I'm 79 years old and have been riding for 62 years. Have owned 29 motorcycles including a 480 HP modified Boss Hoss. All of my bikes, save one, have been at the very top of the displacement and power range. I've owned Italian, British, Japanese and American machines. I must say that my current Rocket 3 GT is the most gratifying and enjoyable motorcycle I've ever owned. Beautiful, comfortable, fast, smooth and beautifully made! It is really a work of art! The bike also handles far better than its size and weight would suggest.
I have one and it’s very very easy to live with in Spain, great roads, very little rain, great road surfaces and much higher speeds than you can manage on tiny wet Cornish roads. You just don’t feel the weight and it’s remarkably nimble. A reverse gear would be just the icing on a fantastic cake! Thanks Freddie
Yes - was just going to write the same thing - needs a creep reverse gear like the Goldwing and then I would pick the Rocket over the Breakout any day.
@@1990-t1j i have only done 4000kms so too early to say but it’s by far an away the best bike I have ever had. I love the quick shifter and the hill hold is really necessary. I recommend at 200%!

Oh Freddie my heart was in my mouth when you were trying to push back the Triumph with your feet on the marbles, so easy to slip and drop the bike when pushing back, then what looked like a camber on the left once on the slippery grass and carefully guiding it back on the track, all under pressure while Monika is filming you, Freddie you're a survivor.
I rode a 375 kilo Harley for several years. You learn to always back it into a parking space, it becomes routine. Harley also organized Safe Rider’s trainings where you learn to maneuver that heavy beast as if it only weighed half as much. The key was training by instructors who knew their stuff. I don’t know if Triumph organizes trainings for Rocket riders. In any case they should.
Harley dont organize anything. They sell you things. The problem with the American bike test is its a joke. No real riding skill required as long as you can keep the bike up right and do a few quick stops and turns. Its more focused on the written test at the DMV than the riding test.
@@tomakafrankconlon3207 not the class I took. Every state does it differently, and there happens to be 50 states here in case you are wondering. Wow! Freddie, I have been subscribed and watching you guys since the very beginning - acctually your videos and your initiative to move around like to Tenerife, was the inspiration behind me going from Norway to the south of Spain on my motorcycle and I stayed there for 10 months. Fantastic experience! Had a brake from social media and tv, but your positive and dedicated focus on the joy of riding and exploring new places, stayed with me the whole time, often runing into other bikers that also watch your stuff. So thank you! And the quality of your content is really excellent! Congrats on 100k!
Seeing the terror in your eyes when it nearly went tits up was priceless. For a moment I thought you were the son of Alan Partridge. Keep it up. Love it 😂👍
I was thinking buying an Harley to have the badass feel when i ride a motorcycle but i stuble on the Rocket GT model i bought it and let me tell you something people around me at red light or when i take a break for a drink tell me that its a badass motorcycle so yeah its so good looking to me its look like a spitfire figthing airplane of the second world war, with is three cylindres coming off the side of it, for my pals i alway make fun of their 114 ci engine when i said that the Rocket is a 153 cubic inches motor so everything scream BIG on this wonderful machine, great video and hello from Montréal Québec.
Im in the fortunate position of owning both the rocket gt and the sport glide. The rocket is the most comfortable bike I've ever ridden. So much so i chose it over the sport glide for a recent 2000 mile trip in France, average mpg 40. Pootling around at 20 mph I'm surprised you got 29! It blows the sport glide away in every practical way. But on a nice day, flowing unhurried around country bends the sport glide is wonderful and just makes you feel great!
It’s a British beauty. It was born in the rain. My first bike was a 1968 Bonny. My last bike was a 1998 Thunderbird Sport. I now have a new dream for my future. ❤
My oppinion is that the most interesting and important thing of this motorcycle is the fact that it does not have a chain ,and i have to admit that this is a geniuse type of engineering.the motorcyle design probable can be adapted acording to the client ideeas .overall the truth is that it is a quite exceptional proof of engineering.
