I will never understand the hate Coldplay receives. Chris Martin has written some of the most beautiful songs ever, and they deserve to be recognised as a great band. They haven't had an album out for a long time but are still selling out stadiums, so that speaks volumes to me. This performance was outstanding, and every time I have seen Coldplay they have been. L❤ve.
My sister took her life on 6 July 2024 after over two decades struggling with mental illness. We had been estranged for over a year, but we were soulmates from the time we were children. I couldn't fix her no matter what I did, and towards the end of her days, I had to choose to save myself, as a sufferer of mental illness myself, when I realised my own trauma and realised it wasn't my job to fix her. This song embodies everything in the loss and the pain of being left behind, and all the words unsaid. There is a pit in me that can never be filled. This song was there for me as a lost and depressed 15 year old. And it's here for me now as lost and broken and depressed 34-year-old. Lights will guide you home, my darling sister and soulmate. Until I can hold you again.
I cannot begin to imagine what you have gone through, or are going through, but this random stranger internet is sending you all their love and fortitude. ❤❤❤
This song now embodies the strength and courage you had in being a sister. Putting someone else before you to help in anyway you could. Thats. Everything. Never change.
Watching Michael J Fox do that kick before the huge crescendo in that song will forever bring me to tears. The sheer amount of effort to do that, knowing how he was and what has happened and the effect he had on the band and my life, damn.. makes you hope that humanity still has a chance.
Beautifully said .... Tears streaming down my face also .... Nice to see the demons out in full force, even on a comment like this desperately trying to harvest some of our energy .... Keep trying ❤❤❤❤
This video captures the best of humanity in the current time. Different people, different nationalities, different beliefs, collectively enjoying and engaging joyfully. No hate, no violence, just pure emotion. This has been Coldplay’s legacy, and this can be seen and felt through all of their concerts but especially Glastonbury.
My wife and i are 74 years old, we've been married fifty four years, it gives us great joy to see so many young people enjoying themselves, remember this there is not a millionaire, multi millionaire or billionaire who wouldn't exchange all they've got for the one thing you have, YOUTH, all the best to you all.
Thank you so much. I need to hear this. I’m 36 and turning 37 in a month. I feel like I haven’t accomplished anything with my life and I’m so worried it’s all over for me. Thank you for posting what you did.
I'm 65 and would never swap this age for youth. The way I look at it is that I like who I am now, despite going through years of mental health issues, tragedy and the loss of everything I own. However, I have now beaten all those things. The reason why I am "me" is because of all the years I have lived. If I went back to my youth, or I became a 'youth" of today, I would be a totally different person. Maybe I may not have liked the person I became if things had been different. The reality of life is that NOBODY in the entire history of humanity is, has been or will be YOU. YOU get the gold medal for being YOU. YOU are enough, just as you are, because of your past, because of your pain, because of your joy and despite regrets. Every day you live, take time out to truly celebrate life and then, most importantly, celebrate the unique YOU. Cheers Peter Chatteris Speaker - Author - Coach www.peterchatteris.com
*This is what the human race was meant to look like... No hate... No racism... No homophobia... No prejudice... No mobile phones... Just everyone coming together as one... Nothing but love*
But like anything popular it grew, and had to handle the masses. If it was just 'open', there would be, and was chaos with added exploitation to the situation. Thats why it needed to become more secure. Just sit with in the fact that you got there to experience it as you did. Its over 35 years from when i first went. There were fences then. @Archiesquaddy
What is what people together with music can create? Don’t be naive. It’s just a festival where they go to sing, they leave the venue and go back to ignore the real issues and fight against injustices. Wish all that people sing and shout to demand a ceasefire for example.
Hey, I understand where you are coming from but it’s not easy to create this, and yes just because people go back to the real world after it has happened it doesn’t mean that it didn’t happen and for the band themselves this is what they do day in and day out, they create positivity and they absolutely make this world a better place for all of us and that is the most amazing thing a group of people can come together and do, I love coldplays music, but more than anything I love the positive contribution they make to the world and to the people who support them, no one brings people together in a concert like they do and in a world full of negativity, I think everyone should be a bit more Chris Martin (or Coldplay)
I didn't grow with Coldplay but it'd be stupid to ignore this. Some shit is just pure art and there's no other way around. This song could never be what it is if Chris' essence didn't relate.
