I can just imagine one of the writers of Blue's Clues or Law and Order randomly coming across this video and chuckling to themselves, saying "Ha. Someone finally figured it out."
@vivaelguionI don't know Ms puff one seems quite intentional they still keep giving hints even this far into the series they mention god damn shell city my guy which was never mention in the actual series so far but for Ms puff of all people There some stuff in the games I also seen apparently in one Ms puff wants a bunch of art from a museum which she tells SpongeBob when he asked why she said there some things better not knowing
@@RG21YTthe Ms puff theory in my option is the most intentional and actually has a base with the writers still giving details and adding into the mystery
One connection Im surprised Alex didnt make about why the blue dog. Going back to the bus.. the Greyhound, a type of dog. What color was the bus? Blue. The Blue Dog was Kevins escape from the clinic.
I'm honestly surprised that you didn't connect Blue to the Greyhound bus that Kevin was always running off to. If Storybook World with Blue is Kevin's escape then him constantly running away to literally escape on a blue bus named specifically after a dog breed is the perfect parallel and way to fit her into the narrative
I was wondering this myself. I felt the "new York times" was a bit weak to support the narrative especially since you can get the new York times newspaper almost anywhere in the US. But the blue Grey hound bus is such a strong parallel im wondering why it wasn't connected.
You should know that Steve would never say you were crazy for this. He would praise your creativity and tell you that you did a great job collecting the clues. 💙
Blue is the embodiment of Kevin’s mental escape from the clinic. What did he use to physically escape the clinic? The greyhound line bus. The blue greyhound bus. Blue greyhound - BLUE DOG
I love how The Law and Order's writers thought having the Blue's clues guy as a delusional character would be funny and unknowledgeably opened Pandora's box.
I think he took his role from law n order ( which was way first and probably meaningfulto him) and carried those traits over to blues clues, his star role. But that's just a theory.... A RANDOM INTERNET COMMENT THEORY! * MattPatt Voice*
Steve is actually super humble and kind. I'm pretty sure he'd say something like "Whoa that's really creative and smart. You'll be able to go anywhere with that kind of attitude and dedication."
@@JosephQPublic **shrug** fair, didn't see his I just commented on the fact Steve would say that. If me and the other person share the same opinion then it's probably because we both watched the same video of Steve talking to us, and we both probably like Steve from Blues Clue's.
To be fair Matpat somehow becomes even more insane than The Theorizer whenever he talks about FNAF (and probably his successor as well, it's like a curse)
“Mail time” is a common occurrence in facilities like this. Having a repeating fantasy delivering mail would go along with a daily mail time. And being that it would likely occur during group time this might be the reason the others become his mail
My theory for what mail time is: literally a mail time. In places like where Kevin is being held visitors aren’t typically allowed because of what may happen to them (mainly to keep everyone safe). Parents and guardians may send mail and the mail is typically given at a certain time. Mail time is literally a Mail time. The kids he is seeing are just kids he has met at the clinic.
Even the progressions of the hosts makes sense if you see it as Kevin losing his sense of self due to his trauma. First itself someone who looks exactly like him (Steve), then a character directly related to the last host who looks similar (Joe), and finally someone distantly related who looks completely different (Josh). Everytime Kevin comes back to the care center he loses a piece of himself, until he dies
Ah man, I was so close. I had concluded that Joe and Josh were visually inspired by other patients that Kevin/‘Steve’ must’ve met prior to his death. Considering that they are sometimes shown sharing the same screen, and Kevin does have a younger brother just like ‘Steve’ has ‘Joe’ as a little brother, I say it’s more than adequate to consider that Kevin likely had close friends before his death, which is really sad cause for them to be so prominent in his mind, they either died because of the abuse or were separated from him and he was desperate to cling onto their memory by going to the theater. That just makes things a way lot sadder..
I think it's also safe to say part of it is due to the literal brain damage brought on by the helmet. that part kinda got glossed over for some reason, but it's literally why he died in the first place lol him replacing himself with new versions that are more and more "distorted" (ie start to look less and less like himself) makes total sense when you factor in the literal physical brain damage on top of all the severe autism and trauma/PTSD from the abuse.
i could be wrong but i think the show starts like we already know steve, so that could imply there are different versions prior, like he was called kevin before because it was originally him
As someone with high-functioning Autism, no wonder I liked Blue's Clues so much. Idk if this was some sort of coincidence, but I saw Blue's Clues for the first time the day my brother was born, which is exactly six months before my Grandfather who 3 year-old me was very attached to died, and my entire family except for my mom seemed to drift away into solitude. My dad would go straight to his room after work and stay there alone for hours, and I didn't see my grandma or any of my aunts and uncles for a long period of time. To cope, I made up a fantasy world using several plushies I had in my bedroom, along with the special alarm clock I had and the fan in my room during the summer as well. Watching this video not only brought back so many memories, but also made me realize that I did those things to cope with what was happening around me, as an escape from the grief and family drama that was tearing my dad's side apart.
