My Grandma's favorite perfume is Youth Dew and it.smells lovely on her, like a deep amber vanilla scent with hints of spice. However on me it smells like cat pee and most spicy and/or vintage perfumes. I've always wondered whats in them.that does that. Its funny how body chemistry affects fragrance. Anyhow, very interesting about warm weather spices and American scent profiles. Definitely will be on the lookout for books on the spice trade.
I noticed a few fragrances that bloom in heat despite the spicy notes. Both jimmychoo jimmychoo and alexandre j the majestic are totally amazing in heat. jimmychoo is chocolate and patchouli, which makes no sense. but they are delicious. in cold these perfumes are flat and lifeless on me.
