I just got a hyperstar v4 for my c11 as well. I'll have to get a dew shield that works with my automated flat panel now. What shield do you use?
Hello Tom. Wonderful videos. I also have a CGX and will be pier mounting it (my own design). My issue is duplicating that round mating portion (that attaches to the actual mount) which then gets bolted to your top pier plate. Can you tell me where you got that and if it is available as a stand alone item? Thanks !
It looks like your floor joists are still resting on the concrete. Do your footstep vibrations transmit thru the deck and concrete to the pier at all? I'm trying to decide whether to go cement pier or steel at my place and how much to isolate it from the deck supports. Thanks!
Nice job Tom and to make it even better you have a couple of labs.
please post the ebay link or list of material
Hey, is everything going well? Been a while since you last posted
Light from around the roof join makes me want to suggest some weather proofing. 6 inch wide flap of rubber maybe?
Pringles. Once you start you cant stop :) Another great video ty
I hope all is well tom
Where can I get that t shirt please?
60 years young and just got into this hobby and thanks to you, I'am learning bit by bit and enjoying it even more, keep up the great vids mate. Cheers
I really do enjoy the images that comes from astrophotography, but my favorite thing is the process. After the planning and prep having a sundowner as I wait for darkness. Such a stress reliever hearing the Skywatcher auto-align and slew to target. Then putting together the hours of gathered light to create another peek into the great unknown.
Great video Tom. Love the easy way you explain things. I love astrophotography because every time I see the grandeur of the universe. You make things simple for the people like me to keep going. Thanks
I found your channel to see if I could take on the technical aspects of astrophotography, and it’s been so helpful! I’m working on building my first setup, so this giveaway would be so helpful!🤞🏼 Keep up the good content!
Stunning images
A great watch !
beautiful m51
Good vid Tom! Love the setup you have there! Roughly where in the uk are you? You seem to be getting better weather than where i am ( just north of the big smoke) Also do you find any trouble with starlink satellites spoiling your shots?? Stunning photo btw!
Another thing I like about astrophotography is the people I'm getting to know thank to this hobby. Meeting with my local observatory group is always great and there is always some nice tip we share to each other, while enjoying the beauties of the sky
There are a lot of things for me to love about astrophotography. I really love being outside at night, enjoying the silence and and the slowdown of everything around me if you will. I also love processing the images, going from a near black image to a rich and colorful one, reveling the data that is hidden in it.
Lovely image Tom, Nice video👍👍
thanks 😁
awesome Tom nice detail keep it up
Nice image Tom. I really like that target and the other members of the Cygnus loop. I actually managed to capture it a couple of days before the solstice. At 53° North with a nearly full moon it never really got dark but the L-eNhance filter I used took care of that. I prefer using a mono camera with narrow band filters for targets such as this but due the current weather patterns it can take weeks to capture enough data to form an image so at the moment I'm just using my grab and go rig with a OSC camera. Hope to set up my mono rig permanently later in the year when the builders have finished repairing my house and I can move back in. Clear skies mate.
It's a good hobby to geek out 🥳
Great video!🎉 I would say my favorite part about astrophotography is using it as a means to connect with our reality
I like the massive variety, of objects to find and capture.
Hermosas tomas amigo bella la galaxia m51 y el m,13
videos are getting better mate, you seem a little more comfortable in front of the camera!
Hey, what I love the most about astrophotography is that we are able to do it from our backyard. We are living in such a great time in regards to astrophotography. Clear skies and cheers from Germany 🔭
Hi Tom great image mate, love your enthusiasm for our hobby , what bortle skies conditions do you have ?
Turned out very nice, congrats! So you said you will check in the morning so you let your setup run on its own for the night and go to sleep?
Thanks, yeah so I only go asleep for a few hours I check my satellite app and weather to make sure it has a zero percent chance of rain and try to get a few hours shut eye. Sometimes I sit up and watch it or sleep in the open area and just look at the stars 👍
I came to astrophotography from macro photography, and both has a challenge factor, and a learning curve, so it is like a challenge to improve. The other thing motivated me in both, is to see and show the things which might not be visible for people for the first sight, just looking at things normally, the wonderful creation of God, weather it is a tiny insect or spider, that how much detail they have if we take a closer look, that how carefully and wonderfully they are made, or how much more beautiful things we have on the night sky than what we see just by looking up. Both has a thing, that you need to slow down, i mean probably it is a little rush to set up the gear for astrophotography when you decide to take it out last minute, but once all is set up and running, and just to sit down, stare the skies and waiting for the images to roll in, listening the sounds of the summer nights(the sitting down outside next to the rig only works at summer time), the frogs in the distance, some dogs are barking time to time, the crickets are playing their music right next to you but you never see them, being amazed when seeing a shooting star... it is just a wonderful time, i often use it just to thank God for all His blessings. By the way, it looks cool when you mention the hit the subscribe button, the subscribe button has some animation :D
Nice image! Your stars always turn out so sharp. Definitely want to have a go at that target myself soon
I love that image Tom! Nicely done. I couldn’t help but love your attitude and enthusiasm about learning something in Astrophotography. It does have a steep learning curve, and there is always something new to learn and get good at it. But your happiness about learning and producing a great image a contagious. Love it. Best regards Luis from NY
Thanks Luis, I really appreciate you taking the time to comment and watch the video. It’s just so much fun, I don’t get to frustrated anymore I just take it on the chin and try and do better the next time 😁
Great video and great final picture which is nicely framed and colours are awesome as well. I have just recently purchased the Celestron AVX 8" and the Celestron Autoguider which works really well but important to know how to use it properly. I hope at some point to get the Hyperstar for my scope for a large FoV but this is a journey learning to master the basics first and then taking on other things. Learning to use the hardware for astrophotography is what I really like and when you get that picture you want that shows the colour, shape and size of something whether it be planets of something light years away gives a sense of achievement...well at least it does for me!!
