Insta360 were kind enough to send me one of their amazing One X2 360 cameras for some AMC style Testing. So instead of the usual boring review, I thought I’d head out on my Honda CB1000R and actually show you what this camera can do, rather than just talking about it!
INSIDER TIP
It is possible to create all of these shots using the Insta360 studio app. I however, used the KartaVR plugin, inside of Davinci Resolve to create this video. There are countless other videos available on RUclips about how to do this and it would easily fill another video for me to talk about it here! But now you know! 😉

Brilliant review and explanation Andy, am so glad you are getting on so well with it. I absolutely love mine, really should get it strapped to my bikes a bit more often! :D
Great review Andy, you've really cracked using that bad boy! Love some of the mounting ideas 👍
You need to look at your mountings, I say what happened to one of your cameras! Did you get it back? 👀
Great review Andy, got to say, your footage and vlogs are spot on, music, content etc! I'm debating getting one of these bad boys! Particularly enjoyed the hairpin footage! Ride safe pal
Nice one Andy, as you know I'm a huge fan on the Insta360 cameras, they increase your creative potential immensly without increasing the faff level too much. I would advise anyone thinking of getting an Insra360 camera for your bike rides. Don't get the Insta360 One R, it has a tendency to vibrate itsself apart. The Insta360 One X 2 that Andy has is by far the better option.
So good, Andy. Thanks. I've been experimenting with my OneR and having a bit of a tough time getting what I'm looking for, but you've given me some good ideas that I'll when the rain stops ;). Cheers.
Great work, Andy. Love the 360! Love your rides too. Great show!
Respect Andy to the amount of work you put in to give us great content
Excellent presentation, Andy! I'm considering one for my recumbent bicycle tours. Currently using GoPro 8 and DJI Action 2. They are both sharp and stable, but no comparison to what looks like drone shots! The sweeping views and hidden selfie stick are simply amazing!
Thanks for the video Andy, fantastic footage and very informative. Will definitely be on my wanted list 👍
Awesome review Andy! Top quality as always
Great review and mounting tips! The break between recordings is the most frustrating bit for me. On my Instsa360 One X the gap between recordings is a random figure between 7 and 8 seconds and that makes it very time consuming to sync it with footage from other cameras or external audio. If the "continuous" recordings were timestamped incrementally like a GoPro it would be a massive help but annoyingly each video starts from 00.00 so the camera doesn't really treat them as "joined up" recordings.
I've gone through lots of weird and wonderful mounting ideas over the last couple of years but nowadays I just like the ability to have it film in all directions at once and I typically just use a couple of angles in my videos (usually one looking at/over the instruments and one facing me).
Super cool review! Love it and subscribed.
Nice review!! And again!!!! Love your music choice, great work😁💪🏻👍🏻
Thank you for your efforts mate ...best bike demo to date on YT showing how you aimed it. Really good
Thank you kindly mate! Tried to get in as much as i could! Still things i wish I’d put in now! 😆
Mega edit, and footage Andy🔝🎥🎬🆒 Absolutely stunning cinematography✌🏻
Good explanation about the axis and stitch line slicing through nearby objects that you don't want any distortions.
I'm going to try these with my GoPro Max360.
Brilliant review, especially loved the various mounting locations you’ve tried. Refreshing to hear the niggles and tips on making sure nothing intrudes into the footage. Top drawer Sir.
Many thanks Mark. Happy to have helped! 👍🏻
i subscribed because i like the song. I arrived here, looking for information about the camera, but stayed for the song! Good REVIEW!
Amazing review man! Subbed & thank you!
That looks really cool, love the shirt Andy
Thank you for such a wonderful amount of knowledge!
I am convinced this camera is for me thanks to you
My pleasure Julian, thanks for watching. Happy 360 recording!
thank you for the mounting idea with sample video tutorial. Can't wait for my One X2 to arrive in the mail
I'm a motovlogger from the Philippines. I was hesitating to buy this camera. I'm glad I found your channel! I hope I can get it next month. You've inspired me!
