My favourite part about this whole thing is that Dougdoug LITERALLY has a machine called “The Twitch Chat Eliminator” that could have solved most of his issues in a couple of seconds.
iirc it bans them from speaking, no? so they can still watch in silence. maybe not. idk how the bans work in Twitch but i always assumed they just like mute you or smth
Genocide applies to a specific group of people. So people who share some characteristic, not necessarily race. It would be genocide as the "Doug Doug viewer" is a trait they all share.
The absolute best part of this video that isn't mentioned at all is that on this day, Twitch decided to plaster his entire face alongside others for a convention he was attending on its front page, and clicking him on their banner took him to his stream... which simply told you to "please leave." What a day to Twitch.
I love the second the bouncer talked about 'fantasizing' you can literally watch the single moment of worry in Doug's face before it clarifies that it's referring to owning a dinosaur as a pet.
The thing Doug doesn't understand is that closing the restaurant usually does reduce the number of occupants, UNLESS "closing the restaurant" just means locking all of the doors while everyone is still inside.
All tables are full and another group just came in, but instead of politely refusing them, Doug tunred off the light in the entire building and yells at his customers to make place.
@arqip4767He just turns off all the lights and has all the employees go hang out in the backroom while the customers i guess just decide to sit at dark, empty tables
Doug has THE MOST counterintuitive ideas for his streams/videos. From deleting 10 random viewers every so often DURING A CHARITY STREAM, to deleting a video when it reaches 1mill views, to finally this
The video was, apparently, the rest of THIS stream where Doug set it up so the stream would end if viewership went under a certain threshold. He tried several methods to get his viewers to leave (like, actually leave, it wasn't a bit for him): sensory deprivation, sensory overload, leaving chat with only chair, leaving chat with nothing, a black screen with nothing, gaslighting, a fake "stream is over" screen, ACTUALLY LEAVING FOR SEVERAL HOURS. It was posted on the dougdougdoug channel with a "Unus anus" stipulation ("this video will be deleted when it reaches 1mill views)
The best part of this stream was that Doug then made it so the stream would end when the viewers dropped under 10000, and the stream went on for around 6 hours and only ended because Doug kept raiding people
@PunchattackTF2 How dare you insult dougdougoverflow like that. You could have just moved to betterdougdougoverflow but nooo, you had to be hateful to the OG of the backup streams.
@SeanSMST I'm sorry for disrespecting the dougdougoverflow stream 🙏I will never EVER disrespect him again. I have since seen the errors in my ways in the 45 minutes of me posting this hurtful comment. The DougDougoverflow stream is actually very epic as they have cool plants and stuff and I hope to be forgiven for my old ways.
8:28 i love that doug consistently underestimates twitch chat's stubbornness like we didnt sit and watch absolutely nothing for like two hours just for the bit
I find it hilarious that at the end, Doug summarizes his accomplishments, and even then, they're exaggerated. Doug didn't even boil the butter, it was sitting on a pan vaguely near a heat source for 45 minutes.
The flames were hard to see, but that burner WAS on. You can also tell by looking at the dials. On the other hand, he did not at all cook that wing because he did leave the burner off there.
Doug saying “eventually people will leave” just bc it was a black screen for thirty mins is funny to me bc obviously he hasn’t seen RTGames watching paint dry stream video
6:46 thank you editor, I always wonder if someone actually says these chat messages and it's great to see that NO, sometimes there ISN'T anyone saying that.
