Cost of food is down to the show organisers who charge a lot to each vendor - at a rate that allows the vendor to make 'some' profit - but not excessive.
If you want to encourage more people to attend the show then move the date on a couple of months. As you can see in your footage there is very few people wearing motorcycle gear. People from further afield of Edinburgh want to go to the show using their motorbikes ❄️🌧️☃️☃️❄️
Its always been the same , low numbers , always terrible weather ..... never could figure out why so early in the year....ive helped set up and remove the stalls and exhibits in the past...expensive parking and tall entrance fee dosent help either . much better when it was just at the Brunton hall , and local shops and VERY much younger audience , which i was one of 😀
We have the same proble over here in Ireland not enough people visit our Dublin bike show and because of that it wont be able to keep going . We all need to support our bike groups and by attending shows that is a great help . We like Scotland are just a small group of bikers that needs to stick togeather and now not later when we have lost our shows . Thanks for a great stream . 👍👍👍
I totally agree that the show should be moved a couple of months on , then the sun might shine. Oh and was it just me or did this feel like a Triumph advert at points?
we went on saturday, very good turnout, Parking price was extortionate....... food expensive, all we had was coffee and churros. I could have used the churros for kindling, specialist coffee???? absolute crap. the show was so much better than previous years, I hope it continues to grow, bring back Honda Too. good video Si
Show was dying, but they've done a good job rejuvenating it,actually worth visiting, bikes like Moto Guzzi, that weren't at the NEC, although not the official importer...excellent day, especially going into Edinburgh afterwards with the rugby on,and St Patrick's Day the following day, absolutely jumping...well done all involved, and great to see you again, Mr McKenzie!
It is the same as it always was - the cost of the dealers/makers attending the show has to be repaid by sales which they feel they would not have got had they stayed away. I think they need better advertising - I never even realised it was on, until too late. Was it advertised on Facebook?
Totally agree we need to support our local bike show. Having said that it’s really disappointing you didn’t show anything of the club and vintage hall given that occupies half of the total floor area of the bike show.
Good to see a show doing well, sadly I've stopped going to the NEC which is my nearest show because it's just too expensive with the entrance fee and then astronomical parking.
Great video, This year was in my opinion the best its been in years. I go every year and have done for as long as i can remember, look forward to it. Many people moan about the food costs etc but if you went to a big sporting event its no different. Parking was a bit steep, well, not so much steep as such, try parking in Glasgow or Birmingham but a 100% increase wasn't expected. I never take the bike to a Motorbike show (free parking)for the reasons of 1. it gets warm with all the gear on and 2. i normally have money burning in my pocket that i have saved and its easier to put the purchases in the car than take it home on the bike. I honestly think 2024 was a good one. Missed one major player but that's their loss. Looking forward to next year. NEC next :)
Nice vid Si. Sadly I couldn't make it this year as something came up last minute, but love the look of that sassenach scrambler, attention to detail is great. 👍😎😁
I rode my bike there, was free to park, but was not happy I was riding my lovely clean new bike through a rubble field and left out side in a stone filled car park. thought it may have been a paved road at least
Hi mate first time viewing your channel . 5***** Thanks for bringing us along for the trip. Just subed . Looking forwards to many more streams 👍👍👍👍From Ireland Galway 👏👏👏
A Triumph bike called the "Sassenach" says it all, meaning "English" in Scotts Gaelic. Lol, how ironic. Bike Shed show in London would be my preferred show, better than manufactured stuff. We can't compete with Milan for style really.
I went on Saturday and was looking out for you. Highlight was John McGuinness doing a running commentary with a film of his record breaking lap of the TT playing. Exhausted just watching it! Close to pulling the trigger on the new Tiger 900 GT Pro. 👍
Thanks Simondo for the great footage. Please could you do an indepth Daytona 660 video.would love to know about the Peter Hickman tuning kit??.Hope you have a great week.
Pissed i missed it this year, though last years was poor. Unfortunately more manufacturers would rather put their efforts into the NEC show. So if they want more footfall they need to show more interest.
I went down on sat’ got free parking because I went on my bike, I got there about 12.30pm and you think they would have reduced the cost of the ticket £20, bit steep, but managed to see everything, but i cant remember seeing any Sat Nav stands? Maybe i missed it, could have done with a few more add on parts or excessories for bikes. Also, BMW never attend these shows, maybe cos they think they are too important. Why are the food venders so expensive at these events? Why? Cos they know they can get it.... I couldnt get the year before because of the snow, and paid online, and tried to get my ticket refunded...but know, no response from the organisers...
Hello Si, pity bmw or honda wasn't there and the parking was a ripoff! What do you reckon - fireblade or s1000rr? Have you owned one and which do you prefer?
Cheers Simon. It was a good show - a lot more to do though. £10 for parking was cheeky. More quality kit for sale too would be good. Lots of budget kit but some folk want to spend more. Classic hall was great as always but I and others want to see new kit. Getting there but more work to do - we’ll be there next year. Same as always 👍🏻🏴
Last couplei went to were poor. Lack of main manufacturers etc. Was more like a cheap tool show. From your video it seems to have greatly improved and I now regret not going! Notice BMW wasn't there that I could see.
It's yerself Simon hope the bike trade side is better than the car trade👏🏻👍
I was there on Saturday, really enjoyed it, only negative was being fleeced for parking and the cost of food.
The trade stands were spot on.
£20 for some fudge! Yes. Do not go there hungry!

Aye change the date! Be like having a Christmas market in June! If the bike show is during “Biking season” it’ll bring alot more bikes from all over!
Totally agree move it a couple of months and you never know the sun might just shine

Sorry Jock I was working at the same time as shooting the video so was up against it with time etc. Will be sure to get it in next year. Cheers Si

Thanks dude, yeah that Scrambler is EPIC
Found you👍good video

£10 to park in a muddy field! The woman taking the money said a lot of people not happy about that!
I rode my bike there, was free to park, but was not happy I was riding my lovely clean new bike through a rubble field and left out side in a stone filled car park. thought it may have been a paved road at least

Sassenach looks an amazing bike, but guess I would say that 😂 Cheers Si
🤓 ha it is an incredible looking bike and so much work gone into it :)

Seat about nipple high...we're a short legged race,us Scots 😂
Best show for years
Totally agree

Sure thing Gary will get a review of the Daytona up shortly, hope you have a great week also ✌🏻
Be glad you still have the Scottish bike show, Belfast has gone
Sad times :(
Pissed i missed it this year, though last years was poor. Unfortunately more manufacturers would rather put their efforts into the NEC show. So if they want more footfall they need to show more interest.
Far more exhibitors this year Togs it was really much improved :)
BMW Mottorad based in Dalkeith noticeable by there absence 🤔
No BMW presence, poor show actually :(

Cheers Stewart, I can't complain about the food prices I brought my packed lunch lol. Cheers for commenting on the video dude, Si
No 125's ?
Never got a chance to go through to the other hall and catch up with fellow Monkey owners :)
Hello Si, pity bmw or honda wasn't there and the parking was a ripoff! What do you reckon - fireblade or s1000rr? Have you owned one and which do you prefer?
Hey Andrew, I have only owned the S1000RR, had 2 of them and loved them, however, the new blade looks epic

I suppose if the Scots were more welcoming towards the English then perhaps more would attend from south of the border...
We love the English
@@simotofoto do they, as shown by many Scots at the borders holding banners telling the English they aren't welcome in Scotland...
The problem lies within your own head mate, absolute nonsense. The Scots are known for being very welcoming. You're living in the past.
Waste of time having a bike show in Scotland they’re all too tight to buy anything 😂
Ha not true lol