Same here, a fellow autistic who grew up with Blue’s Clues. When I wasn’t watching Dora The Explorer or SpongeBob, you betcha I would’ve been watching Blue’s Clues. The pain of Steve getting replaced was difficult to deal with because I loved him a lot but Joe was a blast too. Gotta love that a dark theory of all things brought me back to my childhood and gave me a fresh look into the new Blue’s Clues I am missing out on now..
@@dafilmqueen556 For some reason I liked Joe more than Steve, but yeah all around this is a very interesting theory. I like to picture Blue's clues as a metaphorical snow globe, a perfect world encased in a fragile glass shell to protect it from the outside forces of the harsh reality of Law and Order. When Kevin escaped the clinic the past two times, a crack appeared on this metaphorical snow globe, but disappeared every time he was returned, resetting the show. When Kevin escapes the final time, the glass starts cracking under the immense pressure of real life, and when Kevin dies, the glass breaks and the lines between Kevin's fantasy and reality blur in his mind as he is dying.
@JupiterGamingEX, relatable. I understand using a fantasy world to cope with family issues. It took a long time to realize why I was so depressed about my mother and now ex-stepfather’s toxic relationship, especially since he turned out to be far worse than I had originally anticipated, and he wasn’t too awful a parent in the nearly 11-12 years he’s been my stepfather, but he was an emotionally abusive stepfather so I don’t feel bad about not missing him in the slightest. Funnily enough, Steve was my favorite host because he has the same name as one of my younger brothers, and I tend to have a bit of an identity crisis whenever I hear my own name (Stephanie) spoken even when referring to someone else. Always great to meet a fellow autistic..
For me, being someone who's on the Autism spectrum, it was hard for me to make friends as a kid because a lot of kids thought I weird and when I did make friends, they would end up moving. At that time, my parents were separated so it was a back and forth during the weekends. I didn't have someone my age in my family to play with, and the only sibling I had was my older sister, but she never really talked to me or hanged out with me as much. So, my way of coping as a kid was by drawing and making up different characters but also watching a lot of TV and RUclips. While luckily nowadays I do have friends, I still like looking back at some of the different characters and stuff I made up as a kid. One example I'll give, was a black and white wolf Don Bluth-like character I use to Imagin. I didn't really come up with a name of the character, but I gave it a spikey red collar mainly because I thought it was cool (I was like 9, I don't know).
I just noticed that when kevin’s imagination of Josh, the newest main character, wakes up and leaves the first thing we see is crowds. (Josh gets overwhelmed aka Kevin) then a close up shot of a cop, just like the law and order episode. Just something I thought you would bring up, but theres only so much time and research a person can do, great vid!
Oh yeah, that whole sequence of getting overwhelmed by lots of noise and all the busy-ness is definitely an Autistic trait. I know he's supposed to be a person that kids will like and relate to, so he's written very childish, but man he is a full grown adult, Josh irrefutably has autism. Also for my own experiences having difficulty with bus routes and huge difficulty when I don't have specifics, Josh not knowing how to get to the theater or what specific theater it is actually hits home 😳
@@DropsOfMarsyes 😭learning the bus routes in my city was hell, till this day I refuse to take the bus because of how many times I’ve gotten lost, been late, got on the wrong bus or my favorite, the bus doesn’t come at all even though it says it’s arriving
@DropsOfMars Josh does not "irrefutably" have autism because he hates loud noises. As a kid I was terrified of 4th of July, and any jumpscare sounds. Now, I can barely stand my family getting a little loud without me lashing ou- I might get myself checked out nvm
I actually DO remember hearing about Steve's role in Law and Order, mostly because of an urban legend of Steve dying of a drug overdose because kids got him confused with his role in L&O. I was surprised to learn the L&O Steve wasn't a drug addict, but something even more tragic.
Can you imagine parents that was annoyed with steve from blues clues finding that L&O episode and just started talking and hyping up about how Steve is finally dead (Similar to how people talked about how they were happy that Edward from Twilight was dead (When Robert played that dude from Harry Potter and died), or even when Justin Beiber died in Law and Order as well and people rejoiced). This actually makes what i said earlier very pausible
@@nickronca1562 Theorizer is the same way! Which is funny because their Spongebob Stuff is a bit contradictory but I believe them both with all my heart, haha.
@@brucemcgoose7609 I've known about The Theorizer since his robot voice days but didn't actually start watching him until has Patrick Star theories, and didn't subscribe to him until he started his Mort theories.
17:00 counterpoint! Mail time seems to be very very similar to hospital visiting hours, the little girl saying “this is where we play with our blocks” sounds like another patient showing their brother or sister around. Also having a specific time for contact with people who aren’t “in the universe” is basically what visiting hours are for. Having parents come visit and get an update on their kid and have the siblings play blocks or tic tac toe with them.
For someone like Kevin who is traumatized and has had to retreat inward, "mail time" could actually represent one of the few times he's appreciated or shown positive attention, like when you're a kid and you get mail it's exciting.
