I agree with you, those who blame others for their doings are irresponsible. I watched many channels talking about fragrances but never felt a pressure to buy perfumes. The reason those people were watching such channels is just to buy new fragrances. And they got an idea what else to buy... So, why blame others??? My husband drinks coffee and some alcoholic beverages, but I don't drink all that and I don't feel any pressure to do so. I have a need to buy perfumes, although I've got plenty already. But maybe 90% of my collection is sealed and I will sell it in the future because it's a very good investment. I don't buy niche fragrances.

Thank you for sharing. My budget is similar to yours. I allocate $50 per pay period for perfume. I do not purchase niche brands. I have been finding great deals at the discount stores.

I love Bora Bora and the bottle I bought has really good lasting power on me. I really enjoy it in Summer.

Good video! The amount I spent this year for perfume is 63 euros for Xerjoff La Tosca, out of which 8 euros I had as credit on the site I used so basically I spent 55 euros.. and all that because I have an 7 month old. Otherwise it probably would be much more 😊😊

I think I’ve spent around 1,600 so far this year on perfume. I’ve made about $400 reselling but that’s not enough to justify my spending. I bought some pricey high quality vintage fragrances I wanted mostly on eBay. It’s a wake up call to total it all up though. I need to stop buying and focus on selling my Mercari listings.

I think You Tube in general is unhealthy, most of social media and TV, etc. I've become addicted to watching You Tube videos, TV...and social media in general. It's really my only addiction.

I applaud you for sticking to your budget. It takes a lot of discipline to do so. I also really like that you are educating others on how to manage personal finance while still enjoying a potentially expensive hobby. I also really like how you teach others how to find affordable options, and promote sustainability by enjoying things that are already here rather than running off into new things all the time. I also like some of those who are "whistle blowing" on reviewers that promote excessive consumption and trying to wake viewers out of the trance of FOMO. They are trying to help people by encouraging them to look at what is going on and paying attention to how much they are spending on their hobbies. There are as many people talking about how their obsession with beauty products ruined them financially - that it's like an addiction - and that some influencers do prey on that, some profit from it. We know that something is not right here. We wouldn't be seeing these types of videos if everything was rainbows and unicorns. Viewers do need to take responsibility for their scrolling and spending, and, social media is very powerful and influencers should be more aware of how their actions may be negatively affecting others. It's a two-way street. Two thumbs up for the video! I would love to hear how others spend their money on perfumes and how they afford their big bougie collections because I'm curious too. I often wonder what these people do besides social media, do they have full time jobs, are they trust fund babies??? Especially the younger ladies, I just wonder what their financial situations are - I'd like some reality and authenticity please. I don't care if it sounds rude :)

Welp, you caused me to look at my perfume purchases for the past year. Which is good! So, while I will not disclose details as much as you did. I calculated my average per bottle cost it came out to 21.$ per bottle which to me is very low. I do not buy high end perfumes. However, when I take out all the fragrances that I really don’t like it’s more like 31$ a bottle . What does this tell me for myself? I have about 40 fragrances I really like and about 20 that I need to donate. Does that math add up? I don’t know 😆 Thank you for showing us the break down and commentary, I’m nosey too!

Wowww!! This was fantastic! I am impressed by all of your smart money management and great advice! You've gotten a lot of great stuff for the budget you've spent and just imagine if you were using that same budget to go to Sephora. I mean, you'd be getting like ten perfumes for the same budget! Yeah I'm super careful with money too. I can stretch a buck pretty far so I appreciate everything you've said here. Since my husband and I both work from home at our own small business and do project work, meaning we sometimes have a great paying project, but then for months we'll have smaller paying projects, we have to save just to be sure that we will be able to cover the slimmer months so I feel ya with saving and being very careful with money! Cuz if the money's gone the electric company won't take perfume for payment. LOL!!🤣😂🤣 Another thing I don't do anymore is use credit cards for any non-essential spending. I only buy what I have cash for at the time. Credit cards can lull you into that, "oh it's only a hundred dollars and I deserve to have the things I want in life..." sort of feeling and it's too easy to lose track of spending. I love a common sense attitude. I don't know what it's like in USA schools but finances aren't really part of the curriculum in the UK and I really think it should be. I certainly could have benefitted from it.