Chris, thanks for teaching us how to be a great human being! Bringing Mr. Michael J. Fox on stage it is the most humble act a pop star like you could do! I'm so thankful for Coldplay! You guys are way ahead of many bands out there.
@@robtaylor5893haha highly doubtful! You die with Parkinsons, not of it! There's a reason he's in a wheel chair when he could walk and that's to prevent a fatal fall which is a massive killer of this disease.
I was there and honestly was the most emotional moment I had during a concert. This is the reason why music is so important to people, makes you realize how lucky we are to be alive.
Hi… I seen this on TV…… loved it and I’ve always loved this song….. Coldplay is so talented and you can feel the love coming from him……. Prayers for you… how are you doing?? Sending hugs love prayers xx❤🙏
As someone who spent 7 hours stuck in traffic driving back from my holiday in Cornwall because of Glastonbury I had a bit of resentment for this festival over the last 48 hours. But watching this video and seeing so many people together having a good time and enjoying music after we all the shit we suffered with covid and now with all of the problems going on around the world this was a nice reminder that we need unity now more than ever and music is the universal language for that. Still, 7 fucking hours it took.
Your fault for driving anywhere on the biggest weekend of the year in the UK. Glastonbury festival, Euros and it's Pride in London too this weekend. Yo fault.
This is the best thing I've seen in years. This old man is sobbing. Thank you for recognizing a good man and blessing him with a night he will never forget.
My mom is living with dementia and I had her write "But if you never try, you'll never know, Just what you're worth" in her handwriting and I had it tattooed on my forearm. She has always told me to know my worth and never let anyone choose my worth. She will be with me forever, even after this horrible disease takes her.
My 24 year old daughter died in 2001 and I sat by her bed and said so many times " if I could only fix you " this song was released years later and now means so much to me. R.I.P my beautiful Berenice ❤🙏🏼
I have an autistic son... This song means so much to me. Tears stream down my face very often, but we are fixing our lives together, just he an I against the world! Thank you Coldplay for letting me cry, smile and feel hope, all in one song💙
Hi there from Canada. I’m a mom to the most amazing 3 year old boy with ASD and I want you to know I too often have tears steaming down my face during this unpredictable journey. Let’s also smile together to this beautiful song ❤
@krohaladiI listened to Renaissance Man. You have a good message and you sound great. I believe in Yahweh and Jesus so it really was quite the surprise . ❤
I love Michael J.Fox's quote, 'With gratitude, optimism is sustainable'. And what an anazing human being Chris Martin is. I am a new fan. Thank you Coldplay, Michael, Glastonbury, thank you BBC, and everyone there. It was a phenomenal evening, even for people just watching on TV. Shows us how generosity, joy and connection can be done.
I cry when I see a legend in this state. Because this is the man I've been looking up to all my childhood. And I still consider him to be one of those people who influenced me.(from Russia with love ❤️)
I chose this song for my 25 yr old son, Benjamin’s funeral. He was found deceased in a ditch with his fiancee from a motorcycle crash. He was a year clean from heroin.
I don't listen to Coldplay, but I'm familiar with this song, but seeing MJF play with them on stage and the palpable atmosphere in the audience, I'm crying my eyes out. This is the most wholesome, beautiful thing I've seen in a while.
It’s the leg kick by MJF at 3:11 for me. Thank you to the BBC for letting this life long American Coldplayer feel like I was with everyone at the farm in Glasto in person for this magical show…
That part and when the camera's really close on a woman singing "Lights will guide you home", both really made my anxiety just melt away for a few minutes.
It's amazing how humble the band is. Chris thinks he needs to tell everyone the lyrics and the rest look like they're about to burst into tears from the crowd signing like its the first time they've heard their song sung back to them.