This was....wow. Blue's Clues was one of my favorite childhood shows, and this theory alone redefines how I see this show. While we pointing out coincidences and allegories, at 16:01, the most visible book in the pile under the title book is a book named Corduroy, a book about a teddy bear that wants to be bought and loved by a girl named Lisa, but he is missing a button and is dismissed as just another old toy. I'm not saying its inclusion was intentional, but I find it as an allegory or metaphor for Kevin's autism. He wants to be loved and accepted by the rest of the world like Corduroy, but because of his disability (Corduroy's lost button), he is unwanted by the rest of the world.
I was ready to be like "Okay, then why is he 'Steve' in the fantasy when his name's Kevin." but then you got to the part with Blue and it makes perfect sense. A lot of people with autism don't feel like humans, especially if they have trouble relating to them. Of course Kevin isn't some human named Steve, he imagines himself as Blue, the real main character of the show, an animal struggling to be understood. He imagined an animal character for himself just like I do. Both Blue and Steve are almost like parts of himself.
THIS. There doesn't need to be a physical representation of Blue in the real world, because Blue is just another way that Kevin has found to express himself. The connection with people on the autism spectrum struggling to communicate fully hooked me. And by that I mean, it's so silly but actually so on point too? 😅
Either that, or he always wanted to be british. Hence why british Blues Clues got 'Kevin' (side note: as an english person this video was so confusing because I always forget different countries had different Blue's Clues hosts... and another character being called Kevin really took the cake)
I don't think he's blue. The chair, mentions of time, and the presence of many elements in Kevin's life like drawing make it too clear he's Steve. Blue represents both his inability to communicate well as well as his difficulty interpreting others. But Blue is man's best friend, his closest individual in his life, which feeds back into these dissociative fantasies because being quiet and retreating inward to his mind is the only place things make sense for him.
i saw a comment saying blue is the bus because blue's clues is the escape from reality and he planned to escape on a blue greyhound bus blue greyhound blue hound blue dog blue
yep makes sense. one looks like him but can communicate effectively, something Kevin wishes he could do, and the other is his inner self, how he truly sees himself because he struggles with communicating.
God damnit…I’m a 30 year old man and I unironically teared up when Steve said “I’ll never forget how you helped me find all those clues” I grew up with the show and I was devastated when Steve left I can’t believe it hits this hard all these years later
Dude I did too. I'm on the spectrum, and I remember loving the crap out of Blues Clues when it came out, I was 13. I always disappear into my head like Keven/Steve does in the Law & Order episode. I think Steve left sometime just before I had my second child, and I personally stopped watching. My daughter loved his replacement when she was a baby so it was on in the house, but it wasn't the same without Steve. I tried, Steve! I really tried to help you find all those clues!
24:19 My heart dropped when i heard Freinds Past Reunited (Stage 6 EATEOT/Stage 7 Dementia) started playing. The song is canonically what The Caretaker heard before he died and it perfectly captures the despair and the feeling of dying
When I was a preschooler, before my autism diagnosis, Blue's Clues gave me the idea to put stickers on things to help communicate what I wanted. So that part of the theory makes sense
AHHHHH OKAY I'm so glad you pointed out BD Wong, bc yes he's also in Law and Order, but most importantly, HE'S A PSYCHOLOGIST. So in the instance that maybe Kevin didn't die, Dr. Huang could have very possibly talked to Kevin about his experiences at the behavioral clinic. The gentle tone he uses with Josh in the film is the same understanding tone that Dr. Huang would have used in speaking to a victim. (although this is probably the flimsiest connection, as BD Wong's first appearance in Law and Order SVU is in 2001, 6 years after the Kevin Jeffries episode)
I was half expecting this to be just like all the other unoriginal "It was all in their head" theories, but this was really well put together. I started to feel genuinely unsettled about halfway through, and I'm not ashamed to admit I cried a bit at the end. Nice work.
What I like about this theory is that it's very reminiscent of those old theories that try to connect Samurai Jack to Powerpuff Girls. Really feels like an old school cartoon conspiracy theory that I would've heard back in 2011
My thoughts exactly. I love stuff like this. It makes engaging with each show much more interesting. It's sad, but it makes so much sense in context. Hope I can get more stuff like this in my recommended
Back when I was a kid, I straight up thought Samurai Jack WAS an older Professor Plutonium. I just thought his daughters perished, allowing Aku to take over.
@@seriousnesstv7902You can find a ruined city that resembles Townsville in the premiere movie. It even has talking dogs. I think the theory was debunked by one of the creators, maybe Genndy? But it's still fun to think about.
Seems like an insane set of coincidences I’ll tell ya, I was about to say “what a fun theory” but it’s more like a deeply depressing and disturbing theory, but I love it great work.
I absolutely love how you handle autism sensitively, I have autism myself, and I'm quite sensitive with it being discussed in media, and especially something like this. But I love how you treat the hypothetical character with autism like an actual person in this scenario. Amazing video, great job again Alex!