Both the Triumph and the Harley are headturners extraordinaire! Whichever you choose you are guaranteed to turn heads each time you go out… if that’s your thing and you’re not so worried about the handling/riding limitations then put your money down….. We are lucky to have such a variety of bikes available to us that there’s something for everyone 👍
@@nockianlifter661 that’s my point. If you do then these bikes will tick that box… if you’re not worried about that, then we’re lucky to have so many other bikes to choose from that will tick whatever box you choose 👍
@@matoko123 so do most people, but that’s different to buying it for that purpose. I prefer it if people admire my riding skills and enjoy the group rides that I’ve put together and led. I don’t need the admiration, but it’s nice to get a compliment.
For the Triumph. Looks great. I would love to own one. And now one for Freddie Dobbs. I am amazed how you are smooth with your word's and the gentleman like appearance you give us on your channel . This is why I love watching your channel 👍
Ah still an awesome bike, shame the weather wasn’t on your side as I’m sure you would have had a better ride out, choose between the triumph and the Harley, I’ll have the triumph every day , there’s something nice about owning a triumph, my son has the triumph street scrambler sandstorm after watching an earlier vid of yours and when I rode his triumph it put that smile on my face so went out and bought the 1200 scrambler , thanks for a lovely vid, cheers Mitch
And as a Kiwi who remembers Jonah, and that game, and the games that followed, thank you Freddie for your description of our gentle giant. Well, until you were unfortunate enough to have been standing in his way. All the best for you, Monika, and your channel. Ride safe guys.
My belief (and it's mine) this bike should have been a full dressed tourer for the North American market. With full luggage and top box for a passenger with a Reverse. I have never actually seen a Rocket 3 (new version) on the road in Canada!!! Congrats on the 100K subscribers !!!!!! Well deserved.
I saw one ride slowly past me today brother. I was stopped in my van having lunch and a red one cruised slowly past me, the ground vibrated up to ass via the tyres, suspension and my van seat. I could feel the ground tremble below me. That made my mind up, I need one if I ever tire of my SDR Ktm
I live in Canada (Ontario) and I have a 21 GT but your correct.. never seen another one in over two years I've had mine.. By the way, I would never change the looks by dressing it up with fairing etc. Love it the way it is..
Before we get started... you better be kind Freddie, you know I own the 2022 red tank 442 version and LOVE it! Most incredible tree trunk pulling torque I've ever been on! Even a group of Harley riders asked me at a gas station, "what the hell is this?! Man, that's badass, ain't never seen anything like it!" I simply replied,"neither have I, that's why i bought her!"lol Ron, Yosemite
100% improvement on the old Rocket and a bike that needed to be built, not that I'd buy one, but then there are bikes out there I can admire for just what they are knowing I'd never own one but love that someone does.
Freddie I couldn't live with this bike, I have a BMW R18 Transcontinental and I love my bike, I have just returned from a trip to Portugal and back to Scotland, I bought the bike 10 months ago and I have done 10 thousand miles with it already, and the thing I love most about the bike is it's reverse gear, I couldn't live with it without the reverse gear, don't tell Triumph but I reckon this bike would sell a lot more if it had a reverse gear. Love yours and Monica's work. ❤
Gorgeous machine, I've got one & for me I find 🇬🇧 roads no problems at all, mind you I'm 6ft5 & little over 16st so it's a perfect fit for me, like everything else you learn how to handle it, know what you can do & what you can't & once you have it's like any other lump, wouldn't change it for anything else.
I got the 1 of 1 produced from the factory in White for the TV show, " The righteous gemstone" I got so lucky, and I am so so so grateful to have it. 2021 with 1300 miles and a picture of John Goodman with it.
I bought a new 2021 3R in Nov 21. Wonderful experience. Fantastic bike, Incredible torque, etc etc as you say. I recently swapped it for a 2021 Ducati Diavel 1260s upon mutual agreement. I am not disappointed in the swap, in fact with the Arrow race exhaust the Diavel surpasses the fun factor of the Rocket in many ways. It cannot match the Rocket in some areas eg Planted weight and stability in the wind, mind bending torque of the Rocket which made my stomach turn, classic looks and engineering thoughtfulness. I love both bikes and am glad I experienced it. I love my Diavel, it too is a monster which thrills me every time I ride it. For anyone considering a Rocket. You will not regret it.