Meanwhile those of us who choose legitimately to not pay their rip off licence tax in the UK are breaking the law by watching...yet free for the rest of the world with zero repercussions
My husband died six years ago today . We played this at his funeral , I still cry every time I hear this . But I love it so today I watched it again on bbc iPlayer go Chris .
This is so beautiful and I'm bawling. thank you Coldplay for honoring your hero, thank you Michael J Fox for being the amazing human you are, thank you Glastonbury for putting it all together, and thank you to that incredible crowd for showing the world what humanity can be. Music is the Magic!
I saw Coldplay live with my wife in Singapore earlier this year and it was one of the greatest nights we ever had. I lost her in April and seeing this pop up on my RUclips home screen makes me feel like she is watching out for me. Thank you.
My dad has Parkinson's. He fights everyday. My heart breaks everyday. This song has always been special to me because I would love to "fix him". Seeing Michael J Fox up there ....wow. Makes me smile and cry at the same time.
My dad as well man. After watching this performance I watched the doco on Michael j fox. I learned so much about Parkinson’s that I didn’t know. It’s really helped me deal with my dad. If you haven’t you should try and watch it. It’s called Still. Take care
My dad died of parkinson 28 December. Fighting the disease for 10years. I wished I could've made him better and fix. I just hope 1 day they find a cure for this disease. Michael j fox you're a legend,
Not sure why....I mean they aren't a great band. Some good songs to be sure but don't understand how they get to superstar status like U2 or the Stones....I just don't think they belong in that category.

One of my friends passed away recently and as it was a family only funeral we were unable to say our proper goodbyes. Being in the middle of that crowd with my best friends singing that song acted as some final closure and a goodbye. Thank you to Coldplay and everyone in that crowd, it truly was a special moment which I will remember forever
I find Coldplay and Queen very similar. When I listen to Queen, it makes me feel the same. Even though Coldplay is very different... it's good that you exist Coldplay..Greetings from Turkey... I wish a similar concert could happen in Turkey?
My nephew died age 9 and this song was a fixture on the radio as we drove in and out of the hospital to see him. It holds strong memories and emotions within me and my family. This just reminded me the power and strength in music. There is good and kindness in the world. Its simply starts with us
My mother passed from Lewy Body Dementia with Parkinson's Disease. She too was a warrior like Michael J Fox and music was her medicine. Love you Coldplay and MJF!!!!!!
My dad passed with exactly the same horrible dual disease and feel your pain! They were/are all warriors to battle as long as they did/do. This is amazing and so much credit has to go to Chris Martin and Coldplay, a truely amazing human being as well as the legend that is MJF!! Class acts! ❤
Sorry to hear that. Not nice to see lose their dignity and who they were as people but beneath the horrible imprisoned shell enforced on them their true spirit burned strong within and always will 🙂
We used this song for my son in 2010 when we had to take him to St Louis children’s hospital to have an operation to make him walk. Always makes me cry because we did it
As someone living with Parkinson’s, this song has meaning for both sufferers and the families affected by this dreadful disease. Listening and watching this, tears are indeed streaming and will for sometime to come. Hearing that they came together as a band because of Back to the Future and MJF seems that they were destined to write what’s is an anthem for the cause to find a cure. I’ll be coming back here often, brilliant performance by all at Glastonbury but especially Chris and the band. Thank You All ❤
Best wishes and bless you. carry on strong and carry on for tomorrow, for next year and beyond. We are all important, rich, poor, young and old. I wish you the best
Sending love and strength, from one person with Parkinson’s to another. The song has so much meaning, indeed. What a great gift Michael gives us in his optimism, honesty and fight.
The love of my life Sammy, loved, by far, this band and especially this song, more than she loved me, she dedicated her life to healing people with mobility disabilities. With just 45 years old she passed away exactly a week ago... I know, I'm absolutely sure that from heaven she can't stop crying seeing and hearing this magical performance.. ❤
Absolutely beautiful! My husband died almost 6 years ago and this song resonates with me. Having Michael J. Fox playing the guitar and his enthusiasm brought tears to my eyes.
