Excellent video, maybe the best one I've seen yet for motovlogging with an Insta360. Thanks!
Thanks
As someone new to working with 360 footage this is a great introduction, especially the editing tutorial. Many thanks and love the cb1000r in black!
No problem Darren
Great video...beautiful bike!! I've only been able to edit from iPhone & iPad, but you've cleared everything up for me. Thank you!!
No problem Angela, glad it helped
Absolutely fascinating Tony! I will most probably never use a 360 cam but knowing what detailed work you motovlogers do to achieve the results you do is extremely interesting.
Awesome, thank you!
Very good video and easy explanation Tony
One of the best I've seen for the basic features
Thank you
Glad it was helpful Nigel, cheers

Thank you for the video. There was no way I was going to edit videos on my phone. I just got the 360 1x2 for Christmas and this looks like the proper way to edit the footage. I have been in in 360 school for a couple of days and will shoot some footage this weekend.
No problem, have fun!
HOLY SH...CRAP! THIS VIDEO HAS BLOWN MY MIND! You sir are the man!

Great to hear!
Took me a while to find a good video on this process, especially from a motorcyclist point of view. Thanks for the helpful content!
Glad it was helpful!
You make that look so easy I'm sure its not but its made me think of buying one ! very enjoyable cheers
If I can do it Jim, anyone can!
Impressive work. Thank you

excellent. Loved the video. You have tempted me to go 360 degree. Not that I've started pushing much up in the way of videos to youtube yet !
Go for it!
Very useful. Most just seem to brush by the editing as if we should already know how. They just zoom past but this is very new to many of us.
Glad it was helpful!
This was an awesome video thank you for making it.

