I watched three of your videos on layering a quilt, machine quilting and binding a quilt. Very helpful. Thanks so much for sharing your talent and expertise.
I agree with other commenters this is by far the most easiest explanation of binding a quilt! Thanks so much! I will refer to this video again and again until I master this!
Thank you Wendi! I was looking on how to sew in a zipper and found this one on binding. I've made about 25 quilts...I've been doing it the hard way for years! Your way is easier and comes out so much neater! You are a natural teacher and whoever filmed for you did a GREAT JOB! Thank you!
You are the BEST teacher. Thank you so much. It is 01.44 in the morning and I am still fascinated. I should actually go to bed but you keep me glued to the screen!
Thank you so much for this video. I'm new to quilting and never really understood how to do the hand stitching on the back of the binding. My first quilt I did it all on the machine like putting on bias tape. Now I an do it the "right" way. Thanks again.
Thanks so much for your quilting videos. Clear directions and you make it really easy to understand. Especially appreciated the repetition on the corners for the binding. By the last time I had it down so I didn't have to replay the video.
Great camera work and really clear descriptions. Thank you! I made a quilt for my daughter's first birthday. It was my one and only quilt. She is now 11 and I still have not done the binding! The binding is ready and ironed and with your tutorial I am determined to finish.
I love you, you are my idol. you cannot imagine how many videos I've looked at until, I came to yours. You are a wonderful teacher and you show every detail. Thank you so much
I JUST commented on her last tutorial...how extremely excellent hers are compared to the thousands I've watched in the past!...I love this woman, too! lol
I have sewn 6-8 quilts, by machine and hand. Yours has THE best explanation on the ending of those little tails of the binding, thank you very well done!
Thank you so much for your videos! I made several quilts, but every time the finishing was a real struggle! More so, your site is great, you have lovely ideas for kids, brilliant!!!
binge watching most of these quilting vids and loving them, been really wanting to do my first quilt project and this is giving me good tips and instructions!
Thanks Wendi for these great videos, especially this one. Have just bound my first quilt easily with a quarter inch binding and have all squared mitered corners thanks to your instructions. Good teacher! Thanks.
Thank you for this! My first quilting project was one block that I made into a potholder...but I was able to use this to bind the edges very nicely. Very easy to follow and I like the easy way to end the binding. Thanks!
Hi Wendy, Great video on binding and finishing off a quilt. Super easy information, and I'm so motivated to get working on grand baby projects. :) Thanks for uploading x
Thank you so much, Wendi! Although I do keep rewatching this every time I do a binding.its the best I’ve seen. Glad to be a fan of both you and Alan! (I see him at NCLMSA, LOL)
Me too, I always have to look at videos each time I make a quilt especially the binding part. But I don’t so by hand it would kill my poor little hands. Since this is my first time watching your videos my question is, can I still sew the backside with my sewing machine?
You have shown a great art of quilting. I would love to see how you cut the binding and join the strips together at the angle. I have a crib quilt ahead of me for the community quilting guild. I have never quilted my own and I am stumped where to start and the layout. You have helped me with this significantly! Thanks for sharing! Really enjoy you work.
@TheGurliegeek Thanks so much! I'll admit - I bought a cheapo serger a couple of years ago and it's caused me nothing but aggravation ever since. It sits on my sewing table irritating me every time I see it and making me more determined than ever to do as much as possible with a regular machine. :-)
@diwarli It's a Pfaff, but any machine should still sew evenly no matter what speed. If it's not, give it a good cleaning. If it's still not, take it in for a professional cleaning and tune up and tell them what it's doing.
I would have loved to have had a look at the whole thing finished. This has been very helpful, informative, and interesting. thank you for sharing. bye
You are amazing after watching so many videos I came across yours its outstanding!!!!! I now understand what I'm doing.Wish you had a video on making continues bias binding. You are an Angel. Hope to get a response from you
There is - and if you search you should be able to find several tutorials. I've tried a few different ways, but I've never really been happy with the results of any of them. They always look kind of sloppy compared to the method I use.
So happy to know how to use my regular sewing machine for the quilting. Thank you for making the binding easy to follow. Is it possible to add some stitch in the ditch quilting to one that I’ve done some hand quilting on?
Brilliant!!! I live in a small town and will never be able to buy your wide ruler, can you tell me where I can get one on line with the best price. Thank you.
Hi Wendi, When you lined up your first edge, how did you know that edge was straight? In other words, it looked like you just placed the ruler along the edge (like it was already straight.)
Usually I do Quilt As You Go and I trim the blocks right before I join them, so I know they're straight. If it's a pieced quilt without QAYG I might need to trim it and square it up first - depending on the quilt.

Im completely new to quilting, is there a name fore this strip pattern?
Where do you buy the big ruler?
You can get it (or something much like it) at any big box fabric store like Joann's.
thanks a lot
Why do you all make such; small quilts. We need to learn how to do large ones
I have videos that show how to work with large quilts too - but for a lot of my demos I use small ones so you can see the whole quilt as I work.
Thanks so much! I'm glad it was helpful. :-)
Thanks so much! :-)
