Triumph Rocket 3 is, in my opinion, the finest bike on the road. I'm partial because I have a 2016 Triumph Rocket III roadster. It's been highly modified & highly customized. It's all Black, murdered out, has forward controls and 18" apehanger handlebars, etc, etc, etc. I had Carpenter Racing build a full race engine & trans. It has 260hp & 190ft/lbs of torque at the rear wheel. It makes me giggle every time I ride it. It's a Beast and a blast to ride. I live in a mountainous area, and it handles surprisingly well in the twisties. I'm constantly wearing down the scraper nuts on my footpegs and I can keep up with my superbike friends. I'm lucky if I get 3000 miles out of a set of tires. It wouldn't be bad if the damn tires weren't so expensive. I thought about getting the new GT, but I've spent way too much money on this one, besides, I got it right & how I want it. Stay Safe Ya'll!😂
My 2016 Triumph Rocket III burned up in a fire along with my 2014 Triumph Thunderbird LT, my 2013 Mint condition Chevrolet Avalanche Black Diamond LTZ. My Dad gave me his truck 6years ago before he passed away. Irreplaceable!!!😭 Two buildings, my workshop & garage, my carpentry tools, my mechanics tools, antiques, etc., etc., etc.🫣 Probably over $150,000 in loss. So I took insurance money from my Dad's truck, and got myself a 2022 Triumph Rocket 3 triple black GT. I haven't even had a chance to register/tag it yet. I can't wait to make it my own. It's like new! I had to get another Rocket, because once you get the giggle fever, it's just plain addictive! 😅 ❤️ Stay Safe Y'all!
My TFC variant has the same power and torque output. I absolutely love it! The new Storm's look fantastic too. A masterpiece of motorcycle engineering. Had mine for 4 years now, I will top 20,000 miles this year (I have averaged just over 45 mpg). It's not my only bike, but it is are by far and away my favourite. Oh and you are right a quick shifter is a must. As always. great review.
That is a staggering piece of engineering. As a Sixtyone year old in the Tenth year of a mid life crises I may have to have it. Great test as always from you, Thank you.
I averaged 48 mpg on my Rocket GT on a ride up to Bonar Bridge this week - 422 miles with a mixture of twisty roads and some dual carriageway on the A9. Fantastic bike for long rides!
Got to love his enthusiasm! Couldn't understand a word he said, until we turned the video speed down to 3/4 and turned on the subtitles. Pretty sure he was speaking some version of Scottish?. Great bike ;-) it is expensive but who would waste money like that on a Harley? Maybe an V-Max, Indian or Moto Guzzi, but that Rocket is unique.
I was torn between another Harley (Road King), or the Rocket 3. After watching your ride-out on the 3 R (and the Road King), I tested a 3 GT, and absolutely loved it. I contacted William at your showroom, and I am now the proud owner of a red and black beauty I've called Meg. Just like “Tam O’ Shanter’s mear”, she’s only got a stump of a tail, and more than enough power to get me out of trouble…such an exhilarating bike to ride! Keep up the reviews, they are excellent! A quick shifter and / or the panniers are up for consideration at the first service.
Great review Si! I’m looking forward to road-testing the GT on the 19th down here in Manchester. Your review on the 765 RS was also spot on - I’ve had my red one now for a couple of months and it’s bloody awesome, can’t fault it in anyway. Cheers Mark B
@@simotofoto Hi Si, yes indeed the red really pops in the sun 🌞 I did see a couple of reviewers moaning about the TFT screen and, just like you said in your review; I think it’s perfectly fine. I’m thinking a red Rocket 3 GT could keep the RS company in my garage, together with my Gen3 Busa and Indian Scout Bobber 🤙🏻
Hi Si I took the Rocket 3 GT Storm out today and holy phook, what a bike! Your synopsis was bang on the money mate - loved it and it looks like the 765RS is getting a VERY, VERY big brother in the garage. My only gripe was that with sun in the sky for once, the screen is difficult to see. Cheers Mark
It’s just got to be the black/red - that red really pops in the sun. I’ve only just spotted you mentioning that the screen can be tilted to reduce glare. The demo bike today wouldn’t move, but when I get one, I’ll make sure it’s able to tilt. I did miss my glorious Triumph Quick-shifter and will definitely opt for that amongst other things. Just like you said, people are constantly giving you a thumbs up or admiring & passing comment on the Rocket. Cheers Mark
I have 2020 Rocket GT love it so much i didnt pull the trigger to buy the storm because there not much difference beteween the two for a power increase i can ECU flash it and it will make more power than the Storm , love the all black look but i will keep mine for now i have 20,000 km so far and still smile when i ride it. Ride safe mate.
I am right at 80,000 miles on my 2020 GT and I am averaging 37 mpg cumulatively according to the computer. The OP is correct get the quick shifter and a proper windscreen if you plan on riding a lot. As soon as mine wears out I will be replacing it with another Rocket.
Black is where it's at...haha...now imagine if someone customized their R3 to look like a "Lamborghini" bike, the way Ducati did with Lamborghini or the way Bentley did with Ducati. The R3 would be a real looker for sure !!
Last year I was drawn between the 2020 rocket 3 and a bmw r1250rs…got the rs due to the bigger and sturdier panniers and wind protection and have loved it…till they mentioned the storm now I’m drawn too it again 😂
Hey Si How’re you buddy? I’ve not seen any new content for a while. As you know, I took your advice and got myself a new red 765RS and after riding the Rocket 3 GT Storm Edition , I’m trading the Hayabusa in for one in the next couple of months. I took the big girl out for a morning and you were so on the money about the whole riding experience - it’s such an event and I’ve never had as many car drivers asking about/admiring the 🚀! I’m 66 in February and have sadly come to realise, that the big sports bikes are no longer ideal for my achy frame. But hell, the Rocket 3 GT Storm will still blow the cobwebs away 😈 Cheers Mark
Nice one Mark, yeah your right I have been a bit quiet of late, no longer working at West Coast, had a wee change of direction, however, keep your eyes [eeled there will be a few new videos with some new content coming up :) cheers Mark
Oh now I understand. Are you still in the Triumph galaxy? I’ve always enjoyed your road tests - great scenery, great bikes and nice clear information 😊 Look forward to seeing your new content Mark
Great review on this stunning looking beast at 65 it might be a wee bit too powerfull for me but there is only 1 way to find out and go to my local dealer and take it out for a good blast
Did you say you were 6'-8" ?? I played it back a few times but couldn't quite decipher the accent. Trying to guage your height with me being 6'-4". Any issues with legs or hips being cramped? Tks

