You need to give RetroFlow a try..it with RetroArch adds a lot to the Vita. I also suggest folks really give the 3G model a second look...as one can remove the 3G card and replace it with a PSVSD...so you can basically double your storage. I got 2TB of storage on mine thanks to both the SD2vita & PSVSD both having a 1TB microSD in them.
@@GamersChoiceRUclips hmm yes and no...granted I think my official memory card is 64gb...so compared to that...yes...completely nuts. However with this setup I got the full NA Vita & PSP collections & the same goes for NES SNES, Gameboy(Color\Advanced), GameGear, Genesis, TurboGrafix, all playable Dreamcast...some N64 games, 400+ PS1 eBoot, 350 Mame games...plus some other tid bits. Really the only portable that can get bigger than the Vita is the SteamDeck at 3TB.
@@SniperBraeGaming Good deal, I also suggest making the PSVSD the primary drive (UX0)...and stuff as big of a SD in it you can. The reason for this is Vita games MUST be installed on the UX0...and swapping out the MicroSD in the PSVSD is a pain in the ass...so you want to set it and forget it. Where the SD2Vita you may want to swap out for whatever reason...an actual Vita Cart...or maybe you have a couple of SD2Vita's with different retro collections on them. So the SD2Vita should be mounted as UMA0. If you end up using RetroFlow for a frontend for you games...then it's easy to have the PSP games then on the SD2Vita...I think Adrenaline allows for this but it's something to keep in mind. NA Vita set is around 900GB that will nearly max out a formatted 1TB SD which actually comes in around 960GB. NA PSP set is like 550GB...so as you can see things fill up quickly.

There are also dedicated emulator consoles that can emulate GameCube, Wii, n64, Dreamcast (better than the vita) games. At the end of the day, there is not much that is unique about the vita and psp games themselves. It’s not like the DS and 3DS, which have the two screens. This makes the EXPERIENCE difficult to emulate accurately. Vita games can be played on PC without any loss of the essential experience. Besides the portability I guess; unless you have the steamdeck.
Hey bro!! I love your vids and what you're doing with and for the community. If you do, what screwdriver(s)do you use for your ps Vita and psp?? I'm having a hard time finding the right one that'll work for them Also i love that you mentioned how you can load psp games from the regular screen instead of loading up adrenaline. Its cool that it can do that but i feel like its just using too much battery to run one os into another just to play games that also use up battery.
I really appreciate it! And I'm not too familiar on what specific screwdriver you need to open psp/vitas, but I'm sure you can find an answer on reddit. Reddit has all the answers 😏
If you are running your PSP games through Adrenaline...via bubble icons...it's going to be roughly the same memory & power requirements...the only way past this is to have bought the game via PSN & have it regged to your Vita...then there is no Adrenaline requirement...but that time has came and pasted. I personally use RetroFlow to launch all my games Vita\PSP\PS1\... and have purged my Live Area of all non Application Icon's...so I got three screens of apps and that's it...and I probably could bring it down to just two if I removed the icons from some of the emulators. As for screw drivers...buy one of those decent sized kits from iFixIt....you got one small phillips for most screws & a stupidly small hex for removing 3g cards...if you own one of those models.

No, Jr.. It didn't sell well because of lack of support, no 1st party games. It was a gem in Japan because it was mainly a JRPG console and nothing else. Plus, everything else was too expensive, like the memory card. They didn't take regular micro SD cards but rather their own redesign with a hefty price tag. It was more greed and lack of support that dug the grave for the best hand held ever created. Damn Shame, too. No Nintendo or Sega or whatever other hand held ever released came close to how good the Vita was
It's just hard to justify getting a PSVita unless you're really into PS1/PSP/Vita games. From what I understand, the Vita actually struggles with a lot of emulation that other consoles are able to handle very easily. The GBA, for example, actually just sucks if you're playing anything other than a turn based game like Pokemon. Try playing Sonic Advance or Mega Man Zero, and tell me that's fun. Meanwhile, you can find an emulation device for $50 or less that can play any GBA game that you want these days. It absolutely smashes early Playstation games though, which isn't always feasible with other consoles. So that's definitely a big win there. Just a bit pricey of a console to be able to justify buying if you want to play things other than early Sony titles. Not to mention the process of soft-modding isn't exactly easy for the average user and puts them at risk of bricking their console that they just likely paid a pretty penny for.