Excellent video man... 👌🏻

Best video about Insta360, here goes my subscribe
Thank you, and welcome to the channel
Took your ideas , bought a praktica z360 quarter of the price ,124 quid , and used insta studio to edit the vid , cheers shane , watching this video helped with the editing on my vid , very thankful shaneweightman
Excellent, and no worries
Thank so much for this I’ve been thinking of getting a camera and the 360 seems to be best choice but I was worried about the editing as I’m not used to it.
I will also fit a Innov as a permanent camera for safety reasons and they are always on!
Glad I could help!
super info. Ty.
No problem
I have bought a 360 , camera on a budget , the Praktica z360 ,, 124 quid , amazed with the results , and thanks to this vid , helped me in the editing stage of my first footage , I have reviewed the camera on my channel , to date think the only review thanks shaneweightman
Nice one, i'll check it out
Great! Exactly what I needed to see for basic filming on my motorcycle. (Scooter: 650 Bergman..haha) Great explanation buddy. Thank you.
Glad it helped!
Thanks for the info. Just placed an order thru your link to help your channel.
Awesome, thank you very much!
Good stuff brother
Appreciate it
excellent video, very informative, thanks for your trouble.
Glad it was helpful, thanks for watching
This is an awesome video! Thanks mate. 360 video looks quite easy to do after seeing that. The insta software looks great as well. One question - how are you recording the sound of the bike? I assume its not coming from the insta360 as its positioning would give serious wind noise? Is it possible to record the bike sound using the insta? External mic perhaps?
Thanks, the bike sound is coming from the mic in my helmet thats recording my voice. The sound is pretty decent from the INSTA360 at slow speeds, but yep wind noise is a real problem on the bike.
Great vid, thanks! wondering if you ever used this set up offroad. was thinking of getting the 360 R to use on dualsport rides, but I'm worried the video will be shaky (not to mention im not sure the camera can handle a fall)
Very light offroad yes, but its not very stable from a mounting point of view. The camera does a pretty good job of stabilising the footage, but leverage is a problem with the camera on a long stick
Good Content.. I Learned about how shoot & edit 360Deg video's...
Thanks
thank you!
You're welcome!
Video greate, thank you
Thank you too!
Fascinating.
Cheers
This video was super helpful I was wondering how did the 360 cameras work!!!!! I will definitely be buying one for my rides, thanks!
No problem, glad it was useful
my dream camera,
I really want a camera (insta one X2), but I don't have money to buy it,
nice video
Been using it and love it. Just trying to figure out the audio
Same here, I tend not to use the audio from it when filming on the bike as it’s obviously hard to minimise wind noise. But at low speeds I think it does a reasonable job
which kit is best to purchase? Great video. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks
No problem
Simple and convenient sir 🗿🤝🏼
Glad it was of use
Great clip! I really wanted to grab this camera but really intrigued to how the post production nightmare would it bring. Turns out its quite simple as you explained it! Anyway I can't help but to notice that your blinkers going on and off during your ride? Or is that just camera. I have CB250R so I know the blinkers stays on during the ride but never flickers when moving
Thank you. Yes the flickering lights are just down to the frame rate i used on the camera. I usually shoot at 24fps, but if I switched to 50 that effect would disappear.
This is excellent video. Demystifies the paradigm of the editing software. One question, do you prefer the desktop over the mobile version?
Thanks. I like what you can do with the mobile version and its great for getting content onto social media when out and about. But for form factor, I prefer to edit on the desktop.
Really informative video, thanks. I'm not interested in creating vlogs but I am interested in using a camera like this to record interesting rides and the scenery, but I can't find anything on RUclips that covers that objective - everyone seems to want to record themselves ;) Would the Insta360 One X2 be good for this i.e. capturing scenery all around?
GoPro and other single direction cameras are either forward, rear or rider facing only and they tend to flatten steep hills etc. so you lose the perspective.
Thanks, yes the beauty of the camera is that it’s filming in 360 degrees all the time. You just select what you want to focus on when it come to the edit
16:43 hi great video, can you stitch in go pro or drift footage to combine cameras
Just bought this camera today. Thanks for the software primer and overall great content. Would love to know your thoughts on other mounting locations on the bike.
Thanks Mickey, heres the other video looking at mounting options ruclips.net/video/hdBdgRyOtiY/видео.html
@@mancavemoto brilliant, thanks!
Hey Tony. Nice Video like you always do.👍👍👌💯💯💯
Do you use Lens Guard on your insta360 One x2?
If yes, wich one are you using?
Thank you....
Thanks, no I don’t use lens guards. But having trashed one camera I should probably look at them
I hope someday i got one of that
Just starting to use a insta360 on my ktmsmcr690
It’s because of all that “faff” that I don’t do RUclips videos and rather leave it to pros like you.
Pros? lol
Yes, your videos are superb and come across as very professional.
This was the best edit explanation I’ve seen yet (and done on a Mac). I’ve been researching 360 cams for a while to add as a second cam to the bike and I think I have made my decision. I see the buttons on the software for Premiere and FCP - do you know if this will work with DaVinci Resolve as well? Thanks and new sub 👍
Thanks, there are plug ins for both FCP & PP, but i've not seen anything for Resolve. I tend to just edit the clips in insta360 studio, then import them with the rest of my projects in FCP
I think AndyManCam mentioned a Resolve plugin in his review video.
Just invested in one, looks fun but a steep learning curve.
Its not too bad, you can get great results very quickly
After the 3 claps, how do you merge the cameras in editing, going back and forth between cameras? Thanks.
It’s a case of sitting the clips on top of each other in the editing software, lining them up using the claps, then cutting and hiding or deleting the parts you don’t need
Thank you thank you thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You're welcome!