24:57 You pulled me back in with the movie part, Alex. When Kevin is in the streets of New York, the last thing he hears befofe going into the fantasy is a police siren... like when he got arrested in Law And Order
Speaking as someone on the spectrum who grew up with Blue's Clues (and only a little Law & Order) I'd like to think of it as Kevin/Steve getting a second chance in another world. Especially seeing how he becomes a Detective in NYC, and tells the audience how proud he is of how far we've come! Well made, well informed video. Thank you very much!
AuDHD myself. It feels kind of like what I do when I'm overwhelmed and overstimulated, I'll either start silently RPing while I play a video game or I'll write a fanfic of a fantasy world. When my mom is especially prodding me nonstop, I retract into my mind hard. It seems like Kevin/Steve is trying to escape.
Alternate theory: Kevin is represented by blue, and the host is his nurse/caretaker trying to figure out what Kevin wants, changing each time he escapes
I didn't take much convincing after you brought up the thinking chair. I'm autistic myself, so I know what it's like to have a vivid imagination and the idea that Kevin being strapped to a chair and forced to wear a sensory helmet, the only thing he can do at that point is... Think. Think about anything. Think about being anywhere else, doing anything else, being anyone else. Kevin has trauma, he's abused, he's neglected, but Steve doesn't have to worry about all that-- Steve's life is regimented, simple, and everyone is happy to see him. During a time I was depressed I actually used Animal Crossing Wild World for a similar escape, everyone in my town wanted to see me whilst in real life I'd felt like nobody wanted me... I imagine if Kevin gets to be Steve when he closes his eyes and lives with a dog he solves simple mysteries with, it's a safe place that he doesn't have in real life. It's one big coping mechanism through an active imagination and heavy disassociation. Despite the dramatisation, and even if these two fitting together is a coincidence, this resonates in a way to my own personal experience that makes complete sense.
the “blue being the part of him that struggles to communicate” part also hit me just as hard as the point you mentioned. i’m not diagnosed autistic (i have suspicions but i can’t get tested) but the communication issues are so real. trying to figure out clues as to what you’re thinking or what you’re doing to piece together what’s happening.
blues clues was my very first special interest as a little kid, so finding out that Steve's actor was on Law & Order playing an abused autistic kid hit me a little too hard. I LOVE this video, and think it's one of your strongest theories yet, but it legitimately made me cry lol
Yeah! He also does indie film work, check out his sorta 4th wall combination of theories and storytelling with his "Don't Feed the Muse" project. It's got spongebob theories but also with some other really cool story stuff connecting that.
Normal Theorist: Walter White is Alive MatPat: Ted is Walt Jr’s dad AlexBale: Walter White is Piglet from Winnie the Pooh AlexBale’s being the most convincing 😂
Actually, I can believe that Ted is Walt Jr.'s dad. You can tell from the beginning of the series that Walter resents his alleged son's existence because of his disability.
This theory made me cry so hard even if that wasn't your intention. I have autism just like Kevin and how you described his perspective is so accurate because of the sensory overload of New York and how he doesn't understand social cues. The cherry on top was the ending of the movie because it feels like Kevin was having one final hurrah before he died, the Everywhere at the End of Time music tugged at my heart strings too. Wonderful theory, Alex.
You are not "just like Kevin" or you wouldn't be able to use RUclips by yourself, let ALONE type such coherent sentence with complex emotions and emotional relation to someone else. Literally EVERYONE is self diagnosed "autistic" nowadays. Everyone's just gots to be an extra special snowflake... 🤦🙄
@@Cooe. But I was diagnosed with it by a doctor in 8th grade and I inherited it from my mom. Autism is a spectrum so there is no one way for an autistic person to act
And to think, MatPat had only 2-3 years ago made a theory about Blue being an alien back when he was still onboard as host. I’m still going for Alex’s theory cause I realized that I absolutely love psychological horror and he’s the guy responsible for awakening that primal beast in me that seeks justice for tortured souls. Can’t find a better theorist that could rival Film Theory than Alex Bale, now can we?
@@unatorteja That's true. Some of them are way too out there but I think it's more crackpot conspiracy theorist than going insane I find them more enjoyable when thought of like that
@@unatortejathat’s his point theorizer has said it numerous times he likes to ride the line of obscurity, he wants to see how deranged, insane and farfetched his theories can get with evidence. the whole point of the Mort theory was exactly that make absurd claims and somehow the show will perfectly back them up 100% making it seem like it was put there for that intent. even his monsters inc theory was crazy until he showed the deleted scene of one of Boo’s toys becoming sentient and leave her room entering the monster world, literally proving half of his claims. theorizer is a fun guy to watch for those crazy theories that could possibly be true.
im only at 6:48, but as an autistic person(ASD-1) with some knowledge on autism, id like to add i really do think its possible; autistic people are more likely to slip into psychosis, especially when isolated, and hallucinations are co-morbid, same with schizophrenia (though most of us dont have it, but point is its plausible.) on top of that many of us are already prone to maladaptive daydreaming as well. so this is a very interesting theory so far.