Thanks man, well jealous of your TFC, that is MEGA
Had a 2020. Ordered a 24 R3 storm GT with same color scheme. Can’t wait 😛. Cheers 🥃🥃
Just a little jealous, but when you get it, let me know, and we'll race😂
Good choice!

Great job with the 360 pano shot and top POV.
Thanks man
23,895 is actually sounding like a very reasonable price these days for something as mental as this anyway
I concur
It's hilarious to think that this is less expensive than a Goldwing LOL.
Con una moto así, qué más se puede pedir? La Rocket 3 GT lo tiene todo, todo. Saludos desde Margos-Perú. Latinoamérica.
Saludos y saludos, gracias por tu comentario, desde la soleada Escocia.
42.5mpg after a year of riding. So happy to own one (GT 2002)

No!!! Don't get a Damn Harley! Please!!!
You will enjoy the Triumph much, much more.
Trust me, because I've been on both sides of that fence.

Thanks ✌️
Looks great. If I didn't love my Thruxton so much, the Rocket 3 could be the bike.
👍 had Thrxtn for 5 Ys, now R3 r, different but would not go back although T was great fun 😢
The Thruxton is mega
What a beautiful piece of machinery.
It sure is!

That is one beautiful BIG bike. I'd love to have one with a Zard exhaust. Mint.
You and me both!
Regarding your question about fuel consumption, I get between 50 and 54 mpg when riding my Rocket 3 R Black on the mountains.
Nice one, thanks for sharing
😮 . I get between 38 and 40 🤔
Great review.
I love that thing 👌.
Isn't it gorgeous
love the review .
Thank you
That is a BEAST!
I know lol
@@simotofoto makes me want to go test ride one lol...
the all black is badass looking
Agreed
Hi again Si
Do I need a white stick 🦯 or have you NOT done a review of the Speed Triple 1200 RS?
Cheers
Mark
Hi Mark, never done the RS done the RR
That’ll be why I can’t find one 😂 I think they’re bringing out a new one for 2025…
Love one of these if not for the price 😮
Great value for money when you consider what your buying :)
How the brake performs in gt ?
Amazing man
Very good. Best I've ever had. Missed two deers other than a love tap that jumped out on me one morning.
Can a quick shifter be added to a bike with helical gears?
Absolutely
Music...?

Yeah 6 foot :)
A Monkey and a Rocket in yer collection, that would be interesting, cheers man.
Sounds like a plan :)
Lovely looking bike and so well engineered. How difficult is it to ride.
Its a breeze to rie Patrick, an absolute dream dude
There's not a better looking bike!😅
Couldn’t agree more ✌🏻
Needs a bagger model.
Yeah for me lol
Can it be your one and only bike ?
