this one was a walk down memory lane for me! i grew up in the central valley but my mom/her dad's family were born in SF so we visited a lot. when we'd visit, my mom and i would go to body time so i had some perfumes/body products in high school, but i can't remember which. then i moved to SF in 1999 in my 20s. i didn't go as much and was sad when they eventually closed. anyway, thanks for talking about them. also, in the past year or two, i realized that i really love a lot of alberto morillas' work, he has some really interesting stuff!

2000's I wore Avon, Karmala and Mark, Pure. I miss them both so much. I've found dupes but they aren't exact...

Gap Grass was my favorite 90’s fragrance! Sadly, it’s been reformulated and watered down to nothing.

I hear about that one a lot. I wish I could remember it!

I’m not very good at describing perfume but it literally smelt like a just cut lawn - I loved it - had a little travel size when I was around 12 years old - it was prob my first perfume

I love how you talk about fragrances. Fragrance is so personal. I actually love Coco Mademoiselle. I bought a small bottle when it first came out. We’re similar in age. I’m a few years older. I think I have fond memories of Coco Mad because I was finally earning enough money to buy an expensive “Chanel” perfume and it just felt like a status statement. In recent years I’ve realized that when I smell it now, it evokes the scent of loose leaf black or oolong tea. I guess the combination of certain ingredients somehow gives that effect to my nose.

I really wish I still had it! I bought it when I got my first real job. Thanks for commenting!

If you want a grown up version of Fantasy, try English Laundry Signature.

I don't drink alcohol anymore but when I did gin & tonic was my tipple. I'm in the UK so Demeter's not readily available but I'll definitely try and sample their g&t; Jo Malone's Earl Grey and Cucumber is supposed to be about English afternoon tea but I get Bombay gin & tonic with a slice of lemon

I’ll have to check out that Jo Malone. My Gin and Tonic days are behind me as well.

Hairy armpits and bongo drums-I think I'll skip that one.🤣My early 2000 fragrance was something from Escada and something from Mary Kay. But I was like you, a mom and very busy. I was happy with BBW and my Victoria's Secret Rapture perfume. I feel like Unisex fragrances had a stronghold in the early 2000s.

Alberto Morillas created the Omnia line and it’s the perfect fresh floral line! I can’t remember what I wore back then! 😅

Have you tried Lush Violet perfumes? That's the first thing that sprang to mind when you said dusty violet! V is a fabulous violrt, ylang and cedar and kerbside violet has a sort of pavement scent in there! American cream has a powdered sugar and violet scent but also has lavender, iris and rose so it's not entirely violet and it's super sweet. Love it though!

Thanks for this video. Powdery Hawthorne is one of my favorites from Dossier. If you want to try the OG, sadly, it has been discontinued. :( Also, how do the aldehydes in this one compare to Chanel No 5. If you like one, would you like the other?
I was wondering if you have a video on discontinued fragrances that you own (not reformulated). I really miss the perfumes of my youth, such as Ambush (the 90s reformulation), Tribe, New West, and Malibu Musk. Oh, and Victoria Secret Tranquil Breeze. All of these take me back to being a kid.

Viva La juicy is gross. Way too sweet. I tried J-lo, glow and I got no ivory soap at all. It smells like a meth lab. 😂