Well, i've been strictly visual with my 6se. I had all these intentions going in to it, but i have learned all of this comes with time and first hand experience. If not around the right people. One day i will begin the astrophotography adventure, i think an autofocuser would be later on down that road, or maybe not!
Thanks for commenting, sounds great, I went straight in the deep end and started images but I have used the scope for visual and it really is beautiful especially Jupiter what a sight just stunning 👍 well , if you win you can take the cash and treat yourself to whatever you want 😃
@@Learn_astrophotography Hey man just tagging along to your adventure is good enough for me! The fun/dangerous part of the hobby is sitting down on amazon on a cloudy night/month.,... :D
Absolutely Stunning m8
Thank you 🙏
For me astrophotography is allowing me & others to actually see the vast universe in great detail & enjoy the greatness of the heavens above us. When we all share these images we spend hours capturing it gives people a chance to see what’s out there & hopefully gets them to stop & think about how small this world we live on actually is compared to the universe.
Hi Tom, ....your last words: clear skies. Pfff waiting for that now for over two weeks. Everytime it's looking promesing, but then the clouds roll in and al the app's ar wrong again. So lucky you, I have time enough to wach your videos ;) Nice picture by the way. Saludos from Spain, Rob.
Hey Rob, thanks for the comment. Mate I wish you clear skies for sure, I went through about 6 months of cloud with the occasional clear night and typically I was always going out so I would keep missing out ☹️ I went through a stage of hating the weather man 😂 he/she was wrong most days.
Cheers for that Tom, will give that ago.👍
Your welcome Bill 👍
With that info, I checked zwo-canon Adapter, it's a mk2 T2 Adapter which has a extender on it for 12.5 or 17.5mm extension, took off the extender and retried it, it's now working great 👍
There is no astro dark at the moment. Best you can do is about 12 until 2am
Yeah I manage about 3 hours of good data collection at the moment 👍 nights will be getting darker before we know it
Awesome job! Did you add the diffraction spikes in post processing?
Thanks for commenting, yes I did, I like that it adds just a little something more 😁
Might we borth checking cuivs video on his zwo af just stopping. I didn't watch it as i dont have an eaf :)
You might win one on Friday the 19th July or the cash. We will see soon enough 🤞
That looks great and has so much colour, also noticed your lawn has some colour now compared with the last video, it has been a good week in Norfolk for clear skies and my beginner's journey continues, as you say mistakes were made and corrected the next night, now on to processing
Thanks for commenting. I finally have grass growing in my garden 🥳🥳 🤣 glad to hear it’s been clear for you enjoy it whilst we can 👍
I love astrophotography
Great video Tom, lovely image of the veil nebula, I've done the other side, the witches broom, I've got the Samyang 135 f2, I would love to put my zwo 533mc Pro with it, but am having problems with back focus.
Thanks Bill, brilliant I can’t wait to get that one. What’s the issue with your back focus? I thought I had an issue with my back focus and it ended up being an overcurrent on my dew controller that heated my corrector plate to hot which then in turn blew my stars
I've got the canon/ zwo connector, but can't get focus, used spacers etc, think I need to spend more time on it.
@@billwright9518 hi Bill I’ve just done a bit of research, it looks as though you need 44mm back focus rings. Have you tried that distance? It should work then 🤞
I use an SY135 with an Altair Astro 533, which I believe has the same back focus as the ZWO ASI533, and do not have any problems. I use the Altair adapter with mine but I believe ZWO supply one that incorporates a filter drawer. I thought the SY135 was of a Petzval design like the Red Cat 51 so back focus shouldn't be such an issue.
Darks and bias are the same across all filters, flats are per filter….👍🏻
Cheers Stuart, I wasn’t sure 😂
I love helping people in the superb hobby of astrophotography, it’s nice to give back to the hobby….
Love it I’m meaning to come back to your other comment on the giveaway but it has been so crazy here.
astrophotography is superb, but visual astronomy is ethereal 🤩
صوره مذهلة.
Thank you so much ☺️
