How many quarts should i use i use 2 and still wont go in reverse but will go in drive
Does the aura have a transmission dip stick to check
This isnt the method for a 2007 3.5l xe huh?
do you remove the bolt with the car running?
Yes.
I may have missed it but the transmission is topped off with the vehicle is running.
The manual gives AT capicity as 5.3 qt. How much did you actually add?
I think that would be overall capacity. From what I remember I only added 4.2 quarts
is there no filter in this transmission ?
not serviceable, you have to take it apart
My god, I'm afraid for my girlfriends transmission fluid... 165k.. been trying to maintain it, it's been hard shifting a lot.
what would you say to a 2009 saturn aura that shifts fine when its cold but doesnt shift at all or go back into gear if you are in park?
So when its warm it doesnt shift at all?
@@laketownautorepair336 no it doesnt. It acts as if it's in park or neutral
I would say your transmission is done. Did it throw any codes? Problem with these transmissions is they arent very reliable. The first saturn aura probably went out at 85,000 miles. And the other wemt out at 120,000
@@laketownautorepair336 only code it threw with the scanner I had was either the shift cylanoids or pump. Just not sure how to proceed with what I have
In the past, I cleaned out the solenoids By using some kind of alcohol solvent. In my case I used mass air flow sensor cleaner on the solenoids. But I ran 12 volts to trigger the solenoid on. After I cleaned it, I used a blow gun to dry it and waited a little bit. While that was drying I changed out the transmission fluid. You could definitely try that. Just a thought. It's worked for me at least 3 times but my cars were shifting really rough and had solenoid codes as well. But like I said it worked
No filter?
Not on this model. Only the hybrid model has a removable filter. This one requires opening the transmission to get to it
@@laketownautorepair336 by draining and filling how much old fluid do you think you got out? 50 percent?
There is a dipstick...
Where at?
That trans fluid looked horrible! Is this vehicle an automatic?
Yes it is
Damn!
Thanks for the video, very informative.
That is not an automatic.. that is a nuclear drive.