I agree that if you want to play 90s games and before, there are cheaper options. But the vita plays all PS1, PSP, and Vita games perfectly. Not really any other options currently for playing Vita games, especially on the go. Also from my experience, I have had no issues playing any GBA, SNES, N64, etc. But I will continue to mess with it. And the modding is as simple as its ever been. You can mod your Vita from the Vita itself, no PC needed.
hmm I'll agree with you in some part...there is no reason to get a Vita unless you want to play PSP & Vita games. However that is a big selling point...while PSP emulation is getting decent...Vita emulation is still very rough right now. Also keep in mind the Vita's CPU is downclocked by default to 333mhz...it can scale fine up to 1.2ghz but given the Vita wasn't designed to dump that much heat...it shouldn't be ran at that speed for very long. Which means if I upped the clock I could run all non-WinCE based Dreamcast games on the Vita. Just fired up Sonic Advance GBA and it played fine...I guess who you talked to had a bad experince. Soft modding the Vita is a non issue these days...unless you have a funky setup like I do with my 3G model...and even that isn't so bad.
Most of these are things you can do on any Android phone with a gamesir X2 any other gamepad, but yeah it's cool to see old Vita still have some interesting thins to mess around
I have a modded ps vita and it's a very hit-or-miss. The emulators don't run that well, the programmed controls are messed up. The themes are very difficult to reverse. I wouldn't recommend it.
Do you have to plug your memory card into your pc to add games or is there a way to download them directly to the vita edit: some games yes, but most games are available on pkgj

i envy people can enjoy old games, new games change my standards
You have to switch it up sometimes. I usually play a few older games when I’m in the mood, then play newer games.
Newer games are (often) brainrot because of political standards taking artistic freedom in development.
Old games are simply better as core-definition "games".
Dug my vita out of the closet recently and modded it. I been playing it more than my switch now, it's just so cool when modded. ❤
I currently have a mod PSP 3000 with PSP, PS1, SNES, NES, N64, and Sega Emulators. Next, I gonna get PS Vita 2000 and mod it for PS2 Emulator and Vita games. Thanks for the info! I have been always wanting a PS Vita when it first came out for years! Can't wait to get one! I'm a go to my local retro game store to find one!
Vita cant emulate PS2
Ah clickbait thumbnails are back on youtube
Kinda, you can use remote play on the ps5 and play the spider man game, but is pretty much a clickbait
I wouldn’t worry
@@VkSenninh4kinda not really. The Ps5 doesn’t support Vita remote play, there’s a home brew app for it but it’s really buggy and laggy
@@Trashedaccount123 Yes, It should have an oficial way to do, the ps portal seems kinda lame IMO
I have two vitas, one oled and one black slim, which I modded. I play on that thing for years and have sooo much stuff on it, it has the best screen ratio, weight and overall design for a handheld device!
Love to hear it!
Its crazy the Vita can emulate a dreamcast kind of well.. That's. Crazy
It really is.
Neeeeed moar gigas
I modded my vita but haven't touched it as late, this made me pull it back out.
Finally a video from someone who's a scholar in the subject
loved the ending soundtrack, great video, only suggestion is your voice kinda goes flat, maybe pull the mic away a bit or mid it diff
love the video tho and miss my old vita, im bouta get another
It is an amazing console and despite of what some say, there are a lot of good games for it, even without hacking it. The memory card is an issue, though. If you wanted to play PSP, this is the way!
This is one of.the kost motivating video to buy ps vita, I have decided.thanks
man you really changed my mind thanks a lot👍
Still play mine all the time. Way ahead of its time.
wow this is like the 50th video of why the vita is still good in 2023.. i see em popping up every year but this year its just insane lol
because definitely vita has gotten Better Over the years . Especially if u mod it I can't stress this enough . hands Down Top 3 Portables In 2023
So should I buy one again or get my one fixed bc I still have mine but it’s dusted up
@@Lagin693 if it still works it's easier to just clean it up, even broken things like sticks or battery is easily replaced on the vita, it's hard these days to buy a brand new one so you'll receive a 2nd hand one anyway
Hey great video. Small mic tip: turn the gain down a tad bit or get a pop filter. Top quality video otherwise. You got a new sub from me :)
U deserve way more subs than u have. U got some nice content and your good at this
Have you made a video on how to connect the Vita to a large screen?
