Another great video! +1 on the tip to "pop your knee forward" for the dismount. I find this is a lot more consistently easy for new riders to pick up than telling them to "lift their heel", which often results in them shifting their weight to their other hip and the board moving backwards.
Thank you! One of the other local riders taught me to describe it that way. Going zen with the body so that the board actually stops has also helped me make my dismounts more smooth. I appreciate you for watching, Exonfang!
Excellent video, Don! Beautiful model and photos- she rocked both the one wheel and the shoot!! What set up are you using for your BTS? It was so smooth how it went from the model to the shot of you!
Thank you, Cassandra! I used the Insta360 One R 360 edition. It over-captures and allows you to reframe in post-production. The workflow for adding to Final Cut or Premiere isn’t the best, but it’s a useful tool!
I should have. I need to buy knee pads and I do have wrist guards. I’ll get those ready for the next model I teach! I’m serious about introducing more women to Onewheel!
I kick with my right and I'm goofy foot. It's actually better to go behind her and do the push test. Whatever foot she steps forward with is her stance.
Many of our top riders in the DMV ride goofy and kick with their right. I like the push test you mentioned and Jake Leary’s slide with your socks test. I suppose I taught her with my own preference in mind. Thanks for sharing the tip!
@@followdon I think I'm going to make a whole video on this! I do not like the push test because, even assuming that the pusher pushes you perfectly evenly, you will just step with whichever foot you have less weight on, doesn't necessarily mean that foot should be in front. I like the slide test because this is your braking position on a Onewheel and braking is important for safety
Do you want to see more *behind the scenes* videos for my *photo shoots* on this channel? 🤔
Yes!!!
This is so helpful!
Glad you think so! Good luck with your GT!
SO rad Don! Great lesson too
Thank you! 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Awesome video Don!
Thank you ❤️
I've taught a couple of my friends riding my pint and I definitely can tell she's a natural
She did awesome! It’s fun introducing new people to the Onewheel.
Indeed, the "Oh, shit. Car." instinct is a powerful one. Very cool video.
Lmao. Thank you, Mario! I was impressed by her reaction!
She’s gorgeous
Yes! Cool seeing her transformation for the shoot when she isn’t in the coat!
😍
❤️❤️❤️
You da best, Jolie!
Really nice video bro....no irritating music but actually representing the ladies out there who need to ride😃👍
Yes! Bring more women into the Onewheel community. Thanks for the kind compliment ❤️
Good video DJ! Wife and I need to come to your area for a visit. This is Phillip
Thanks for watching, Phil! Come through! I have two boards if you want to try riding!
@@followdon I’ll try to ride one lol
That helmet though. Where you get it? Give up the goods bruh!
That is the Lumos Matrix helmet. I bought mine at the Apple Store. I needed to try it on in person because I have a big noggin!
Right on bruh. Thanks.
Bruh how can I holla at you?

Yeeet!!!
Thanks, Don! Lol
I want your whole brain on youtube hahahaha
My guy, Gyasi O! Hit me up and let’s catch up!
Protect that woman's hands & knees! Nobody cares if your knees are scared up but she will. Your a good teacher though.

That makes a lot of sense. Thanks for breaking that down!
