I remember Don Mattrick (the guy in charge of consoles at Microsoft) being all like "Eh, if costumers want a console that isn't always online, where they can play used games, and that doesn't have Kinect always on, they can buy a XBox 360!", right while people were going crazy over the terrible One announcement.
Sony kicked Microsoft in the balls with their conference, but that was the nail on the coffin of the One and Microsoft's reputation with gamers.
Xbox never recovered from this lol

This is the result of Sony learning from their mistakes they made with the PS3, and also what happens when their competitor gets arrogant with their brand.
and then sony go and charge for multiplayer, like micro$oft, keeping multiplayer behind a paywall called ps plus, where none of that money goes to the multiplayer features, or game servers, but into sonys pocket
@@infinite8382 come on, we get great free games with ps+ (just last summer, we got mafia 3,cod bo3, destiny 2 ...), you also get big reduction in game prices sometimes (they offer now 60% off in many triple A titles) and you get access to multiplayer, so if you pay for a 1 year ps+ subscription, it's really a great deal.
Hey, thanks for your reply, but its not a good deal. You are forced to pay for PS PLUS in order to use multiplayer which was once free. Its not a good deal. If PS PLUS were still optional, it might be a good deal, but when you have no choice but to get ps plus in order to use multiplayer its not a good deal, its extortion. And sony know they can get away with forcing people to pay for multiplayer cause they have a monopoly on a very popular product. If I just want multiplayer, which use to be free, but in order to use multiplayer I am forced to purchase something I dont want, PS PLUS, is that a good deal? Sure you can make the best of it and say, oh but look at the great stuff we get, and in part i agree, but at the end of the day sony has hidden multiplayer behind a paywall called PS PLUS and since I am paying for it now, i have a right to complain, since to me and many others, compulsory PS PLUS subscription is clearly a cash grab on sonys part. Oh and, the games arent free, you pay for them, everyone seems to miss this, hehe, and they arent great, well most arent. I dont use the discounts, which is more money in sonys pockets. Sorry for the length, but I hope you can see where I am coming from. A lot of people arent happy with PS PLUS PAYWALL.
@@infinite8382 I stand corrected, but aside from the multiplayer stuff, you might say that sony's discounts are more money in sony's pockets, but with ps+, you can get battlefield1 for 4 bucks right now (80% off) (just an example of many) which you won't find anywhere else. I mostly prefer single player games, so i don't care about multiplayer, it's just for my little brother, so getting mafia 3 which i enjoyed a lot (even if you can't access it after your license ends, i would have finished it by then anyway), was a cherry on the top of everything you get, finally it depends on the what matters to you the most. This ps+ paywall needs to be revised though.
I agree that PS PLUS can offer a lot of discounts on games and can be great for those who play single player games, but I really think it should be optional. I am glad you get some value out of it, and I have to, and I dont mean to go on about it, hehe, its just I see how many people are unhappy how sony began charging for multiplayer, and its not to cover costs of multiplayer, cause none of the PS PLUS fee as far as I can tell actually goes to the servers of the games you play online, thats already covered in the cost of the game. If that is the case, then sony are holding to ransom multiplayer, to make easy cash, and offering PS PLUS in return, when all many people want is multiplayer. I bought BF1 long ago and played it online, but now I cant if I dont have PS PLUS even though I have already paid for the game! On the PS3 you could play online whenever you wanted! Cheers

How so?! Lmfao Sony slayed everyone at E3 this year and the PS4 is still outselling the Xbox One basically 2:1. You must be delusional. lol If anything, Xbox is more dead now after E3 2016 than E3 2013 because of all this Windows 10 stuff. There's literally no reason to buy an Xbox One anymore. They're digging their own grave out of the console gaming market.

Damn, didn't even realize the state of console gaming was this bad. When the highlight of E3 is the crowd being told, "Hey, when you buy a game, you actually get to do what you want with it", you know you're being shafted.
It's because Xbox One totally shit the bed. A now ex employee basically told everyone this isn't the dark ages and fuck off if they don't have internet. He was a snide prick, it pissed me off even though I was gaming on a PS3, but to make comments like that about the system...sheesh. Not only did it make the Xbox brand look bad, it made the company Microsoft look awful.
You don't own any games on Steam.
If this is from a PC/Steam game it is a bit silly because the games are locked to your account (like console gaming).
But you can't do what you want with your Steam/Epic/Origin/Uplay games

@@silentmaniac3626 that was not the main reason, microsoft forgot about players and tried to sell xbox to people, who actually far from gaming industry + they tried to make kinect more popular so xbox was more expensive than ps4 and as you know - weaker, that's why everybody hated it, now ps5 losing only in gpu part so i don't see much reason to buy xbox if you have ps4 or pc

Oh man that day was so epic, the day when Sony just killed Microsoft. Legendary, the most epic victory of all time. Already twices more console sold, one exclusive title that sold more than every exclusives combined on the other side. PS4 for the win.
I mean, I get what you're saying, but it's not particularly surprised a console that has more units on the market, has an exclusive that sells more.

Funny. This happened three years ago, but I can never recall them ever saying "please". In fact, they were jerks about having to go 180° that they also took out the good things about Xbox One when they didn't even have to.

You answered your own question practically. Disk based games are a physical copy, which when the ownership of this copy is given out, you cannot use it anymore. Digital copies have always been linked to one account, which are shareable only throughout the system the account it's on, unless linking to another system, which has older policies that are known back on the PS3.
Regardless of what Microsoft changed their original intention was everything Sony was taking jabs at here. If people didn't speak up it would of went down like that.
Sony for all their flaws didn't even entertain those idiotic check-in/sharing ideas and it's why I'll only buy their (and Nintendo's) systems now and in the future.

Funny how Xbox Fans trying to act like they lost there place in the console gaming. They never had a place to begin with. The last 3-4 Years from the last gen Sony won PS3 sales are higher then Xbox 360 and software sales like GTA V. Even the PSP had more sales then Xbox 360. Lets not talk about PS2 with 150 million and PS1 with 100 million. What did Microsoft do? 20 Million on the first Xbox lmao? And the real winner last gen was Nintendo with the Wii.

Xbox already started to lose that ever since devs got used to the Cell and then Uncharted 2 came out. The Xbox tactic of releasing nearly all great exclusives within the first 2 years started to work less. Sony spreads them out for when they're fully finished - unfortunately this often means that PlayStation's launch lineups are relatively lacklustre. I hope that they learn to focus on launch lineups more. Another Knack would be 'meh'.

This was a very important moment of this Videogame generation, but let's not forget that, even though Microsoft screwed up with the One, Sony is a major player in the most evil and intrusive DRM practices. Things like SecuROM, which "powered" DRM for EA games, were developed by Sony. They were only capitalizing on people not buying Microsoft's BS. Microsoft would do the same if Sony started and people felt strange about it.

Microsoft in First Party High Quality Studios is not Even close to Sony and Playstation popularity . Yes OFC Microsoft bought Bethesda and Activision but even with them is not Even close to Sony or Tencent . Nevertheless they are doing it better than 2013 but still I don't like Microsoft at all .

Right now october 23 2016 With almost 20 PS4 games,I can attest it´s still true.. You do not even need internet to play the games.... all GAME DISCS contains the upgrades necessary to play the games.
