I ran into him once at a golf tournament that was being held at a resort that my husband was having a work retreat at. I did not talk to him, but was behind him at the co concierge and rode in the elevator with him and my son. He was so kind and super friendly to the people at the desk and he walked with such a spring in his step and hummed a little tune the whole time we rode in the elevator! Such a gentleman too! Held the elevator door and motioned my son and I to exit first. My son was young at the time and I explained he was the actor from Mary Poppins and ever since, he never forgets him. Now 24, he sent the link to this lovely tribute! We love you for a lifetime Mr. Van Dyke!!❤❤❤

I'm nearly 60 now and I've lived my entire life being entertained by this man. I'm so glad to see him get so many tributes for all the joy he's brought to all of us.
This is simply beautiful. I'm reminded of my grandmother, who lived 107 years. She was always smiling and encouraging others. I learned later that she endured much heartache and pain. She outlived her spouse, many of her children, and other relatives and friends. There was pain in her physical body. I've come to realize that joy is not the absence of sorrow, but learning to laugh in the rain. Martin and VanDyke have created a masterpiece.

I'm only 28 years young, but this song makes me think about my parents AND grandparents so much, My grandpa will most likely pass within a few months, but i visit him a lot and this song just makes my love for him come to life! If you still have your parents or even grandparents, cherish them, because they have experienced the world and all the wonders they have seen.
You should definitely try and record some conversations with your Grandpa about his early life, what he thinks of the modern world etc. I didn't do this with my Grandmama, who lived to 101, and I've regretted it since. 😔🙏🏻

Dont wait until you're older. It didnt work out for me. I got married and 37 and just a few years later the marriage crumbled apart. Im not an old man yet but i am past the point where I can have a family now. Hope you get it. 😊

Chris Martin is a true poet and songwriter, I do not understand all the hate for Coldplay. Their concerts are just phenomenal. As for DVD he is a living testament to the fact that a positive, happy outlook on life coupled with physical activity and movement can see you well into your old age.

I'm only 28 years young, but this song makes me think about my parents AND grandparents so much, My grandpa will most likely pass within a few months, but i visit him a lot and this song just makes my love for him come to life! If you still have your parents or even grandparents, cherish them, because they have experienced the world and all the wonders they have seen.
You should definitely try and record some conversations with your Grandpa about his early life, what he thinks of the modern world etc. I didn't do this with my Grandmama, who lived to 101, and I've regretted it since. 😔🙏🏻
@@ashotofmercury unfortunately i can't really have a conversation with him anymore. He's still alive, but he doesn't really talk anymore, unless i talk about his past. I'll try to record some of our conversations next time. Although i can't really speak with him about current stuff, he has done plenty of stuff in the past that we can talk about. I'm sure my family will appreciate it at his wake when i let them hear our conversations. Thanks for understanding!!
