All the photos in my videos are edited using RNI Films for iPad. I use a very subtle Portra 400 film emulation and then make all the normal adjustments to highlights, shadows, contrast, etc. I used this cameras “Chrome” preset as well. Thanks for watching!

Thanks! I'm still seeing the Camp Snap for sale on their website for $65 but I'm sure there are other places where it's going for $90 or more due to high demand and low supply. But you're absolutely right - there are plenty of very inexpensive old digicams that have unusable screens but reliable optical viewfinders and you can basically get the same thing for much less. $15 is a small price to pay for simple digicam stills - especially with a CCD sensor. @@somephotovideos I get that. Wonderful all around. It’s so funny I’ve bought this camera twice and sold it but here I am recently waiting for another to come in the mail. Finally realizing after buying and selling so many cameras, looking at my LR catalogue helped me realize what i didn’t want anymore was a Leica (which I sold digital and film) Fuji, Sony, Ricoh GR’s as well etc. I just want the 8.1mp Grd and my Polaroid cameras. I guess the Polaroid film will make up for the price of the high end bodies 😅

@@coloring_again Yeah, I’ll be keeping my GR Digital II forever and it helps that I only paid $80 for it. My biggest issue with it though is dust on the sensor. A new spot emerged since I made this video, and I’ll have to take it apart to clean it off. Funny you mention Polaroid… I just bought a two-pack of 600 at Wal-Mart for $30 when just about 6 months ago I’m pretty sure I paid $40. I don’t know that I’ll use Polaroid for my work, but I absolutely love it for big family events like a kids b-day, the 4th of July, etc.

@@somephotovideos the sensors are annoying to clean for Ricoh cameras. I’ve had success with a blower sometimes otherwise I just edit it out. Buying Polaroids from targets are a hit or miss at least for mine. If it’s a ghetto target I don’t have faith that they’ll store it correctly or leave out film that’s nearly two years old. I try to buy straight from Polaroids site as much as possible since it’s been produced within months and they store it in their giant fridge! Also it’s cheaper and you get rewards points.

So glad you like the look! I’d love to make a video about the process but that kind of video doesn’t quite fit the vibe of the channel. I noted in the end credits (and in the description) that I use the RNI Films for iPad app (also available for iPhone) to do a muted Kodak Portra 400 film emulation. Definitely check it out!

It’s part of a plug-in by MotionVFX called mFilm Matte. It’s a simple “Zoom In” adjustment layer.

I love the 360 HS. Such a good camera. The hardest part about getting the look of my photos is understanding how to use the spot meter on the camera to preserve your highlights when you’re shooting. It’s really easy with these digicams to use the auto settings and mistakenly expose for your shadows which often blows out your highlights. Once you have that figured out, you can use the RNI Films app on your iPhone or iPad to apply their Portra 400 film emulation and then reduce the strength from 100 to around 25. And then adjust highlights, shadows, saturation, color temp, etc.

@@Promikes Thanks! I’d take a look at Canon’s PowerShot SX line of cameras. It’s a combo of the G series and their more auto-centric digicam lineup. The SX series gives you the pocketability of a digicam but the full manual controls of the G series. I have several SX cameras. The SX230 HS, SX610 HS, and the SX700 HS. All have CMOS sensors but it’s possible the early SX cameras have CCD. I love that these cameras allow for full manual control. If full manual isn’t as much of a concern, take a look at the PowerShot SD series. I really like the PowerShot SD1100 because it has the Positive Film creative preset.

Yes. Edited with the RNI Films app for iPad. I use their Portra 400 film emulation and I reduce the strength of it significantly and then edit all the normal stuff like highlights, shadows, saturation, etc.

None of my videos showcase footage from the SX230, but for a digicam it does have pretty decent 1080p 16:9 video. Would I use it for creating content? Maybe. Only if I was trying to go for a retro vibe with my footage. You’re better off looking at an HD Sony Handycam or Canon camcorder in my opinion. You can get those on eBay or Facebook Marketplace pretty inexpensively.

Good call. When I went over the bridge I started shooting a ton because that kind of aerial perspective combined with the starkness of the lot that dumpster was 🙌 That shot is one of my favorites from the walk as well.

Yup, that’s exactly right. I had parked just east of 13th St. and walked close to 5 miles round trip from Little Bohemia to west downtown back through central downtown. It was great to be out making photos for most of the day. Thanks for coming over to this channel and watching!

All of the photos in my videos are edited using the RNI Films app for iPad (I cite this in the end credits). I apply their Portra 400 film emulation that I’ve customized in order to reduce the strength of the emulation. I also adjust exposure, highlights, shadows, etc. to get the images where I want them. While SOOC images are interesting to see, I prefer to edit the photos to my liking. Appreciate you watching and commenting!

At some point perhaps. I do have a CCD sensor Sony Alpha 200, and I also have a Leica V-LUX bridge camera I need to make videos about. All in due time, but I appreciate the feedback. I’m always open to camera recommendations so always feel free to cite specific cameras, and if I can track them down I’m happy to make a photo video about them.

I probably won’t ever bother messing with the video on this camera, and while I love the form factor I don’t love how slow it is. I’ll write a bit more about this in the description soon so those who are interested in it have a better idea of what’s good and not good about this camera. Thanks for your input!

@@somephotovideos The anti-shake feature on these are also notorious for failing, as does the plastic trim around the camera which cracks and breaks. Thankfully it worked on mine, but only because it already had the firmware updated.

@@brigganthewolf1461 Yup! I learned this the hard way as well. Luckily I was able to update the firmware and can still use the camera. I was shocked that I was able to do so on a camera that came out in 2007. Going to include that story on my write-up in the description. Thanks for watching!

@@somephotovideos My unit actually already came with the firmware updated, which was a surprise as it was listed as untested. Then again, the seller mentioned their father had taken great care of the camera, so I shouldn't have been that surprised.

Lovely shots! Do you shoot in auto mode? I’m not a huge of this type of camera because the lens aperture is quite mediocre for low light, but here the dynamic range is pretty good and the lens is decently sharp.
