    Thank you very much!
    It was a booger… and seemed to fight me all the way through it… but I kept going back and restudying your video… and I made it. Actually… turns out the steel cable itself was NOT broken. The little pressed on connector for the plastic coated outside cable had come loose right there at the “push-pull handle”. 🙏🙏🙏 ✌️✌️✌️

    I see that there are 2 Honda Genuine part numbers corresponding to 2001-2005 Honda Civic Trunk/Fuel Lid Release Cable.
    Part 74880-S5P-305 (For 2 Door) and 74880-S5A-305 (For 4 Door).
    The price of the two varies significantly. 74880-s5p-305 is around $35 and 74880-S5A-305 is around $85.
    Is there any secondary market part which is cheaper OR can we use part 74880-S5P-305 for a 2005 Honda Civic 4 door sedan ? Some reviewers say that these can be used interchangeably.

      Did you ever find out if it's the same for the 2 door and 4 door? I have a 2 door but the price for the 2 door is about double than it is for the 4 door even though in the pictures they look exactly the same.

    • @jaminv2889
      @jaminv2889 Год назад

      @@Zeltroix I just called the Honda dealer in my area for mine, she says that it makes a difference in the length of the cable between the 2 door and the 4 door. I needed the 2 door one. It ended up being like $52 at my dealer, only $5 more expensive than an OEM one on Amazon, and I used my VIN to make sure it was the right part.

    Do you easily switch out the trunk key from your old trunk and replace it on the new one??

    • @laketownautorepair336
      @laketownautorepair336  3 года назад +1

      You leave the same key cylinder on. So the same key should work. This only switches the cables that pull release levers
