There're two things I love about the astrophotography, the first is showing the universe to my friends and family through the photos I capture, and second is the perspective of how fragile and small we are compared to the universe, this makes me appreciate what we have even more and be grateful for our blessings

I love astrophotography because it is a great distraction from all the chaos that surrounds me everyday. Looking up to the night sky gives me a sense of peace knowing that there has to be more than just this physical world. And probably other worlds with someone looking back at me thinking the same thing.

When you're able to image the cosmos yourself, in your own backyard, with your own equipment, and see it all happening with your own eyes, it's a connection to the universe that can't be taught. It has to be experienced. It's not just another image in a textbook, it's your own. It's real. And we're all part of it. Peace, love, and clear skies Tom.

I love astrophotography because, while the sky remains almost unchanged over time, the ways in which we can capture and represent each object will always be different. Every astrophoto and astrophotographer shows a unique perspective of the same thing, revealing hidden details, colors, and structures that are invisible to the naked eye. We constantly learn new techniques that will make our photos more original and characteristic and this keeps my passion for astrophotography alive.

As a couple others have mentioned, for me it is "photographing what you cannot see" that I think I enjoy the most about astrophotography. I don't think I've ever talked about the hobby to anyone without attempting to get that point across. It still amazes me every time I see that first full length shot appear on screen!

There are a lot of things for me to love about astrophotography. I really love being outside at night, enjoying the silence and and the slowdown of everything around me if you will. After seeing my very first (and very crude) photographs of the night sky taken with a phone, I was absolutely blown away by what I COULDN'T see when looking through my first Dob. I was totally and completely hooked on astrophotography after that! Hi Tom, two things. First, think I saw you mounting the coupler against the housing of the autofocuser. I my work I use to work every now and then with those coupler too. You need to make sure to have some space othewise the coupler won't last long and you put to much mechanical stress on the autofucuser. Second, I like to make a chance to win the autofocuser as I don't have one. A lot of things I like to do the DIY way on my telescope, that and enjoying the night sky when imaging is what I love about astrophotography as a hobby. Thanks for the video and the photo. Regards, Rob.

I came to astrophotography from macro photography, and both has a challenge factor, and a learning curve, so it is like a challenge to improve. The other thing motivated me in both, is to see and show the things which might not be visible for people for the first sight, just looking at things normally, the wonderful creation of God, weather it is a tiny insect or spider, that how much detail they have if we take a closer look, that how carefully and wonderfully they are made, or how much more beautiful things we have on the night sky than what we see just by looking up. Both has a thing, that you need to slow down, i mean probably it is a little rush to set up the gear for astrophotography when you decide to take it out last minute, but once all is set up and running, and just to sit down, stare the skies and waiting for the images to roll in, listening the sounds of the summer nights(the sitting down outside next to the rig only works at summer time), the frogs in the distance, some dogs are barking time to time, the crickets are playing their music right next to you but you never see them, being amazed when seeing a shooting star... it is just a wonderful time, i often use it just to thank God for all His blessings.
By the way, it looks cool when you mention the hit the subscribe button, the subscribe button has some animation :D

I thought astronomy would be a great hobby for me, living alone in a trailer at the bottom of a Bortle 4 farm.
Once I started taking phone pics through the eyepiece I was instantly hooked, as visual I found not too rewarding.
I love the fact that by the time I was doing deep-sky astrophotography I was only £500 invested. I love that this can build incrementally over time.
I love that it's even possible to capture distant galaxies with an old DSLR. I love that whilst not up to APOD standards, I get images from this that I love.
I love that I can DIY / improvise on much of the gear required and I love teaching others these things.
On top of all that, I love that I'm also able to do planetary, lunar and wide field milky way astrophotography with my fear and it'll only take a filter to get into solar.
I think I just love astrophotography!