Some more evidence: > In the reboot, Steve grows up and becomes a detective (also, I guess as fun wink and a nod to a character that we all remember the good times with). Law and Order is a detective show 😮 > Blue's Clues is a show where you find clues to figure out the answer to a mystery (or more ideally what Blue is trying to say, but stay with me here) EVERY episode (JUST LIKE LAW AND ORDER) > 20:20 Josh flat out says that they are not in storybook world, which is a common representation of imagination. If this is TRULY Kevin's fantasy, then the outside world/ reality in Law and Order is breaking into it and directly addressing Kevin's condition. > This one's a stretch, but if you look at the clothes Steve and Kevin wear, they are almost identical. The same pair of Kakis and the same green sweater (I know that the color of Kevin's sweater looks grey, but it's still a sweater. Either way, it's the same type of clothing to make the same outfit they wear). Alex, if you're reading this, hopefully this is concrete and helps solidify the theory. But hey, that's just a theory... A FILM THEORY!!! Aaaaand, CUT!
In addition to the interpretation of “mailtime” being a fantastical/distorted recreation of the other kids playing, as somebody who’s been through the abusive psychiatric hospital system, “mailtime” is an important part of the daily structure. Though mail time more realistically in the real world would be phone time, visiting time, etc. Same time every day, something patients look forwards to. Watching this video is weirdly triggering to some of the trauma I experienced while in the mental hospital, as unfortunately disassociation is exactly how I coped with the weeks I spent staring at a wall. Being disoriented when going back into the real world is also so, so relatable to my experience… I don’t know how to be a real person after the years I was stuck in the system. I genuinely don’t know how to feel abt this, great video and great theory.
I was put in a mental institution back around 2000, I was 9, I remember when our friends would send us letters it was the best ever. We were only allowed to call parents at night, but friends and family could send us screened mail.
Alex don’t feel discouraged about not succeeding in film the way you want to. On the outside looking in, you’re doing a hell of a good job on becoming a major film maker. You’re really good at making tense and mysterious videos. Use it to your advantage until you get to where you have to go.
6:00 this actually happened recently to a 19 year old with autism in Lebanon, Ohio, just 3 hours from my city. The police arrested him and due to his sensory issues, he ended up physically harming himself until he eventually injured himself so much that he had to go to the hospital. He died three days later. While he was in jail for 10 hours, the officers antagonized him and cause an insane amount of stress. Any normal and reasonable human would realize that there was something wrong with him other than drugs. His name was Isiah Trammell and he was reported dead by suicide on March 16th 2023. I don’t think I’d ever consider something like this anything other than murder.
Why didn't they take him to hospital for mental health? They just left him to hurt himself in the jail cell? They arrested him for a meltdown and let him hurt himself? I would call that negligence and unlawful in the first place to arrest him at all. It sound like they lacked empathy if none of them tried to help him and they shouldn't be in a job managing people if they don't either naturally have or practice empathy...
I loved this theory! As someone who has Aspergers, and grew up with a sister who has Non Verbal Autism, I’m happy with how you handled the Autism Spectrum sensitively. I am also a fan of your videos! 🩵
Hans Asperger was a not-see scientist whose whole thing was finding the ones worth keeping around, hence Asperger's ending up being the name for it... psychologists have stopped using that name for this diagnosis so better to just say you're on the autism spectrum. Those formerly diagnosed with Asperger's currently tend to sit in level one autism spectrum disorder. I know that's where I'm at 👍
@@DropsOfMars The term is still relevant and most people didn’t know that until very recently, hell I was diagnosed 12 years ago and it still said “high Asperger’s” on my sheet.
@@PukeprincessThe original commenter wasn't quite right. The reason Asperger's is no longer in use isn't because of the horrific actions of Dr. Asperger. That may have contributed to the name which was decided on but as of 2013 with the release of the DSM 5, Asperger's is no longer a disorder. Autism is "Autism Spectrum Disorder" and includes what used to be Asperger's disorder, Autistic disorder, and pervasive developmental disorder not otherwise specified. The reason Autistic Disorder and Asperger's Disorder were merged into Autism Spectrum Disorder is because no significant difference was found. Then, presumably because it is now recognized as a Spectrum, the catch-all was moved under the Autism umbrella as well. 12 years ago the DSM 5 hadn't come out yet and the disorders were still separate. If you went to a professional again you should be able to get re-diagnosed as having Autism Spectrum Disorders very easily with your medical history. It's explicitly listed in the DSM people with a well-established Asperger's diagnosis should be given the ASD diagnosis. I'm not sure what "High Asperger's" means. If you mean high-functioning you'd probably be classified as Level 1: requiring support. If you mean "High Asperger's" as in severe Asperger's you'd probably be classified as Level 2: requiring substantial support. (Disclaimer: This comment is based on information in the DSM 5. There has been a released DSM-5-TR which may have made some slight changes. There will also be a DSM-6 before too long which I expect might come with even more significant changes to how Autism Spectrum Disorder is classified. Also, while I tried to stick purely to the plain text written in the DSM-5 and did have it open as a reference while writing this comment, I cannot guarantee the accuracy of my comment. My conjecture about how your Autism Spectrum Disorder would be classified is purely hypothetical and for an accurate evaluation you'd need to be evaluated by a professional.)