i caught the last half of this stream while i was delirious with a fever. The ear destruction and fakeout ending of the stream genuinely fucked up my mental for weeks, 10/10 absolute cinema
This video forgets to mention how at the "end" of the stream Doug left the stream running and left, with a code that made it so if the stream didn't have enough viewers it would end (10000 minimum I think). Nobody left, no matter how many things he tried to drive people away, like taking away the music or turning up the volume to the max. At the end after chat held the blank stream going for several hours already Doug rewarded us with a Fortnite stream
honestly this just goes to show the loyalty of doug's viewers. even if the content is literally a blank screen with doug actively screaming at people to leave and go watch a different stream, they'll still stick around and watch. actually, i don't know if that's loyalty or defiance but... it goes to show something.
I like how he has weapons of mass destruction like the Twitch Chat Eliminator, but chooses instead to use his immense charisma to have people leave the restaurant. Doug is truly a hero
The twitch kill bots wouldn't be able to do anything as they only take away chatting privileges they wouldn't be able to prevent people from viewing the stream
There are too many vids that are actually related to this one. I always get the most random recommendations with at most one that's somewhat related to what I just watched
This was my first stream that I was properly there for! I didn't get in before 8000, but stayed for quite a while. I told my younger brother what was happening and he opened up the stream, only to leave it on and not watch it to "take up seats". No matter how hard I tried to convince him to stop, it was to no avail. I left when Doug got all of A Crew to leave, then returned after the 5 minutes that Doug specified. Finally, I left all together when the Bouncer told anyone who'd ever fantasised about having a pet dinosaur to leave. I stayed true to my word and did not come back for that entire stream (I am unsure of if / when my brother stopped watching). Super glad to have been able to attend a main channel video, and thank you for reminding me about my love for the triceratops.
A sequel to RT's 'watching paint dry' video. Unironically though, this is a really good showcase that the main focus and hook of this channel is the streamer, not the game, which is brilliant.
Well, it is just true. He could read two comments from the same person hours apart and have no idea they were the same person due to just how many other people there are spamming messages.
For anyone who wasn‘t there, after this Doug decided to do a challenge where he would end the stream if it‘s viewership went under 10K at any point. To ensure he could do this, he put chat through multiple tribulations, like: chair, stimulation overload, „stream offline“ card thingy, playing one round of Fortnite, and even mass raids on other channels (which was supposed to be his way out to finally end the stream while technically abiding by the rule), and after all that failed I think he ended the stream manually, but I don‘t quite remember…
I was there, I held the line... And I was there when he CHEATED to break it... The Raid Incident we called it, and the bards of the line wrote many a song about it. Ahh the memories of the line, how thick it was, how unbreakable it was and how Diablo The Cheater destroyed it, destroyed us. I hope the songs of the legends will continue to sing the tales into the future...
___________________ I got there near the end of phase two. I counted down from 500 bottles of beer, through silence and through sound, all the while holding the line. I believe it took 1 hour and 5 minutes?
@SmallerRedTomato As a fellow devout believer in the line, I salute your efforts. It was a great effort and a wonderful cause, and I appreciate you, soldier. O7 __________