If they say “money’s not real” then they don’t work with CAHS, and it’s all credit cards. This is how people become indebted for life. And I was one. But with Dave Ramsey, in 6.5 years, on a gross yearly income that went from $42k to $52k, and bringing two children into the world - my husband and I paid off $115k in debt (not including a mortgage). Then in November 2021 we bought a new home, and are on track to pay it off within another 3 years... this fall his income will just crest $60k! None of that is a brag (although I am proud of our work) - I, like you, am passionate about persona finance now, and I know just about everyone can fix the mess they’re in. And even being a modest-income family, I get some money to play around with each month. My husband and I each get $50/month. A goal that I really want is to save it for a few months and splurge on an expensive scent. But then again I love cheapies, and dupe houses like Julianna’s and Oil Perfumery. Love your channel. Oh - and I’ve heard that SJP Stash Privé is a dupe (dupe’ish?) of Chanel Chance eau tondre (sp,?).

I remember Tatiana from late 70s through early 80’s. I had a little purse sized bottle I’d carry around with me in junior high. I used to rotate between that, Enjoli, Jontu, Jovan Musk, and Pavlova. I thought I was IT with my perfumes and feathered hair 😂😂😂

If you like the Guess perfumes I think you’d really like the original Guess Dare. The main note is Kumquat, which is a different twist on citrus which gives it an almost effervescent sparkling-wine type vibe, along with cactus, lemon and pear blossom. I’ve not smelled anything quite like it, and it’s dirt cheap. You can score a giant 3.4oz bottle for like 18-20 bucks! Also the Seductive line is great, affordable as well. Seductive Red, Noir, and Flirt are all great. They smell much more expensive.

So fun to see your finds! I bought the full size Charlie at Walgreens near me a couple months ago. They were asking way too much, like 25$ which is a lot for Charlie stuff, but I never ever see the original anywhere either so I went for it. Not as good as it used to be to be. A little heavier on the oak moss I think. For me I still like it as the Charlie blue is too strong for me. 🤗

16:08 Omg- that is hilarious, lol. 🤣When I was thirteen, I had a friend sleep over and we were both really into manga/comics. I had this series that she did not have titled Peach Girl and being the little biatch that I apparently was, refused to let her read it. I was like, gatekeeping these books, lol. Anyways, she read them all while I was asleep and told me the next day and man, was I pissed!! That particular series was unironically about jealousy. They had these editor notes in the back and places to send fan mail and I remember writing to them expressing my anger and comparing my friend to the conniving, jealous villain from the series. They actually wrote me back saying that everything would be ok and gifted me a free book, lol. What a nerd.

I also went into the Le Labo store and really liked their Lily perfume (Lys somenumber) . It smells like a humid funeral in the tropics (big dusty lily surrounded by tropical florals)- Loved it. Of course I can’t convince myself to spend that much on a bottle.

Love Passion too!! I have both the women’s and men’s version and adore both. It’s one of the only fragrances that transports me somewhere else. I spray it on and my heart pounds… more relaxing than a cigarette.😂

And when I worked as a rotator/rep for Oscar de la Renta, we gave away those tiny perfumes as gifts with purchase! I don't have access to anything like Goodwill auctions here in Canada so I'm jealous of you but I still get to live vicariously through your amazing hauls! Sorry you have had those harsh experiences with some of those Goodwill shoppers. You would think that they would have some GOOD WILL. Ha ha. I've read that Blue Grass is like Je Reviens but with lavender. So curious about these older perfumes... Alot of what I seem to enjoy came out in the 70's & early 80's. I love aldyhedic fragrances. Never got to experience many different scents except for Avon because I grew up rural, in a mountain town...

To my nose, Pure Grace is the perfect ivory soap. It's my #1. Go through bottles of it like water. Been on a hunt for similar scents for awhile now but nothing tops it. I love that you review affordable scents. I have 3 teenage boys & don't buy $300 perfumes. That's a trip to the grocery store. 😂

Does your Sparkling White Diamonds smell like it's turned a little on first spray? It smells alright after dry down but the initial blast is gross. Think I got sold an old bottle. It was new and sealed but still. :/

This concept dos not exist in canada, the supposed thrift stores here are price gouging so it's more expensive than actual stores, not joking. They mark up when there isnatill the tag from the dollar store for less.. and perfumes would be researched and priced rigorously unlike this style of lots, I'm green with envy for that part of usa retail

I just ordered from divain last night and they have great prices on discontinued reformulations. I picked up Narcisso Rodriguez, Essence & Byredo Blanche. Really want to try Rive Gauche or Ivoire. Have you tried them???? Also want to try True Love and Fidji edt.

Oh, I’m really enjoying your videos! I just had a couple of comments to what you firstly if you want to try more gas perfumes and you haven’t tried seductive red yet I would try. It’s really nice and as far as Victoria’s Secret and noir are also really good in my humble opinion anyway I really appreciate that you can show self-control at the bins when someone grabbed the toy out of his hands. I think I would’ve lost my you know what, anyway I gotta start looking at Goodwill auctions to see what I can pick up and the arrow post all that you snagged I have a bottle of and I love it!
