The Triumph clock is horrible, it ruins the bike, the TFT single clock on the Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 is far superior and that bike costs just £4,850 in comparison.
It's the best on paper but I just don't really like the looks of that fuel tank so much... And the price is a bit off if you can get a 1000cc 155hp hornet with ohlins suspension for £9999 why £12099 for the z900rs? Overpriced retro markets are too hyped I guess.
@marcoaguiar3226 Totally agree about price politics on Retro bikes. Z900 RS is just a beautiful motorcycle IMHO. A new hornet will shake the market well, I just hope that Honda will come up with the S version...it could be a good substitute for someone who wants a sport touring motorcycle without IMU at a reasonable price

not updated for 2025... I think not even a color change
Kawa Z900RS Cafe for me. Flash the ECU and put on Akra headers. K&N air/oil filter, bored out airbox. Öhlins cartridges up front and shock in the back. Brembo up front with steel braided lines and master cylinder. Forged aluminum wheels. Pirelli Angel GT. I've caught me a couple sport bikes on the road. That 948 pulls hard at 'street' speeds. And it sounds a-mazing.
Agree 100% about the Moto Guzzi V7 Sport which looks like a very interesting proposition. That limited edition rose gold Ducati on the other hand is absolutely rancid lol.
I've ridden a lot of retros naked styles. Get used ones! I highly suggest followings: 1). Honda CB1100 (get RS if you can). Just get it...and DO NOT SELL IT! It is the GOAT of the naked classic bike - and I can attest to this statement. 2). Triumph Twin / Thrux - but DO upgrade exhaust! You will love the unique grinding of its engine. 3). Kawasaki Z900RS if you want a sportier ones. Luckily, they still make it. Clean finish that will do everything you ask - this bike is all about quality of buildmanship. Personally, I now ride a 2016 Harley Roadster being turned into a cafe. Its a fun tinkering project that will keep me busy for a while. So many good bikes in the used market right now - it's a good time to be a rider! :D
I prefer the CB1100EX, especially the 2016 black with spoked wheels. I like the panels to all match in colour. I had one. Was going to be my forever bike until a lady turned into me and wrote it off.
that CB1100-EX is the model to get - a magnificent bike. Beautiful and smooth engine and of course Honda quality. Very few came to the USA and you are right, that’s a rare and valuable bike. I was looking at a used one at reasonable price two years ago but the weight and feel of the big 4 engine just wasn’t right for me - I’m too used to the parallel twins.
My picks of the bunch- Royal Enfield Bear 650 Moto Guzzi V7 Stone Ten Yamaha XSR900 (Powerbronze Cobra fairing would look tops) Ducati Scrambler Full Throttle
@@thomasneedham1512 White and red stripe? Yeah it's very classical looking. If I had the choice, I'm not sure I would go with the white metallic vs the other color option. Might be a hard decision however.
@ The surprise is that the White paint has depth and looks so very good, especially with the contrast of the wheels. I had just bought a GXRS 1000 GT+ but if I had stayed with a naked bike, the Yamaha was top of the list for looks.
Why no one is talking about kawasaki w800. It's the most authentic modern retro and is so barely mentioned in the media these days. Unfortunately we'll lose that model in few years due to euro restrictions
Same weight and about the same power as a RE Interceptor 650, My latest dealer couldn't unload a low mileage used model for over 17 months and $3000 USD in discounts from its original price. It is still there. Heavy, slow and uncomfortable means it is a hard sell.
I owned a 2021 W800 that I bought 2 years old at $6900. They do not sell. Most dealers get one and it sits for a year or two until a niche buyer, probably over 50 years old buys it at a hefty discount. It is an absolute beautiful bike, and authentic retro with analog gauges, wire wheels, air cooled, the unique bevel shaft OHC drive, 370 degree crank and even authentic Dunlop tire with center groove (that absolutely suck and all owners switch to better tires like Michelins (very limited selection. of the uncommon tire size). It’s got fantastic low end torque - can cruise comfortably in 5th gear (the top gear) at 25mpg and even accelerate acceptably without downshift. But the vibration is strong over 3500RPM and the bike feels heavy in handling. Once I demoed the RE 650 bikes I decided to switch. Those 650s equal the HP of the 800 but handle better and don’t have the heavy vibe. I chose the Shotgun 650 and absolutely love it. Happy to have alloy wheels and tubeless tires. Took a solid loss selling the W below expected (realistic) market value. No interest on the used market and after a few months just had to let it go.
I own the Honda CB 350 H'ness that I ride during my annual winter habitats in Vietnam. A very pleasant ride that doesn't feel like much of a downgrade from my BMW R1250GS that I ride in Denmark and the rest of Europe during the rest of the year. The 350 is a brilliant bike for the conditions that prevail in Vietnam. I wouldn't want to ride it on a European motorway though because it lacks acceleration power. It's also deliciously noisy, something Honda designed to complete the retro impression. I even had a guy at a filling station in Vietnam refuse to sell me 95 octane petrol because he was duped and thought the bike was out of the 70s. He changed his mind when I pointed to the ABS ring and showed him the digital display
I always loved Moto Guzzi V7, but hated its front system (single disc brake and weak fork). Now, this new Sport edition, especially in that lime yellow colour, looks really really tempting!
Forlornly watched another brilliant MotoB retro upload with no RD350LC in the list. Oh for a return to those halcyon, glorious days in the 80’s-90’s…☹️
The Honda, the Classic 650 and the XSR are all fantastic. The Bear will probably be the best seller here though. I do like that Bobber, but I'm hoping there's an upscaled GT Continental on the horizon with a fairing and 17 inch wheels! There's a Thruxton shaped hole to fill!
Very informative channel, thank you, I subscribed! Would it be possible, if you list the specs of a model, to tell if cruise control is available? It's not important if it is stock or as an option... but the cruise control is important in a country where speed control is common and expensive, for those "moving to the playground" travels. And anyway, it's handy if the "moving" is long... so you don't have to stay focused all the time.
Overall the triumph speed twin , hands down stands the best among the retro motorcycles but it has to be a fact that the Royal Enfield bear 650 stands well for its appealing retro design and its price .... Just love how Royal Enfield is producing their motorcycles ❤️
Bob is an ambassador for all the brands. He never says anything negative ... all the new models are always 'better' !. What you are really looking at is an 'infomercial'.
Wish you had a choice of black and alloy finish on the Guzzi and triumph engines, love the bmw R12s but at over 20 grand probably not in the cards. Thanks for the update moto bob