Why are the animations so good? The expressions, the principles folllowed, and just how smooth it is. Who made this? Did someone move to the dougdoug team?
something i love is how the editors "personify" twitch chat, they've been doing that in recent vids and here too in 1:586:316:476:518:5610:5911:4312:2412:5917:12 these are so cute omg 😭 i need to know which editor did these cuz I've been seeing them in recent vids and i love them
@CyVoltage hey, editor. hope doug has saved you a spot in the restaurant for all your hard work! it's a shame there was no room to cook for any longer than two minutes during the stream, but let's hope that's not a typical business day
it's funny how Doug wasn't able to play the actual objective for the whole stream, only being able to at like the end of the stream it's funny how there was also alternative twitch accounts live streaming the stream itself so more people could watch it
The editing on this video was amazing, legit the best video on this channel in terms of pure editing. Also the first time in a long time I was fooled by the fake RUclips ending.
I used to live down the street from the ACTUAL diner that Doug’s editors added to the video as the “Dog Diner” (it’s called the Modern Diner in Rhode Island) and let me say, the crowding there DOES ruin it for everyone. Thank you Doug.
That's sick as hell, I'm the editor for this video, I listened to a 20 minute Podcast about the Modern Diner while photoshoping it to say "Dog Diner" and animating the windows to shut down
@CyVoltage NO WAY!! Who’s podcast? I’d love to give it a listen. Either way thanks for slipping my little corner of America into a DougDoug video, I gotta say my brain lit up like a Christmas tree when I saw it. Ironically enough there is literally always a line out the door, so in a way it felt VERY tongue and cheek
Doug not realising that a screen with nothing happening will attract more viewers than actual content, see: paint drying, ice melting, eating water, placid plastic ducks.
...I'm... genuinely envious of Doug & his community. It's wholesome & heartwarming. ^__^ No, seriously. I've been watching DougDoug for a while now & it's literally impossible to watch w/o laughing hysterically. 😂
Doug: *has multiple AI programs that can select chatters to give them one on one attention* Also Doug: We need to cull the herd a bit to make things more personalized.
I remember going on this stream, but read the title and left so people can join really early during the stream. I didn’t know all the chaos that happened until the next stream, where I learned that apparently, around 10,000 stayed overnight! Those brave souls really held the line!!!
Some people say there are still some chatters holding the line to this day. A line so sacred and beautiful it isn't even mentioned in this video, and the video it was mentioned in has been deleted. Don't let Doug win. Never forget the line ✊
the fake end card was so realistic it actually got me you better give the editor a raise on this one because this has some of the best, craziest editing on the dougdoug channel
@gryban_tolistobLikely given a lot of time to bake, chat mentions it being summer and the vid released in December, plus this was apparently his biggest stream so there may have been a higher standard for it. Or the editor just did this on a whim, idk.
@Bredstikc Hi, me editor. To pull back the curtain a bit on this one: Doug had me work on this video specifically because I enjoy working on visuals like this, and boy did this video need visuals of some kind
I was born in northern Ireland and I remember all the stories my dad would tell me about the troubles, whenever a bomb threat would get called into the school Maddox would always show up and use telekinesis to find the bomb and save EVERYONE! what a cool guy
I think a more fun way to do this is there can only be X number of chatters. Maybe 2,000. Every time someone chats, it checks if they are on the whitelist. If they aren't it adds them to the whitelist. Until the whitelist hits 2k. After that, someone chats and they aren't on the whitelist, BAN. Maybe have it so people can remove themselves from the whitelist when they leave. If someone is leaving, then can type GOODBYE into chat, removing themselves from the whitelist. They will no longer be able to chat in the stream after that, and the next person to chat who isn't on the whitelist will take their place.
The editing of this video is REALLY good! Especially this one! Huge kudos to the editor(s?) because these little animations have so much life I love it so much
I remember this stream. There were more than 8,000 people for like half an hour, and he wouldn't start. Edit: I made this comment before watching the video, and didn't think that Doug would include non content in the video. I don't know why I would think that
it was so funny to see Doug only manage to play the game for about 3 minutes. also chat managing to keep the stream at 10k+ viewers for like a day was one of the most impressive things they did. too bad Doug cheated to end the stream. ngl I thought chat would close the stream when Doug started playing Fortnite the next day. this was one of those streams that you had to be there despite not much happening.