Enjoyed the video. I'm 62yo and 5'7". I bought the GT as soon as it was released and absolutely love it. I almost always park it or turn it to avoid the reverse incline dilemma. I tried pushing forward with the front brake on and springing back to assist the movement, like I do with my heavier Harley but the hillstop prevents this cheat code. So, park or turn where it's favourable.
I have been wanting one of these bikes for quite some time. And on 20th July this year of 2023, I Purchased at an unbelievable excellent price a brand new 2022 Triumph Rocket 3 R in KOROSI RED from a Dealer in Florida, a 2-hour drive from where I live. I too noticed after a Sunday morning 2 Hour Dive having a some lower back problem and hip cramping. I had originally thought even before buying the Rocket about acquiring the GT handlebars. No argument that it is a completely different motorcycle of anything I’ve had or that I know of. I can say there are certain pieces of trim on the motorcycle that are absolutely dime store cheap and could’ve been designed for the same amount of money, but much more sturdy, and just as light in weight. My first ride on it I actually was intimidated and asked myself. What have I done??? But now I realize you have to be extra cautious, more so than the every day driving of the caution you need with any motorcycle. And yes, it is absolutely impressive beyond words, it reminds me of a locomotive engine when you’re low in RPM and you want to increase velocity you really don’t need to downshift just twist the throttle and hold on and of course, the engine does sound like a locomotive engine spooling up. If you’re in the upper power band, don’t just lightly twist the throttle unless you’re fully prepared for what’s coming next! Again, it is a marvelous piece of engineered equipment.
Shockingly I’d choose the sport glide over that huge lump. However, today I was riding around the back roads and muddy green lanes on my 130Kg Yamaha Serrow. It’s got an air cooled 2 valve engine with 20hp and tyres that look like they might fit a mountain bike. It can hit 70mph with its five gears and bimble around in top without complaining. I can just about flat knee it, never mind flat foot it-so close to the ground that falling off would hardly be catastrophic for either of us. 70mpg, low road tax and just £30 to add it to my other bikes insurance for the year. We did 70 miles this afternoon, taking us 3 solid hours and I’ve got a grin like a Cheshire Cat. Swap for a Triumph Rocket ? No chance.
Triumph should donate this bike to you! Very poetic review about this unique heroic chromed beast of art, full of cultivated and deserved admiration. One could only worship the engineers creating this glorious lump of technique. A compromiseless bike even in not thinking how to maneuver it in daily riding, no "sorry man, we forgot the reverse"! Maybe Arni in his good days . . . .? For me, as you said, no comparison to any other bike. Harley's Breakout is a totally different approach, the same as BMW's R18. I personally would not even dare to ride it. You're a very brave man ;-).
I was lucky to find one of these about a year ago, there's no dealer where I live. And it is awesome to live with if you're not bothered about fuel and parking😅- and Im not. Not only does it look good and go fast, it has much better brakes and handles quite well opposed to similar bikes. Mind you, I don't have any B-roads around here. To me there's no other bike quite like it.
wow thats a captivating intro, never seen anything like this in the motorbike review side of youtube. And what a segment this is from 5:18, with the rain, the music, the ambience, the photography. Its like from a movie. 9:46 I felt that. You have a fantastic voice btw, like a radio voice or voice actor level
During the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride Amsterdam 2023, there was shown a Triumph Rocket 3R Supercharged: 307 horsepower and 341 Nm torque (Roké Motors). It was a beast. A very impressive bike 😁
I just go a 2016. Love it. I don't understand why they built this huge motorcycle with ergonomics for little short men. I'm 6'4. It looks like the new ones are the same. I'm getting a forward control kit soon. Hope that helps. Love the power.