Bro just unlocked a memory.. I totally forgot about Tomba!! Now I need to do this to my vita!! 😂
Love to hear it!
This video is actually such gold, wow! This might be a STUPID QUESTION but guys how do I mod my PS Vita? I have actually been so disappointed SONY with letting PS Vita down like that, I am glad I bumped into this video.
What a legend man, thank you for this great video!
i got bout 130 psp games and 90 ps1 games on the vita. now installing about 100 ps vita games lol still got about 100gb. going to see what else i can get on it. just modded my psp and new 3dsxl. thinking about modding my switch and probably steamdeck when i get the time
i just fixed my vita. cant wait to grind all games again
Do ittttt. You won’t regret it!
I needed this video after dropping $125 seems incredibly well worth it!
Can you recommend videos that show you how to setup all those things on my vita
You need to give RetroFlow a try..it with RetroArch adds a lot to the Vita. I also suggest folks really give the 3G model a second look...as one can remove the 3G card and replace it with a PSVSD...so you can basically double your storage. I got 2TB of storage on mine thanks to both the SD2vita & PSVSD both having a 1TB microSD in them.
2TB of storage is crazy to think about.
I just ordered the 3g model bro thanks for the tip
thats crazy lol
I got one of these for Christmas in 2013 or 2014 and it still works. I like how nobody cared about them until like a year ago
I've got my original from 2004 and it still works!!
Buying one soon!
*@GamersChoice* 🎮
Sony really does have the *BEST* handheld for video games. I have so much great and fond memories with my original Sony PSP. Hopefully Sony will get *BACK* into the handheld market. 🤞🏼
Love my OLED vita. GBA games look beyond perfect
what else u play?
@@Gloryboyquan on the adrenaline, crisis core. Tenkaichi tag team modded. The GTA games. Death Jr. Wolverine, some hothwheels games and for native vita games. I have uncharted that one with the girl who controls gravity. Freedom wars. Dead or alive. Metal gear 3. Ahh and a few others that I forget but yeah it's really cool. I and the vita for years but it wasn't until a few months ago that I chose to modd it
@Truekingr6 Niceeee....What The Tag team Dbz Mod Like ??What's The difference..?
@@Gloryboyquan honestly there are a ton of hacks for tag team, but the one I have has dB super and gt content, but I recently found the best version of the mod for budokai tenkaichi 3 on PC, it's called budokai tenkaichi 4 beta, it adds TONS of brand new characters including orange piccolo and beast Gohan PLUS, it has all of Super as payable story episode's, ripped straight from the anime, legit feels like what tenkaichi 4 should have felt
@Truekingr6 aite cool I Might check some of em out...I Play Hacks Too But Rn I got Pokémon Mario And A Metroid Hack To Play
This guy sounds like an adult morty from Rick and morty, the stammering 😅 at @ 1:30 mins into the video …. Any Rick and morty fans here …?😂❤
If you're only into retro games, then maybe. But I'd much rather get a handheld PC instead.
Guessing your talking about something like a steamdeck? Keep in mind that is a minimum of 3x the price.
Just tell me one thing...
Is WALL-(E) PS3/Wii on the homebrew for the Vita?
They should make a bigger screen version of this amazing handheld console !
@hkhk5241 Exactly Amen to that
Sony no longer have money like they did in 2000's, china beat them in term of smartphone profits
for me it perfect size portable i wish it was more powerful
it's perfect size.
@@DELICIOUS-that’s what he said
Hey bro!! I love your vids and what you're doing with and for the community. If you do, what screwdriver(s)do you use for your ps Vita and psp?? I'm having a hard time finding the right one that'll work for them
Also i love that you mentioned how you can load psp games from the regular screen instead of loading up adrenaline.
As for screw drivers...buy one of those decent sized kits from iFixIt....you got one small phillips for most screws & a stupidly small hex for removing 3g cards...if you own one of those models.
you can use any #00 screwdriver 🪛
@@Gloryboyquan for real?? I just wanna be sure so I don't get the wrong thing
@LeonX3 yes I replaced my screen cause I dropped out my pocket earlier this year
i'm glad that i had my vita since middle school day's because now a days they're hard to get or due to their price but once u get one ? you'll get your money's worth.