Wow. You forgot the Kawasaki Z900rs! What’s up with that? Performance, quality, handling, and styling, it beats most of the bikes on your list. Furthermore, it’s the only retro with a beautiful and powerful Inline-4 engine like the original Z’s of the 70’s.
Sooo, a new paint scheme is considered an update these days? That’s basically all that’s changed with the Triumph line (except Speed twin). Ducati Scramblers were updated in 2024. All they get for 2025 is a stripped down version and a dressed up version with Rizoma bling. Just saying.
The Enfields 650 are the most "authentic" in this "retro" segment. It's possible to service them with a screwdriver + pair of players, the power is JUST of what is expected from this type of bikes, and they do look not bad at all - not to mention the price. So I'd take a couple of different Enfields, rather than a fancy Ducati, Triumph, or other overpowered "retro" 🤷♂🤷♂ Why people bother to buy a fast bike without wind protection - riding fast, gathering insects on the visor - I can understand. These bikes give MORE riding pleasure, but there are also some downsides - bugs/wind/cold.... so a bike of 40 -50 Hp for ME is fine enough.
650 Bear looks nice but man I want min 80hp on my retro. RE needs to up the power game for UK and European markets maybe produce cheap 800 900 or 1200cc engines...
I’d love to know the real reason why the W800 isn’t available in the UK. It’s one of the best modern retros in the market if you’re in North America, Asia or Europe but for whatever reasons, not available in the UK. It can’t be due to emissions or noise as RE offers very similar air cooled bikes.
Yamaha has not said they will sell the GP model in the US, which is a disappointing thing to hear as the base bike is pretty amazing and would be even more so with the GP kit on it.
The Honda and Trimph offers look nice. Great bikes for city fun. Royal Enfield has been launching nice design bikes but the reliability records are not good.
The Triumphs and RE’s are some sweet looking retros. But I agree with you, there’s just something about that Guzzi.
Triumph messed up by not sticking with the analogue gauge.
Fr that shit is foul
Royal Enfield did a better job using the round real estate to put a screen into.
Disgraceful choice to choose the screen from a cheap trident.
I want a single analog
The Triumph clock is horrible, it ruins the bike, the TFT single clock on the Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 is far superior and that bike costs just £4,850 in comparison.

Truimph Bobber TFC is right up my alley. I'll park it right next to my Indian Scout Bobber 20.
I'm 42 and that Classic 650 looks amazing. The only thing I'd question is whether a 650 is enough of an engine to carry that extra weight.

But,45hp for 220 kilos....

I know its just a sponsor - but those flying eyes glasses were insanely cool. Never seen them before until you demoed them.

To be a retro, you have to delete all the tech and the TFT display. A bonifide retro must have a separate analog tach and speedometer.
Guzzi V7 movie is taken in Italy, Gran Sasso mountain, one of the best roads we have, so called Little Tibet... just to say! ;)
Im going to miss the thruxton series.
Definitely Speed Twin 1200 for this category! But if not excluded old model years. CB1000R still my favorite.
vitpilen for me
This category of bikes is just booming lately, for me the one is Triumph Speed 1200 RS just lobe it, or maybe BMW R12 S
Vitpilen and Speed Twin 1200 and of course the BMW.
The new classic 650 looks absolutely stunning. If it rides well…

It would be terrific if the liquid cooled single could be made into a twin with twice the displacement.

I’d love to know the real reason why the W800 isn’t available in the UK. It’s one of the best modern retros in the market if you’re in North America, Asia or Europe but for whatever reasons, not available in the UK. It can’t be due to emissions or noise as RE offers very similar air cooled bikes.

I figured the XSR900 GP would have rated highly in this list. Fantic also make some very cool retros in their caballero range.
Yamaha has not said they will sell the GP model in the US, which is a disappointing thing to hear as the base bike is pretty amazing and would be even more so with the GP kit on it.