The Mike Tyson of motorcycles! Would love to own one just for a year. But sadly you couldn’t have had worse weather for a bike like this. Would always pick this or frankly any Triumph over HD
Jonah Lomu! I met him in the gym one day. He was offseason, so was not his playing weight of 118kg, or so...he was 140kg! My two legs together were not as big as one of his legs! I am a bodybuilder, all be it a short one. My legs were about 25 inches back then. Great video Freddie! Cheers.
I tell you this : the best way to get out of trouble like at 10:55 (parked/stopped in slope) is to put the bike in first and give the bike a good short acceleration but brake immediatly after the forwards movement of the bike ) !! you will get a reverse movement of the bike (action - reaction effect !) that will get you further backwards than before ... repeat multiple times and you will have the possibility to turn normally forwards ..... sorry for my english as I am french !! and I had a R3R so I know what I am talking about !! have a good ride !!!
And the funny thing is I had the old Rocket 3 roadster for a weekend and I didn't have any problems as long as you thought and planned well ahead. I even took it over the tight twisty road between Rivington and Belmont with no issues, but a lot of head turning. I wouldn't have been so bold in the rain though, but on motorways I found it rock solid and awesome to ride. Can only imagine how the latest version is. In fairness the bike is far more suited to flat areas. 👍
Aww, Freddie, bravo! Your descriptions in all your videos are so unique! You did her justice, I've ridden all kinds of bikes...my '22 red tank 442 (with all those cool specs in silver stencil on the tank, just tops her off, sets her apart from them all. But, that silver tank is mesmerizing!
I feel your pain Freddie moving that big lump about its very frustrating and dangerous if your not use to it ….I once got my plump wife in shopping trolley after she’d had several bottles of Chardonnay….so I can relate
Ohh Freddie & Monika, thanks for your fantastic work in the rain! Much appreciated. The weather some how suited the tempest beast. Personally Freddie, I’d take the Harley… there’s something classically old school about those & you’d need a reversing gear too!😉😎🤙 Ohh, congratulations on 100K subs too! Cool stuff guys from the coolest people 🙌
Sport glide for sure; comfort, style, handling and all the power that you can actually use.... No contest. If money was no issue and you are a motorcycle collector than you'll want both.
Rocket. Definitely, a Rocket over any HD - the build quality is amazing: the quality justifies the price. I was leaning towards a Diavel but once I saw this in person, I set my sights on the R3. At 6’2”, 100 kilos, I have concerns about the forward strain over time in the saddle on the R3; however, I’m not a fan of the forward pegs on the GT - so time will tell. Yes, a reverse would be nice. There are many courses on how the better handle baggers with comparable weight, offered by the police or others (in the States). So, will check that out.
I took the R3 GT. It’s extremely comfortable even for long rides. It took me just a few minutes to adjust to the forward pegs coming from a Speed Triple. You could always swap the handlebars on the R, or the pegs on the GT, it’s easy to do.
What Harley did you have in mind when you compared it‘s comfort? I‘ve owned a 2017 Low Rider S and I‘ve just ridden a Low Rider ST, a Breakout and a Street Bob. I did not find those more comfy than the Rocket.. However, I‘m only 6ft1. And for daily living: it‘s a 300kg+ bike. You have to have that in mind. All. The. Time. But this goes for every bike in that weight category.. The Rocket is just faszinating. A rolling superlative.
Great review. I was at the 95 world cup in Cape Town. Lomu was brutal as is this bike. You should try a BMW K1600. 160 hp, silky smooth 6 cylinder engine and a slightly clunky gearbox. But what a joy to ride.
I have both the K1600b and Rocket 3 GT. The riding experience is totally different. K1600 sounds like a jet engine, while the GT has that raw, high displacement engine. For me the K1600 is less maneuverable, while I am perfectly comfortable riding in town on the GT.
