Thank you so very much for the summer update. I hope that you are continuing to have fun and enjoying yourself in that last month of summer that is left in the year. I go for a morning walk of 45 minutes each morning (between 5-5:30 AM in the summer due to the heat and in the cooler/colder months around 10 AM) I have not missed a single day since November 2019. I have all sorts of weather gear so even though I look foolish to others it keeps me dry. Your balcony looks really cozy and picturesque for living in the city and the added bonus of being able to container plant vegetables is wonderful!

Olive oil prices are also crazy in Australia. We are not vegan but I have a serious dairy allergy, but not my husband. We both love vegan Magnum. Husband prefers the vegan Magnum over dairy Magnum as it is much creamier.

So interesting how the prices of the veggies differ back in Europe compared to the US, those radishes and tomatoes were super cheap, but the bananas expensive! I lived in Bavaria and worked as an English teacher, so love all your grocery store videos, they bring back nice memories of my youth. Olive oil prices through the roof here too, so it seems to be a global issue, I guess it's tied to the war and lack of sunflower oil and the bad harvest. Lack of shampoo bars is probably because of the oil price hikes too. I had to close my shampoo bar business earlier this year after being in business for 8 years, as the price for oils was so high it was no longer financially viable. So sad, but moving on to other things, including creating jewelry from recycle materials, which I love! Keeping plastic and metal out of the ocean! <3 Recycling here when I live ( a small town in the US) is part of our trash collection and we have one bin for regular garbage and one for recyclables. The town also collects lawn clippings and organic waste every Wednesday which they use to create fertilizer for the local parks, we are very blessed to have that here.

The olive oil is due to bad harvest. As someone of Italian heritage, I got lucky and bought my year supply of oil right before the prices were raised because of this. I’m gonna cry if prices go up next year cause it’s one of my few ‘I need this on hand at all times’ things.

I live in the USA. Recycling varies by city. Some cities make it easy others make it hard. We take our recyclables to the recycling bins which require a car because it’s 3 miles away, which is about 5km. My city is not walkable and about twice a month a pedestrian dies on the main road by my house. So as much as I’d like to make it a priority it’s not. I live in a street the connects the bay to the beach so I would think they’d want to protect it.

Here in belgium have almost all the plastics a recyclesymbol that i can put in the recyclebag

It’s interesting to me the way things are pronounced in other places! The way you say ‘tahini’ is how this Mexican spice blend is pronounced and it’s spelled ‘tajin’. I’m in the US so for us, we say tahini with equal emphasis on each part of the word (I think, proper grammar rules was never my strong suit lol)

Elkos and Nature Box brands use ingredients such as SLS, sodium benzoate, Polyquaternium-7 and more. Please don't be tricked by their packaging. So many dangerous and toxic ingredients. As someone who is highly sensitive to sodium benzoate, I learned to read ingredients on packaging! Watch out for your safety and health! Better to make your own products easily and environmentally friendly if that is your passion, without so much chemical junk.

Thank you for an EXCELLENT recipe series! I found it AMAZING how you were right on the budget. A couple of questions...since it is just the two of you when you are done making these meals, do you just put them in the refrigerator or do you freeze some; secondly I have always used tins/cans for beans because of convenience, do the dried beans you use taste better even though they are more work?

There are so many bio degradable options, why do we allow non-biodegradable plastic onto the market? They make biodegradable plastics now. Look how far people came with straws, it can happen. We switched to re-usable metal straws & I prefer them actually