Hey! My pleasure! Check out this link, you might be able to get a discount and some free accessories: www.insta360.com/sal/one_x2?insrc=INRSR2I
I am so glad that you did this video, although in fairness I did not expect anything else, however it is good to see how you mount it and what type of clamps you use.
I have to say, I have gone the two GoPro camera route but I am interested in the Insta360, although I guess for me it is the editing that is of more concern.
I have the bike, don’t have the check shirt or the beard, my vids are still boring though! 😂 😂

Back on Two Wheels
Definitely the best reviews on the One RS and the One x2. I own and shoot with both and your reviews are spot on. Thanks for all your hard work. I picked up a few tips and tricks I'm sure I will use the next time I go out. The One RS is without question the best action cam value on the market and I also shoot the DJI Action 2, currently my helmet mounted B Roll cam. See ya out there!
Fabulous video 👍
Great review Andy.
Great review mate. Glad I stuck around for the second half. 👍
Awesome tips man! Thanks for sharing.
My pleasure! Thanks for watching!
It's amazing how little far out you actually need to mount the camera to get those "far" shots! Kudos for such great video! New subscriber!
Great review, instruction, tips. Thanks for the effort.
My pleasure William! Happy to help out wherever i can!
Best video I've seen 👏 good luck bro
Cool video man, inspired me to drop the coin into one of these myself. Little confusing trying to figure out the first time, but quickly caught on, and absolutely love it!
That’s WIA! Very happy to hear it. It’s such a cool toy! Keep enjoying!!
Clear and concise, at last I now understandy. Thanks Andy. 👍
Big FAT Thumbs Up Mate!! Great advice on angles and editing. Subbed!!
Thank you very much ISR! My pleasure and welcome to the team!
Thank you for the review! The riding video was beautiful. I also use Insta360 One X2 when I'm in a motorcycle race, but the invisible stick wasn't stable if I set it long. Maybe it isn't durable enough for hectic turns.... but it is worth buying!😉
Thank you for watching! I agree that the longer the stick gets, the less stable it becomes! I fix mine on with 2 RAM clamps and a connecting piece. That way one clamp holds the bike and the other clamp holds the selfie stick. 👍🏻
Great mounting examples Andy, that gives me food for thought when using mine, cheers. It is a great bit of kit for adding particular shots but it does have its limitations. It is not as handy for combined video/audio on the one file from a good old GoPro (or similar) but It adds a dimension to the video that enriches it. I have the sticky-on lens guards and find they just steam up in the wet, every time, as the unit gets quite warm. How the water gets in is the mystery but it renders the output unusable. It is possible the premium lens guard might not suffer the same fate, I'll have to try. I find the touchscreen menu frustrating and would much prefer an apple TV type of tactile button, it can be a bit flaky I find. The Pros outweigh the cons though and it is an amazing bit of kit.
Brilliant bit of tech but I appreciate its a lot more time for you post ride. The results are awesome though 👍
Nice vid. 🙂
Absolutely brilliant video! Thank you!
My pleasure! Glad you enjoyed it!!
Great video and great idea for install in the bike...
Really compliment and thank you!
Very good job on the review👏🏼 think this is where I’m headed
Thanks very much GD. It’s a very useful tool indeed!
Absolutely LOVE the Insta360 OneX2!
You and me both! Extremely versatile tool!
Great vid and clear and honest review and also balanced and fair.👍
Great review!! Thanks for sharing!
I genuinely bought a one x2 because of your videos. Just wish you’d posted this 2 weeks ago, before I toured round Wales for a week 😂 None the less, THANK YOU
Good review, enjoyed the fact you've shown mount points and their effects.
Cheers Alan. I thought that might be more useful than just showing the footage 😎
Mate this is amazing so many ideas now
Many thanks Tom cheers. Happy to help!!
This is by far the most amazing setup that I see. Torn between getting this or the gopro 10.. Thank you!
The Insta 360 Karma Sutra.
