@timrodierides I had a 675 too,it was a 2012 so the last under seat exhaust model in black and gold. Absolutely gorgeous bike but I agree it was uncomfortable, which was why I moved it on after 18 months. I can see the appeal of this bike, being more road focused I'd like to try it. As for the name, remember the Daytona 900? Hardly sporty, they were a bit of a barge. 😊

Daytona name on this bike is fine. It’s a great addition to have a sporty looking mid range triple in the mix…pick your poison.

Great overview and good to see an affordable, reasonably well specified middle-weight bike, and as you said not a parallel twin! Can definitely see the direction of travel in this market and I think it will sell well.

looks fancy, me likey... And the red one is tasty.
But tbh I'd rather have the Trident with that stronger engine :).
For those sending me to the Street triple, yes, I love those alien eyes too, but something less sporty will fit my sore back.

Triumph has at least five Triumph motorcycles with the Daytona name since 1972. The 675 (the 4th with the Daytona name) doesn't hold squatters rights on the name.

To be clear, Triumph will sell many more of these than they ever would a race bred bike. They know that and since they are in the business of selling bikes for a profit, that is their first, second, and third priorities.

Fact is as much as people claim they want a hardcore midsize supersports bike it's all talks but nobody actually put the money where their mouth is.
