Totally get not doing a pantry inventory every week, but it might be interesting to do another one at the end of your 100€ month just to see if it’s really different or if it’s still about the same as when you started.
@@CocosUniverse i think if you just showed what was left out of the weeks purchased ingredients that would be interesting, to see if you used it all, got close, or possibly bought too much (ignoring the times it’s an intentional stock up due to a good sale)
I'm so glad to have stumbled across this! For the next 2 months my food budget is $90 a month ($100 w/tax) so this is just in time to give me ideas, especially bc I'm vegan
Such a colorful, tasty, and plentiful week of nutritious recipes. You are absolutely right insofar as making multiple servings so that you have something right away when you get home and hungry. It just makes life so much less stressful. 😎
So many versatile meals. The chili over pasta is good too. zero waste (the lettuce wrapping ) is hardly attainable these days, but kudos for trying. Fairly new to your channel & enjoying your content!
The fact that your food prices in Germany are basically the same as food prices here in Latvia blows my mind because the salaries are nowhere on the same level.
Other things are more expensive though, so it's all a bit relative. You should see the food prices in the UK, even lower. I'd also like to point out that our food prices are lower than all of our neighbours', though they are fairly average when it comes to all of Europe. That being said, the German grocery market is the most competitive in the world, or one of the most. There is a lot of pressure on companies to keep the prices low. The win margins of both the stores and the companies that sell the food to the stores are lower than in pretty much all other countries. We have four big players, a lot of other countries only have two, and they all have a market share that is big enough to give each of them a lot of leverage when dealing with big name companies (and German stores have no issue with banning certain brands from their shelves for six months, if that company doesn't lower their prices), and they are all trying to win over the customers. It's the reason that the regular stores sell all of their basic shelf stable things for the same price as the discount stores. If they didn't, they'd lose customers.
Oh, the Thermomix is more than a 1000 € here in Germany as well, but we didn't buy it ourselves. It was a gift from my in-laws. And well, since we have it, we use it. It is a great appliance, but everything I cook could be made without the Thermomix as well. :)
Yes, only groceries, nothing else. I have made a lot of grocery budget challenge videos before that video, which is why I didn't feel the need to specify. :)
There are vegan Worcestershire sauces available - I know the original recipe uses fish as an ingredient, but most Worcestershire sauces on the German Market are vegan. :)
If u freeze the chili, try it over a baked pototoe next week. Its good.
Cabbage steaks are good too.
Cabbage steaks is what I thought, too! I made that years ago once, really need to make it again. :)
This series is great! Not being "bare bones" is really giving you some room to have interesting and tasty meals.
Thank you! :) And yes, I absolutely love it!

Good idea, will do that! :) And I thought I'll not do a full pantry tour each time, but maybe just a quick overview over what is left.

I didn't know that! That's aweful!

I came across this video
When you say you live on $100 month, what does that cover? Groceries?

Worcestershire sauce is not veggie/vegan friendly x

@@CocosUniverse Then it isn't Worcestershire x