Really interesting vid and great camera work as always. Cheers.
Bought one a month ago. Love it.
Interesting to see & hear how the magic happens Andy. Keep it coming please mate. Now into week 10 of lockdown in Oz 🇦🇺 with no end in sight till Oct or Nov. 👍🇦🇺🏍😷
👍👍👍 Awesome videos & reviews!!
Thanks very much MK!
Amazing camera! Very interesting video. 😎👍
Thanks for the video. I got some good ideas for mounting positions on my bicycle (Pedal Power) for my insta360 camera. Cheers.
Thanks for doing this review, I've been considering one of these for a couple of weeks now. Is editing pretty straightforward? I use Final Cut Pro and I'm wondering if its easy enough to incorporate the footage with GoPro footage? Thanks
Great video, just what I needed. Thanks 👍🏻
My pleasure! Cheers for watching and glad to help!
Really enjoyed your video!
Many thanks SR! 👍🏻
Great review.. Got a x3 coming soon and your info will help me about.. Thank you 👍
My pleasure Gary, happy to help!
Bloody awesome mate.
I’m about to dive into this scene (bad dad pun!) and this was a great tutorial for me.
Thanks mate.
My pleasure mate! Happy diving! 😉
Great honest review. Really considering the upgrading this from my GoPro Hero 7 Silver
Thanks mate. It’s very different, but incredibly capable! As long as you’re willing to put a bit more processing time in. I actually got rid of my Hero 7 since having this too. (Still have a Hero 8 though!)
Yet another great video!
Great informative video Andy, I actually use the GP 360, but can still utilise those mounting point ideas with my GSA, bought the Ram mount clamp now too!😀
Happy to help mate! Have fun Testing! The clamp is brilliant, as I’m sure you now know for yourself!
Fortunately fir me Mrs traveller takes footage from the back. And she makes a great video. Lucky me. Life is good.
Happy travels
Just got one Andy, like having your own camera crew, just need to develop my editing skills😜
Great review Andy , will check through your vids to see if you have any editing tutu rials, as I’m sure you said you do it on ur pc ,,, cheers Shane uk 🇬🇧
This is an awesome video!
Many thanks Mario! Cheers for watching.
Awesome video mate, love that footage BUT what's the editing like?? I would get rid of all of my GoPro gear for one of these cameras but I'm worried about the editing process. Would you be so kind as to show the process? Thanks!
Great review and stunning shots. Tnx for sharing how you achieved those and what to look out for 💪
My pleasure Rob and thanks for watching!
Great vid again Andy I've been playing with making some need to get more personality into mine lol. I couldn't afford a insta bought a secondhand Samsung 360 so far so good pain stitching and editing tho. Cheers for the ideas 👍
Well hello long time no visit. I hope I find you well. Very interesting video! Don't know if I'm ready for a 360 yet! Take care! TML 🏍💨
It’s all a matter of time! 😜 Though seriously, the effect is awesome, if you’re prepared for the faff!!
Fantastic informative video mate 👍🏍
My pleasure! Cheers Darren! 🤙🏼
Apart from the fact that I am so jealous you are in Germany, this was a great review and obviously as seen in your excellent shots produces quality! Cheers for the upload.
Many thanks Pete! My pleasure. It is a great tool for this kind of thing!
BRAVISSIMO !
GREETINGS FROM SOUTH ITALY !
You did an excellent editing your shots and keyframe selection. I just only recently got one of these, my first 360, and getting use to the editing and camera selection settings is going to take some time to get efficient.
Thanks Randy! Practice makes perfect mate. Just keep trying stuff out! 👍🏻
Great job!
Good day to you.
I am a senior rider on HONDA from Japan.
Enjoying touring ,camping and video uploading.
This is so nice video
Awesome!!
Thank you so much for sharing!
Full supported !
Have a nice day my friend!!
