It's one thing to live to 99. It's another to still be cognitively healthy, cracking jokes, and physically mobile and able to walk without assistance. This interview was so wholesome and sweet. The music video is a lovely tribute by one world class performer to a living legend.

Chris Martin is truly impressive. Not only because he writes songs with so much heart, but also his humble demeanor, which is clearly honest. He leaves the stage to Mr. Van Dyke on entrance and shows so much deference and admiration during the interview. In our day and age I find it amazing that this sentiment exists in a star. Chris Martin is so gentle and soft spoken. How marvelous an opportunity to make a memory with one of his favorite people. Well done.
About 35 years ago I went to see a play in LA. At intermission I went to the designated cubicle to have a smoke, and found myself alone with DVD. We chatted for the entire break, and I can honestly say, (having met and conversed with at least a hundred celebs over the years), he was the most gracious, charming, interesting, and open person I ever met. I think this collaboration is going to be wonderful. Chris has shown himself to be a kind human over and over, so I absolutely expect the video will be everything we hope for on Dick's 99th.
I often used to see him out and about in his white Jeep Cherokee in Malibu about 25 years ago ---- where has the time gone?

Mary Poppins premiered on my 1st birthday and the first film I ever saw in the cinema was Chitty, Chitty Bang, Bang at aged three, I even remember going to seeit. So Mr Van Dyke has a huge place in my heart. A true American treasure and genuine legend.

He’s correct about keeping on the move. My folks died at 96 and 98. They walked every day until they couldn’t. It’s something I do now myself. They were an inspiration for my whole family. And you too are an inspiration Mr. Van Dyke. I’ve loved you since I was a kid.