I had one for a couple of months but changed it to a bobber, I loved it but for London traffic commute wasn't the best.. to big! I'm 6'3" and 105 kg, didn't had any issues muscle it💪👍
Thanks Freddie, Monica and Triumph for an engaging video. If forced to choose between the Rocket and the Sport Glide, I'd opt for the latter, because it is so much more useful as a means of transport and still not over bad as a bike for showing off on. In reality, both those models are way out of my present budget. No more than about £4000 would be needed to respawn my biking career with another BMW R1150RT, to replace the one I sold 1" years ago. Or I could get a nice used Harley for something in the region of £5000 - £8000. But to move onwards rather than backwards, I'd probably look for a versatile medium sized Japanese bike.
@@HelloJamesBond I used to commute on my Harleys all year round. Later I would put them away until spring, after the first scary slide of winter. I also toured all over Europe. These days though, my personal means of road transport is a car.
Had to pause about 10:50... ROFL I'm watching this video at maybe one in the morning California time, and had to try not to wake up my family from laughing my butt off as Freddie's trying to back that thing up, lol! I'm a little more fortunate than he is, I'm a bit bigger, but he is not exaggerating as he's trying to pull that thing back out of the way! Aww, I did need this laugh though. Sorry Freddie! Thank you both so much for not editing that out! Yep, screw it, just push it forward into the grass, you'll get her out of there, lol.
To answer your last question Freddie, a Harley-Davidson all day long. 351 weeks of the year, they are seriously great bikes to ride and not leave sitting in a garage... For the last week, as purely a novelty and expression of excess to experience on "the right road at the right time in the right place" I'd just "hire" a Rocket 3. I hope that makes your decision a little easier if you are contemplation on purchasing a newer bike. Living with the newer platform M8 engined Harley Davidson is an absolute pleasure. They just lap up the miles effortlessly without putting physical or mental demands on the rider. I love mine 🥰 and I'm sure if you went in that direction you won't be disappointed.
Wow!! Beautiful looking machine Freddie. But as you demonstrated it’s just not practical for every day use . Saying that I’d love one in the garage just to ride out now and again when I felt brave enough ! I honestly thought you were going to drop it when you had to ride on the grass verge 😮. Pity your not riding that back to Ipswich, would have loved to meet you at the Suffolk food hall on my Indian Chief Dark Horse Bobber for a drag race 😂😂
Hi Freddie, great review thank you - leaves me wondering why Triumph have chosen not to give this huge bike a reverse gear? Perhaps the cost of tooling up for a gear box with a reverse gear was just too high? Who knows.
I agree, especially as the BMW R18 has a reverse gear. Though it is IMHO a bit fiddly to operate and not always easy to engage. I think an electronic engagement or at least something handlebar mounted would be optimum on such an expensive bike.
Firstly - congrats on the 100K. As for the Triumph - well, a triumph of the extreme. A colossus! Not sure I'd like either as a daily ride, and I'd only ever want to own one bike. Fab review!
I'm looking to sell my R1 and get a Rocket. Got one from the dealer for a couple days to ride with. It's an amazing bike, and very comfy I found, certainly way more than the R1! I've actually sold the R1. And got the Rocket! Very easy to live with bike. Watch your footing, and watch where you park. Other than that, it spoiled all other motorcycles for me. My first question always is, does it have a 2.5 liter engine? It dont? Yea, sorry, not much of interest at all. It will completely change your riders perspective. You are now the Apex Predator, there's nothing for you to prove. Cars, bikes, you eat everyone alive! It's a glorious bike to ride, and as I always say, it's insane it exists, and it's wonderful that it does!
I'm an ex pat living in Australia and I have one. It's perfect for us over here with our roads, the one thing significant though and it's a bit silly but none of the boy racers sit next to you at the lights trying to tempt you into a race, if anything they hang back or just avoid eye contact completely. It's like being the big kid on the street that no one argues with.
i have this bike with the swept back handlebars and the forward foot controls its really a comfortable cruiser/muscle bike. but as you experienced, i wish it had a reverse gear lol.