The vita is still really nice.. the only thing I hate is the bubble system... the psp did it so much better
Really, I personally like it.
bro you dont need jet set on flycast there was an official native vita remaster
Thanks for this! I ended up picking up a mint condition PS Vita slim (white glacier) and the original OLED Vita (for collection sake). No regrets so far!
omg that’s what i want lmao
Funny enough, I use the OLED more often than I do the slim. I like the slim design better but the screen is not as great.
Great breakdown.. I'll pull mine out of storage and get back to it
About the free vita games that you can download, do they still still have trophy support?
Yes, the vita games do have trophy support!
Wow God bless the modders I'm definitely getting one now
Watching this after buying one in 2024
And you realised it was shit 😂😂😂 even xbox 360 and ps3 are better
@@ronyraveNeither of those are portable 🤣 my guy expecting a portable console that is unsupported by the developer to outperform consoles 🤣.
Vita is awesome, it basically allows you to play the back catalog of PlayStation… like stop talking if you are expecting a console to perform worse than a portable platform 🤡🤣
@@PeoplePleaser578 psvita is shit in my country psvita is the same price as ps3 and xbox 360 but I'd rather buy myself a ps3 than psvita. Psvita is shit it's like it is backwards compatible coz it plays old games. Buy the actual console than this hand held toy 😐😐
@@ronyrave Bro you buy handheld consoles because they are portable… or are you going to walk around with your PS3 in your pocket? 🤣 I bought a PSvita for older games and for the portability of them… I have a PC, I can play PC indoors but if I am in bed and want to play games using less energy - I have a vita. Long train journeys - Vita. Travelling to and from work - Vita. When I have a bit of time whilst my kids are sleeping - Vita. Travelling abroad - Vita. That’s what I got it for and for that it’s perfect - for people who either dont have time for a console or want something they can carry around… it’s perfect.
A portable device will not compare to a console for very obvious reasons and the expectations shouldn’t be that… it’s like saying you expect the same performance out of a steam deck as you would a full gaming PC. It’s good, but it’s not better than a PC… not even close.
@@PeoplePleaser578 Bro I have ps5 I can't buy psvita coz I have high end device which can play psvita games by using vita3k so I can't buy psvita it's shit and wasting money I'd rather buy myself something else or donate money to charity than wasting money on a handheld toy
You could have used that money to buy ps3 instead of psvita coz ps3 can play ps2 games and ps3 has more better games than that psvita toy
Great video. I recently just bought a vita and am loving it
I’m thinking about selling my series x or ps5 and get a vita!
vita underrated !
Bruh. Do not do that…. You will regret that trade. The vita is not better than either of those.
I just love how pocketable it is. Very slick
No Nintendo or Sega or whatever other hand held ever released came close to how good the Vita was
This was my dream since I was a kid! I'm going for this as soon as I can afford one. It will make my child self happy
You can mod your Vita from the Vita itself, no PC needed.
gba runs fine on my vita 😕
hmm I'll agree with you in some part...there is no reason to get a Vita unless you want to play PSP & Vita games.
@@guypeters9309Hey hi, I have a question. What does "soft modding" mean?
100$ handheld like retroid pocket 2s can do psp ps1 but not ps vita it almost the same price so it kinda worth it @@guypeters9309
I love that Theme you have for the PS Vita

Most of these are things you can do on any Android phone with a gamesir X2 any other gamepad, but yeah it's cool to see old Vita still have some interesting thins to mess around
PKGj is a game changer. I have the most powerful handheld console in the world.
if you are a poor kids (broke) yes you need a PSVita jailbreak modded crack etc.😂
Easy bruh everyone needs a life hack😅
What's the name of that game at 3:22? seeing this unlocked a childhood memory I didn't know I had!
Holy crap this dude here look like logic brah
Is there a video explaining how to set up the ports and emulators?
I have a modded ps vita and it's a very hit-or-miss. The emulators don't run that well, the programmed controls are messed up. The themes are very difficult to reverse. I wouldn't recommend it.
Got a pristine PCH 1000 from China! It's a pleasure playing my old nes and snes classic on this console.
Getting mines today
Sounds great! What model should I get? PS Vita PCH 2000?
When it came out I sold it in less then a year of having it. took a big loss.
..god i need this, how do i do it? Will it affect the original games like the physical copy?
Great video very informative really do appreciate it keep up the good work
Dumb question. Do you have to sign out a PSNetwork after your jailbreak? can you still use your gamer tag?
The size is just awesome 👌