I'm a single, disabled & terminal lab rat stranded in a small town toxic HUD apt & as I've sat homebound for 15 years & have clinically died twice in that time, while I wait to be allowed to stay dead.... I've discovered music again, and concerts like this (& the 'Something Just Like This' performance they did with the kid on stage) is one of my top 3 music vids to play at least a few times a week. Listening to these concerts on a hi-fi audio DAC with studio earbuds is the closest I'll get to experiencing one myself. I regret very much not knowing about this kind of experience when I did get a wish granted; I was 14 at the time & had been completely sheltered in a small town, homeschooled & with no friends. I only have taken solace in RUclips & telling my story thru blogs, that's been a comfort while I exist in the body of an 80 year old since age 12... Now, it's music & videos like this that give me just enough mental reprieve to get thru each day, headphones on & music drowning out the unbearable reality, of my prognosis & the future of the planet...
i see nothing wrong with using phones at concerts. It's a way to keep memory. As one example of it, I was at Sziget festival in 2014 and saw lots of greats bands and musicians, but i don't remember a good part of it (yes, i know that there're some pro.recordings provided by the festival itself, but not all band i saw and not from my prospective), so shooting a couple of seconds don't hurt
This song has some of the most emotionally powerful lyrics in music history. It's definitely one of Coldplay's most legendary songs, along side Adventure of a Lifetime, Yellow, Paradise etc. Hoping I get my opportunity to experience this in person one day 🤞
One of the saddest parts about Parkinson's disease in the case of someone like Michael J Fox, is that Parkinson's disease is often followed by dementia, they almost go hand-in-hand, but he doesn't have dementia, so instead of waking up each day not remembering the struggle of the day before, he suffers everyday and has no option but to watch his body degrade while his mind stays in tact. For over 30 years now, he has lived with this cruel disease and still continues to shine and inspire as many people as he possibly can. He is a blessing to the world. And, if you didnt already know this, this is not the first time that Coldplay has brought Michael J Fox up on stage to perform with them. Coldplay have a big love and appreciation for Michael J Fox and it seems very mutual.
My dad was diagnosed at the age of 50. It’s a brutal disease. About 10 years in, he came down with dementia. It’s an awful version with Parkinson’s….involving hallucinations. We lost him a few years ago at age 68. I always try to just remember who he was before and not at the end.
Fix You by Coldplay means so much to me. I’m always moved to tears every time I hear it. I’ve got mental health struggles, and I’ve had them ever since I was 15, and this song doesn’t solve every problem, but it holds me and reminds me that I have the power to overcome any hurdle, and in that way, it “fixes” me. It means so many things to me as well- I’ve got friends who want to see me well. They’re incredibly inspired by me and have told me on multiple occasions. They see me as smart, driven, and passionate, and they see the things that I’ve been through and see where I’ve come from and what I’ve done, and they’re incredibly inspired. I may not see, sometimes, why people love me, and in those moments, they turn on their “lights” and guide me “home” and ignite my bones with the belief that I’m someone to be loved just for being me. I’ve done the same for my friends, and they’ll do the same for me, and while it’s hard for me to accept support, I need to remember that these lights will guide me home, and ignite my bones, as they try to fix me.
My mom passed from PD in 2006 and she always loved Michael. I was diagnosed last year and Michael J. Fox's organization has done SO much to make my life with PD to be better than those before me. This is a great performance by both!
Even if you don't enjoy Coldplay's recent music, you have to acknowledge that they have created some of the most significant songs in history and are one of the most influential bands in music history.
Even if i saw their concert clips a thousand times, tonight's performance made me realise exactly that, one of the most important band of this generation for sure
Gayle King, Megyn Kelly, Juan Willliams, Brian Williams, Bill O'Reilly, Lester Holt, Whit Johnson, Stephen Smith, David Muir, Cecilia Vega, Alisyn Camerota, Diane Sawyer and Paula Faris
I’m not a fan of Coldplay, but after watching this performance I was moved to tears. Everyone in the audience sang the same song at the same place, without taking pictures with their phones. This is the power of music. And the performance of Michael J Fox was so amazing and powerful.