I have the 2023 chrome r edition. Running it in I was pleasantly surpised with 48.3 mpg highway (5.85 l/100km). Beautifully balanced and lots of fun in twisties, you just need to keep in mind all that extra momentum. Same goes for low speed manouvering - plan ahead. If you end up adjusting the bars keep in mind that the stops do not prevent the bottom of the brake and clutch lever mounts from hitting the tank in the lowest bar position, and there is about 3mm extra flex on top of that
Great videos brother, you've probably been called the David Attenborough of motorcycling before I'm guessing! Am now sub'd oh and Harley Davidson Sport Glide all day long🤙
Hi Freddie, about 9 years ago I purchased a new Diaviel, Ducati and Bugatti are all part of the VW Group, so the engineers brief was to make the bike faster accelerating than the Veron whose 0 to 60 was 2.5 seconds. It achieved a 2.49 time, which beats the Rocket. The formula is power to weight, the Rocket may be faster accelerating at 100mph plus to its top speed, but how fast would the ride become…. too much wind blast ? I cruised on the Diaviel at 135 mph on the autobahn, but I had a touring screen. The name for the Ducati in English is devil, after 120mph the air box gives off a banshee wail, well named Enjoyed the video, glad you didn’t drop it, it looked a handful. Beautiful work of art.
I would love to have this beast in my garage, but the only Rocket I have ever seen in the Dallas area was being trailered around as if it was a Harley. Kind of speaks to its practicality, I think.
Neck snapper in more ways than one. My first bike was '01 790cc Bonneville so I'm am Triumph man at heart. I've thought of trading in my '15 Diavel for this new Rocket. Head to head power wise but a world of differences. Beauty & speed goes to Diavel. Tech, refinement, long road worthiness and that Triumph class. Another great video, cheers to you both.
Basically it´s a bike everyone (me included - will do end of August) want to ride at least once. But the price, the low fuel economy, some gremlins reported in T forums plus maintenance and tyre cost keep even those who could afford it away from it. @ Freddie - well done review - had to giggle when I saw you trying to reverse the bike - I struggle the same with my TEX with panniers fully loaded - even the slightest gradient makes it impossible. Stay safe
Hi Freddie, thanks for a really good video, i borrowed a Rocket 3GT from Staffordshire Triumph, while my 2018 Triumph Speedmaster was in for service, (from my experience they do a very good job to) my thoughts at the time were, what an incredible machine, it was very easy to ride and handle, very comfotable for me at 5`10`` and 70 yrs old, it was really good at very slow, very fast and everything in between speeds, it is a "head snapper" as you put it, mpg is like everything else on the road with more generous CCs, give it some welly and you can hear them drinking, when i first reved it up i was surprised to feel the bike twich to the left because of all that torque, the only time ive experienced that was with my old 4.7 ltr Jeep.
This motorcycle could really do with a reverse gear like the big Harley's and the r18! Brilliant review as usual Freddie - your standards are unmatched in this game as far as i'm concerned.
Rocket is tempting as a loony bike but to be honest I wasn’t gushing over it when a friend of a friend came out with us on a ride. I just don’t think you can beat a Harley for their looks. That said I think I’d have the softail standard over sport glide. Looks awesome and a lot cheaper!
I admire ingenuity and style when it comes to bikes. I've never owned a bike, and if I ever do, it's not going to be a Harley. To me, Harleys are just OK, they look, dare I say, a little boring, and antiquated. This Triumph is nicer than any bike Harley has ever put out.
It's a cute baby to mine. Check out the boss hoss bikes. Mine is a 502 inch big block. That's around 8.22 liters. Not a practical bike but it sure is fun. You guys did an amazing job filming this one. The rain added to the cinematic side of it.
Wow there's the video to watch. I have my R pocket 3r in my livingroom. ❤waiting for warm weather. No moisture on my bike. I took the windshield off which I'm happy I did. Your video sure is good.
I've watched you for a bit. Your presentation style has matured into the upper echelon. Your knowledge and content are as top-notch as the bike you've just reviewed. As much as I love it I know it's beyond my capabilities. There are other Triumphs more in my wheelhouse, so to speak. Someone said it should be bagged for the North American market. I couldn't disagree more. It's perfect as it is. Looking forward to more incredible content. Thank you.