Dude, I was skeptical at best until I noticed: the theater director that says, "We want you to be the star of our show" to Josh, that's B.D Wong. He was a behavioral psychologist on Law and Order SVU. But if i'm not mistaken, the character orignally came from Law and Order. As soon as I saw that, there's no going back. I'm sold!!
I grew up with Blue’s Clues, but I never saw Law & Order. This will be interesting for sure. If you can make my childhood scary but entertaining to watch, you deserve the title ‘Master of Horror and Theory’..
@@ye2437, no. My childhood was already ruined by my ex-stepfather who tried to accuse my mother of abuse and kicked me, her, and the older of my two younger brothers out of the house. I also have a massive guilt complex and Eldest daughter syndrome probably from having to deal with emotional abuse from him as basically the third parent to my two youngest siblings. A childhood ruining theory is scary sure but not as bad as the emotional trauma. If anything, Alex Bale’s theories have only awakened my love for psychological horror..

Fun fact: Steven burns appeared on another police drama show called homicide life on the streets. In season six episode, he plays a student that kills his bully and his acting is really good in that episode and that came out long before Law and Order and Blue’s Clues.

26:20 “Its just his students theorizing about what he does in the days that he's absent” is what my sister has said to explain breaking bad. Honestly, it's very convincing, but i feel like if i found this video a couple of years ago, it would have made me upset because this was one of my favorite shows when i was little. You know Ive seen and expected plenty of possibilities for wild theory’s , but I can admit never once in my life was a Blues clues and Law & order crossover theory anywhere in my mind, you’ve once again grasped my attention with an iron grip can’t wait to watch😆
I don't think these coincidences are nods to blues clues considering blues clues came out in 96 and this law and order episode came out in 95, the pilot was only filmed around this time. All of this just fits together really, REALLY well.
3:40 before I get any further into this I’d like to say these “fake” vibes you get from the show, as a kid, always just felt like I was getting to play pretend with a grownup. It was exciting and engaging and I really enjoyed it, honestly I think I’d still at least be *entertained* as adult. Additionally, Steve was never alone as a human, all of us watching are there too. I always interpreted the audience as part of the show.
Oh, so that's what it's like. I'm over 40, and sure, I remember when I was little and when watching children's media, the characters would occasionally address the audience but only in the same way as someone reading the news to you; they never expected you to respond back. I always wondered what it would be like to watch those kinds of shows as a kid.

THIS!! I was losing my mind thinking "okay this bit where you can't find a blue dog is going on a little too long! ....wait, it's not a bit??"
I was wondering this myself. I felt the "new York times" was a bit weak to support the narrative especially since you can get the new York times newspaper almost anywhere in the US. But the blue Grey hound bus is such a strong parallel im wondering why it wasn't connected.

“Mail time” is a common occurrence in facilities like this. Having a repeating fantasy delivering mail would go along with a daily mail time. And being that it would likely occur during group time this might be the reason the others become his mail
It could be Keven/Steve wishing his parents would write but instead he just observes all the other kids getting mail.
You're both cooking omg I get what y'all sayinggg
THIS
My theory for what mail time is: literally a mail time.
I assumed it was a representation of wanting to connect with people outside of his prison
having been in a few BHU's that's immediately what I thought too.
Oh, that is a damn good addendum.
🤯
I think it's also safe to say part of it is due to the literal brain damage brought on by the helmet. that part kinda got glossed over for some reason, but it's literally why he died in the first place lol
him replacing himself with new versions that are more and more "distorted" (ie start to look less and less like himself) makes total sense when you factor in the literal physical brain damage on top of all the severe autism and trauma/PTSD from the abuse.
i could be wrong but i think the show starts like we already know steve, so that could imply there are different versions prior, like he was called kevin before because it was originally him

The presence of a salt shaker is what convinced me. There's no way you'd ever see one of those in the real world.

What the actual hell, why is this one of the strongest theory’s I’ve ever seen😭

Theorizer: THIS ONE RANDOM BABY THAT SHOWED UP FOR 5 MINUTES IS ACTUALLY GOING TO EAT THE MULTIVERSE
And Alex Bale's is the most convincing one
Actually, I can believe that Ted is Walt Jr.'s dad. You can tell from the beginning of the series that Walter resents his alleged son's existence because of his disability.
As the video went on, my eyes continued to get wider. This was insane and I believe you.
I'm also autistic, and I agree about the sensory overload.
@@Cooe. Bro
@@Cooe. you know there is varying spectrums of autism right? not everyone that has it will be unfunctional.
@@Cooe. But I was diagnosed with it by a doctor in 8th grade and I inherited it from my mom. Autism is a spectrum so there is no one way for an autistic person to act
24:51 "i know this final movie theory maybe doesnt have as much evidence" --> nah that one convinced me 😱
Na fr
Man this feels like something film theory would have covered honestly this is solid
I mean The Theorizer is pretty good imo
@@FalteredGreed yeah but he has this "going insane" thing that is not that appealing and sometimes he gets WAAAAY too farfetched
25:45 "Hope I didn't ruin Blue's Clues for you"
Alex you absolutely wrecked me and my love for Blue's clues. 10/10 would ruin my childhood again.
