Perfect timing, just got an email about spending $3,500 to get 6,300 United miles. Not the greatest return by any means but we had the upcoming non category spend regardless 🤷🏿♂️
Still a win, yes! Depending on where you're spending, make sure to check United's shopping portal and MileagePlusX app. Thanks, for watching! Make sure to subscribe and stay in touch!
I think A LOT of people dont know about stacking. The more I have dug in, the more I have realized it for sure. Im stacking every single purchase now if I can. Great breakdown Lani!
That's awesome, Jon! Yes, I'm sure not many people are aware of stacking as a concept or how to do it. People are still surprised to hear that shopping portals exist lol.
It was better to provide the inclusive information of how to find and build stacks that could pertain to anyone's setup. I did consider that, but as you could assume, my specific examples are based on my experiences whereas everyone do not use the same cards or partners that I do. If you watch my United: Before You Apply video, I go deep into those specific stacks, but you have to use United. Which is why I formatted the video this way. As for the examples I mentioned (grocery stores, shopping portals, websites, etc.) they are available via almost every setup. i.e. American, Delta both have shopping portals. Almost every issuer has a grocery card. Thanks for the comment
This was as I like to say.. Pura Candela!! My Brother, I was literally on the apps etc as I was watching the video and taking notes. My sister wants me to explain to her the 9x United deal Tariq mentioned during the live tonight. She was like .. “wow! wtf” 🤣
You need to make a video about special problem a lot of people probably have: “My wife doesn’t understand the credit card game or want to put effort in it. What is the best setup for her in that case?” 😉
I’m still relatively new to the credit card game, so this may be a simple question. 4:03 You mentioned buying gift cards, is that a sort of grey area? I’ve seen some people mention it, but others saying to be wary and even avoid doing that. Is it against the rules for some issuers?
Good question. Its a level of abuse problem. If you buy a few gift cards for yourself or as gifts for your niece's birthday, no one will look twice. But if you're buying $1000 in gift cards every month it, it may raise red flags with the CC issuer. As who spends $1K a week on groceries. I've never had an issue or complaint from an issuer with it, and do not know anyone else that has either. And I know many other creators who do this more than I do.
Lani hope all is well with you I have a question what does it mean when Amex take some of your CL down on all of your cards . Reduce your CL on cards ..is this a Bad thing
Not necessarily a bad thing as Amex cards are charged cards vs. credit cards. Even tho there is not set limit, there is still "kinda" a limit. But this should not affect you in a broader sense
There is no fee to buy a 1P gift card from a grocery store or e-gift card app. That would only apply to credit card/gift cards. I was not referring to those.
Once logged into your Avis account, its under 'REWARDS', select edit and change the rewards to one of their partners. In this case, United, then add your MileagePlus account number. Thanks for watching! Make sure to subscribe and stay in touch. More hacks like this is on the way!

Oh this would be a great video idea!!

Well doesn't the fee on the gift card reduce or even eliminate the benefit of buying it for the bonus points and then using it elsewhere?

You can also earn American Airline miles when you get gas at Shell Gas Stations
That's pretty Savvy & No-Effort!
Hi Lani 😏
