Great video.. Now we know why these jobs cost so much. I was curious on what it would take to do this job and now I know. Doable but not very easy... Thanks again.
Can you do this with the injector out of the car? Use a 12v battery to connect to the injector to open it, like the old school injectors?
I'm trying to think about this question. I'm sure you could. but I'm not sure how well it would work being direct injection. i believe with direct injection it requires over 2000 PSI and that's why the secondary high pressure fuel pump is required. In the past, I've put the Injectors in an ultrasonic cleaner and opened them and it seemed to work. So I believe it could work
Thanks for this video
This is really appreciated man ! Did you just go off the all data diagrams?
Yea I did.
Thank you, that was very thorough.
How is it holding up so far. I’m gonna try do this for my 07. Just started to leak from the block.
Well it held up for 3 years but now the car is long gone. My sister owned it but sold it dirt cheap
Thanks man
I got the cat changed last year for catalytic converter P0420 error on my 2016 CRV. 6 months down the line I got the P0139 error. I changed the downstream sensor this time. 2000 miles more I again got the same P0139 error. I called Denso and they sent me a new sensor because of warranty. I called the mechanic to reinstall the downstream sensor and he says P0139 error may be because of upstream sensor also and recommending to replace upstream sensor. I am so confused this is driving me nuts!!!!!!
Gotta check for any bad connection or bad wires. Exhaust leaks will cause it also. But I don’t think an upstream sensor would cause that. It would have given you a different code.
@@laketownautorepair336 I got this diagnosed at the dealer and he replaced the downstream sensor. I did ask him if there were any exhaust leaks and he said that wasn’t the case. I think he said 1 year 12000 miles warranty on parts and labor to be honored at any dealer.
The only true way to tell would be checking voltage. The manual says if your voltage stays between 0.3-0.8V for 2 minutes at 3000 RPM to change out the sensor. I would say get a good brand but denso is good……. My go to brands are Bosch, denso and NTK for 02 sensors. But yea like I said only true way is checking data
@@laketownautorepair336 Makes sense. Thank you!
I just bought a 2006 Civic with 125k miles on it. The seller told me the engine block leaks. I’m wonder how your fix has been holding up now that it’s been 6 years? My hope is for this to be my kids high school car, so it’s only going to be used around town close to home.
Thanks for making these videos. Quick question; did you sand the block surface, or just clean it up really good?
It was resurfaced at a machine shop
Also need to drain it from the block from removing the bolt next to the egr
For ur first time instructing, you have done a great job. Thanks
Could i possibly use a wrench of some sory
I got one bro help me find parts
I was surprised but oreilly had the vehicles parts.
Hi, if I just want to replace the lower coolant line. the one that you’re taking out at five minutes and 39 second will there be a lot of coolant if so, how much coolant do you think I would need to refill it?
Just finishing up doing this job I’d like to say thank you for all the help and detail that went into this series it really really helped a lot 👍
Thanks for the video.
Doesnt the timing chain move counter clockwise when taking off the crankshaft pully socket?
What size is the crank shaft pully socket? Im missing it and need to buy one.
What size are the head bolts ? I know there 12 point but what size ?
get rid of the Pimp music. Can't watch it anymore with it.
Going to attempt this next week! Very thorough video, thank you!
I don't think you're supposed to be oiling up those bolts. That's going to make your torque wrench inaccurate (tho it looks like you may have used degrees rather than a torque wrench so the above comment probably doesn't apply, other than to say I don't think it's necessary)
Gracias Buddy. Good job. Great video.
How come nobody safety checks after fitting timing chain on these engines, like the full rotations to make sure stays in time
I never met anyone that didn’t. Just wasn’t filmed.
@@laketownautorepair336what does he mean by safety check?
It means to rotate the engine 2-3 times or more to make sure the timing marks still like up when you get back to top dead center
Is there a tab that needs pushed down for the connector in your hand at 2:40 or does it just slid off? I cant get mine off thinking about using a flat head to pry it off if there's no tab that needs pushed or pulled to release it...