Some more evidence:
> In the reboot, Steve grows up and becomes a detective (also, I guess as fun wink and a nod to a character that we all remember the good times with). Law and Order is a detective show 😮
> Blue's Clues is a show where you find clues to figure out the answer to a mystery (or more ideally what Blue is trying to say, but stay with me here) EVERY episode (JUST LIKE LAW AND ORDER)
> 20:20 Josh flat out says that they are not in storybook world, which is a common representation of imagination.
I went to comment this. Truly awful.
There should be medical professionals at jails who have authority to say what people stay there and who goes to a hospital instead.
@ I agree, hopefully I can do something about it, that’s what I’m in college for
@@DankChickenMan that's good, I wish you luck in your career I hope you make and achive the changes you go after
I loved this theory!

God that end reveal of the director GOT ME I CACKLED
Dude, I was skeptical at best until I noticed: the theater director that says, "We want you to be the star of our show" to Josh, that's B.D Wong. He was a behavioral psychologist on Law and Order SVU. But if i'm not mistaken, the character orignally came from Law and Order.
As soon as I saw that, there's no going back. I'm sold!!
LOL what about the “walking into screen” part?
"now you may still not be convinced" i was immediately convinced this theory is actually so cool i'll never stop being impressed by your theories
I grew up with Blue’s Clues, but I never saw Law & Order. This will be interesting for sure. If you can make my childhood scary but entertaining to watch, you deserve the title ‘Master of Horror and Theory’..
He’s done it before bro this gonna be amazing
Did he make your childhood scary?
@@ye2437, no. My childhood was already ruined by my ex-stepfather who tried to accuse my mother of abuse and kicked me, her, and the older of my two younger brothers out of the house. I also have a massive guilt complex and Eldest daughter syndrome probably from having to deal with emotional abuse from him as basically the third parent to my two youngest siblings. A childhood ruining theory is scary sure but not as bad as the emotional trauma. If anything, Alex Bale’s theories have only awakened my love for psychological horror..
@@dafilmqueen556 I hope you are doing well today.👍
@PaigeRobins-ky4qc, thank you for you support. And yes, I am doing ok. It’s still a bit complicated, but I have hope it’ll keep improving a little bit more. He’s already out of my life so I no longer have to worry about doubting myself anymore..
This is the best depiction I have ever seen of Steve hallucinating since MeatCanyon's parody. I love this theory to bits!
Also check out Adult Swim’s “Mr. Neighbor” (Part 1 AND Part 2).
And What’s the Matter, Martha?
First time on the channel. By 0:54 you solidly had my attention. This is the kind of high quality content I need to get through my work day.
Crazy that you went from making a Blue's Clues theory spoof to an actual Blue's Clues theory with Law & Order.
24:44 I did not expect to be CRYING over this
Glad to know I wasn't the only one who felt just a little teary
Ok???? Like what the heck 😭😭😭
That's why he has a million subs
Fun fact: Steven burns appeared on another police drama show called homicide life on the streets. In season six episode, he plays a student that kills his bully and his acting is really good in that episode and that came out long before Law and Order and Blue’s Clues.
Yep I saw this. Didn’t have any cool connections though.
I went through alot as a child in the steve days of blue's clues.. he will never know how much he helped me, even if it was just a few laughs a smiles per day, laughs and smiles were few and far between at that time for me... I want to thank steve for playing his part so well and getting the show green lit in the first place.. You dont know how many days you brightened for children all over..
I jammed to that little "we just figured out blues clues" and reality hit just like adulthood with that "because this is my job"😂😂
WHAT?! Why do all of your theories sound so unhinged?! I love them for that!
Yes
this is unhinged? look at the shit The Theorizer makes bro
26:20 “Its just his students theorizing about what he does in the days that he's absent” is what my sister has said to explain breaking bad. Although they also explained all of SCP as “college students just competing to get the most outlandish rumors about them, and all the numbers are just their dorm numbers.”, and Lord of the Rings as a “DnD campaign run by a really vindictive dungeon master that constantly kills off every one’s characters.”
Edit: that wasn’t lord of the rings, it was game of thrones.
You have an amazing sister
Your sister is a Good theories
Technically these are all variations of “its just a dream” theories but at least they are all creative.
The Lord of the Rings one doesn't even vaguely make sense. only something like three important characters die, and one of them comes back.
@@jedh3721yeah that would fit something like berserk more
Honestly, it's very convincing, but i feel like if i found this video a couple of years ago, it would have made me upset because this was one of my favorite shows when i was little. But i guess it makes sense that there's a possible dark side to something i loved as a child. There's a dark side to everything.
the fact that this man takes kid shows and turns them into a horror reality is crazy respect this man
Never would I have ever thought that the Blue's Clues theory was in relation to DAMN LAW AND ORDER
I watched Blue Clue religiously as a kid and then would watch Law & Order every day with my grandma
I'm gonna love this
i pray the universe keep helping this man pay his bills thru the content he provides like this! cuz holy crap what did i just stumble across? 😮 this gave me chills. subcribed!