Thanks, Just got mine for a Rockies trip. ? Can you make one video form several video clips. If so can you do a video on that. I'm an old dog learning new tricks so to speak.. Like the way you explain things simple and to the point.
Yes you can, but you'll need different video editing software to pull the clips together. insta360 studio as far as I can see only has the ability to work with one piece of footage at a time.
Thanks for the video, it ie very helpful! I just got mine with motorcycle bundle and got the same setup as you, just mounted to the mirror bar. How much do you trust the clamps? Are they safe enough for higher speeds?
Glad it helped, and yes they've been pretty good so far for me
nice video
Thanks
Thanks! Could please tell me how much the selfie stick was extended for the second movie, the one on the highway? Look really good and floating. Btw, nice bike!
It was fully extended
Good information re editing and use of the 360. Still undecided because of battery life in low UK temperatures.
Thanks, the battery lfe has been pretty good, no worse than any of my Gopros tbh
I’ve watched a video on battery life comparison with GoPro at cold temps. This battery beats them all.
Excellent video. Question, what software do you use to combine the different clips together?
I use Final Cut Pro, but apparently you can combine multiple clips in Insta 360 studio, so I’m looking into that….
Great video, Tony.
Was the footage we saw filmed just using the shortish handlebar mount system you showed us, or did you have to use a longer stick?
The reason I ask, is that the bike appeared to be a nice 'useful' distance away from the camera.
Cheers.
Thanks and good point! the footage of me riding the trident in the editing section was filmed with the same bar clamp but with the invisible selfie stick. The parts of me on the CB1000 were shot with the set up you saw. I forgot to mention that in the video
@dungbeetle thanks i was about to ask that
@@mancavemoto thanks to you for the video. Amazing explanation and I hope there’s a windows version of this application
i am loving this camera but single thing i dont like it the curve kind of footage....i am sure they will improve thisnin next version...and this camera features are superb...never had thought such kind of footage
I am unsure why, my footage plays in super slow-mo. when its loaded into the computer. for 7 seconds of footage, it takes 30 seconds. Very annoying. Any help to change this, please?
What frame rate did you record in?
Did you use a mic and the Gopro to record voice while you were riding? I see nothing connected to the One X2.
I do my framing on my iPad.
P.S. You answer the sound recording at the end. You also mention phone editing too. THanks!
No worries
🤔🤔🤔 leave it to the pros me thinks, lovin the channel 😎
Cheers Jon, its easy after bit of playing around
Hi, can you plug the camera into your laptop and download all the files to empty the card whilst on a long trip? Brilliant video btw. It’s my go to video.
Yes you can, and thanks
This explainer and demo is excellent. So helpful, thank you!
You're very welcome!
Great video! Please be careful riding on the wrong side of the road! 😁
that's a good one haha
Great Video:)
But one question I always have is if the vibration of the motorcycle does damage the camera in the long run? There is a Vibration damper that can be bought but I have never seen anyone use it 🤔 so I wonder if it really is not neccessary?
No as far as I know there are no issues, the camera doesn’t have ‘mechanical’ anti vibration’ like an iPhone does. These are as robust as any other action cam
Been tempted for a while on these. Used the old ricoh 360 few yrs ago but the vid quality was poor... insta360 does seem to nail it ...
They are getting better, Insta360 seem to be concentrating on the user experience which is a good thing
Very well and simply explained without over complicated bull crap cheers very much, I’m trying to achieve similar results with a rather budget setup 360 camera , that won’t connect to its app on my phone , however unusually for me had a brain wave, Downloaded the insta app on my pc, take the footage from my 124 quid praktica z360:, then stick it on the pc, and edit the footage with the insta software ,and although probably won’t have a patch on the insta camera ,, that I intend buying in the near future ,,,, I am impressed for 124 uk pounds , I will sneak some footage soon onto my RUclips channel , that is mainly air rifles and target shooting , I also ride motorcycles cheers shaneweightman
Nice one Shane
Great video. Just picked up the 360. Question- what frame rate do you shoot in the 360 when wanting to combine it with gopro footage? I typically shoot my gopro in 60fps, but insta360 doesn't have 60fps. Thanks!
Cheers, I shoot everything at 24fps anyway so I never encounter that problem
How to trim videos you dont like in the middle of the video for example I like the first 2 mins, and i will delete the 2:30mins to 3mins? And how are you syncing gopro and insta360 into one whole video? Thanks
I find it easier to do all that in Final Cut Pro, which is my main editing software
Hi quick question I have a dji osmo action and when I record videos it will give me mutiple files like if I recorded a 20 Min video I think I end up with 4 or so files it splits the file after a certain amount of recording cant remember if it's 5min or 10 min then it splits the files. With the insta 360 does it do that as well or no matter how long u record it will be all as 1 file ? Hope u can answer I think im going to get a insta 360 x3
I’ll check but I’m pretty sure it records it as all one file. Well for the length I’ve recorded clips for. You need to consider that it’s recording two videos at 5.3k so the files can get pretty big!
@@mancavemoto when ever u get a chance to check that would be great. That's one annoying thing about my osmo action recording longer videos I always up with with mutiple clips I need then add together would rather it be 1 larger file with the hole video as 1 file. I don't mind if insta 360 gives 2 clips 1 lower quality and 1 larger size thats full quality
Are you using a longer stick to record the video you're editing or the first small one you showed at the begining?
Yes the video i'm editing is with the selfie stick fully extended
Hi there! Have you had any issues with the clamp chipping paint off of the handlebar? I notice that the bike mount that came from Insta360 didnt have any rubber to protect the handlebar from the mount. Thank you!
I didn't