The best part was after this ended, he turned it into a minimum. Once less than like 12,000 viewers were there, the stream would end. We. Held. That fucking. Line. For hours!
I'd love to see a sequel to this where literally everything including Doug gets blocked out when the stream is full. So not only are viewers less incentivized to stay (cause literally nothing is happening) it would also create fun situations where Doug has to try and get a message across as fast as he can before getting cut off again.
My favourite part about this whole thing is that Dougdoug LITERALLY has a machine called “The Twitch Chat Eliminator” that could have solved most of his issues in a couple of seconds.
Commiting genocide usually isn't good PR for a restaurant
iirc it bans them from speaking, no? so they can still watch in silence.
maybe not. idk how the bans work in Twitch but i always assumed they just like mute you or smth
@nightowl6055 twitch chat is not a race, so it's not genocide
It only covers the patrons' mouth in duct tape, not kick them out
Genocide applies to a specific group of people. So people who share some characteristic, not necessarily race. It would be genocide as the "Doug Doug viewer" is a trait they all share.
The absolute best part of this video that isn't mentioned at all is that on this day, Twitch decided to plaster his entire face alongside others for a convention he was attending on its front page, and clicking him on their banner took him to his stream...
which simply told you to "please leave."
What a day to Twitch.
Maybe it was intentional
Classic DougDoug stream experience
I had to read this like 3x to make sense of it
@Amirrorofmirrors I'm on my 5th read rn and I'm kinda starting to get what he's saying
@thegiantjj probably because I've seen streamers announce when they will be on the front page of twitch before hand
I love the second the bouncer talked about 'fantasizing' you can literally watch the single moment of worry in Doug's face before it clarifies that it's referring to owning a dinosaur as a pet.
Oh my god, you totally can LMAO. Timeframe is 7:48, for the curious.
he saw his whole channel flash before his eyes
@ocessionaryyevery chatter, every pepper and every parkzer
reading this comment section before watching the video is such an indescribable experience
The thing Doug doesn't understand is that closing the restaurant usually does reduce the number of occupants, UNLESS "closing the restaurant" just means locking all of the doors while everyone is still inside.
A certified case dismissed moment
E
nah its more like instead of closing the restaurant/kicking people out Doug just freezes the whole restaurant while still keeping the entrance open
I'm actually shocked this was made into a video, it was literally an hour of a black screen. I'm not complaining though, this stream was hilarious
I mean, Sundance Pajama Sam exists too and that's also just a black screen
@QuantumMal sundance pajama sam is the greatest piece of cinema ever made
i saw rtgame’s watching paint dry stream i *know* people will just watch nothing happening
@Pixel000 so true so very true it was a masterpiece
@Pixel000 The epitome of "Go king, give us nothing!"
RTGame: peak viewership on a "Watching paint dry" stream
DougDoug: peak viewership on a stream with limited stream capacity
what a life
Tbf watching paint dry has very little watching paint dry
@robertflinch2447No he was actually watching paint dry
@Aurelius_unofficiallarge part of it i think it was watching a paused video of paint drying before realizing it was paused
@anderson8988Salim No, I've checked out the video he watched myself, it's literally a still image and has no change from 0:00:00 to 10:00:00. Scammed.
Doug has THE MOST counterintuitive ideas for his streams/videos. From deleting 10 random viewers every so often DURING A CHARITY STREAM, to deleting a video when it reaches 1mill views, to finally this
then there is also letting his chat ban other twitch users
@Srade2412 or the several "do this or you're banned" challenges: write unique messages, figure out this phrase, unethical experimentations and trials
I mean, he knows that humans are motivated by pettiness
What is the deleted video?
The video was, apparently, the rest of THIS stream where Doug set it up so the stream would end if viewership went under a certain threshold. He tried several methods to get his viewers to leave (like, actually leave, it wasn't a bit for him): sensory deprivation, sensory overload, leaving chat with only chair, leaving chat with nothing, a black screen with nothing, gaslighting, a fake "stream is over" screen, ACTUALLY LEAVING FOR SEVERAL HOURS. Hitting his top viewership in a "joke" stream is so in character for Doug, and staying in the stream because funny is so in character for chat
It's extremely on point but it wasn't meant to stay, he broke it just a few weeks later in the Rosa streams (peaking at over 23k viewers)
@Pizzawarrior96 also in character. RIP rosa
@soosuj I was there
@L84grub how was it
Doug saying “eventually people will leave” just bc it was a black screen for thirty mins is funny to me bc obviously he hasn’t seen RTGames watching paint dry stream video

