Is it detrimental to pay credit cards before the statement says I have an amount due? I tend to pay my main card twice a month just to keep the number from being overwhelming, so it often says statement amount = $0

Having to get on a phone to talk to a Chase representative, be placed on hold, provide my credit card info, confirm my reservation number, and then have to randomly check my statement for a credit is reason enough for me to just book directly with United. There’s very little upside to booking with Chase for United flights.
