    The Gospel of Jesus Christ:
    Man is a sinner (Romans 3:23; 1 John 1:8) and our sin has separated us from our Maker (Isaiah 59:2). In His grace, God entered into His own creation in the person of Jesus Christ (John 1:1-14; Col. 1:19), born of a virgin (Matt. 1:23), and lived a perfect and sinless life, fulfilling all the Law’s demands (2 Cor. 5:21; Matt. 5:17), on a mission by God the Father to save sinners from condemnation (John 3:16-18, 6:37-40). He paid the penalty for sin which is death (Romans 6:23) and bore the sins of His people in His body on a cross (1 Peter 2:24), making propitiation by His blood (Romans 3:25). He died, was buried, and resurrected in the same body He died in on the third day for our justification (1 Cor. 15, Romans 4:25; Luke 24:39). By a living faith (James 2:18) in the Person and Work of Jesus (Romans 10:9-10), God graciously declares a person righteous (Romans 4:5), they are reconciled to their Creator (Romans 5:10-11), given Christ’s righteousness in full (Phil. 3:8-9), sealed with the Holy Spirit (Eph. 1:13), and have peace with God (Romans 5:1). They are born again of the Spirit (1 John 5:1, Titus 3:5), adopted into His family(Eph. 4:5-7), and are granted eternal resurrection life in Jesus Christ (1 John 5:11), set free to do good works that please Him (Eph. 2:10; 1 John 2:3-4). Jesus will physically return one day to judge the living and the dead (1 Peter 4:5; Acts 24:15; John 5:24-5), throwing the wicked out of His Kingdom (Matt. 13:41-3), but His people will be spared from the wrath to come (1 Thess. 1:10) to dwell in union with God forever (Rev. 21:3).

    Ellen White’s soteriology is squarely closer to Catholicism than anything classically Protestant. Luther would roll over in his grave knowing SDAs are appropriating him.
    “God requires the entire surrender of the heart, before justification can take place; and *in order for man to retain justification,* there must be *continual obedience,* through active, living faith that works by love and purifies the soul.”
    {Selected Messages, Vol. 1, p. 366}

      Luther was near to the truth, justification comes by belief, by faith, bringing peace but deeper peace comes by what he described i.e full heart devotion the latter is consecration, so justification precedes consecration then sanctification and ultimately deliverance.

    All of the Law finds fulfilment in Christ. Salvation through Christ is so simple that a thief on a cross on one said " Lord, when though comest into thy Kingdom remember me"
    Jesus said to him "today shall thou be with me in paradise".
    The problem that many christian is having is life after salvation. The christian lived his by overcoming sin through him. The Law points out sin, not righteousness.
    Christians become the righteous of God, in him (Christ).

      I don’t have to “meet with John.” Did John meet with all of the “apostate Protestants” he is slandering before going into TV to bear false witness about them? No, he didn’t.
      John isn’t my brother. You’re misapplying Matthew to try and say I need to meet with him privately when he wronged me.
      That’s not what’s going on here. You don’t have to go to people privately who PUBLICLY are making presentations. This has nothing to be with me and John personally. This is a PUBLIC presentation that was PUBLICLY responded to.
      Stop twisting the Bible.

    • @dwilliams1888
      @dwilliams1888 3 месяца назад

      So if John is wrong slandering others your slandering him is OK? Do you justify your actions by pointing out his wrongs does that make it right to slander him? You would have to ask John if he met with others. I'm speaking to you now. John 3:17 says Jesus came to save not condemn.
      Why is John not your brother? He says he has accepted Jesus as his savior. Are not all believers brothers and sisters?
      ”Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted. Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.“
      ‭‭Galatians‬ ‭6‬:‭1‬-‭2‬ ‭NIV‬‬
      My question to all who disagree with someone is Are You Willing to Die for Them? Are we praying for those we think are lost, wrong or angry at? Do we Love (Agape) them? Jesus said they will know you are mine by the Love you have for one another. Love goes out of it's way to seek and help those that have gone astray. Are we going out of our way to help those who we believe have gone astray? Are we lifting up Jesus John 12:32 or focusing on disagreeing?

    Romans 8:2-9 For the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus has freed you from the law of sin and death. For what the law, weakened by the flesh, was powerless to do, this God has done: by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for the sake of sin, he condemned sin in the flesh, so that the righteous decree of the law might be fulfilled in us, who live not according to the flesh but according to the spirit. For those who live according to the flesh are concerned with the things of the flesh........The concern of the flesh is death.......For the concern of the flesh is hostility toward God; it does not submit to the law of God, nor can it; and those who are in the flesh cannot please God. But you are not in the flesh; on the contrary, you are in the spirit, if only the Spirit of God dwells in you.
    Romans 8:12-13 Consequently, brothers, we are not debtors to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. For if you live according to the flesh, you will die, but if by the spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.
    Romans 6:18 Freed from sin, you have become slaves of righteousness.
    Romans 6:22 But now that you have been freed from sin and have become slaves of God, the benefit that you have leads to sanctification, and its end is eternal life. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift/reward of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
    Romans 6:4, 6-7 We were indeed buried with him through baptism into death, so that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might live in newness of life. We know that our old self was crucified with him, so that our sinful body might be done away with, that we might no longer be in slavery to sin. For a dead person has been absolved from sin.
    Romans 6:16b Do you not know that if you........., you are slaves of the one you obey, either of sin, which leads to death, or of obedience, which leads to righteousness?
    We ought to be aware that although our spirit has been made alive in Christ Jesus our soul (will, emotion, passion, envy, intellect) lives in a sinful body. We eagerly await the redemption of our body through the Holy Spirit.

    I love the subject of monergism vs synergism. Actually going to both Lutheran Missouri Synod and Catholic Churches, I think there is a misunderstanding. Lutherans do believe Christ is our sole means of Salvation apart from our own will, however, they also believe repentance, baptism and confession of sins are necessary for salvation. Catholics believe the same, only I think Catholics are more proactive and assertive for promoting repentance, confession and forgiveness. The Catholic Catechism states these sacraments are definitely necessary for salvation, but that Jesus is the only reason that we are initially saved in the first place. However, because of free will, a person has the right to not repent and live in sin. If they choose that, then they can lose their salvation, because they are rejecting Christ and trampling on Him. All other "works" as people say are not necessary for salvation, but a tool to help us in our walk with the Lord. This is what Catholics believe.
    Lutherans, I would say, believe the same.
    SDAs on the other hand believe you must do certain "works" to be saved, such as vegetarianism, keeping the 7th day Sabbath, dress a certain way, etc, in order to go to heaven. That belief is more like synergism.

      Lutherans don't believe repentance, baptism and confession of sins are necessary for salvation. That is mixing law and gospel. Keeping law and gospel separate is one of the hallmarks of Lutheranism. Faith in Christ is all that is necessary for salvation in Lutheran doctrine. Things like repentance and confession sins are simply fruits of faith. They contribute nothing to salvation.

      Baptism, Repentance and Absolution are the means of the Divine Grace which God comes to us to deliver us. Faith Alone saves whereas the Christian and his family walk in the means of Grace until made perfect only in the Lutheran's death. Isn't that wonderful?