This is my favourite song. There is no other song which has a meaning more special than this one to me. I was a teenager and then a university student when the song came out and I tried to play this song on the piano and tears always streamed on my face as I felt alone for several reasons... While listening to this song, I prayed God asking to find a person who would love me for who I am and this person is now my husband and this was our wedding song last year. This song tremendously helped me during some dark times. Thank you, Coldplay for this wonderful and special gift to the world.
I've just watched this....again. It's really triggered emotions for numerous reasons in so many. If only this energy could be captured and utilised...the energy of love. It's such a dark period at the moment around the globe. Sights like this remind me what we can do. We can get along. Thank you Coldplay, thank you Michael J Fox.🙏😍💗
Man, you captured the essence of where we are now and sadly, the greatest generation is getting old and the world is hurting. Seeing these two on stage and this song brought a tearful smile to my face. We have to get along... now more than ever.
Michael is an inspiration to millions. Having met him several times and having him in our Delorean's, he really is the most amazing human. GO JOHNNY GO GO GO!!
I bet that was one heck of a memory for MJ - he’s probably never played in front of a crowd that big! What a song! Im probably the only person, but where MJ kicks his leg up (just before the fireworks) had me in tears! More than usual as I always cry during that part of the song anyway - the music is just so powerful!!! An amazing band! An amazing song! An amazing venue. And an amazing Michael J Fox! - best video ever!
Coldplay never disappoints me. The obvious love they have for their audiences, for people everywhere, sometimes brings me to tears. Because in this world we need more people like Coldplay. They show us love. And this world needs more of that.
Coldplay is the truly band of the people. They have and make such a communion with the audience never seen ever in the world. Im from Argentina and i know what i saw. Coldplay is feeding of the crowd but giving back 10 fold much energy and power... and they are incredible open to sing with performers from all over the world, and make such a great music for the soul!
Coldplay should be considered the world's cultural and musical heritage. Visionaries, Environmentalists, Humanists. Worthy of perseverance and perseverance as a team, bringing together families and continents. This group will be immortalized, for centuries.
I love Coldplay my daughter loves Coldplay the music they make is beautiful! We love Michael j fox that was the most amazing performance! We love back to the future
I have to admit, I was absolutely never a fan of Coldplay and even went out of my way to not listen to their music, but I somewhat understood why people liked them as much as they do. BUT, after seeing the Glastonbury clips from this year and seeing Michael J. Fox up there, along with the 100,000+ people ALL singing their songs back to them……I was literally fighting myself to not cry just like the drummer, bass player, and guitar player seemed like they were. I completely 100% understand now. Anytime I want to shed some tears and get some emotions out, Coldplay will be my go to. They’re obviously very talented and write some incredibly meaningful songs. I’m in hook, line, and sinker
Hey friend, if you're a fan of seeing great performances like this that really show the best of humanity and give you some happy tears, I highly encourage you to watch their other performance singing 'Sky Full of Stars'. It's very magical to watch. ruclips.net/video/Fpn1imb9qZg/видео.html
I’m a grown man 22 years of age and this was so beautiful to watch I shed a tear the whole point of life is too do as much as you can before your ticking clock stops. So stop looking back and look forward for once there’s always light at the end of the tunnel might be a long old journey but its there to go get for anybody on this earth believe in yourself because I do 🌍
I can't believe that I'll be watching them live this coming January. It has been a dream for over 15 years. I'm crying watching this video, I wonder what emotions I'll be filled with while watching this live. Fix you has a special place in my heart as it got me through the time when I lost my father due to covid. I see it as a blessing that I'll be able to hear it live.
