It took me 1000km to work out what you so eloquently described the rocket 3 Storm to be..... like an onion which, when you've had time to understand your own limitations, in terms of not being a moto GP rider, and the understandable unfamiliarity with the way Triumph have engineered this bike so that it does things that your eyes tell your brain that it shouldn't do, it begins to reward you in every aspect of the riding experience and you'll find the limits of the lean angle long before you'll find the limitations of the machine, or a halfway experienced rider for that matter. Hmmm, heat!!,... here in Brisneyland it's 30⁰+ summer day's, so in traffic the rocket does what it looks like it would do, but as soon as there is airflow over the bike the heat will dissipate instantly. Thanks for the hello too, and strangely enough my aunty once owned the house in Paddington that bluey lives in in the show, so laughter was had in our house as we watched your review. Your Father is right on the money about the reverse gear... that would be amazing to manoeuvre this beast around seamlessly..... perhaps in the Gen 3 bike. As always mate, entertaining, factual, insightful and I'll definitely be finding that 2800 RPM Lancaster sweet spot when I leave for work tomorrow morning 😂.
Great video and reminded me of the demo Gen 1 Triumph Rocket 3 (2.3l) I took out. My Triumph dealer was great with the demo machines. He saw me sat on the Original Triumph Rocket 3 and said "take it out".... At first I was apprehensive, the Triumph Rocket 3 is an imposing, staggering, formidable, but majestic motorcycle. I am 5'8" weighing just over 11.5 stone and I weight train but it was the imposing size and weight of the Triumph Rocket 3 that made me saw "no thank you!" After a while I changed my mind and said, "yes, I will take the Triumph Rocket 3 out." I was totally surprised that the weight of the Triumph Rocket 3 disappears once it is rolling and it was an easy machine to ride. Cornering it was no hassle either. I remember giving it a small handful of throttle in fourth gear and swearing to !myself, one of the words was ridiculous!!! You felt the heat from the huge radiator on you legs but it was not bad, pleasant actually. I am glad I tried the Triumph Rocket 3. I thought I would post this for riders not as big or heavy as you. You just make sure when you are manhandling the Triumph Rocket 3 you do not put yourself or the machine in an awkward situation! The Triumph Rocket 3 really is not me and I like my old Speed Triple 955i to much! This new model looks fantastic and it is the best in class easily! Thanks.
Surprisingly one reviewer said he thought the Rocket 3 lacked soul and excitement! But it did have plenty of torque. Your opinion Tim seems to differ. You loved the movement and sound of the deep throaty engine. It sounded like a Lancaster bomber at certain rev’s. The handling was very good but did require a little application when cornering. Well I think these traits offer a feeling of soul IMO. And as for excitement it did manage to move your Pot Noodle around in your stomach! Thanks for the honest review.
What a blast, bloody love this bike, great review, thank god you don’t take Triumph marketing too seriously and let the engineers / designers take credit.
Not visited your channel before and I was thoroughly entertained, as well as informed. I'm never going to own one of these heavyweight cruisers but I'd be happy to go for an outing on one. I've watched two other reviews of this bike and yours is by far the best. I identify with your impressions from the road and I like your take on the bike. Highly relatable.
Have the TFC variant. Same power output as Storm. 20,000 miles and loved each and every one of them. 46 mph so 182 mile tank range. Quickshifter is fantastic. A masterpiece!
Great video I’ve got the 3gt chrome edition and I love it it’s absolutely amazing bike and I have trouble with comfort on loads of bikes but this is the most comfortable I’ve ever had 3 hrs in the saddle without stopping no trouble and fun fun fun every ride the note of that exhaust is very addictive I’m one happy boy I think in couple of years when mine is 3 yrs old I’ll sell it and buy another new one in 26/27 possibly funds allowing take care Tim ride safe
This is definitely a retirement bike. Wish I could afford one now though. My dealer had them for 5k off but still at 20k it is a spicy meatball in both power and price!
This bike is the perfect platform for a great full dresser. Batwing, rear luggage, pillion backrest/ trunk. Would love to see that as an option.Rocket 3TOUR EDITION.

This is one of the few Bikes, that I will say, I will keep for my lifetime "I'm (62)
Lovely bike. Why did they put those speed bumps in the middle of nowhere? Crazy. Yeah and I got shit on another channel for asking why this bike needs a quickshifter. This road does not need speed bumps, the bike does not need a quickshifter. 🤣🤣
