  • Budget Challenges are sometimes quite extreme - and that's why we like them and watch them. But if you don't want to be that extreme and have a bit of extra wiggle room in your budget, why not try to live on 100 € a month? It's still pretty frugal, you can save a lot of money, but you can be a bit more relaxed about your budget.
And since one of my viewers specifically asked about such a realistic budget video, I'm happy to oblige. In fact, this will be part one of a longer series. :)

Yummy week! Nice to see a more "typical" budget that uses up those forgotten pantry/fridge items before they have to be discarded/wasted.

Very interesting... At first I thought that 100€ is to small of a budget for a month but them I realised that my monthly budget is between 400€ and 500€ for 3 people and includes cleaning and hygiene products, and also because I have a toddler that included diapers (we are just out of that phase, thanks God!), extra snacks and extra variety of fruit and also fish for dinner at half for the days... when we were just a couple our budget were much smaller especially because we often had meatless meals.
Its true that I'm in a different country (Portugal) but many prices are pretty much the same, so I'm quiet proud of my budget know... ☺

Very interesting vlog - I really enjoy seeing what people from other countries eat, and so pleased to see someone from a Euro nation embracing baked beans! Hint - try them with a fried or poached egg on top - cheap, even more nutritious AND delicious! I too love bananas with bread, preferably on toast with a drizzle of honey, mmmmm. Good to see that you’re not overwhelmed by the budget, I feel that learning to live within whatever means you have is a vital skill, and your meals look lovely.

I was happy to see that you approach food with critical thinking. I haven't seen any people on the internet use food that is wrinkly, past the expiration date, etc. I usually buy a lot of tofu at a time and I have eaten a year old tofu even :D if tofu gets bad, it's very evident 😂 great video!

Thank you for the series. Its forced me to take a good hard look at what we were spending as there has been some serious creep.
Not vegan but i dont think that should stop people making the recipes. We love crispy tofu with noodles.
Managed to do the weekly shop for £26 for two this week just using you as inspiration so thank you

My partner and I are both Italian American so hearing that you like to have a kilo of pasta made me laugh. We have probably three or four times that for the two of us on a pretty regular basis 😂 but I put us on a pasta buying freeze till we use it up to properly rotate my pantry stock. To be fair, we live in a town with very limited pasta selections in the minds of 2 Italians so when we go farther away, I stock up on what we can’t get in our area.
Great video for pantry use up inspiration. Going to have to go through my stuff as well as you did yours and get mine started!

Such a really good start for part 1 of 4. My question for you though is how do you transport all those items while riding your bicycle? By that, I mean the weight and bulk of the items; to me, it seems on the harder side to maneuver and transport. When I do not feel like driving to the store and only need to get a few things I utilize my backpack and fill it up with maybe 15 lbs or so and it is a 3-mile trip to the store so it is 6 miles round trip. Anyway...I look forward to seeing the rest of the series.

Thank you, Mark! :) I have a basket on the luggage rack of my bicycle, and if that is not enough, I'll use my backpack for the rest. It's a bit more difficult to maneuver, that is correct, but it's OK.
For me, walking 6 miles with 15 lbs on my back would definitely be harder. :)

@@CocosUniverse I had envisioned that you had a basket for the items and so glad that you have that. A million years ago when I had a motorcycle, I had a saddle bag that had a good amount of space on each side for "whatever crazy" items I carried back then. For me the good news is the first three miles is a breeze with no weight, just the return trip is the harder part, only because of the bulkiness and the people gawking. I walk for 40 minutes every day anyway each morning no matter what the weather is like. I have been doing that since Sept 2019.

What is being shown here are very good recipes that MOST people can afford. VERY FEW are actually eating nutritional food. The food industry has been pushing "processed food" for decades in the name of convenience and price. You need a dictionary to figure out the ingredients on most products bought at the grocery store. All in the name of corporate profits and the pharma industry to keep people SICK.
