That’s the heuristic. He likes riding higher PSIs for more range and speed.

10% of bodyweight is a good compromise between ride comfort and range, but if you're focused on range, higher is much better. From the range testing that I've done, PSI has more to do with your range than riding style (aggressive vs. casual). I don't need the extra range, so I ride paved at roughly 8% instead of 10%, and on trails I'm closer to 6%.

I wish I’d done a proper range test when I had the board on loan. DC weather was very sketchy that week and I didn’t want to risk water damaging the board since I had it on loan. Maybe I can borrow it again and test the range.

The video is still coming. I need to film some more Broll so it’s entertaining to watch. I sent the rough edit to the guy who helped me with it and that was the feedback I received from him.

It would be cool to see Javier in the mix, but I think the path he’s on now where he can try and promote different vehicles is best for him.

I think the Factory Team is more geared towards the competitive aspects of the boards/sport, such as those who race or do freestyle tricks. Not taking anything away from TekXkai, he more or less represents the less sexy part of the board rider (like me), who use it for commuting, getting fresh air, exercise, or some form of zen. The company has certainly shown their love and appreciation for what he's done with the support and gifts they've given him over the years.

Thank you. I unfortunately had a water damaged GT S and my GT ended up smoking one random night like Javier mentioned. Rather than blaming it on water damage, Future Motion just told me I had to pay because it was out of warranty. I’m glad your boards have survived swimming and snow! Those are expensive repairs!

Should I get the GTS during this sale?

@@followdon oh for sure man, every board is different u know so some might be perfectly watter tight and another might have a pinched gasket u know.

@@zalla135 absolutely! 100% worth it, GTS is king man

...thats OK for DIY boards and makers but not ok for a company as large as future motion. Every board should be exactly the same. The failure rate should be 0.0004% , that is industry minimum standard.

VESCing the Pint will give you more power in that smaller form factor. I will say I really enjoyed the XR Classic. It’s a good alternative to the GT with the 6” hub and a lower ride height.

DJI sells the Mic 2 as a transmitter only option. I didn’t buy the receiver (which was a mistake). But yes, so long as you can hide the receiver in the stitch line, the full DJI Mic 2 kit is a great audio solution. But the 32-bit float cannot be enabled without a receiver or a DJI camera (e.g. Osmo Pocket 3).

Every board has it. But the GT S-Series haptic starts at around 24.9 mph for me.

I’m glad there is good competition coming from VESC builds. The dream is to have easy to buy boards that are rideable out of the box, backed by a reputable vendor, ideally with distributed service centers. Fungineers wasn’t on my radar so I’m glad you brought them to my attention.

@ Yeah while you do have to build the Fungineers X7 board, it’s been claimed to be the best riding board out there even over the ADV. Plus it’s fully customizable being it’s an XR frame.

Based on their spec page, yes. But speed affects mileage. I’m looking forward to testing it. I’ll be able to try it next weekend.

I’m trying to find them online but can’t. I bought them in a store called “Somewhere” in DC. They are New Balance shoes. The closest comps I could find were the “327”s. But those are women’s shoes only on their site.

Onewheel still feels like the perfect name to me. But for non-FM boards, FloatWheel grabbed the second-best name. For all other VESCs-based boards in the single-wheel form factor, who knows what they should be called? FreeWheels?

Sometimes I'm riding while friends are walking and chatting with me and I feel bad. A 2-person solution would be good for that and for dates. But I'm sure you saw they announced an XR Classic.

@ very happy to see the announcement. Quite logical, but perhaps a bit late. Fits the OneWheel legacy and main purpose without trying too hard for the new. Keep up the good work @followdon!

Based on my spreadsheet, it makes a lot of sense that they priced the XR Classic between the Pint S and the GT.

The Pint platform could use some extra love. The XR Classic looks cool, but I'm worried about the torque for my weight.