Thanks very much and the very same to you mate! 👍🏻
Another nice video AMC! I'm currently working my way through your Austria trip. I know you said there is plenty of KartaVR info out there, but do you have any tips with Davinci Resolve 360 reframing workflow? Your video quality looks top-notch but my Insta360 exports reframed look like potato water (unless i set things to work on x000 Gb files sizes), but mainly I haven't yet worked out how to cut and reframe ~3 hours footage in reasonable time, into 10 mins of youtube-worthy content.
Hey Andy, fabulous video and extremely useful when deciding on mounts for the Camera. Couple of questions - what was the background music to the video and I can’t see how you add music in the Insta studio software; do you export then add elsewhere or am I missing something ? Cheers ..
Actually going to buy one of these after seeing you use it on other videos.
Nicely done Mate!! Just got mine and my first video is heavy on the Red color
Thanks! Try using the Standard color profile. The vivid one is pretty heavy on the contrast and saturation.
Thanks for tips 😊
My pleasure! Cheers for watching!
Great info thanks
My pleasure. Cheers for watching!
Thanks and very nice!
Superb review 👍
Certainly clever camera with the alternate angles. As long as there is not too much of the “fish-eye” look , the different angles add dimension to videos. However I still like the straight on GoPro shots when riding the twisties
Why do I like your review Vids so much. Is it your dulcet tones, yes. Is it your dashing good looks, err NO lol. Is it your amazing knowledge and explanation of the product you’re reviewing, absolbloodylutely.
You must have lots of time to kill to enable yourself with the research to be able to fire it back at us mere mortals with such aptitude AMC.
If I had the spare spondoolies I would have bought one of these cameras immediately but alas I have not, unlike your HJC helmet review, which I did.
Great films of your tour and this review. Well done 👍
Awesome video mate
Thank you kindly Siddarth!
Thanks for posting. Is there a way to post the full 360 view on RUclips? Not sure if it is the same device, but there are other RUclipsrs who make the full 360 view available, but it required having to go to a web site outside of RUclips.
Well done! I love your soundtrack, what's the tune?
Andy, this is the best review and explanation video for this camera I have seen. Only question I have is how hard is it to edit and peice together the footage? Cheers again.
Cheers very much mate! It is a real faff to edit the footage to be fair! I’ve streamlined it as much as possible but, one way or another, it’s added a fair few hours to the process. It can be quicker with the insta360 app, but i like more control so use a plugin inside of davinci resolve.
Hi, I have a question I really hope you can help me with. I purchased the Insta360 one x2 to use for real estate photography and all the interior photos come out bowed. Is there a way to fix that or a setting to keep it from happening that you can share with me? Thank you in advance for any help you can offer. Victoria
"That's exactly what she said" cracked me up! 🤣
Happy to oblige! 😜
Thank you !
AMAZING FANTASTIC TOP REVIEW ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! THANK YOU VERY MUCH SIR ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
Cheers Yiannis, thanks for watching!
Thank you for such a brilliant video Andy! Amazing footage! I'd love to see a video of how you edit this footage together into a sequence. So we can see what software you use and how you work your magic using the editing software. Thank you.
Many thanks Ian. There have been a few requests for a vid on how I put it together, so at some point I must oblige!
Well done Andy. I would blur your speedo tho!😉
I like that side way action too... LOL
bonjour et merci pour cette excellente présentation et analyse de cette superbe caméra que j'utilise
a VTT
merci beaucoup, mon plaisir!
Many thanks for the review and mounting suggestions. Do you have any concerns about errant road debris hitting the lens especially when it's down low? Have you had a look at the lens cover options?
My pleasure John, thanks for watching! Yes of course that’s always a worry. Sadly it’s just an ‚occupational‘ hazard for me and i have to accept the risk! I did consider the lens guards, but they do very slightly reduce the quality of the stitch and the optics. Possibly not so much that anyone would really notice, but sadly I’m a bit of a perfectionist with that stuff! It’s just a matter of protection vs image and which is more important. 🤙🏼
Well done…. Thank You!
Even on the gopro i always have problem with that samsung memory cards.. since i bought the first sandisk 250gb no more problems.
