I just can't make up my mind, the Speed 400 or the Speed Twin 900. I have watched many You Tube videos on both and know the 400 will do everything I want, but if my wife is able to ride with me again it might be a bit cramped for two up. Whereas the 900 is a bit roomier, plus the 900 has a great exhaist note.. My wife and I have rode about 350,000 miles on bikes and camped out in a 7X7 pup tent along our way. But my wife has battled cancer eight times, had 12 surgeries, maxed out on chemo, radiation and cyber knife treatments.. She is currently on Immunotheraoy treatments and will be every 28 days for the rest of her life. We went to trikes after the cancer in her brain (she had six places in her brain) caused her to have seizures. But after her brain surgery she has had no more seizures so I am wanting to get back to two wheels. I know I need to go to my Triumph dealer and test drive both, but what is your opinion? The Speed 400 for five grand, or the Speed Twin 900 for ten grand? Should I be a tightwad and go for the 400 and probably be very happy with it, or dig a little deeper and go for the 900 and probably have more bike than I really need?

I've just swapped a BMW for a GT pro. A completely different animal to my old bike, but loving it at the moment. You know you've bought the right bike when your son test rides it and comes back with a big cheesy grin when he brings it back. He really liked it too, and he has previously owned two GSAs.

Sounds like with this triple not aiming for maximum top-end power, it's like an older superbike. Something like the 02/03 R1, which had a flatter torque curve. The superbikes today are much more peaky and track focused. Most owners won't be getting the good of their modern superbikes on the road. This having that flatter torque curve by being a triple along with over 20 years engineering advancements... I think it will feel more like a hugely improved older superbike than one of the track focused models today. And that's a good thing!

Nice bike but it should be higher. It’s so low that when you are riding through a traffic jam, you cannot look above the cars. Too bad cause I liked the bike till I saw it in real life.

Thanks for a great review. Test rode one yesterday. In my late 60's with dodgy knees so heavy or supersports with high pegs,low bars are history for me. Its perfect for my needs. Bought one on the spot. Delivery next week once personal plate taken off my trade in . Cant wait. Cheers

I have 2020 Rocket GT love it so much i didnt pull the trigger to buy the storm because there not much difference beteween the two for a power increase i can ECU flash it and it will make more power than the Storm , love the all black look but i will keep mine for now i have 20,000 km so far and still smile when i ride it. Ride safe mate.

I've had my blue Speed 400 since April, and so far just added a windshield to it. I absolutely love it! It has plenty of power, and I tend to rip through curvy mountain roads in Vermont, USA with it. It's light and nimble- and I even rode two-up with my 110lb wife on the back and it was just fine. My older and heavy 750 cruiser isn't any faster. My BMW GS is more comfy, heavy and sluggish- but the Speed 400 reminds me of being a kid and riding a BMX bike.

Hello, great bike many thanks for the video. Do you know why 2022 tiger 850 sport has a weird noise when you go 6.speed 110kmh - 120kmh constant speed on motorway? She is only at 6k km.

The honda grom is honestly way more reliable but this is a little better ride. In all honesty though the honda grom doesn't need any kit or anything done to it so id say it's better off the lot.

I just wish'd Honda would give it an extra cylinder and turn it into a 250cc vtwin. Change nothing else about it but that, the bike looks like it would have the space to do that.

I like your road test assessment. I have a 2023 orange tank 1200 Speed Twin and love it. I also have a new Ducati V4 Diavel I use for touring. I agree with you about the seat. I had a gel insert put in my seat and didn't change the contour enough so could retain the original seat cover. I suggest that change well worth doing. I’ve had the 24 RP for a couple of weeks and love it. However, the heat pouring onto my legs is a big issue which makes riding quite uncomfortable at times. A $2 piece of plastic diverting the hot air away from your legs could probably have solved this issue. Thumbs down to Triumph for not addressing this. It should be noted that I’m in a warmer climate so it probably affects me more than someone in your neck of the woods. But it’s really frustrating and disappointing that Triumph has not sorted this issue which has plagued previous models. Aside from having my legs roasted, I love the bike.

Great review! You have addressed most of the important issues. The engine rumble under acceleration sounds very unique but seems quite discrete when cruising. The comfort is also a big plus for those wanting a cruiser.

My 2024 GT Pro is my 4th Tiger - I've loved all of them. However ... I'm noticing some issues with the electronics and I'm wondering if anyone else is having these same issues. #1 - My TPMS shows false warnings (both tires / separately) - For example, I set out on a ride last Saturday and the TPMS indicated that my front tire was at 22 psi. I stopped immediately, and manually checked the pressure (it was fine). The monitoring system then reset itself and showed the proper PSI. This has happened a number of times on each ride. I'm open to suggestions - I'm visiting the dealership soon and will ask them too. #2 - When I connect my phone via the onboard blue tooth connection - when I try and adjust the volume of the music I'm playing, the music stops and I then have to reset the connection for it to start again. I'm open to the idea that this might be user error (somehow) or due to me having an older phone (Galaxy s10e), but it's frustrating. The two issues make me wonder if there's a problem in the electronics. Anyone else have such issues?

Approaching the 600 mile service and all you have said describes the bike exactly! Showing 75 mpg so far as I break the engine in which is unstressed and has reams of roll-on torque. 😊

haha near to Kirkintilloch were I am from, should have taken her up the Crow road, past the Carron reservoir and down the tak me doon road into Kilsyth and back again, that entire section of road has been renewed because of the world cycling event, its immense, really great review, bike sounds amazing.

40 bikes owned in the past but the 850 has given me the biggest smile. 👌

Test road one recently. Handling is great. Hoewever, that t-plane crank chucks out lots of vibes at different points in the rev range. Triumph seem to have solved the vibes in the handlebars, but the ones in the foot peg are not good. Also the tank experiences some vibration which i have never seen before in a bike.

Couldn't agree more! My brother and I rode the new 900 Rally Pro and previous iteration of the 1200 Rally Pro, swapping bikes a couple of times 'mid flight' to get an instant like-for-like comparison. Although we both preferred the slightly better comfort of the 1200, we would both opt for the 900. Really wanted to love the 1200, as it's a lot more bike for a lot less money (now at least) but as an all rounder the 900 wins. I found the screen on the 1200 to be naff too, even though it's bigger than the one on the 900. The screen on my Tiger 800 isn't the best but it certainly beats that on the 1200. I can flat foot the 1200 too, even with the seat on its high setting, so no issues there. So there you go, a lot of folding, but the 900 Rally pro has it all 🙂

I thought I spoke English until I watched this video 😂. Excellent production value though. Really cool. I’d like the speed master but it seemed too small for a bigger guy. Still like it though. Love triumph.
