Just a tip on the boxed pizza: mix the pizza dough in the morning and refrigerate it all day while you're gone. It has yeast in it and that needs time to rise and develop flavors. It tastes much better and gives a headstart on your dinner.

Hi Jen! Thank you for this video. I love shopping hauls on a budget to see how other families put meals together. I enjoyed how you budgeted everything out without the feeling that times are tight right now. I'm from NY, and I have never made tater tot casserole before. I'm going to give it a try. I love making what my RUclips friends are cooking because I feel as if I shared in the dinner with you. Is that crazy? ❤

Just a tip, Costco has the organic string cheese, double the number of cheese sticks, for half the price. They taste fantastic (Kraft tastes like chemical filled plastic to me) and are a better deal than the bag of 8-12 at the grocery (non-organic.) Also, I picked up a bread maker at our thrift store (and see them there regularly) and it makes it very easy, just put the ingredients in, and 90 min to 3 hrs later, it’s done with no babysitting (also makes pizza dough, etc) tastes a lot better than store bread (which the decent kind is $5-7 a loaf here) freezes well, so that is a faster way to get inexpensive, healthy bread. Bread maker was $6 at thrift store.

I never even thought to grab one of those salad kits. 🤦🏻‍♀🤦🏻‍♀ After watching this video I went to the Walmart website to see what ingredients are in some of those and some actually sound really good. Do the salad kits make family sized salads or more for one person? I would be the only one eating it so wondering would the kits make too much.