It was beautiful.
This is such Stockholm syndrome, except on dougs part

@LucidWeedyI'm pretty sure there's a setting to make banned people not be able to view your stream
@crisp_gaming that's a good point
Truly a representative of cold war society
I was not expecting this to become main channel content
I genuinely didn't think this one would become a video just because of how hectic it was
@SevenVT12I honestly thought its a bad video idea and went poorly, but i watched the whole video so you know, i guess it was pretty good lol
I was thinking it would become a DougDougDoug vid, not main tbh
it's literally a video where nothing happens lmao
me neither lol
that fake out at 17:17 completely got me lol. That nuclear engineer reacts has been all over my recommended recently.

knowing there was a fake out it still got me

yo can i join? :D
The amount of people in the restaurant was massive. But you know what else is massive?
No

1:52 is a completely accurate description of what being a host in the restaurant industry is like. 10/10 content
8000 is a bad number, choose 3 next time
@McDonalds-Empty-Cup 2.5 is better imo
2.3
1.9
Each minute one more person can enter the stream to avoid stampedes

Pumpkin Pi specifically, it's really good
"there's no personalization to this" immediately personalizes by reading a chatters message, good work doug!

Well, it is just true. He could read two comments from the same person hours apart and have no idea they were the same person due to just how many other people there are spamming messages.
0:14 “pacifically”
Not even 20 seconds in and Doug has already fumbled
@TheRoseAlmighty yeah that makes sense
I think Y’all are just deaf. It sounds completely fine to me. Or I’m just used to Doug’s speech.
@OptiNihleyea I think you watch Doug too much
this is why i could never be a yter. imagine checking your comments and the #1 is just "minor speech error"

Don't forget about the bees, machines, and the noise fest
It became rather serene but it was still funny
is there a video of that
@peddr.o there was, but it got deleted after 1 million views
@peddr.o there is, however unofficially. The VOD slowly degraded and shortened with each view. And now it no longer exists.

parkzer’s real name being Adam is simultaneously the most and least sensical thing I’ve ever heard
I know, right? Is that like his online persona or something? I'm gonna keep calling him by his real name, Parkzer.
Parkzer is the most and least sensical person so that makes sense
parkzer is his LAST name
Parkzer is technically his real name
I've met him. He doesn't care
4:20 that is the girl from “I ran unethical experiments on my twitch chat” so her reaction is totally valid
DDCU is expanding
@Nice-Structure-3034 The DouglasDouglas Cinematic Universe
How did u see that lol
i'm pretty sure she was relevant in a different stream too

YEA FR.
i got so sad :(

Wait yeah that’s true
I find it so funny how doug makes every effort to distroy his own channel yet somehow it has made it more popular
Shout out to the editor for all the Twitch chat animations and the red pepper storyline throughout the video. Bravo, Vince!
Why are the animations so good? The expressions, the principles folllowed, and just how smooth it is. Who made this? Did someone move to the dougdoug team?
True actually!
Yeah didn’t know DougDoug got a budget increase
Had to look in the desc. for who does the editing because genuinely it is so good and turns out his editor is someone called CyVoltage!

@CyVoltage hey, editor. hope doug has saved you a spot in the restaurant for all your hard work! it's a shame there was no room to cook for any longer than two minutes during the stream, but let's hope that's not a typical business day
It makes every video so much more funnier
Whoever edited this is amazing. These edits are awesome!
Edit: just occurred to me to check the description. Awesome job CyVoltage!
Thanks
Doug is the only person that can make me want to watch a 17 minute video of him yelling in frustration over a black screen
So happy to exclusively watch this, just like I exclusively watched the stream
E
11:50 that clapping emoji guy is so awesome
he so happy :D
it's funny how Doug wasn't able to play the actual objective for the whole stream, only being able to at like the end of the stream
it's funny how there was also alternative twitch accounts live streaming the stream itself so more people could watch it
That sounds like multiple news channels broadcasting the same story live
Speaks volumes about Doug at a streamer😂
This was the most successful unsuccessful stream I’ve been a part of.
Great time, 10/10 service
I like how this is unironically a great example of the Prisoner's dilemma
8:58 I swear to God this nearly made me cry so much bro 😢
Doug not realising that a screen with nothing happening will attract more viewers than actual content, see: paint drying, ice melting, eating water, placid plastic ducks.
The "leave if you've imagined having a pet dinosaur" one would've made the stream _empty_ if people were being honest.
I didnt imagine having a pet dinosaur. Cause i actually had one
@skyethenerd1054 ...A chicken?
I can honestly say I never did that, even as a huge dinosaur fan when I was a kid.
@MaxLennon _Sociopath behavior, tbh..._
real champions fantasized about BEING a dinosaur instead
...I'm... genuinely envious of Doug & his community.
It's wholesome & heartwarming. ^__^
No, seriously. I've been watching DougDoug for a while now & it's literally impossible to watch w/o laughing hysterically. 😂
1:50 Hey! Who's that handsome guy on screen 😏
Niceee
Its him
ITS THE GUY
It's you!!!
I’m madly in love with you
8:57- Noooo the poor red pepper!
the pupils shaking and slight tears whyyy how can they do this to the pepper :(
8:53 i swear i actually thought that was real

