But trust me, farming to produce is work every minute of your entire life and you earn much less. I don't think it's a coincidence that 'aesthetics' boomed suddenly in 2020 and later - I think it's hard, particularly for younger adults and teenagers, to have a sense of identity when so much of your life is spent indoors in your house - hell, even prior to social media, that was the time for experimenting and not really knowing 'who you were' so to speak. Covid 19, the subsequent lockdowns, and the further erasure of public spaces to hang out with other people (not in all places, but many) has done a lot of damage in that respect

As an Autistic transmasc guy, self-maintenance, self-care and self-acceptance/love/any term (you personally use for yourself) looks like this to me: - talking to a therapist intern - letting myself feel my emotions while ruminating memories of mistakes I've done and am not proud of while trying to give myself a hug (because one can hold themself accountable while still learning how to forgive themself because self-acceptance and self-forgiveness is a fluid thing that's goong to fluctuate every moment and every day) - reading fanfiction that keeps me grounded in myself and to help me process (non-verbally and to myself) difficult shit I worry about and need to realise and hear - playing something to help me distract myself from intrusive thoughts that mainly originate from both intrnalised transphobia and internalised bigotries (i.e., racism, antisemitism, ableism) - doing journalling on and off - talking to trusted people (chosen family and friends) about what I've been feeling, but still being selective with what I am comfortable telling them and what I don't want to tell them as I am both honest and secretive in my own ways - doing shit to physically help me even when it's mentally and emotionally taxing, and even when I feel constrained within myself - doing listening therapy to help with emotional regulation (as I need help with emotional regulation and I need external support plus reassurance to help supply internal reassurance) - playing music I like (can be on my dysphoria and euphoria playlist on Spotify)

I think I found a new favourite youtubechannel 😉 first of all, I'm from Germany, so maybe you find some mistakes in the text 🫣 long time ago I watched lots of restockvideos and thought that it would be nice to have a fridge like the fridges on TikTok and RUclips. But these boxes are so expensive... round about 25€ per box. Luckily I found a solution which is definitely not so expensive. Tupperware is a big thing here in Germany, you can buy it everywhere. So I choose Tupperwareboxes for my Vegetable drawer (is it the right word? Idk 😅). The Tupperwareboxes costs less then one box from the restock videos 😂 but I have only five boxes, not as much as the content creator. Lets be honest, nobody needs a fridge filled with boxes. It looks aesthetic, but you dont have enough space for a cake, leftovers and things like that. Greetings from Germany!

I’m a GenX Mom that has kids aged from 31 years old to 11 years old. My husband and I have raised our kids in the same manner throughout. My husband and I are both very much book lovers and have been reading to and with our children from conception. We have gone to all the libraries and all the library reading programs. We read everything, every day. We have implemented No technology days for the whole family. We have books lining our walls and at least four 8 foot tall bookshelves in our house fill ed with books The piles of books are ridiculously large everywhere. We have had family book clubs. And my Gen Alpha kid has struggled to read and comprehend the whole time. We have had her evaluated for dyslexia, vision, hearing, you name it. Her siblings, her aunties, her bookworm friends…we ALL have been trying to help her. We have done all the things! We homeschool her now BECAUSE of the struggles she has had with reading comprehension. I’m starting to think that something in the air has changed and THIS generation has some evolutionary thing going on that has them already predisposed to technological addictions. Now I will say that she is improving since we started homeschooling her. And she does LOVE to read GRAPHIC novels and Manga so yes there is a correlation to visual stimuli and story. But it’s interesting because we have never been the iPad parents. We have always been the limited technology parents. Not that we’re not embracing technology at all but we’re still doing what we’ve always done with all the kids. And wow if we are not still battling with what everyone else is seeing.

YES, Mental Health sessions should be required before plastic surgery because it is usually much more about a mental health issue given to women by society and unethical capitalism and corporations, about body dysmorphia, and all these societal and corporate systems are being predatory with girls and women, creating unachievable expectations for how we are supposed to look that is actually plastic and not like real faces like we saw in the 90s. It’s entirely a cash grab that is taking advantage of women by giving them more and more insecurities by picking every single aspect of their bodies apart and we need to wake up to the fact that this is happening and resist! Just because you’re poor doesn’t mean you can’t take care of your own teeth. I grew up in poverty and we still knew how to brush, floss, and use mouth wash. So blaming the cost of dental care on why folks have raggedy teeth is ludicrous. You maybe can’t afford braces but sometimes it’s your own fault those teeth are rotten. Getting a COSMETIC procedure done by an unlicensed person practicing medicine makes you an idiot. It’s not like it was a life or death situation. Gotta stop making excuses for people.

Many of these women must be living very sad meaningless lives to think their self-worth and self-identity depend on how many people in society especially the wealth-hoarding billionares profiting off of it's wage-slaves they can please and impress especially by obsessing over looks and trends and money. It's a fricking privilege to be consciously and unconsciously growing a unique self-identity over time outside of just how you present yourself to other people because no one should have to be perfectly available 24/7 and instead focus on introspection and self-growth.

Weird how I’ve never experienced the treadmill effect 🤔🤔 when I receive a blessing from God/Universe I will enjoy it and cherish it till the day I die, even if I’m alive and it’s no longer with me, I will appreciate and hold the memories dear to my heart forever. There are people who don’t have even 1/4 of what modern society strives for. it’s up to the individual to continue to be thankful for each and every blessing.

Looking at those fur coats makes me want to go out and buy a big ol' can of red paint. Consider - the glorification of busy has reached a new level

I don’t wear any makeup (only use Carmex for my lips) or have a skincare routine. I wash my face with my body wash and only put on lotion on my arms and legs. I don’t understand buying 100s of dollars for products that don’t seem to do much.

Look. I understand that im a highschool drop out and the reason I am attending a college is to be in the adukt 12 program to finish my grade 12 and get the credits I need to progress into post secondary. One of my required classes is Chemistry. I love chemistry. Theres a reason I want to go into pharmacutics. I see these cleaning tik toks and weep, because they have the potential to KILL SOMEONE.

Maybe, just maybe, this is what happens when you're born into a world that's falling apart. Why try when you may not even live til next year? A lot of us millennials suffered major depression that affected our school work and learning. I have to imagine that worsended with Gen Z. The only Gen Alpha I personally know is autistic and has dyslexia, so I don't have a read on the average one.

The stupid thing with those herb containers is that you put the herbs from a sealed packet, which keeps them fresh for a long time, into a larger bottle, exposing them to the air, reducing the shelf life

To stop a kid from ever feeling overstimulation is also stopping them from ever learning how to cope with the overstimulation using coping skills and meditation or anything else healthy that genuinely helps. These parents are basically preventing their kids from learning how to calm themselves down by not having them experience emotions ever. That is not the solution to overstimulation. And it's worth mentioning, kids don't feel overstimulated from colorful toys because they actually like those things. We can't take care of children the way we take care of ourselves because children have completely different brains from us. I wish "beige moms" understood that they're harming their children through these aesthetics.