And the classes vary depending on where you take your course throughout each state. So as an American I can confidently say you are talking out of your @$$. 😊
@@Pro--ng3nv I had a Wisconsin then Nevada and lastly 9 years ago in Illinois . Before that a English and German license . Do you know the difference between a class and doing the actual test? What state would you like me to educate you about motorcycle license tests?.
@@tomakafrankconlon3207 Yes please educate me. I'm an American. 3 piece patch. Club founder. 2 of my Brothers own their own schools. I was even asked to come work as an instructor and have been endorsed all of my adult life. The classes here teach counter steering, stopping in corners, all functions of the motorcycle, proper braking, stopping, take off. By the end the students are doing figure 8's alternating between riders. Cornering techniques, etc. All the fundamentals of proper rider. Including head positions and the difference between riding and driving by where you look. Also obstacle avoidance. This isn't even the advanced course, but during the endorsement course. So...... Like I said, your general comment above is most definitely talking out of your @$$. 😁
@@tomakafrankconlon3207 I'm in Washington state btw. You cannot get your endorsement in this state without taking the riders safety course anymore. I have been riding long enough that I remember when you could get endorsed without it, but I opted to take the motorcycle safety course back then in 2000. I was 20 then, I'll be 44 this year, yes I know the difference and you can argue until your blue in the face. Doesn't make you right. It's not the case here.
Still I don't understand why it has no reverse gear.
Good point. Weight saving and simplicity was my initial thought.
That’s a work of art
I have an old model. I'm well versed at not getting into places where I need reverse. But it would be nice
I have a 900lb Honda goldwing without reverse. I am a big dude, so it not too bad.
I’m comfortable without reverse and I’ve owned one for 3 years now. Pretty easy to manoeuvre, the weight is low and so is the seat height at 773 mm.
During the Triumph factory tour, we were told this is the only bike that their tester of 20 years has ever got a speeding ticket on!
Everyone should do the Triumph factory tour and museum visit..brilliant 👍🏻
Im in the fortunate position of owning both the rocket gt and the sport glide. The rocket is the most comfortable bike I've ever ridden. So much so i chose it over the sport glide for a recent 2000 mile trip in France, average mpg 40. Pootling around at 20 mph I'm surprised you got 29! It blows the sport glide away in every practical way. But on a nice day, flowing unhurried around country bends the sport glide is wonderful and just makes you feel great!
Watchable, credible, entertaining....
Monica & her sidekick are the real deal.......
Congratulations on 100k!! You & monica deserved it! Next up 1 mil
It’s a British beauty. It was born in the rain. My first bike was a 1968 Bonny. My last bike was a 1998 Thunderbird Sport. I now have a new dream for my future. ❤
i was like.... "why he is filming in the rain Like its nothing? then i remembered you are in UK🤣
Trust me, you cannot waste your time waiting for a dry day here!🇬🇧
That’s why our country is green and beautiful instead of a dust bowl
Do you really need to turn heads ?
@@nockianlifter661 that’s my point. If you do then these bikes will tick that box… if you’re not worried about that, then we’re lucky to have so many other bikes to choose from that will tick whatever box you choose 👍
@@reinmansmith ok 👍
@@nockianlifter661 I love it when people admire my bike :) Admittedly it doesn't happen than often on my naked Bandit 1200 ;)
Ride mine to work most days through Somerset lanes!Once used to it can peg scrape😁😁
I agree.
Full touring version will be coming soon.
Lone rider touring is perfect for me as it is but I agree, 2 up = you need a tourer.
I live in Canada (Ontario) and I have a 21 GT but your correct.. never seen another one in over two years I've had mine.. By the way, I would never change the looks by dressing it up with fairing etc. Love it the way it is..
A bike for the ego only then. Congratulations On the 100.000 Freddie, your making great videos.
Puts my vtx 1800c to shame. Lol... The rocket is something else... Great video 👌👍
Before we get started... you better be kind Freddie, you know I own the 2022 red tank 442 version and LOVE it!