I’m on movie so buffers don’t look like that
Doug: *has multiple AI programs that can select chatters to give them one on one attention*
Also Doug: We need to cull the herd a bit to make things more personalized.
3:35 "I don't want to, like, make people have to pay to eat at the restaurant."
DougDoug's streams are now a community kitchen, CONFIRMED
The communist revolution's time is neigh
I really love the animated bits in the video, the editors are doing amazing
the fact doug got one of the largest amounts of people he ever had during this stream really shows what this community is like
@wristythrone114 apparently according to another comment twitch was advertising him at the same time lol
Yea, there was an ad run by twitch where you could click dougdougs face and it would take you to his stream... only to be immediately told to leave 😂
I remember going on this stream, but read the title and left so people can join really early during the stream. I didn’t know all the chaos that happened until the next stream, where I learned that apparently, around 10,000 stayed overnight! Those brave souls really held the line!!!
The sound of the little arms coming out at 4:45 is my favourite thing
Some people say there are still some chatters holding the line to this day. A line so sacred and beautiful it isn't even mentioned in this video, and the video it was mentioned in has been deleted. Don't let Doug win. Never forget the line ✊
I love the little clapping fellow at 11:51

Anyone back after the new sequel?
the fake end card was so realistic it actually got me
you better give the editor a raise on this one because this has some of the best, craziest editing on the dougdoug channel
I was on phone and got so confused when I saw PC end card, but yeah it's actually 1:1 I think, maybe it was recorded?
am i the only one who thinks this video has a different editing style than the others?
@liloskiller365 oh your right. The editing style is different. It also looks like so much more effort was put into it especially with the skits etc.
@gryban_tolistobLikely given a lot of time to bake, chat mentions it being summer and the vid released in December, plus this was apparently his biggest stream so there may have been a higher standard for it. Or the editor just did this on a whim, idk.
@Bredstikc Hi, me editor.
To pull back the curtain a bit on this one:
Doug had me work on this video specifically because I enjoy working on visuals like this, and boy did this video need visuals of some kind
Ticketmaster will now auction spots for Doug's viewers to be able to enter the stream
It’s semigreatkate from the unethical experiments on twitch chat 13:21
2:00 doug have you ever worked in food service? Thats literally what those apes- I mean "customers" do all the time
Doug is one of the only streamers that would limit their viewer count because it would be funny.
I was born in northern Ireland and I remember all the stories my dad would tell me about the troubles, whenever a bomb threat would get called into the school Maddox would always show up and use telekinesis to find the bomb and save EVERYONE! what a cool guy
Imagine entering a restaurant, and seeing 18000 people in there
😭😭
Glad to be one of the 60,000 before this video hit the 8,000 watcher limit
2:22 Whatever's going on with Parkzer in his personal life, sounds tragic!
WHAT DID HE DO TO DESERVE THIS FATE?!?
I genuinely expected the bouncer to just be someone randomly kicking people out one by one for the rest of the stream.
That bellpepper that got kicked to the curb is about to make me cry like why am I so emotional over a bellpepper with cartoony eyes crying :(
i love all the animations and especially the little twitch chat faces, editor did a great job
The editing of this video is REALLY good! Especially this one! Huge kudos to the editor(s?) because these little animations have so much life I love it so much
my favorite part about this is just how emotive everything is, like those chat heads.
I remember this stream. There were more than 8,000 people for like half an hour, and he wouldn't start.
Edit: I made this comment before watching the video, and didn't think that Doug would include non content in the video.
I don't know why I would think that

THIS is the video that should be deleted at 1 million views.
Douglas learns in real time that scarcity drives up demand
The fact doug can make a stream that is mostly 90% a black screen entertaining by commentary and editing alone, is amazing.

8:05 socksarecool is the guy that ruined the first ever chat controlled stream doug made I will NOT forget
What did this scoundrel do?
@jacksonbury72 They jumped off the slide in SM64, I believe
Shhh, no one needs to know this
@The_Coolest_Sock You're a bold one to be showing your face around these parts
We will never forget his sins
I really really loved all the little restaurant animations that played they made the video way better.
The fake endscreen got me, haha, tried mousing over "the sun is a deadly lazer" video haha
it was so funny to see Doug only manage to play the game for about 3 minutes. also chat managing to keep the stream at 10k+ viewers for like a day was one of the most impressive things they did. too bad Doug cheated to end the stream. ngl I thought chat would close the stream when Doug started playing Fortnite the next day. this was one of those streams that you had to be there despite not much happening.
This is genuinely one of my favorite streams ever just because of how much Doug suffered
