Great video. Down to earth, realistic assessment. No need for mega power on today’s roads, just great handling and flick ability . This bike will be a winner. Always love the Scottish accent… being a Geordie I’m half way there. Thanks. 😂
I agree with your assessment 100%. I owned the original 2006 Daytona 675 in Tornado Red and it was by far the best looking motorcycle I have ever owned. The looks of the motorcycle was the main reason I bought it. With that being said....it was the most uncomfortable motorcycle I have ever owned. The seat was hard, the under-tail exhaust fried my legs in the summertime and the riding position was really hard on my wrists. I could ride it for about an hour without pain and that was it. I do like the new version. It looks really good and solved all of the issues I had with the original. There are plenty of other options out there if you are looking for a street legal race bike. This bike will sell just fine and it's a great option if your looking for something that looks great, has an amazing engine, and is easy to ride for long distances. This one is a total winner in my opinion.
I love the look of this bike as a Daytona owner (600 and 765 Moto 2), I can say that this is definitely a Daytona. It is the business and one for every person who wants a sports bike that you can ride all day (which the 765 Moto 2 is not... 😉). Good review... When are you going to ride it? 😊
Thanks Mark, we should be getting our demo on the road in the next couple of weeks, hit the notification bell and you won't miss the road ride/review. Cheers Si
I've ordered one in white. I can't wait to receive it. Great first look review. BTW I'm "downsizing" from T120 and I was missing going to the track with my bike, but I did not want to compromise on comfort.
A good preview Si , This bike is going to be a winner , Triumph aren't daft . Engine spec is great , chassis maybe could be upgraded but that's a personal choice . I bet it will suit most people the way it is . Like it's Tiger and Trident brothers ,the paint could be jazzed up a tiny bit IMHO . In Canada the price looks very competitive . Not a bike for me though , I'm a big guy and don't bend easily for clipons and rearsets these days . I love my Tiger 660 too much anyways . But I AM waiting for that much rumoured Tiger 660 GT and Rally , so when are they coming ? Go on you can tell me , I won't spill the beans , I promise .
Cheers bro, hey I haven't been told anything yet about the Tiger 660 GT or Rally, didn't even know there was talk of these bikes coming lol, I am so out of touch lol
Hi, been in the showroom a few weeks back looking at getting a new bike, but need to compromise as the misses wants to come along every now and then when I'm out on the bike, had two triumphs in the past and just love the quality, value your opinion on short list of what to buy. Cheers
I’ve got a 2018 CBR650f and have a deposit on the new Daytona. I’m hoping there’s quite a difference between the two. I’m 38, been riding 14 years but I want a comfy looking sports bike I can thrash and not be scared of.
It's a lovely looking bike, had chance to have an early look at Hinckley. Certainly less extreme riding position than the old 675 Daytona. Yep, plenty think it's not a proper Daytona but it's going sell well against the likes of the R7 and GSX8 'soft' midrange competition.
Nice little vid. Looks nice. Ironic that the white is the nicest & cheapest colour. For me it's between this & the GSX8R. I think this looks better & is sportier as well as the novelty of being a triple. Plus it about 12 more bhp than the Suzuki. However, it also has approx. 6 lbs/ft less torque & the low down grunt & midrange of the Suzuki is an appealing prospect on the road. Will be very interesting to see a comparison/ group test as they have very similar weight, the same suspension & comparable brakes but ultimately go about their business in very different ways. Can't go too far wrong with either I imagine.
I can relate to your point of view. I've put the deposit down on Daytona sight unseen. My deciding factors that drew me to Daytona are: I've already bought my current bike form local Triumph dealer and I've had great experience ; I prefer triple cylinder sound over any twin.
Belter video tbh… don’t care about people’s opinion on if it’s a Daytona or not. Really personable way of sharing the info and yeah, I still want one 😂 Cheers for the video
Looks good Si. Can't wait to take the demo out myself for a review. Interestingly, given the bodywork it's only 13kg heavier than the 765RS. It's going to sell well as comfort sport bike! 😎👍
I totally agree mate its a great looking bike in the flesh and apparently there's a race kit from Peter Hickman racing coming as an off the shelf Triumph accessory :)
@@simotofoto oh really!? That will be good, be interesting to see what horses that unleashes! I'm guessing prob a brake upgrade, bi directional quick shifter, rear sets? Something like that? Its an interesting tipping point in the market really as its got more punch than the Gsx8r and a gnats whisker more than the cbr650r. Going to be a good year!
@@simotofoto never know until you try! 😂. All will. Be revealed im sure! There were some interesting questions in their most recent customer survey anyway! Exciting times ahead indeed. I've always mostly had triumph or suzuki over the years.
That's what I'm saying, there's tons of videos of people sitting next to the bike but they don't turn it on. My local dealer is getting one this month and I'm thinking of making a video to show off the exhaust. I might be the first one lol
A 765 Daytona would not meet learner restrictions worldwide and therefore limited sales. Triumph know their stuff, the 660 Daytona would outsell a 765 Daytona massively.
In the USA the speed triple is only a couple hundred away.... ( For a drastically better machine from the same company) There is no way these are selling at 9300 USD.
I hoped it would be something special. It just isn’t 🤷♂️. Just another standard Ninja 650 or CBR650 bike. But more expensive. Non adjustable fork at 10.000€ here in Germany. Display looks cheap. Does it have traction control or cornering ABS? Sorry Triumph. I’ll stick to an RS660 🤷♂️.

Daytona now targets bikes like CBR650r, Ninja650r rather than the previous 675 which used to target cbr 600rr, R6, ZX6r.
The street sport vs the super sport. The times are changing in the bike world…

Good choice it looks amazing in the white :)
I used to own a Street triple 675r in white, and it was a stunning colour, especially in the sunshine. I bet this is the same 😊.
Yeah its exactly the same pearlescent colour

Nice looking bike, keep the content coming loving it 👌
Thank you will try my best to keep the content coming more regularly this year :)
Does look good, a much better seat unit than the tiger sport
Its really comfortable
This is going to sell well.
I'm very tempted.
I hope so lol
Another great video Si. Will I see the bike and you at the Scottish bike show?
Thanks Alexander, I will defo be at the bike show, not sure if we will have a Daytona we are working on it :)

Looking forward to the review on this one. I think the graphic grey looks the best. I wonder whether you could do some touring on this.
Cheers Patrick, will let you know my thoughts on the comfort when I get it out. :)
Ride it! Turn it on!
No keys sadly :( Triumph did not give us the keys as they don't want anyone riding it yet
Lovely looking machine. Einstein's bike - nothing travels faster than the speed of white.
Couldn't agree more!
Nice vid. Thanks 👍🏻
Thanks for watching!
It’s nice 👍🏼 but perhaps miss named?
‘Daytona’ should’ve been reserved for a cutting edge sport bike imo - still it’s quite nice
Which is better in ur opinion Triumph daytona 660 or kawasaki zx-6r
Hey dude ive not. ridden the Kawasaki so wouldn't be qualified to comment, hopefully someone will answer below :)
What’s the top speed of daytona 660?
Not sure dude not ridden it yet :)
Could you please rev the bik.
Does engine whistle like 675
Triumph didn't supply us with the keys unfortunately :(
Why is no1 turning the bike on and letting us hear the engine sound?? Is it banned by triumph as of now??

Please give me one with a 765!!!