Most incredible tree trunk pulling torque I've ever been on!
Even a group of Harley riders asked me at a gas station, "what the hell is this?! Man, that's badass, ain't never seen anything like it!"
I simply replied,"neither have I, that's why i bought her!"lol
Ron, Yosemite
Definitely go for the Rocket, sorry about our Cornish weather!! 🌧️🌧️🌧️
Picked up my new Rocket 3GT today. One word…… sublime!
I got the 1 of 1 produced from the factory in White for the TV show, " The righteous gemstone" I got so lucky, and I am so so so grateful to have it. 2021 with 1300 miles and a picture of John Goodman with it.
It’s a bike for the living room. Gorgeous, better than any TV.
Interesting, don’t like the look of the Diaval or the riding position but I am sure it has its merits.
Enjoy every moment!
Sorry for all the rain and cold there. Behemoth bike Wow!!
We didn’t pick the finest week for Cornwall!
No chance.
And I’d much rather have the Rocket. Each to their own.
@@triumphthunderbird1 There was a time I’d have chosen the Rocket too.
I’ve watched a lot of reviews of this bike but yours seems to be the most comprehensive one, thanks !
I've got one, awesome machine . Can't fault it 😁😁👍👍
Congratulations on 100k Freddie ! Love that someone from my local area has built up such a successful channel !
That was one of the most beautiful, brutal, honest introductions I've ever seen.
God.
I, just now, almost abandoned my family to buy this bike
After taking a look at the Rocket 3, the british weather is only the second moist thing here. Awesome bike!
The analogy to Jonah Lomu is perfect!
wow thats a captivating intro, never seen anything like this in the motorbike review side of youtube.
I really enjoy your channel… I look forward to your work every week… I think your storytelling is excellent!! 👍
What an absolute piece of art and it couldn’t have been explained any better, so thank you Freddie really appreciated it.
The reversing scene is really fun 😅 this bike makes no sense at all except of showing off a gigantic engine
New term for a great looking bike " A head snapper"...like it, and totally agree
Congratulations on 100k subs Freddie and Monika too. Well deserved.
Agreed about the Roadster. A ride I enjoyed more than any other. [Nick J]
11:32 It was at this moment Mr Dobbs realised he had left the misses behind 😂
I’m in awe of this machine but, those rear foot pegs are just orgasmic! 👍🏻
But to move onwards rather than backwards, I'd probably look for a versatile medium sized Japanese bike.
means of transport? surely not
@@HelloJamesBond I used to commute on my Harleys all year round. Later I would put them away until spring, after the first scary slide of winter. I also toured all over Europe.
These days though, my personal means of road transport is a car.
This isn’t a head turning bike! This is a neck snapper! ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT! Love it!
I take it this stunning ike isn’t built for the working man?
Freddie, you've really improved over the year. I enjoy your videos and perspective. Always look forward to your next video.
Spectacular bike, and an awesome review Freddie
Had to pause about 10:50... ROFL
I'm watching this video at maybe one in the morning California time, and had to try not to wake up my family from laughing my butt off as Freddie's trying to back that thing up, lol!
100K subs nice one Freddy - excellent review of the Rocket 💪
i love how REAL this vid was! Thank you. I can see myself getting stuck in that same situation haha
Your articulate and sophisticated delivery is a breathe of fresh air in these type of reviews. A new subscriber here...
The name for the Ducati in English is devil, after 120mph the air box gives off a banshee wail, well named
Enjoyed the video, glad you didn’t drop it, it looked a handful.
Beautiful work of art.
I would love to have this beast in my garage, but the only Rocket I have ever seen in the Dallas area was being trailered around as if it was a Harley. Kind of speaks to its practicality, I think.
Probably the best video I've seen on the Rocket 3. Thank you. Would love to see a video on the Scrambler 1200's!!
Well done, a great rundown of one awesome machine.
Thanks Gary, really glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks
Beautiful. I'd have one in the garage as a second bike but just short of £20k.
For looks? The obsolete Victory Judge is cooler than any Harley :)
Thank you.