I met Michael J Fox years ago for work and he is the sweetest, most professional and nicest guy ever. I literally cannot not-cry when listening to this song. truly magnificent powerful in every way. thanks Coldplay
Michael J. Fox, a truly amazing man, a truly amazing philanthropist, an amazing family man and a wonderful Canadian born individual. My husband had Parkinson’s and knowing the changes over time, it is truly amazing to see what Michael has accomplished in his lifetime. This is the first time I have seen any part of a concert at Glastonbury (even with its long time reputation). I am so glad this was shown, thank you.
That last bit, from about 5.45 onwards where he gets the crowd to sing with him/back to them and thinks he needs to tell them what the words are just shows such humility and humbleness! And it’s just such a magic couple of minutes, just when you think you could top the previous 5& half mins! To see the band members just stand there and take it in is so awesome, how amazing that must have felt for them!

YOU get the gold medal for being YOU. YOU are enough, just as you are, because of your past, because of your pain, because of your joy and despite regrets.
Every day you live, take time out to truly celebrate life and then, most importantly, celebrate the unique YOU.
Cheers

This song ALWAYS makes me cry but seeing Michael J. Fox jam out on guitar REALLY brought the tears.♥🎸🦊♥
Was beautiful to see i agree..
It was great but they could have plugged his guitar in. Would have been nice to hear something at least.
But it was plugged in.
i don't think it was plugged in. he stopped a few times and nothing changed in the music.
I bet all of the members of Coldplay will be like "Did that actually really happen? Us performing with Michael J Fox live on stage?".

Just a reminder of what people together with music can create.
It’s just a shame that mindset doesn’t continue once they’re outside the stadium.
❤❤ beautyfull
What is what people together with music can create? Don’t be naive. It’s just a festival where they go to sing, they leave the venue and go back to ignore the real issues and fight against injustices. Wish all that people sing and shout to demand a ceasefire for example.
@@rocha2333bruv seriously. Sorry you’re hurting.
I’m 27. I grew up watching back to the future and listening to Coldplay. I’ve sat and sobbed my heart at this.

I didn't grow with Coldplay but it'd be stupid to ignore this. Some shit is just pure art and there's no other way around. This song could never be what it is if Chris' essence didn't relate.

Almost not a single smartphone. People are just enjoying this beautiful show… Lovely to see
Yeah he asked people to put them away
It is lovely, but I was paused at 4:11 when I read your comment which has a big ol' cellphone flash
i see nothing wrong with using phones at concerts.

It means so many things to me as well-
I’ve got friends who want to see me well.

Oh my goodness I was in tears 😭 Coldplay we love you ❤ Michael J Fox 😢❤ 🎸❤️ bless you we love you 🥰 what a true inspiration you are ❤❤❤❤❤❤
I have to admit, I was absolutely never a fan of Coldplay and even went out of my way to not listen to their music, but I somewhat understood why people liked them as much as they do.
So stop looking back and look forward for once there’s always light at the end of the tunnel might be a long old journey but its there to go get for anybody on this earth believe in yourself because I do 🌍
What a beautiful comment and so needed to be heard… thank you
Love it much❤
I can't believe that I'll be watching them live this coming January. It has been a dream for over 15 years. I'm crying watching this video, I wonder what emotions I'll be filled with while watching this live. Fix you has a special place in my heart as it got me through the time when I lost my father due to covid. I see it as a blessing that I'll be able to hear it live.
Rip your dad, may he rest in peace 🕊️
I owe my childhood to that man! The kids did love it Marty! 🤘🤘
Heard this song so many times before and never thought that this is the one version to bring me to tears.
Me too.
we buried my brother in law in march he was 45 yrs old and we played this song at his funeral very very fitting to a young man who was very well loved by so many we tried many times to help and fix him but he didn't want help God bless Gav xxx
So sorry for your loss ❤
MJF is an amazing man, he loved every minute of that ❤ respect to Coldplay for making him welcome 🙏 My dad has had parkinsons disease for 12 years it's truly awful for everyone in the family but moments like this are so positive and inspiring 😢
This performance gives me goosebumps from head to toe. 🥰
The leg kick @3:10... what spirit. That broke me. Michael J. Fox is an absolute inspiration. What a special moment. Keep living your life to the fullest Michael.