I usually push in as I press down and then pull out
Thanks man, you have convinced me to take my 2011 civic to a garage. It looks VERY labor intensive.
Thank You!
Very straightforward and well put together - video! I am amazed you did all that work with the firewall shroud on 😅
I’ve learned a lot since. I was straight out of college and not very experienced.
Good job 👍
Thank you! I’m planning on doing the rears on my 2011 next week.
good job
Thanks for doing this. My head gasket is starting to fail, and I wanted to see if I could do this myself. Definitely don’t have the time or skill for it, so ima just pay a professional 😅
how much did it cost for parts and labor?
2 yrs now, my civic still runs great. This engine was worked on by idiots, I found loose bolts, dodgy work all over it,
Did you do a video tutorial on tranny service for this sienna?
No I didn’t
Can you link the injector cleaner tool?
a.co/d/hfKLApL
This isnt the method for a 2007 3.5l xe huh?
Awesome job dude I appreciate your efforts
also i noticed your engine mount was toast.lol just saying
Yea lol I can’t remember if I put a new one on. It was my friends car and I remember telling him what parts it needed but don’t remember if we did the mount
great detail thats what everyone needs to know, every detail it might be long video but very good thank you
Not the same as my 3.5 Xe
3.5 xe takes 9 quarts I did mines a few months ago im doing it again this week I got a little leak cause I didn’t use sealant
I have a crack and still drive every day just monitor coolant
Hey Bro! Thank you for this video. I made a comment a year ago that I was able to successfully replace the head gasket! I was hoping you could point me in the right direction on my current issue. Crank - No start - No error code. Leading up to this I received some cylinder 2 misfire at startup. I would turn off the vehicle and restart and would not have any issues. I have compression, ignition and gas. I replaced the cylinder 2 spark plug and ignition coil. (I also replaced the MAF sensor. I cleaned that at one point, and it seemed to improve the misfires) Any advice in pointing me in the right direction would be appreciated. Thanks again. You already helped me get another year out of my vehicle and I'm hoping you can do it again!
Have you done any valve lash adjustments? I bet that’s what’s going on
I’m re reading this and didn’t realize you stated the car wasn’t starting. Do you see a flashing key on the dash (possible key issue which is possible) also where did you get the maF sensor.? A lot of times working at a Honda dealer. if we suspected MAF sensor we would unplug it and the car would start as soon as we turned the key. Let me know.
Consider also did you change all the spark plugs ? Or just one? What brand did you use? Some good quality NGK plugs should be used. With ignition coils always use a good brand also. NGK, Denso and Bosch are decent. There is a lot of bad cheap Amazon/ebay parts floating around. Sometimes there are parts that look very similar to OEM but they aren’t. I just talked to my buddy who is still a Honda tech and he also said there is so many counterfeit parts he’s had to change out that look very similar to OEM.
2017 is different?
I think the only difference was a facelift but should be the same
@@laketownautorepair336 When you burp at the end, does it matter if you fill the overflow reservoir or not? I'm assuming when you top off the funnel like that to burp some coolant will drain down the overflow? Also when your done burping, do you just wait for the car to cool down before removing the funnel and closing the radiator cap?
@jlo5470 it’s a good idea to let it cool down if you have the time. But be sure to check it several days in a row because it will most likely go down because there is always air that is still trapped but top it off constantly. But be sure to fill the reservoir as well after you have filled the radiator.
It happen only to petrols ??
I’m not sure to be honest
Great video!! Thanks
Did you have to go through the re-learn process?
No just cleared the code and then drove it until the pcm cleared the drive cycle
Appreciate this video man. Turned my day from bad to a good day on Christmas day. I couldn't get the fuel rail down and had stoped working on it for the day. Until I seen this video. Went back to customers house and boom went rite down. They was happy and I was happy. Nothing better then making the customer happy. Thanks again yo.... Much appreciated.......
Does the aura have a transmission dip stick to check
I wud suggest k seal i did it to mine its been a year it leaks but alot less