That ending though. Saved the biggest punch for last.
Ik it’s so sad ;-;

Sent this to my 23 year old son. He said he will watch this in his work break. I can’t help but fear that I’ve just ruined his childhood. I didn’t finish the video before sharing. I got too excited about the similarities because I remember watching that Law and Order episode with him and obviously Blues Clues. 🕵️♀️ 💙 Guess I’ll find out soon. 😅
what did he think? I actually believe this theory tbh, i'm pretty convinced XD

Your excitement for these theories is always so contagious!
Alex: “You’re probably not convinced yet…”
Me: Nope, I’m already sold.
You know Ive seen and expected plenty of possibilities for wild theory’s , but I can admit never once in my life was a Blues clues and Law & order crossover theory anywhere in my mind, you’ve once again grasped my attention with an iron grip can’t wait to watch😆
Im not sure the writers at law and order knew about these fan theories but its cool they definitely did the nod to his days at blues clues.
I don't think these coincidences are nods to blues clues considering blues clues came out in 96 and this law and order episode came out in 95, the pilot was only filmed around this time. All of this just fits together really, REALLY well.
@@eggworth_III Agreed. I doubt either franchise tried to incorporate the other into their respective shows

@Princessmisaofficial I never once discredited the theory itself but go crazy big dawg, I was just correcting OP really

This is a theory I did not expect
3:40 before I get any further into this I’d like to say these “fake” vibes you get from the show, as a kid, always just felt like I was getting to play pretend with a grownup. It was exciting and engaging and I really enjoyed it, honestly I think I’d still at least be *entertained* as adult. Additionally, Steve was never alone as a human, all of us watching are there too. I always interpreted the audience as part of the show.
seems to me the audience could be a reference to the doctors and personnel that would stand there and watch and document and "help" solve the "autism"
25:35 I love this ongoing joke😂❤
watched this a few weeks ago and loved the video without even realizing you were American RUclipsr, filmmaker, animator, and actor Alex Bale
If you haven’t met Athena P, YOU SHOULD TOTALLY MEET AND COLLAB WITH HER.

I agree!!!
YESS AND MAYBE THEY COULD HAVE THEIR ATMOSPHERE (like how Athena is very bubbly and expressive while Alex has a more serious tone although having “outlandish” topics) REVERSED SO ATHENA IS IS LIKE ALEX WITH HIS QUIETER YET KINDA UNSETTLING BACKROUNDS/ATTITUDE AND ALEX IS LIKE ATHENA WITH HER MAKEUP AND COLORFUL BACKROUNDS
who's Athena P?
@vivaelguion she does breakdowns of childrens show in an adult way. You should look her up shes great and funny
I don't know who Athena is who is she ?
Me seeing the title and remembering how much I used to love blues clues:
“God damn it my entire childhood is gone isn’t it”
😔
Nah it's still there. Blue's Clues still exists.
you have an ability completely unmatched in this space to make an absolutely INSANE title for a theory and gradually make me more and more convinced until I fully believe the theory by the end. this happens to me for every single theory you upload without fail. phenomenal work as always
Another hint I just randomly saw: In Big Time Rush‘s first season in episode 14 Gustavo says he‘s on a „hotel unwelcome list“ (meaning he can’t stay in any hotel in LA) along with with the original moderator of Blues Clues. Kind of funny how even Big Time Rush hints at Steve being crazy
24:10 yeah I was agreeing up until this, that’s when I started crying 😭😭😭 theory so well explained it got me popping out tears
Alex: "In case you're not convinced..."
Me: "You had at 'What Time Is It?' "
Also, "The Broadway Number is Brain Death" is a Classic Trope, and it gave me chills watching it. 😮😢

(And yes it's a digital horror serries inspried by the Brick Catalogue. Amazing what a parody can do :D)
That gave me the most chills when he connected the broadway number to the death 😢 wow
Finally, a theory like this that actually tells a logical story instead of just going "This unrealistic thing isn't real because I said so. The end."
Also, your editing is incredible. The visuals and writing is on point and I really appreciate your style. I have learning disabilities and this video (and audio when I watched it again with my friends) is really easy to follow. To the point, clear and convincing! Thank you ❤
The every at the end of time song near the end is so deep, it's about the brain crumbling to bits after a fight with dementia, and the same was happening as he died, except it's blood cloth. I love the attention to detail.
Bruhhhhh you cooked again!!! Man the ending started making me tear up…a sad reality of someone’s final moments, yet you did this so well. I’ve known you as the “SpongeBob theory guy” but Alex you are so much more than that (hopefully you see this) Keep up the good work and never let the theories die out or you creativity fizzle!!!
Can we just appreciate the level of care and quality put into these videos? I really like how well put-together everything is and how in a way it sort of feels like a documentary? I love how we get to see Alex's talents in video creation grow and develop through all his theories!!!!!
