    I'd love to see more PEV video creators adding speedometers to their videos. It sort of looks like a video game, and gives the viewer more information about how your board is performing. Tag me in your content if you try this @followdon!

      A couple things worth mentioning:
      1. You can turn off notifications like the low battery warnings so that they don’t block the speedometer in the app.
      2. Syncing is easier with a clear audio track. When you start recording, make sure all devices are nearby and clap to create an audio spike. Perhaps say where you’re headed in your ride and the current date and time just to be safe and to help you while you’re editing.

    • @followdon
      @followdon  8 месяцев назад +2

      You got this! The fundamentals are the same. Make sure you can capture audio with your screen recording. Mask the app. Use a blend mode to remove the app background. Use the color grading tools to darken the app background if necessary.

      @@followdon OK, I rode 6 miles with a top speed of 15 mph.
      The combination of 15 miles an hour and the high speed wobbles was enough to set my calves into a nuclear meltdown.
      Was totally fun and I did it in an after hours parking lot, which let me go wherever I wanted. Even in that short amount of time I picked up quite a bit, and the wobbles are reduced considerably, but muscle memory + mass will bring it back to normality.
      Changed a few settings on the roll/yaw and it “seems“ to help with the wobbles, although it could be a placebo as this whole thing is new.
      No road rash, or even any falls, but a few pop off’s trying to get used to lifting my foot. Lol
      Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that I’m 57 --which really doesn’t mean dick, but I’m liking the disclaimer at this point. 😂😂

    • @followdon
      @followdon  8 месяцев назад

      @Mark_The_Mayven that’s better progress than I made on my first day! It takes practice to build the muscle memory and confidence - like most athletic pursuits.
      Keep at it! Keep having fun with it!

    Awesome tutorial. Im going to try and do this in Davinci resolve because Final Cut Pro is $499 AUD. Any suggestions for a cheaper mic. The rode mic you use is also $199 AUD so a bit out of my price range.

    • @followdon
      @followdon  8 месяцев назад +1

      I’m sure this is doable in Davinci Resolve. Just learn how Multi Cam works in that app. I searched for a tutorial and found this one: ruclips.net/video/yYICy3Iqjms/видео.htmlsi=lrqzPOP_5aob1xQn.
      The reason I bought the Rode Mic Pro is for the 32-bit float feature that makes it near impossible to mess up the audio levels. I found that other mics would sometimes peak and the audio would distort when I was riding.
      You can buy other wireless mics that record internally and set lower gain levels. DJI makes a mic system that comes with one transmitter that is less expensive but very good. It does not have 32-bit float, but it has been less prone to peaking and distorting than the Rode Wireless GO II, that I’ve also tried. You still may need to play with the recording levels. Here is a link for that mic: amzn.to/4aK2tXR
      Thanks for watching and send me a note if you make a video with a speedometer. I’d love to see it!

    • @troyp2439
      @troyp2439 8 месяцев назад

      Wow. Thanks heaps mate for the links to the Davinci tutorial and advice on the mics. Maybe I’ll get the Rode like you have. I can afford it just can’t justify it as I don’t post much content with audio. If I’m using audio just to synch the video with the speedometer would the Insta 360x3 mic be good enough for that?

    • @followdon
      @followdon  8 месяцев назад +1

      @troyp2439 yes. If you don’t plan to talk in your videos, you don’t need the Rode mic at all. Just make sure that when you start your recording on the phone and the insta360 that you do a clap sync or say some words that both devices can hear clearly before you start moving.

    • @troyp2439
      @troyp2439 8 месяцев назад

      @@followdon No worries will give that a try thanks. I just have to now find a way in Davinci to create the mask around the speedometer reading. Ive worked out one way to do it but cant see how to change the blend mode to lighten.

      @troyp2439 use the “Lighter Color” blend mode ruclips.net/video/97VHgJwnrbo/видео.htmlsi=I-c1yZ3UaeX48tBX
