishers threatened to sue. She then redid it and published it with a new name over ten years later in 1911 as Acts of the Apostles.
Here's a helpful quote from Jeremiah 23:21,30 "I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran: I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied. Therefore, behold, I am against the prophets, saith the LORD, that steal my words everyone from his neighbour.”
Do not be afraid to see the truth and admit that we were deceived and lied to.

    Non sense testing.
If God wants to send a message,
Will it be that the message is different for each person He use?

Nonsense? Ask Jeremiah. There is nothing new under the sun.
"I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran: I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied. Therefore, behold, I am against the prophets, saith the LORD, that steal my words everyone from his neighbour.”
      (Jeremiah 23:21,30).
Nothing wrong with the same message coming to many different persons and expressed over the year. f
Do not miss that when she was asked if she was using others work, she denied it - that's called LYING
Do not miss that she also benefitted financially and significantly so from the use of their work
Do not miss that the church told us for almost 2 centuries that SHE HAD A GIFT. She was illiterate and could ONLY write like this because of God's annointing. SHE HAD THIRTEEN LITERARY ASSISTANTS.
Do not run from the truth. This is not NONSENSE. This is valuable information IF you are looking for the facts.

James 1:17 Says every good and perfect gift comes from God. No individual or church hold monopoly of God’s truth.
God is no respecter of persons. He speaks to whoever is sincere and willing to obey.
    Now, think about this:
We know from God’s Word that God’s law is immutable, we know He wants to write it on our hearts (Jer 31, Eze 36, Hebrews 8)
James says draw near to God and he will draw near to you. It stands to reason that God would draw nearer to those who seek to keep covenant and obey his law (Psalm 103) and would send messages of encouragement and guidance to them through His messenger.
    Is it so unreasonable
to believe that God would take information that he shared with other writers (minds) and show it to EGW in order to tell his faithful people what he wanted them to know? without her having to necessarily read them?
Would it be possible that God allowed things to unfold the way they did (passages from
other authors, not giving credit) to test the faith of those who would test the prophet?
Would EGW meet the tests of a true prophet given by God himself in His Word if these were applied to her?
Make predictions that “come to pass” (Jeremiah 28:9)
Glorify God rather than themselves (John 16:13)
Do not give their own private interpretations (2 Peter 1:20, 21)
    Point out sin (Micah 3:5-8)
Warn of coming judgment (Isaiah 24:20, 21)
    Edify the church (1 Corinthians 14:3, 4)
Give messages that harmonize with the Bible (Isaiah 8:20)
Teach that Jesus came in the flesh (1 John 4:1-3)
    Have a Christ-like character (Matthew 7:16-20).
Are obedient to the will of God (Deuteronomy 18:18).
All throughout history God has chosen the foolishness of this world 1 Cor 1:27 to silence/shame the wisdom of this world. The early christians were mocked for believing in a God that was crucified, for believing in the resurrection of the dead.
God has always tested the hearts by doing unconventional things.
The challenge is to look beyond the apparent absurdity, renouncing our own ideas and letting the Holy Spirit explain the things of God to us.

God did not remove the possibility of doubt in the OT. God did not remove the possibility of doubt in the NT. God has not removed the possibility of doubt since then. Doubt will always exist.
Individuals (whether they believe or not) are not the source for wisdom/discernment for any subject. God is the ultimate source. I believe you know that.
However, Biblically speaking, it should be "easy" to discredit EGW standing. Right? Do you believe that SDA are just "stuck" and won't listen to reason? Or, do you believe that there's "something" that has been researched/studied that causes them to continue in their belief based on what the Bible teaches? Regardless of your answer the belief that EGW was a true prophet is based on faith. And faith is always accompanied with the possibility of doubt.
